I bought this CD changer about two months ago. Easy to install and sounds good. Can't say much about dependability yet. So far, it works just fine. The only inconvenience I have noticed, as I read in reviews before buying this changer, is that in the shuffle mode, it does not shuffle songs but only CD's. So you listen to one CD at a time, but not nescessarily in the order of the discs in the machine. Shuffling songs on the CDs would be better.
Overall, worth the expense and great sound for the buck.

I purchased this cd changer for my husband when his old one became jammed. We've been really happy with it. It does just what it says it's will do. I'd buy another one.

Plays CD-R and CD-RW very good. Great sound, slow to change and load. This machine is great at playing quality but light on the the bells and whistles. I have already recommended this player to others.

Opened the box and hooked it up and it played for about ten seconds and quit. Never could make it work. I plan to return it and buy a better quality product. It is disgraceful for a manufacturer to sell such a worthless product.

This player is just what we wanted. It came on time and works great. We use it on a fairly regular basis and have had no problems whatsoever.

When you have few choices in the home cd player market, you have to get the best compromise. My first Cd Carousel changer was a Sony. I loved it because it was super user friendly but very unreliable at playback which is a common problem among Sony Cd players. So I got rid of it and bought myself a Teak Carousel changer; it plays MP3 CDs and all other CDs which is better than Sony. But, as far as features, Sony will crush this. Unlike my Sony, this one doesn't shuffle all 5 CDs nor program all five at the same time. With the Teak you can only program one Cd at a time. To program a play list with the teak, you have to select the song # then click program after selection and that was very annoying where with the Sony, you press programm once and selcet your selections.
Do I recommend it? Well if you are like me who wanted a system that is reliable then yes I do recommed it but if you like a system that is user friendly with a lot more features, then Sony is a better alternative.

I'll keep this short and sweet.
I had to replace an old Sony carousel cd player on my music
system which was tied into my Logitech 880 universal remote
which I got from Amazon and my Denon AVR receiver.
Installation of the new cd player was a breeze.
Deleting the old player and reinstalling the new player on the
universal remote was also a breeze.
Within 20 minutes of delivery I was up and playing music again.
The hardest part was watching the UPS driver slip and slide up my steep icy driveway.

if you want to shuffle discs this is not good ,, there is no shuffle button on the unit , you have to use the remote , also it will not shuffle discs ,, only one disc at a time , then goes to the next disc

This was a great price. Works great. Easy to use. When i burn mp3's or cd's it reads them unlike other machines. I like having a remote.

ok so far but not having a power button on the remote is an absolute annoyance. sounds good but that's dependent on the type of connection to your amplifier and the quality of your speakers . cd players have a 1-bit d/a converter as opposed to a dvd player with a 10-bit converter. i'll go dvd player next round.

I needed something to play my collection of mp3s which i had burned to disk.more difficult to find than i thought. No home theater for me, just want to play my music through my receiver. Well, this does the job, but reminds my of a cd changer i bough about 15 years ago, plus the ability to play mp3s. not really a complaint, it goes well with my old Kenwood receiver and plays stuff just like i want, it just looks kind of old fashioned. Would give an extra star if it had some kind of ultra modern styling, but then it would make the old equipment it is hooked up to look obsolete.

load up the carousel with 5 cd's and hit play, nothing happens. Cycle the power and it turns the carousel for awhile and hit play, nothing. When it does work, the repeat function fails. Sometimes it plays, most of the time it does not.

I'm sure happy to have found another Teac carousel changer. The first one lasted for many years, and I actually saved money buying a new one rather than fixing the old one. I think the sound is great, and never had problems with the old one before it died of old age.

The player worked for about 3 hours, then the remote stopped working. I put in new batteries and still no luck. I did not know whether it was a defective remote or if the sensor on the unit was defective, so I returned the unit. I later ordered a Yamaha CD player and am pleased with it.
I have used TEAC products before and had no problems, but I didn't want to take a chance on another one of these.

This 5 disc player/changer works as advertised: Quiet and efficient mechanics, and excellent sound output. Used only for music CDs I cannot rate any other use. The remote failed after only a few days but a new remote has been promised in exchange for the defective one returned to TEAC.

