I have an Abit Airpace in my desktop and I am only getting 2 bars of signal from where I am. Internet was unstable (disconnects and choppy streaming videos) so I decided to find a high gain wifi adapter. I tried ALFA adapter but that didn't work out so I got this. This wifi adapter has a pretty good signal range. It isn't 4x the range like it claims to be but more like 2x the range of normal wifi adapters. I got 3-4 bars of signal with this adapter and it is pretty fast and stable. I have been using this adapter for over a week and I am liking it so far. The looks of it is great and I like the led and the white casing. It is also very nice of them to provide an usb extension cord so it wouldn't take up all your usb slots and prevent you from breaking it also. Installation was not plug and play for me though. I have Windows 7 64-bit professional and I had to browse the cd for the driver and then get the updated driver from the website. It's not too bad. Overall if you're thinking to get a high gain wifi adapter, get this one instead of the ALFA 1000mW one. The ALFA one gives you full bars of signal but internet is not as stable as the TP-LINK adapter.Please comment if you have experience with other high gain wifi adapters. I am still looking for better ones.

I bought this mostly because I needed something that was backwards compatible with an old standard, 802.11b. My old wireless router works great so why should I change? Some other wireless adapters didn't work but this one locks right on. The external antenna really pulls in the signal. I'm using this to send video to a dedicated computer attached to my HDTV TV and needed the extra range.The only problem encountered was with the initial installation. The book tells you to run this program called QSS. Well don't, that is, unless your router has a QSS button. Mine doesn't but I tried it anyway and it kept saying it can't find the network. Well, I found out later that QSS is not for older routers so I just went into Windows and ran the wireless setup there. Bingo, it locked right on.The unit is well made and rugged, as long as someone doesn't step on it. Wireless Adapters with external antennas are good for permanent installations due to the increased range but probably not good for a laptop. They are just a bit too large for that.Overall it fits the bill and I'm very happy with the performance.

I bought this adaptor for a new desktop I built. I needed something with a good signal quality because it needed to be located behind my desk on the back of the computer. This one works very well. I have 4 bars at 150Mb/s. The antenna seems to improve the signal over by other adaper which is smaller with no external antenna.Note that this adapter is big. it's about an inch wide and four inches long and the antenna sticks off the side. So you'll need to make sure other cables are clear of it and that your USB ports aren't recessed into the computer.The CD installed the drivers on Windows 7 x64, but the TP-Link Network Utility on the CD does not support Windows x64. It works fine without the utility though.

I've been using this network adapter for the last few days and so far I haven't had any issues with it. It was very easy to install on widows vista and appears to be dependable. It is able to pick up networks that are relatively far away and works well with my ATT/U-verse 2wire modem. The only annoying downside/drawback is that it causes the "safely remove hardware" icon to appear in the Taskbar. I had to "hide" it, but I honestly wish it just wasn't there. I've contacted customer support via email, and after a series of correspondence with them, no total solution has been provided. I've used many other USB-network-adapters in the past and never had this issue.

I have to say that this USB Wireless antenna exceeded my hopes. I am on the fringe of a wireless network. My internal computer wireless was at best "fair" and mostly "poor" in reception. I went to a local store and purchased a Belkin USB wireless for $49.99. It was no better than my internal receiver even with a cord to place it all around to try to find a sweet spot.I returned it and bought this unit for under $20.00 and figured I could not do worse. Well it works beyond my hopes. I now have "excellent" reception 90% of the time and "Good" the rest. I can only say I am verrrrry happy with this unit. Also the shipping was fast and secure, a great seller on top of it.

This wireless adapter works great! The installation was very quick and it makes it easy to install with or without their wireless utility in case you prefer to just let Windows configure your wireless network. I was up and running in minutes with excellent signal reception!

After thinking of all the horrible ways to run Cat 5 through my old house, I got this for an old XP desktop I had put in the garage for shop work. I intended to move my router from the opposite corner of the house to a better place, but this baby gets a great signal.

Based on another review here, I ordered this as a an alternative to the Onkyo dongle for streaming the internet with my Onkyo 809 receiver. Apparently, this unit uses the same chip set as the Onkyo dongle. Sure enough, after setting the 809 to the USB input and inserting the WN722N, the Onkyo loaded it up automatically. The WN722 automatically found several networks, including my router, and after typing in my password on the screen that comes up on the Onkyo, I was connected to the internet. Works great so far on Sirius/SM, Aupeo, Pandora.A big advantage this has over the Onkyo dongle is that, unlike that unit, this WN722N has an antenna and has much better reception and signal strength.

