This TP-Link wireless router works really well. It includes a USB port for a 3G or 4G wireless card which is a great option. At the same time you can connect a number of devices from what would normally just run on one laptop and share the connection.There is also a mode for connecting with a WAN. A really cool mode is the AP mode, in which the device acts as a normal wireless router that you can plug into a LAN. Beside it being small and compact, the device's form factor makes this perfect for setting up rogue access points. Overall it's very easy to pack way for trips and the distance of use is at least over 150 feet, not sure of the total distance, but suffice to say it's well worth the cost. Works well through walls of the house without any complication so far. Recommended.

The TP-LINK Portable 3G/3.75G IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11b Wireless N Router (TL-MR3020) is a very, very, VERY small device that packs a lot of wallop in a tiny footprint. Mainly used as a 3G/4G router for travel, this also has the ability to be a main wireless router for a home. This is exactly how I set this up, and I finally got it working but it was a painful experience that resulted in numerous phone calls to technical support and just about giving up.When finally I was able to get this working the result was a fast, efficient wireless router that was a serious upgrade from my old router that was too much in size, antiquated to say the least.If you need a wireless option to get 802.11 ability with your 3G/4G network, this absolutely does the job. If you want a home router this works as well, but be prepared to use some choice words while getting things up and running.**** RECOMMENDED

Though Verizon USB760 3G modem is listed as compatible it does not work even with the latest firmware. Switching from default configuration to manual advanced settings does not help either.Technical support is not able to provide any meaningful assistance.One example of the general sloppiness are the setup instructions that refer to a pin number that was supposed to be on the device label. It is not there and here is the quote from TP-Link's website (faqid 302):"For some reason, some devices (E.g. TP-LINK TL-MR3020) don't provide the PIN Code on the product label. In this case, please select method 1 to connect to the unsecured network first..."Quite interesting when the manufacturer of the product does not know why the labeling is incomplete...(Tip: default UserId/Password are admin/admin - just in case you are trying to find this information in documentation)

Recently I took a trip to Europe, and this came in very handy. This little portable router worked perfectly, with the setup minimal. It is an excellent size for people who travel.The hotel I was at only had the wired connection in the room, So I plugged cable into this router in the Access Point mode, which in turn sends out wi-fi signals that my lap top picked up. I had internet access in a matter of minutes. I was able to check my emails, etc. in my room.This TP-Link router worked just as advertised, and provides excellent support for 3G/4G modems. . Plug in the required cables, setup was almost automatic, and instant wi-fi connection to the Internet. The price is great too.

I travel a great deal, both domestically and overseas, and internet access is critical for me. I often have one of two problems:1. Internet available in the room only via hard-wire2. Weak wifi signal in the room (sometimes a router is out and the nearest one is 50 feet away in the hallwayTherefor many years ago (3?) I learned to carry a portable router/repeater. I have been very happy with the Asus mini router, but wanted to try something newer.So far, the TP-LINK TL-MR3020 has served me well as a repeater and as a router.Pros:-Cheap-Small-Reasonably easy set up-Reliable-No software glitchesCons:-None so far

Lighting fast shipping from Amazon, well packaged and easy to open. I almost laughed at the size of it but it but after a close inspection it's a powerhouse of features. I didn't know what to expect with this small portable router but must say I'm pleased. I travel a lot and always have my laptop, while most hotels have wifi service I'd rater plug my router directly into the wired service then have the freedom and safety using my own Wifi secure signal. Range is ok for what I need but don't count on having a wide area of coverage as it is limited. The mini USB power outlet is handy for charging or powering other items you might be traveling with, while overseas this always comes in handy because I know the voltage is correct and don't need to search for another power adapter.

I tested this router out at home, so I would be prepared on what to do when I was traveling, or had to stay at a hotel with just wired service. I was very surprised at the quality of this little router. I replace it with my Netgear router which I'm really not too fond of, because my wireless phone always interferes with the Netgear. This little router is a powerhouse for sure. Not only did it not interfere with my wireless phone, but I noticed that the speed increased as well. We tested it with four tablets, two laptops and my desktop, and I have to say that I was really impressed with this little gadget. The instructions are a little tricky, but if you know what you are doing, you won't have any problems with it. If not, you can always call customer service to guide you through the process. This is a keeper!

