It works but has quirks. Powering it off and on after loading a new set of CD's is often required (else it fails to see one or more of the loaded CD's).

I think this CD player is fine, other than it's misleading information about the shuffle capabilities. It only shuffles ONE disc. I think most of us understand that in a 5 disc changer, the shuffle means it shuffles ALL the discs, which give you a nice random selection of music. VERY disappointed, because it's VERY difficult to send back a product of this nature. It needs to say it ONLY SHUFFLES ONE DISC. It also seems to take a very long time to START playing a disc. I feel as if I'm aging while it's reading it in order to start it. BUYER BEWARE!

This was a replacement for the order shipped that did NOT turn on. We were very careful this time to test the unit before installing - and it had power. Once installed it performed as advertised. It is quiet, I love the turn-table that can be rotated by hand to load CDs.. The sound thru my old Optimus amp is perfect.

The pros? This changer handles studio discs and home-made CD's with equal efficiency. I noticed virtually no difference between the discs I burned at home, and the ones that came from a major studio. All of them sounded extremely good. I have no complaints with playback quality. But the cons involve this player being rather slow to load a disc into the playing position, or skipping ahead (or back) from one track to another. It's also noisy. It has a very noticeable mechanical sound, as the tray loads or when rotating discs. This player replaces an older TEAC changer which finally bit the dust. The older model was quicker and more quiet.
Looks: Five stars. Standard matte black finish. Will fit with most decors.
Speed: 3 stars. Slow, but it gets there.
Noise: 2 stars. The biggest surprise and the biggest disappointment. Sounds like an old piece of farm machinery.
Playback/sound quality: 5 stars. Flawless and no complaints.

It was great, especially for the price. No place in town sells disc changers any more. I like that this'll play recorded cd's as well, so long as they're "finished".

I bought this changer about three months ago. I didn't get to use it until recently. After several days #4 disc stopped playing and indexing became a little erratic. I have made four attempts to contact Teac. That turned out to be a joke. I haven't been able to get a person yet. I can't believe that Amazon would support a company like this.

<промежуток класс="">мне нравится делать записи живой музыки (преимущественно классической) из различных источников и в течение многих лет мой старый Пионер выполняет эту функцию хорошо, несмотря на некоторые проблемы с отслеживанием. Я купил в радио-тюнер два года назад и был впечатлен его характеристиками на цифровые и УКВ (который я предпочитаю). Я только начал использовать новое о TEAC диктофон, но догнали до сих пор на восемь записей. Он записывает также, если не лучше, чем Пионер в период своего расцвета и более просты в эксплуатации, особенно при установке уровня записи anaolgue. Это отлично. Это реальный плюс в том, что он прекрасно выполняет как проигрыватель компакт-дисков и, безусловно, лучше на этот счет, чем Пионер. Так что я доволен и очень рад, что это, очевидно, немного старомодны часть оборудования по-прежнему доступен и высокого качества, которые мне нужны.

I should have listened to the negative reviews! I got two years out of it, then it up and died. Never really liked it to start with. Bummer of a product.

MY TEAC PD 5 DISC CD PLAYER IS GREAT. I ONLY DISLIKE THE REMOTE HAS NO POWER BUTTON ON IT. YOU HAVE TO TURN THE PLAYER ON WITH YOU HAND. THE REMOTE WORKS ACCORDING WITH THE PLAYER.YOU HAVE TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE PLAYER WITH YOUR HAND.NO PROBLEM WITH TURN TABLE. I'M REALLY ENJOYING IT.

<промежуток класс="">замечательная, классная машина, идеально подходит для моего студийного оборудования. Хорошо сделанный продукт, очень профессиональный. Единственный маленький criticsim, что я бы желаемый записи регулятор уровня, а не кнопки рекордного уровня.

After reading reviews on several models of the CD players and having Teac products in the past I opted for this model. So far, I am very satisfied with this product. It was easy to set up, instructions easy to follow and sound quality is good, and probably would be a little better if I had a newer reciever, right now I'm using a Pioneer SX-550 . I would recommend this product, to anyone looking to replace an old unit or buying a new one.

The unit was easy to install, and after about a month of use, mechanically seems to be OK. My major complaint with the product is that "Shuffle" play only exists within a single CD. With previous changers (like the Sony which just quit on me), the shuffle function would work across all 5 CD's, allowing for a great variety of musical selections. This way, I only get a variety of music within one CD. If, for example, I'm playing Sinatra and Les Elgart CDs, I have to listen to ALL Sinatra shuffled, then to ALL Elgart shuffled. Would prefer to listen to the two performers shuffled together.

Came in a timely fashion. Removed the one I had and stuck this one in its place. I have had no trouble with it.