This is the second one I've purchased for a client. They work great in a very large older office building, even when on the second floor. Much better quality than I was expecting at this price. Easy install, great signal strength and b/g/n connectivity. What more can you ask for under $20. I will continue purchasing more of these for clients as needed.

Plugged it into my Windows 7 64-bit desktop and automatically found drivers and installed them. Worked within a few seconds no setup or driver CD needed. I'm satisfied.

Was kind of a pain to setup... it kept trying to connect without even asking for a password... finally messing with it uninstalled/reinstalled finally worked... seems to have problems with windows 7 64bit.... Now that I have it working its pretty decent... can play online games and download/stream movies almost as fast as fast as if I had a cable.

I received this wireless adapter in November 2011, and it worked great for me. Easy to install, quick connection, stability is ok. However, my wife just called me to check the wireless connection since the green light is not on when she turn on the computer. I checked everything, changed the USB line, used different USB ports, different computers, reinstalled the driver, none of them work! I did not believe the bad reviews before I placed my order, now I do. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT, FIND OTHERS.

I was skeptical at first about getting a USB wireless adapter but this thing is great! Just plug it in, pop in the install disk and you're ready to go. The signal is great and so are the speeds. I plan on purchasing another one as we have several computers in the house.

I was gonna buy one of those mini adapters that are like 2 dolars, but opted for this that was about 14 bucks, and i've got more than i paid for, they have worked perfectly until now. hope this keeps up!

The best product I ever bought in my life. I hate computers and this was a mindless wonder. I will buy another one as a good luck charm to ward off evil spirits. If I can get 100% performance as stated by my computer, it should work against my enemies in the local, state and federal governments.

What bugs me about this purchase was all those windbags that reviewed the product here claiming they got spectacular reception, some over 20,000 feet or over major acreage, or that it performs better than similar products from other manufacturers. Those people must be paid from the manufacturer to create bogus reviews because this product is nothing to brag about.This product does not do anything special, it is just the same as the cheapo average wireless antenna I had from 2007 that I was trying to replace. It did not perform any better than my laptop's own wireless built-in antenna either. On the one occassion it gets a bar more than my laptop, it is because it has a 3 foot cord that allows you to place the antenna higher to get reception that travels overhead. As an example, I placed it to get reception in one location, and if you move it an inch or two, or rotate the antenna a bit, you lose reception altogether, so it shows that it does not have any hioh-gain capability of any kind. It is just an everage product, just like all the other wifi antennas that sell for less than $20. It will only improve reception for those people that have a laptop with a horrible built-in wifi card that does not connect well to anything. For all others out there, you are not missing anything.

this item works good with my xp, it provided the right amount of Mbps and it didn't cause any lag. i would recommend this for those who don't have a high speed internet.

The best USB WiFi adapter you can get! I got 5 bars right away! Blazing fast speed. I used to have a much more expensive brand-name one, the $69.99 Belkin N750 DB Wireless Dual-Band USB Adapter Network adapter, and it only gave me 4 bars at most.Save your money! Get this one!

The TP-Link TL-WN722N seems to be a great product so far. I have been using it for 2 days now almost nonstop with my laptop that has a bad motherboard (doesn't allow the built in wi-fi card to turn on) and had no issues so far. It seems to be very sensitive as well, so it picks up all of my neighbors wireless router signals as well unlike the built in wireless card which picked up mine and 1 other occasionally now I see 12. For the price you can't beat it. Also, I am running Windows 7 ultimate and it installed with ease, just pop in the disk and install the drivers, within 2 minutes I was online. The only downfall to having this is you take up a USB port, but hey, I can't really complain as I haven't been able to use this computer wireless for months and this fixed that issue for a small fraction of what a new motherboard would have run me.

Worked okay for a month or two now it keeps dropping the connection on three different computers. I checked the driver device online and they were up to date.And then call TP-LINK customer service and someone in Asia just wants to walk you through everything you already did, like down load drivers ...Never buy a TP-Link product.Look at the latest reviews.