This router is compact and portable and is relatively simple to install and use. Build quality seems good.There are already 72 or so reviews of this item on this page so I am pretty sure I cannot add any more technical data. What I did find though, is it is the instructions are ok, not great, but it if one has a rudimentary knowledge of modern computing and connecting, it won't be difficult to set up and use.I did appreciate the fact of how it easily converts to wifi with just an ethernet outlet, as others have previously mentioned. The range is limited as others have found out and that is a disappointment. I may use it for some other applications as a variety of these other reviews have detailed. It may be that one of those is the best way to use this router.

Setup is simple. Will share one connection wirelessly to multiple devices. Useful for remote areas that do not offer wireless. I'm sure there will be more to post but I have to come across more situations to test it's abilities.UPDATE: I thought this would do something other than the router provided from the ISP. That router spreads my landline DSL throughout the house. For some reason I thought this would boost the service but it does the same thing. So far the only person this would be good for is those that have a "phone line" internet service and want to transform it into a wireless signal for multiple users. It's my opinion that most ISP's provide this equipment - if I'm wrong or there's another reason, please enlighten this "regular" user.

This device will create a wireless hot spot by connecting a single 3G/4G modem or an Ethernet wire to it. It is very useful when you have multi users and a single USB modem or when you use a tablet or some other device that does not have a wired Ethernet port in some hotels where only a wired internet connection is available.Set up is very simple, and it can be powered by its mini USB connected to a laptop or the power adapter. The very small size makes it easy to fit in a pocket. Great product at a reasonable price and it works as advertised. Well-earned five stars.

This is just what I needed for routine travel. It provides a fast and easy connection for any of the wireless devices in may arsenal (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch). This is way easier than some of the other other solutions out there. I have used this to connect multiple devices over a variety of platforms and all performed flawlessly and had a strong internet connection. There was never a point at which the service failed as a result of this device. I have to say that the stability of this item is one of the major selling points. Other items in this class that I have used seem to be a bit sketchy from time to time. Not the TP-LINK. This device made travel a breeze and allowed for multiple connections. For the price, it cannot be beat. I had zero issues with this product.

A really cool mode is the AP mode, in which the device acts as a normal wireless router that you can plug into a LAN.The device's small form factor makes this perfect for setting up rogue access points. Note that I do not advocate doing anything illegal here, but it might be nice to turn that wired network into a wireless one.The versatility of the device is really great, and installing it is great (as much as I hate those mini CDs).

I am pleased with the ease of using this little portable router.Perfect little travel companion just in case there are no wireless or PAID wireless access in you hotel room...this has happened to me more than one time and I have a tablet Nexus 7 that doesn't' have wired access.. so this solved the problem.This will be traveling me on all trips going forward.It is small enough to tuck right into my carry on luggage and powerful enough to solve my problems and saves me a little money.Use can't be any easier just plug in the cables, setup was almost automatic, and instant wi-fi connection to the Internet. At this price point it is very affordable solution to a nagging travelers problem.

This is so much smaller and lighter than I anticipated, though I did read the product description. We used this as interim router in our home until we had the time to look for a full size, decently priced, less portable one. Setup was easy and no one noticed a change in download or surfing speed. I will use it in hotels when we travel, but am most looking forward to using it while camping! I love surfing and watching movies on my Kindle Fire in a tent. I know, so not the point of camping.The product comes especially well-packaged and the directions are concise and easy to understand. Even though I'm not highly proficient in technical matters, I'm pretty confident that I'll find myself using this router more often than I originally anticipated.