Didn't work at all. Returned it and ordered the Sony. Too bad, my previous Teac lasted 18 years. I don't know if it's poor QC or hidden shipping damage, but it's the first device I've ever received that didn't work at all. The lights would come on but that was it.

The purchase was made with the knowledge that the product was a dinosaur of technology. However, it fit my needs. It is a good product for seniors who cling to their old systems.

Pros- Plays MP3's, >50 songs per cd (up to 90 depending on size), Plays all day at work with out souding "repeaty".
Cons-No USB for Player connection or hard drive therefore cannot make playlists or find 1 song on CD quickly.
Player itself works flawlessly after 1 month.

This was to replace a previous Teac CD changer. I really liked the "shuffle" feature. The shuffle feature on that one shuffled play through all the CDs, this shuffles only within each CD; what's the point! It was awhile after I had hooked it up that I found out this feature didn't operate the same. If I had found out right away I would have returned it. This is not what I want but I figure returning it would be a hassle.

I don't usually write reviews but I'm strongly compelled to do so in this case. I actually bought this player several months ago and I've had nothing but problems. I stopped using it after about two months because it would not read any CD or MP3 discs, even commercial CDs! When it first stopped working, I took it to a local repair place per TEAC's instructions and it worked again for a few more weeks then stopped reading anything! I gave up and started using my portable MP3 player, instead. A few times I've gone back to it, tried burning a CD differently, only to find it will start reading a CD then stop!
I didn't mind how cheapely it's made (it feels like a practically empty box) but the bottom line is that it just doesn't work. I'm surprise to see ANY glowing reviews, but maybe, as someone else writes, it's a quality control issue and there are many lemons with this product. I sure got one. Why take the risk?
Now it's too late to return it. I'm so disgusted with it that I have a fantasy of throwing it off the roof of my house and seeing it shatter on the pavement below...but that's a bit extreme. Unfortunately, it's going to the landfill (recycling facility, actually), which is a shame. (Are you listening TEAC?!) I strongly caution anyone from buying this product! I've wasted a lot of time and money trying to just get it to work. The thing is, I put a cheap after-market MP3/CD player in my car and that works BEAUTIFULLY!!! So I know it's not the MP3 discs I'm making and trying to play. I know there aren't many other options but this player is JUNK!!!

We were interested in a unit that plays audio CDs and MP3 data disks and this unit exactly fits the bill. Sound is good and the features are exactly as advertised.

I've always had TEAC CD players. Usually on the low end. No matter the brand or price, CD players tend to self-destruct after a few years, and it is usually cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired. I was working with a tight budget this Christmas and wanted to buy a tuner/amplifier and a 5-CD player. Was considering a Sony for the CD player, but the reviews were rather dismal. When I showed up at the local Best Buy they were sold out on the Pioneer VSX-819 tuner I wanted (even though I had called before to make sure they had it in stock), so I came back home and logged on Amazon. Their price was much lower on the tuner, which in turn allowed me to buy a better CD player model. So I'm back with a TEAC after all. It is a bit clunky and noisy when changing disks, but the sound is good and that's all I'm concerned about.

We purchased the TEAC PD-D2610 5-CD Carousel to replace our failing carousel that was part of our 19-year-old Sony system. Out of the box, unplugged the old unit, plugged in the new, and we were up and running with no problems. We have had it about six weeks, used it heavily during holiday season. I was forewarned about not being able to power on and off and the lack of disc shuffle. Because of the location, the need to push the power button isn't really an issue for us, nor is the disc shuffle. Better sound than before (probably because the old one was beginning to do weird things). I'm glad to be able to play CD's that I burn on my computer, which I couldn't before. Through my research I was aware of how few of these machines are available now and glad that we could add it into the old system. Good product, great price.

This MP3 CD changer held up for about 14 months. My Mother listens to books on it about 8 hours a day. We never used the programming functions but the turntable mechanism had to be repaired once under it's warranty and now I have just put it down in the basement to be recycled.
