I really like this phone. It fits right into my pocket and it has all of the features of a bigger phone. It takes great pictures and like all Android phones it's easy to customize. My only problem is with the seller. Poor customer service since they never replied to me after a legitimate complain. I paid extra money to get it delivered before the end of the week but it came later than expected. I paid for two day shipping but I did not get it on time. Simple as that but no response from WorldWide Distributors. Poor customer service!

Everything I expected to be. It has many futures and I don't understand way People buy i Phones. It had a little bit a glitch in the facebook app.

Not nearly as fast as it should be for the specs it has. Has weak signal strength compared to a Moto X (which is known for having phenomenal reception however), also slightly weaker at holding a signal than a Nexus 5. You cannot get a better camera or performance in a phone this size on Android or Windows, and certainly not a waterproof / dust proof one. If you're buying just for the camera, go for a iphone or Nokia Lumia 925.

It is not the ultimate phone, but it has everything (good and bad) that I already knew. I wanted it most because of it being water resistant, its memory and processor. The phone is really fast, my friends are amazed with it. It is beautiful, photos are very good, but don't expect them to be as good as you would think for 20mp. I think talking in numbers if someone sees the picture taken and guess how many MP has the phone they would say 12MP.
And because of it being water and dust resistant, its speaker it is not very loud. But for me this is not a problem as I never used a cellphone to play music without headphones.
Sorry about my english and my review, I am not as good as the other reviewers.

It was a great phone but it lasted only a day and a half. Probably a lemon. Unfortunately the seller, Worldwide Distributor, and Amazon both denied my claim for a refund or a replacement based of the policies that the factory seal is broken and a claim must be made within 24 hours. What if i didn't open my package right away? How will I know if the phone is working if i don't break the seal and take it out of the box? So it's basically buy at your own risk. No refund/exchange. Period. I will never buy electronics from amazon again.

Sony specific applications are amazingly helpful, and the hardware has very high performance, better then many 5 inches "flagships". And the waterproof is real and useful. I enjoy using it in bathroom and under water.

I bought a sony dock dk-32 with the phone and used it to charge the phone.
after 3 months of using the dock the dock port on the phone came off when I undocked it.
called sony for warranty. they said that since it's a physical damage, it's not covered by warranty.
I haven't even dropped this phone or anything. I have been really careful with it. this is just due to repetitive docking and undocking everyday.
so if you have this phone don't use the dock. not designed for everyday docking and undocking.

Do not buy: magnetic proprietary connector (used for charging) came off after 36 days. This appears to be a documented problem with Xperia phones (do a search on xda developer) which apparently Sony is blaming users for. Thankfully Amazon agreed to take this back. Thanks Amazon!!

When I bought the Xperia SP, I spent a lot of time on the net (especially on [...]) searching for the pros and the cons about this phone.
At first sight, it was the perfect phone for me: very nice phone and the design is OMG! It's not too heavy and it's the right size for me (XPeria Z is too large with its 5"). I like the "light effect" at the bottom while receiving a call, charging, listening to music or watching pictures. .
But while using it, it was all different. It discharges faster, even if nothing is running.
Worst, it's freezing all the time. Sometimes it even reboot itself because the apps running are too busy and I can't do nothing than letting it work by itself.
I think Sony can do better.

The phone performs beautifully for the price. I highly recommend Sony phones, far better designed and manufactured than Motorola or Samsung. However, I give it only a 4 star because as a first time customer in buying an unlocked phone separately, none of the other reviews or description informed me that this is the worldwide version. It will work in the US, but only with at&t networks if you want decent data speeds. I didn't realize that the sp comes in three different models that differ only in network compatibility. This phone is perfect if you are traveling abroad, but do your research before you buy it. One of the other 2 would be better for using strictly stateside. This phone does not accommodate the 1900 or 1700 spectrum for either 3g or 4g. The network markets are changing but not fast enough to work with most of the signals this phone is capable of, most of which are completely useless in the states.

It has everything I need, and it is also very beautiful :)
I was a little worried about the weight and the colour, but now I am really happy because it feels light and is perfect for a girl :)
With the upgrade to Android Kitkat, I am fascinated with the UI.
Recommended phone :)

Sony did it very well! This smartphone is fast processing video, image, music, everything. Doing calls, SMS, surfing on web the battery last 2 and half days! I didint expect that, it was a good surprise.

This is rediculous. I bought this item and I called the customer service of Amazon to ask if it was unlocked (even though nothing was written on it) and she confirmed that it was. And guess what?...... it was a looked phone. I bought this phone to go back to my country with it, but now that I m here I realized that it was a locked phone (aka it does not work).
Thank you amazon for waisting my money,I was furious becaause I asked to double ckeck but..... grrrrrrrrr

I have had an iPhone since they existed. As of now I have a iPhone 5s, Galaxy S4, and the Xperia Z1 Compact. The Xperia is the phone I use all the time, other two are backups. (yes I am a phone junky, their are worse things in life). The camera is phenomenal, I can see the screen in direct sunlight at any angle no more running to the shade. Because it is unlocked I get the latest Android updates way before the rest of the crowd does, and I have the freedom of using any carrier I choose. I should give it five stars but I am having email issues not sure it is the phone or Android. Other than that I love it.

This phone is just perfect for me. It is very fast and in comparison to other phones I had it never freezes. The battery lasts very long, I usually charge it every 3 or 2 days. It is built with very good materials and is totally waterproof. The only problem is that because of its materials it is fragile (the back is made of glass). I recommend buying a case, I bought a TPU case and it worked perfectly.

Extremely pleased with the product.
Aluminium case makes it feel solid in your hand, size still allows for one-hand operation and fits easily into your pocket.
Screen quality is excellent, colours are sharp, graphics are quick, no lag on screen swipes or task switching.
Battery life has exceeded my expectations. All the reviews talked about the Sony SP having a long battery life (using their standard bench tests), but in real life the unit often runs for 3-5 days without charging (Note: I am not a heavy phone user ... a typical day would include ... reading and replying to emails, answering a couple of calls, taking a few photos, catching up with Facebook friends and sending a couple of text messages).
I downloaded a high resolution graphics game to test the battery life and the processor speed ... the unit performed flawlessly with no game stutter or delays and not surprisingly the battery life fell away significantly during game play.
The camera is listed as 8.0MP but lacks clarity on occasions and is definitely not as consistent as the 8.0MP camera in the old Xperia X10A, which is a little confusing given Sony's camera expertise. There is talk on the internet about Sony releasing a software upgrade for the camera, let's hope it comes to pass.
Sound is terrific, both from a music listening perspective and from a telephone call perspective.
