Sony headphones have always been a sleeper in the market. My introduction to headphones were the legendary Sennheiser HD414's. I've listened to a number of brands over the years and Sony is on their game and consistent with their level binaural expertise. These headphones will provide you with a portable subwoofer. Depending on the quality of the recording. These headphones will slam!!! Not just boom. You love 60's rock and hip-hop with that 50hz and lower bass? YES, RIGHT HERE. ENJOY!

I am a musician. Beyond that I'm an enthusiast when it comes to sound quality.
I might be biased as an owner of Sony XB - 700's, but those are what lead me to these earbuds and I am thrilled. The construction quality is superb; I love the flat cables that Sony uses on these headphones.
The bass is STRONG but NOT overwhelming. It is tight and punchy and well balanced. These are as close to a true headphone listening experience as I've ever had with earbuds.
They are also comfortable, something I find hard to believe because I typically have bad luck with earbuds.
Bargain price for the quality in every aspect; I strongly recommend them.

Great bass response without being muddy or overpowering. Crisp, clean sound across all frequencies-sharp highs & good lows. The different size earbuds will fit almost any ear comfortably. I've heard headphones, which cost much more than these, that didn't sound nearly as good.

The warranty is a short 30 days for amazon. Too bad they broke a day later than that. I wasnt too careful of them, hence why they probably broke in the first place, but I didnt use it that much in all honesty. Maybe for 30 minutes a day, five days a week. I kept it in a headphone case which I bought here on amazon, in where it stayed when it was not being used. Anyways, the sound was superb when I was able to use it, and the bass... ahh, the bass. Top notch (in a more quiet environment i.e. bedroom). But now come the bad part. The sound started making cracking noises, scratchy ones, like something is being stressed the hell out of, a broken speaker noise if you can relate. I didnt do anything to it, maybe turn it up a little bit higher than normal when I was in a louder environment, but aside from that, nothing. Long story short, it was wonderful when it worked, now its trash after 30 days. Sony, up the game a little bit by making this more durable, and Im sure you'll have one hell of a set of headphones.

I have often read that this earbud or another has more bass, but in this case the hype is worth it. I am amazed at how improved product has come down in price.The improvement in sound qualitty is terrfic here and the price is irresistable. In addition, they have improved the shape of the buds so that they don't constantly fall out of your ear; they stay put.

So far overall, they are living up to their description, good bass, good sound reproduction overall. The only downside, and the reason they don't get 5 stars, is that feel a bit bulky in the ears, and I do prefer the "J" cord style, I think it's called, that has the cord for the right ear bud go behind your neck, to the "V" style that these have, that just hangs down in front of you. My previous Sonys, the MDREX310LP, were better overall, but they had gone up quite a bit in price, 179.00, from the 49.00 I had paid for them in Feb 2012, so I decided to try these.

I use these almost every workday and it hasn't crapped out yet. The plastic showing the letter L is coming off a bit, but it's expected wear and tear I suppose. Good sound quality, but it does look a little ridiculous with the buds sticking out. I'd buy them again.

The bass response in these headphones are amazing. I take these everywhere and I get complemented a lot with wearing them, beware, they are designed to fit in the exact left and right ear. I would recommend these to anyone! Can't go wrong with the Sony brand.

Excellent strong tight base

The only flaw is these earbuds don’t have play/pause and mic remote.

Best headphones i've had yet. and i've had many skullcandy, many sony, and 1 pair of audio technica.

blocks out a lot of noise.
i sat out for a cigarette and my next door neighbor started to mow their lawn. so i put both in. and i Literally did not here their motor at all.

