This 8 port Gigabit un-managed Switch has plenty of ports for future use around the house. Works as advertised and lights up which ports are active when there is a data draw from them. Lightweight and affordable. Great way to split up Ethernet around the house to multiple locations/devices.

This switch is drop-dead simple to use: Just plug this into the wall, plug one Ethernet cable in from your router (to any of the 5 ports!) and connect the rest of your devices to the other 4 Ethernet ports, and you're done. It just works! This switch gives me fast file-transfer speeds between the computers connected to it.

This is not as fast as my L brand Gigabit switch but almost. The throughput is about 600Mb as opposed to about 750-800 for the name brand switch. Still a good deal for the money if it lasts.

This is GREAT for splitting your internet line to multiple computers, especially if you have broadband or cable modem that's fast and don't want to have to connect over wifi. It's super fast, and takes NO configuration. You just plug it in and it works! Fantastic and highly recommended!

Plug it in and insert your cat5's and it works. All my gigabit runs are gigabit through this switch. My transfer speeds internally have been stable...this is a good switch.

There's not much to write about this. I connected everything, hid it out of sight and it just works. I have been monitoring it for temperature and it doesn't seem to be getting very hot. Cooler operation in electronics usually means longer life and I hope this will stay trouble free for years to come.

This TP-LINK 5-port gigabit Desktop Switch is practical and easy to set up. It is quiet, fanless, and works well without overheating. It also provides instant large file transferring. Not sure yet about the long term reliability of this product, but the cost is reasonable.

I was upgrading from an old 10/100 netgear switch. I do notice some speed increases and I like that this has power saving features. I went ahead and updated to cat6 cable too. Idk if it's a placebo effect but my whole wired home network seems quicker.

As long as you understand what this is and how to use it, you will be happy. The price is right and the switch works perfectly. Easy to set up and use. The gigabit speed means no bottle neck on your network, at least not at the switch. Get wired up and enjoy the ride.

I purchased this switch for a small home network with public access e.g. a couple of websites.I am subscribing to a few static public IP's for my servers, unfortunately it is limited to somewhere around 700kBs upload speeds.Wish they could balance it more to a 50/50 ratio. Perhaps in the future, although Phone lines have their limitations.On the other hand it seems to be sufficient for what I am doing, with about 18,000 hits per year.The switch is directly connected to the DSL modem and provides thereby 15 theoretical public IP numbers, which 8 of them are used.Throughout the past two weeks the switch is just doing what it is supposed to do, working great.My server have Gigabit NIC's , so at least on this part of the network there will be no bottlenecks.Although, in my configuration I might not be able to use the full potential of this switch, it is nice to know that I have some horsepower left.All over I am very satisfied with the price to performance ratio.

Very solid performance. Really sped up my home network. I can fast forward through hi-def movies now over ethernet faster than I could with my DVR.

For the price, this thing is unbeatable. i have 22 of the ports in use, i ran cat5e throughout my house, did directv whole home dvr via this thing, works great, reliable speeds, plug n play, no hassles at all.

I need a 8-port ethernet switch to add more stuff to my home network. This worked as soon as I plugged it in. No delay, no set-up required. I just worked as I expected. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and there has been no problems. Nice!

Amazing price for a product that simply plugs in and works. We put it in to replace a more expensive, slower switch and it works great. No problems or glitches evident. Well worth the price.

The switch works as promised. I have it connected to a gigabit router via 100 feet of cat6 cable and I'm seeing 50MB+ on file transfers. Not bad.

I bought these units as a part of a home upgrade to gigabit ethernet (replaced 10/100 switches). My main router is a Netgear Wireless Dual-band with 4 gigabit ethernet ports, thus I needed these to propagate gigabit through my home network wiring. The TL-SG1008D installed easily, works as specified and are fan-less (thus, quiet, but yet cool).

I've been running this for 2 months now on my home network to extend the network to 2 additional Roku units in other parts of the home and extend the Gigabit router. It works! No problems. Stays cool and I've seen no issues with speed of any kind.

Works great! Installation couldn't be any easier. The lights are helpful and the switch runs quiet and cool. There are smaller units available if size is a premium, but this one seems to work very well.

This switch does what it says on the box. It is compact, lightweight and I like that it is green so that it uses less power on the unused ports.It also does not radiate heat out of the top so that it can be placed above / below other equipment.
