My friend introduced the Sigma brand. This is a good brand that I have been known by many people in the professional world for its affordable price.
I bought it and was eager to receive it very quickly. When I opened the box, I was very pleased that the lens was quite sturdy and looked great. However, the product did disappoint me when the focusing system was incorrect on the Canon 6D. I looked at everything for salvation but it failed because wool would be individually calibrated on Sigma's tool that I don't have.
I think this 35mm lens is not suitable for my Canon 6D.

This is an excellent portraiture lens, especially for those doing full-length portraits of costumes, groups, etc.. Unlike some wide aperture lenses which are virtually unusable wide open, I'm pleased to say that this lens is perfectly usable at f/1.4. Sharpness does improve a little when stopped down to f/2, but not enough to make f/1.4 unusable.
I'd go so far as to say this Sigma f/1.4 lens is probably better than the Canon f/1.4 L, even though the latter is nearly double the price.
So the question really is whether you're going to use apertures wider than f/2. If you're not bothered about wide apertures, then the Canon 35mm f/2 IS is probably the lens to get: it's £300 less than this lens and has IS. However, if you're after a portraiture lens, or you're shooting in low light where the wide f/1.4 aperture will be to your advantage, then this is definitely the lens to get.
I'd go so far as to say this Sigma f/1.4 lens is probably better than the Canon f/1.4 L, even though the latter is nearly double the price.

I needed a lens for my Canon EOS 200D specifically for product photography at home - where the natural light can often be poor but also really wanted to a blurred background. This is a fantastic lens - I'm not an expert photographer - I have an on-line retail business and need good lifestyle photographs - this lens fits the bill. Didn't want to spend double on the equivalent Canon lens and with this Sigma lens, I didn't need to. Very happy with my purchase! I've attached some photos - like I said, I'm not an expert like some of you guys but this look is exactly what I wanted to achieve.

Incredibly sharp, very fast focus and as with all Sigma lenses includes case and lens hood.
I used it on a 7D (i.e. 1.6x crop) and it's fantastic as a walkabout/portrait lens. I rarely take it off in fact.
It's heavy, much bigger than the non-Art old Sigma 30mm f/1.4, but looks and feels quality.
Absolutely nothing bad to say about this.

Love that lens! Pin sharp at f1.4. This lens creates such a nice inages at 1.4. Cant really explain it. Love it.

The Sigma Art lenses are sweet, but this 35mm 1.4 is just out of this world! So crisp, its my new go to lens for portraits just love it! Great price for a lens you wont ever leave behind! I shoot on Canon 5d MarkIV and its the perfect partner lens!

Love it! I have been wanting one for ages and because of some reviews I almost didn't get it till I spoke with some other photographer which does AMAZING pictures and she said she never problems with the auto focus which is the main complaint. Well, my personal experience has been awesome - my pictures are way better now ! The sharpeness is amazing .. If you want one, go for it !

I've had bad experiences with Sigma lenses in the past, but I can't fault this lens in any way. I'm amazed by the image quality, even wide open at f1.4. The build quality is superb and the lens firmware is updatable (via an optional accessory) to account for any possible future incompatibility and also allows you to tune the focus.

Really disappointed by this lens - I have a 50mm Art which is supreme and found a focusing issue with my lens. I had it replaced by amazon but the new one still isn’t right, so now having to send to Sigma to be calibrated. You shouldn’t need to buy a dock after forking out £640 to get a lens to work. Really disappointed in Sigma.

Excellent lens. Heavier than what I'm used to but it feels sturdy and wonderfully made. I've been using the Canon 1.8 50mm for years, and this lens feels like a more high end, versatile upgrade with stunning results. I use it mainly for fashion photography.

Have been testing my sigma 35 1.4 over 2 weekends with quite a lot of photography in 6c weather! The Lens is just awesome. it puts my Canon 50 1.4, Canon 85mm 1.8 & 10-22 UWA lenses to shame!
The sharpness and colour rendition is Just awesome! I'd doubt I would use the 10-22 again...seriously! It's nail-pin Sharp even at f1.4 and 100% crop on my Canon 7D body.
I had no issues of AF front/back focus and it worked straight out of the box like a charm. I read so many reviews of this lens on amazon's US site before buying and I am extremely satisfied I bought it off Amazon directly so I could send back for a refund if necessary!

What can I say, as widely reviewed it's amazing. So good I also ordered 20mm and 50mm, needs calibration so get a dock, other than that the bokeh is amazing.

Unfortunately my lens is being returned. When it focused properly, the shots were ultra sharp, but the lens I received turned out to have a serious back focusing problem when autofocusing which was not corrected by micro adjustments on the camera. Will be buying a canon lens instead.

Very nice lens and build quality, but I'm having a lot of focus issues and don't see why I should buy a completely separate usb dock thing to sort them out. It might find its way back to Amazon, which will be a shame because it's a great lens otherwise.

This is an amazing lens. I'm more than happy I bought it. Since I have it, I've used this lens most of the time. The focus is very fast and the quality of the pictures is beyond my expectations.
Although it is quite a heavy lens, I couldn't imagine not taking it with me when I go out shooting.
I recommend this to anyone.

Solid lens, bought for my canon eos m6 to use with an adapter (ef to ef-m) and despite the crop factor of 1.6x it’s still produces beautiful, sharp images. Great lens, well worth the buy.
