I was gonna buy the Intel card for more than twice as much. Glad I bought this instead. This card is fast enough for me. I can transfer files between computers with speed ~90-110 MB/sec. Not bad at all. This is through my wired GB network using CAT6 cables/patch, BTW. If your network is not fully GB network, then you might have the transfer speed in the range of 10-30 MB/sec. Buy this. It's cheap, and it just work.

Windows XP would not start the device after installation with the driver provided on the enclosed CD-ROM. With the driver downloaded from TrendNet, Windows could start the device, but the lights on the card did not start blinking and the card did not function. I'm returning it and will buy from another manufacturer.A quick web search indicates that I am not the only person to have a problem with this card under WindowsXP.

The original video adapter in my PC was failing. With increasing frequency, the screen would blink and come up with an "adapter stopped and recovered" message. Now and then, the whole system would "blue screen". Since installing this adapter, the problem has disappeared.

I used with my mini android PC mk808 on my TV. worked as expected allowed me to connect to the network via ethernet.

This item arrived earlier than scheduled and did the job I needed it to do. I required an additiional LAN port for a camera that needed a static IP address. I ran this configuration until I had a better solution a few weeks later. It did the job intended.

I ordered this unit to replace the on board adapter in my PC. Plugged it in open PCI slot and it worked fine. Speed was good and I was satisfied.

Amazon is amazing sometimes. I ordered this yesterday for two day shipping and this thing was already here the next day. Due to a power outage my on board motherboard adapter stopped working. I guess it got fried during the power outage. I put it in and it worked without having to use the install disk that came with it. Now I'm back on the internet again.

I bought this product to see if I could get some extra miles out of my 4 years old laptop, after its built in network card stopped to work. It pretty much work right away after installing the driver from the CD. This device save me plenty of $$ over fixing my laptop built in network port and is giving my Laptop an extended life !! Kudos and compliments to the people from Trendnet .AYIOct 16 2012

This was a lifesaver. With a fried NIC on a motherboard and no expansion bays what to do but use USB. It's plug and play and that's it!

The gigabit ethernets is great for fast internet access. It makes my life so convenient to not have to upgrade all my computers at the same time. I can keep old hardware and keep using it down the road when onboard connectivity starts failing.

If you have an older PC and want to have faster network speed, this is a good card to get. Inexpensive and works like a charm. Got 4 of these for my home PCs and can transfer between PCs at gigabit speed. Note that if you are NOT using gigabit hubs, then you do not need this card.

My ethernet port on my computer got zapped during a power outage. I purchased the trendnet usb adapter to get reconnected to the internet and it worked perfectly. I just had to install the driver that was included and I was back online in two minutes. This was the cheapest option out there and it worked like a charm.

Just what your old computer needs for your new Gigabyte Router. Instalation was easy. Just remember to inactivate your current wired network connection before discovering your new gigabyte connection. Blazing!

Bought it in February 2012; it died November 2012.They have no general email to contact the company.They require customers to register before you're permitted to email them.I won't buy another product of Trendnet's.'nuff said.

I'm getting 15 - 18mb/sec without jumbo frames enable. Activating jumbo frames causes my NAS drive to stop responding.Below are the specs:Buffalo NAS Linkstation 1B - LS-CH1.0TL (Support Jumbo frames up to 9kb via Web settings under network) connected using a Cat6 to theWNDR3700 Netgear N600 wireless dual band GIGABIT router which connected it using a 2ndCat6 directly to theRealtex pcitxr (updated to the latest firmware which now included 2kb MTU) onto my desktop.It is faster, from 8mb to 18mb/sec without enabling the jumbo frames. As I mentioned, when enabling jumbo frames via device manager under the advanced tab, my NAS will become unresponsive regardless which frames I selected.Most said I should get at least 50mb/sec... after jumbo frames is enable... I guess I'll stick with 18mb/sec until I find a resolution for the unresponsive issues.

I bought this USB Network adapter to use on a Security Onion network Monitoring, and intrusion detection device. I had to install it on Ubuntu. The install was quite easy. I am using the Adapter in permiscous mode to capture packets with Snort IDS. Works very quick. 0 dropped packets afer a few months now. I have bought two more so I can monitor other parts of my network.

It works as advertised. It handles jumbo frames up to at least 7K which is the limit of another device on my LAN.