There are good and not-so-good points about this portable router.For the positive, it is very small, lightweight and very attractive-looking.On the down side, the instructions that came with this unit are very difficult to follow, do not make sense, and are often contradictory. It is impossible to find out what the user name should be, what the initial password should be, and it does not make it clear if the user can set these two pieces of information separately. Two friends and I tried to figure it out, but it was impossible.I should point out I wanted to use this as a portable router, but the main reason for this router supposedly is to use it as a hot spot for your laptop, when hooked up to your 3G or 4G cell phone. I did not attempt to use it in that manner.

Got this to use with my USB760 version modem. Out of the box I upgraded to the most recent version of its firmware as many have suggested. That probably was not a good idea, after a few days of emails with TP-Link I was finally able to get it to work. IT NOW WORKS GREAT!. Apparently the newest firmware (as of this date) will not work with the USB760. You have to revert to a version of the firmware that is not the most recent version. TP-Link knows this and are working on a solution so by the time you get it they may have it fixed. I am definitely recommending this, just don't expect it to be worry free at first if you are planning to use a USB760 from Verizon in the US.

This is a great product first of all. The reason I gave it four stars is because there is something better. There is a product that does the same thing but has a battery in it. This produce will do the job of mobile internet, but having to plug it in seems to defeat the purpose behind it. The plus of the device is that it is small, looks good, and really works well. But if I am taking it with me for remote internet access, I do not want to find a plug for it. And the need for cables is too much. Look for the battery operated product, it is just as good and more convenient. But if this works for you, go for it, it works well and is well made.

I travel every week, so this Portable Router has become a constant companion. Many of the smaller laptops, tablets, etc. don't have Ethernet ports. Unfortunately, that's what a lot of the hotel rooms still use.I'm not very tech savvy, but this router was very easy to use. I just attached the hotel Ethernet cord to it, and my iPad picked the WiFi signal up right away. It's as simple as that.I think the price is great too - can't go wrong with this if you travel a lot! (it's also very compact and easy to throw into your carry-on or laptop bag)

The appeal of this was the fact that, with my house size, I need a mobile repeater, as I didn't want to buy 2-3 repeaters to cover the whole house. Added to this, I thought the unit would be great rather than trying to plug my computer into the one CAT5 port and having that be it.It is pretty sleek looking and the perpherals I found worked better wither the power adapter.Basically, unless you're in the exact circustances this is deesigned for (a mobile 3G modem and so many devices you can just use the modem itself) I don't think its really useful. The modem should be able to pipe straight to this and have it use that signal, but if it can do that, it hides the function very well.

I purchased the TP Link TL-MR3020 wireless router thinking it would work as a router for my smartphone. I was very wrong but not until I attempted to connect it to my smartphone and spend an hour on the phone with customer support. The device itself is very compact and I suppose if you needed a small router due to space concerns it would be an okay choice. No way could I imagine wanting this over a conventional router that had USB ports and a stronger signal.

I configured this as kind of an extension as our wireless signal strength in the master bedroom was a bit too weak to stream movies etc. Connected to the network via a wall port (our house was pre-wired cat 5 when built) and plugged the DVD player into the router and voila!..a solid connection to the network that's stronger than wireless. The footprint of the router is very small so it was easy to place it out of view behind the DVD player. My only complaint (a minor one) is the color. White makes this device stand out a bit when I'd rather it just blend into the background. Other than that however, this is a very solid and reliable device.

My first impressions of this little "pocket" router are good ones. For my use, so far, the setup was almost plug and play (I was testing it as a repeater and a Ethernet to wireless hotspot). The instructions for various use and configuration are easy to follow and I had no fail points. I have not had the opportunity to test it for 3G/4G use, but have some ideas that I would like to test with it. I wonder if I can use the 4G connection from my phone to turn this little device into a WiFi broadcast and plan to explore those ideas with further testing. I find this is a very solid device and easy to use.

If you spend a lot of time in motel rooms, this is the perfect device to have if the motel doesn't have Wifi, you know, they've only got an ethernet connection and you want to use your laptop in bed. I'm on the road a lot and greanted most motels, even the cheap ones, have Wifi that doens't depend on an ethernet connection, but every now and then they don't and that's where this little wonder shines.