Before I bought these, I purchased the in ear Bose Ie2i fitness models. I will say Bose will never be in my future considerations again. I've had Sony before and already expected great quality, but these have surpassed my expectations. The quirky design allows them to stay in without any worries of the buds falling out. Very glad I came across these!

not worth the price, i fell for the hype, i have a set of Koss the plug and they eat these so called xbass sonys up, by the way where is the bass lol i have a Fiio amp that i use and still no resolve, tinny as tinny can be, these are most def going back... Dollar store headphones sound better than these... don't make that mistake and waste 35 plus dollars like i did, have no clue where all these 5 stars reviews are coming from but if i could give 0 star i would... junk junk junk..

I've gone through so many pairs of headphones and i wanted to try something new. the look of these turned me away at first, but don't let that keep you from buying these. ive had 4 pairs of skull candy 50-50, atomic bass earbuds, klipsch is4, and other "big bass" headphones and these provide the clearest, loudest, tightest bass ive heard. dont waste money on others, buy these!

These earphones are great don't get me wrong but they seem to fall out of the ear too easily. They don't seem to stay I. Place while walking. Other than that overall great product definitely recommend buying these. Great sound and great bass

Great! Very good earphones,6 extra buds too that all vary in size for your own preference.
Not so good for lying down vertically in bed tho as the earphones themselfs are quite large and press into your ear..

I just got these headphones in hopes of listening to good bass without a bunch of surrounding noise disrupting me, and i've got to say that these headphones are amazing. The noise isolation picks up sounds i couldn't hear before. I can feel the music rather than the normal "listening" to it. Tangle-free cord style and the design is very exquisite. I am happy with my purchase and anyone who's looking for a pair: Your prayers have been answered

Just got these, and I am delighted. A bit bright, but are not tiring on the ears. You must love bass of course. The Bass is big and tight. Great value as I prefer these to some pairs that I have purchased costing 2-3 times as much. They look and sound like a $100 - $150 pair. I am happy. Only thing which would make them better for me is a mic which they lack.

I am used to have beats tour earbuds and at the first time I bought them, I thought that they were pretty good because of their boommy base. however as soon as I put xb60ex earbuds into my ears, it blew my mind up and I immediately could tell that beats earbuds are just overpriced piece of trash compare to those outstanding earbuds made by Sony.
Design, Tight Base but not engulfing other sound ranges, also excellent build quality, these earbuds satisfied most important conditions to be an attractive audio product that deserves every single penny of its price. I highly recommend these earbuds to consumers who are looking for economical and good sounding earbuds to wear in public as well.

this are great pair of ear buds. The price 40 dollars is stupid for it's sound.
Pros: sound, design, doesn't leak, and alot of buds.

These headphones truly sound like a little concert in your head. I am very, very picky about headphones, and I have gone through quite a few pairs. I wear them while I am working out, and they actually stay in my ears. The price was really good for the sound, and while I probably would not have chosen gold as my first color pick, I can't complain, since I got them at half price. Anyway, who cares about the color...it's the sound that counts. Add that to the fact that they don't fall out of my ears, even when I'm sweating hard (I live in the Deep, Deep South), and you have a winning combo!

Well, I was worried that it was going to be too big to stay "hanged" on my ears, but it's not. It's not as heavy as I expected so I had no problems about that. The bass quality is really good. I don't give it 5 stars because I think there could be an improvement on lows and mids, although I would recommend it and am satisfied with what I got for the price I've paid.

I previously had the slightly "lower end" Sony headphones which were great. After many years of daily use they stopped working properly. I decided to try the more expensive version. The sound is good when the earpieces stay in my ear. With these types of headphones, the rubber piece needs to form a seal in your ear to really produce a good bass and sound good. I've found that these are heavier than my others and therefore gravity and any type of movement cause them to be pulled down and the seal broken. These are also slightly angles which doesn't seem to suit my ear canal very well. My prior versions didn't have any angle. I'm continually pushing them further and further in my ear to try to get that good seal. I'm using the same size rubber piece that I've previously used but they just don't stay in for more than a couple minutes.
I'm going to scrap these and try the lower end that are lighter and sound just as good to me.

