I have had this camera for a week now. I am taking it back. The IQ is just not up to par with a DSLR. I am disappointed as I had read good reviews about the Sony NEX cameras, and this is basically a NEX camera in a DSLR like body. Looking at pictures taken with a Canon T3, and this, there is no comparison. I bought this camera because of the large APS-C 20 MP sensor, but the 12MP sensor in the Canon T3 renders a better image. As a friend at work tells me, it's all in the glass.

Took wedding Video with ambient lighting colors were vibrant and at 1080PHD . Nothing looked dark very clear. Included software lets you make a JPEG from movie frame.Still photos at high resolution you can even see stitching in knit sweater.Battery has good staying power. Took 45 minutes of video and camera was still going strong.

This is a beautiful, compact and feature loaded camera. it is a little bit heavier and bigger than what I had expected a mirrorless camera would be, but still way lighter and smaller than a regular DSLR. About to head out on a vacation and will be able to report more on the picture quality, etc. So far, so good!!

The charger of the battery didn't work, so I need bought a new charger.I didn't understand, but I went in Sony store, but they, only sold me a new charger!

Simply put, the features described by Sony are not actually on this product. I feel it is false advertising. It is clearly described(by Sony) as having an hdmi output connector and it does not. I spoke to 4 different Sony reps about this and they are unwilling to correct this problem, they are pulling a bait and switch on me and I'm disgusted by it.

Recently swapped my much heavier Nikon D90 for the much lighter Sony A3000, since owning this new camera my interest in photography has gone through the roof! It is so very easy to use and has a lot of awesome features allowing you to take some really nice shots that would normally only be available for a camera that is much more expensive. I am so looking forward to taking more pictures with this great camera.

I am very pleased with this camera. I don't think you could find a better camera in the Alpha Series. The E18-55 Zoom Lens is idealfor everyday type pictures. The images are sharp and the colors are beautiful. The camera comes with everything you need to get started, and includes a very helpful handbook with illustrations and all you need to know about this product. In an enclosed brochure,Sony offers a wide array of interchangeable lenses for any other types of imaging you may want to do. Overall, this camera is an excellent choice for your photography requirements.

I love it. Its the best camera for the money and it takes beautiful pictures. The picture quality is the best I have seen in any camera I have ever used.

I love the idea of this camera, but the love stops there. I got this camera as an upgrade to my nex 3. I liked the idea of a viewdinder and a hotshoe,both of which my nex doesnt have. The viewfinder is digital and the hotshoe didnt work with my non sony flashes.my nex blows this outof the water

400$? Really? Sony is surely losing money on this camera. They are selling this camera at such a lower price only because they want their customers to invest in their great lenses later. I also own a couple of ff dslrs, leica m9 and nex6. But for some weird reasons I love shooting with it. Comes with a decent kit lens that alone should have cost 200$. Soo basically you are getting an apsc camera body for 200$. I think this is the bergain of the century.If you are looking for a beater camera body or in a market for a starter "professional camera" then buy it. You won't be disappointed. Nothing is free these days but this surely comes close

The images were superb and the ease of operation was perfect for my armature skill level. I would recommend this product to the non-professional who simply wants great pictures and video.

If you are shopping for a DSLR camera, be aware -- this is not the one. It's rather a Sony's NEX camera in a SLR body. You should pay attention to the term "MIRRORLESS" in its description.

My daughter Loves taking pictures with this camera. Great for starters. Pictures come out vertu nice and crisp. So much more you can do than just pictures.

This camera has excelllent battery life. It has great value. it is basically a nex in a slr body. It's really fun to take pictures with. Feels like a much lighter version of my alpha 65. You get a viewfinder a camera with the kit lense for $399.99. As far as Image quality goes it varies depending on which lenses you are using better glass equals better pictures. All in all it's worth the price they are asking for it.

The price seems good at first but you have to pay a thousand dollars to get the zoom that my little sony has.This camera is harder to hold still for a quick shot than my little sony.

for that price this camera its awesomethe quality of the picture is pretty good you take a very cool picture in the night with out flashyou can install external flash and lens on the camera its lightcharging its little tricky but you can buy external battery charger to charge the batter quickly
