I doubt the phone was brand new, as I noticed there were a few apps loaded in another language. And the screen blacks out when I make or receive a call, so I cant use it during a call. Otherwise it's a brilliant phone.

It's my first Android phone and I LOVE .... I'm from Venezuela and works perfectly with digitel 4G works quickly and does not stick ... my suggestion would be 8gb memory is little for those who like to download various applications ... but other than that it is a excellent phone! The games are ... super- sharp and work perfectly .... I recommend it !

What can I say, I just love this little guy. It's perfect for me. I used to have the note 3 wich is an awesome phone but way to big. I work in construction so I needed something that doesn't get on the way all the time. So for me this phone is just perfect. The only thing that I don't like that much are the flaps for the ports. Other than that, I am so glad with my phone.
Note: if you want a case for the phone, but you want to use the Sony cradle with your device. Don't get the Incipio case, the magnet charger port is covered. I will return mine. It's a pretty good case but I ordered a couple of magnet chargers for my phone and this case will not work for me.

Haven't had any problems with this phone after about 5 months of use. Love the water resistance, the sleek look, and the speed that it performs. I wish it had a bit more ram but that might just be me; i'm not sure how its' ram compares to other phones.

I am very pleased with this phone, the best part of it, is that am just paying $25.00 a month for service on metropcs I am saving $100.00 each month straight to my bank not to rich guy's bank 😂 lol

I received the phone on schedule, packaging was good. Its my first android phone and I'm pleasantly surprised, the OS is smooth, no lag seen so far, browses multiple pages (5) without lag, the camera is great, tones of apps. However my greatest problem is the battery usage is really poor, once the display is on whether you are on the net or not it uses up the battery quickly. When its charged in the morning (say 7 am) it barely makes it to 4 pm (when it is normally at 10%) and this is with moderate use. If you where to play a game, watch a movie, or use the camera for an hour I don't think it would last until 2 pm. The brightness of the display is as low as is practical, its set to sleep which turns of data usage, gps etc. Listening to music/radio for long isn't so bad since the display will go to sleep. The display uses between 39 - 60 % (with the OS ~ 10) of the batteries energy per charging cycle. Once the display is off it uses little energy. A better battery is needed or a more efficient display.
Update 30/09/2013:
the battery use is not as poor as previously stated, my initial observations were due to above normal use of the phone due to my enthusiasm with my new phone. When its charged at 7 am it will last until 6-10 pm that evening with moderate use. However playing videos,games, capturing videos or pics(for lengthy periods)and a bright a display still consumes battery quickly. Radio use does not consume that much power (i have listened to it all night without draining the battery or needing to charge it in the morning)
I would recommend this phone to anyone wanting a good smartphone.

When thru 100 reviews of this amazing machine and want it to try it out since it got way better than original z1. If you would like the best android in this size? This is your best option. Bought it 2 months ago and have not let me down in any way. I will recomend buying illumishield fron and back film protectors. Water and dust res..its great. Awsome quality build. The best screen from sony finally. Battery is a monster inside this little but great machine when it last me 14 hrs with heavy use, from 6am to 1am next day. Just amazing. I would buy it again if i have to defenitly worth every peny.

OVERALL RATING
SP Sony Xperia Mobile smartphone is a very balanced from every point of view. Excellent is the battery life of the phone part. Nice design. Only the display is slightly below par with regard to the visibility in direct sunlight and for blacks not well defined.

OVERALL RATING

My previous phone, Nokia N8 was the best on its time... I wanted to stay with Nokia, but their failure to put a microSD slot on their best camera phone, Lumia 1020, made me look around..
So, I went with Sony Xperia Z1, for the specs, and Compact because I want a great phone that doesn't look like I am holding a tablet against my face when I am talking on it.
Great specs, with this phone I haven't experienced any lag with game or any app...
Great camera, one of the best out there.
Cons, Screen seems a lil dark, even by increasing the brightness and speaker not the best...
Still 5/5, the best you can get right now.