I had a pair of ultimate ear buds that i used to listen music at work. I lost the buds and so i switched to a Sony studio headphones. Recently i purchased XB60EX and found that the BASS was not as good as it is advertised and never came close to the studio monitors. Was dissapointed with the purchase and this morning I was making changes in my new laptop's sound settings and realized that the Audio Sampling was set to 16bit,48K(DVD quality) as default. I changed the mixer settings to 24bit,96K and now i feel that the headphones is worth its 5stars and specially at this price point.

Slightly bulkey when compaired to others but I feel the sound is better. I like that it came with a bunch of different sizes of cups for different size ears. Defenitly worth it if you want higher, louder, quality sound.

Bought this mainly for working out, but I've tried different earbuds to ensure the most secure fit, but in vain. These earphones aren't designed to be used when working out, especially running. Keep popping out when moving too much, which gets very annoying.
Otherwise, outside the gym - these are fantastic. Sound quality is by far the best I've ever experienced, and when Sony advertises these as extra Bass earphones, they mean it. Bass extends into the lowest of frequencies, producing very very effective bass. Anyone looking for casual use, anything away from sport - go for it!

WoW is the the 1st Reaction that came out of my Mouth when I put these On! I owned all kind of Headphones that Have BaSs on them! u name it, UrBeat, SkullCandy 50/50 , Sol Republic Tracks InEar , Beats Tour ,JVC Xplosive Creative Aurvana ....but Sony MDR-XB600 with its price ,Shape and Crisp Deep Bass sound it squash them All 👍and now I wonder how the XB90 or the New Line of Sony sound! Hmmmmm

I personally really enjoy these headphones. I thought the color and shape was going to be a bit awkward but not at all. Black and gold really go well together. Furthermore, you should let your headphones burn in at a steady rate after opening the package, this allows the internal components to get used to moving. Eventually after a day or two the headphones will sound much better with a richer and deeper bass.

These are the best earbuds I've ever had! They come with two types of tips for the earbuds - noise isolation and regular (four sizes of each). They are so comfortable, but the amazing part is how great they sound. Worth twice the price.

I give it only 4 stars since they are so new. However, I use these at the gym and while playing drums and I like them alot. I am more of a treble guy, but if you are looking for a deep bass experience, you will get it. The bud configuration takes a day or two to get used to, but by no means does it detract.
I would recommend these buds right now. We'll see how durable they are.

I had earlier purchased few IEP and was terribly disappointed with the quality of bass reproduction. I had read good reviews about this product and wanted to give it a try. I have been amazed by the clarity of the notes. Sometimes I use it in my band while playing the bass guitar and get a decent clarity even with our drummer playing in full volume.
Definitely, a thumbs up.

Great quality sound and bass...much better than any other earbuds I've tried, and I've tried a lot. But with my HTC one with Beats audio, these earbuds still have some distortion from time to time...maybe because with Beats audio you need Beats headphones? Tried with my boyfriend's Beats headphones and the sound is AMAZING...I suppose you can't really expect in-ear earbuds to compare with outer ear headphones though. All in all, great buy for the money.

I was expecting it to be better than the rest of the available earphones in this price range, unfortunately it is not.
Pros:

- Sound is average
- If planning to used with a phone that has a hard/ thick protecting-case on, make sure that there is enough room for the angled jack

The package is great, come with a variety of ear peaces, my last earbud was the Klipsh S4i and the sound of the earbud can similarly comparing to this Sony earbud, though Sony one sound clearly and less distort at all. Earbud fits well in ear, nice earbud for the price for sure

I love these headphones! I'm not a bass addict but I prefer a good amount of bass in my music. These headphones do just the job. They look great too! I always get a second look whenever I'm wearing them and people always ask me about them.

Is the word my teenager used. Given the fact that these are constantly in and I'm tuned out, I'm going to say these are pretty darn good headphones! And, she happily gave me her old headphones to use :)