At last, a worth contender for the Iphone.
In fact, is much better than a Iphone. Buy this if you like Android, and like to have SD cards.
Great battery life, great screen, water proof, excelent camera, and very fast!
But, is not perfect.
* You have to buy a case and a screen protector. Really.
* What i miss from my old samsung smartphone, the "eyes detector" so the screen does not turn off while you are looking at it.
* (Not really Sony's fault i think) Is hard to find a case that works with the Dock.
* Android 4.3 is good enough. Don't know if its worth it to update to 4.4

The setup with my att go phone was quick and simple, it took less than 5 minutes to get set up and i was ready to go. The design is sleek and fits in my pocket nicely, i do recommend getting a case with this phone though to keep it looking beautiful. The light bar is awesome, ive had quite a few people compliment the phone saying how cool it looks, definitely recommend

Arrived on time, but the phone has microphone issue or sth because i can hear people clearly when they alk but they cant hear anything from my side. It does not happen constantly , just sometimes or in certain time of day ( around 10:30 am or so) and it really annoys the people i talk to. Thinking about returning or calling sony to see if the warranty work or not. Seriously doubt it ! But you get what you paid for

This is my first smart phone, so I didn't need anything too fancy and wanted a phone small enough to fit in my purse. I really like the phone and have no complaints about it. I basically use it for calls, texting and checking my email and weather, so I'm happy with it. Also, I purchased this to bring to my AT&T account and had absolutely no problems with it! I took it to an AT&T store and the tech put it on my plan, transferred my contact info and I've been up and running with no issues.

I was disappointed because the phone was very big when I saw it in Amazon but when they delivered the phone it wasn't the way I first saw it at firs it was really small

One of the things I like about this cellphone is price/quality ration. It offers many good features for a relatively low price. On the other hand, I like the sophisticated appearance of this device, it is sober and simple but shows a nice style at the same time. It does not have a great storage capacity (2 GB) but you are able to increase the memory with a Micro sim memory, which is not really expensive. For, me it is fast enough, altough it may not be fast enough for people that like to have many applications ON at the same time, if you only need about 4 "big" applications on, like facebook, twitter, wassapp and gmail, it would work well.

This phone is not the best I have seen but when you consider the price it is the best Android phone compatible with AT&T 3G network and unlocked. Many cheap GSM phones do not support the frequencies used by AT$T.
It is elegant looking with nice feel to it. Call quality (even in poor service areas) is excellent. Good speaker, OK screen, OK camera, great battery life. Not the fastest but I suspect it is more than enough for the average user. I tested data speed while tethering this phone to a PC and it clocks at 3.6mbs. That is almost the same as my Samsung 4G that cost 4 times more. The Bluetooth works much better than other phones I have had with great sound through my car stereo. I have been using it for a while now streaming internet radio while driving and that also works really well. Just buy it, you will love it if you don't expect it to work like a $400 phone.

I love my new and first ever smartphone. It's awesome. The only thing is that it glitches some times, even though it is brand new. But it's fast, it's slim, it's fantastic.

The Sony Xperia SP is a really solid phone that doesn't break the bank. It runs smoothly, comes with neat Sony exclusive features (Walkman music player etc.), has a nice screen and the overall phone design is really attractive.
If you are thinking about getting this phone, go for it! The only problems I had with it were that the camera isn't too great in bad lighting conditions and the android updates caused my phone to use up more RAM (I suggest not updating your android until kit kat comes out for this phone).

I bought this to use as an mp3 player (mainly...maybe the odd video) so if you're looking for a phone review, sorry...
Pros -
Micro sd car (I put most of my music collection on a 32gb card, but can pop in another card if I have video, pictures, etc. I wish to view)
Changeable battery (pick up another battery and it's great for traveling)
Android (familiar for those with Android already)
Sounds great (best sounding phone, being used as an mp3 player I've heard - most are too quite, but this works well)

stay away from this POS, the phone started to act weird then stopped and when it finally died it was already past the crappy 90 day "warranty", this is a scam!
