Великолепно
Easily installed in my generic brand Windows Home Server. Plenty of space now for shared files, backups of laptops, etc. I had to buy a SATA cable at our local computer recycling store for $2 but it fired right up.

According to Seagate, the drive you are selling is defective. The firmware site you reference is for RETAIL ONLY. Seagate is telling customers to contact YOU as the drives are OEM and not supported by Seagate. The firmware update FAILS as it is not applicable to OEM drives. Seagate's tools will tell you if your drive is affected and it DOES state these drives ARE AFFECTED.If seagate continues this level of support there won't be a Seagate left soon. I know I won't ever buy another seagate drive again... OEM or not.

I bought two of these recently. They came with jumpers on them, and I found all that did was limit them to 1.5 GB transfer. So I used a safety pin to remove them (the jumpers are tiny!) and then got the 300 GB transfer.I went to the Seagate site and updated the firmware (was a painless process), and then installed them in a fast RAID 0 stripe. They are very fast and work great.So watch out for the jumpers and be sure to update the firmware before you use them.

The "Seagate ST3500320AS 500GB 32MB 7200.11 SATA Hard Drive" has performed as expected for me. I bought it to replace a failed IOMega drive in an external USB case. The Seagate drive was fairly easy to install in the external case and the included software recognized and formatted the drive with no issues.***UPDATE***After reading another review, I checked my drive to see if it required a firmware update (the Seagate website has utilities to check) and it does. The update process is cumbersome.Not Recommended!CFH

This product isn't worth .02. I wish it were worth more as I own several of these drives. Unfortunately, the firmware upgrade from Seagate's website is ONLY for RETAIL drives. OEM part numbers are detected by the firmware update utility and are NOT allowed to be updated. Seagate says to contact the OEM (in this case amazon) and amazon says to contact Seagate. My opinion is seagate needs to provide a fix, but in their defense it is an OEM product and Amazon should be providing links to firmware updates.

Good afternoon, the present is for inform of which this model of hard disk presents/displays faults after being used a few months. I have seen some forums describing this same fault (S.M.A.R.T error). and this does not have solution to date. The fault in if it leaves the equipment congealed, or with the error indicated above. I put myself in contact with the store (ANTOnline) so that it offered a solution to me and they are not estan making responsible for the same. That is to say; I do not have any guarantee. I demand an answer since I do not have 3 months using the same and fails

Bought this when it was in the goldbox for a friend. He has 4 setup in a raid and it seems to be working great. They just work. Seagate has never steered me wrong.

Well, the hd on my 2 yr old HP mmpc died and I decided on this model to replace it. Installation was a breeze and my system was up and running in no time. So far, the drive is working fine-- fast and quite, and much larger than my old drive. If you do not need the SATA cables and controller, go for this one; it's only the bare drive and therefore, cheaper than buying the kit which includes the cables and controller. Nuf said.

This hard drive was received in good shape and has worked in my NAS box in a RAID-1 configuration. I have not profiled it for performance, but it is working flawlessly alongside another 1TB Seagate in the RAID-1 configuration.

Just a word of warning... Seagate pushed out a bad batch of these drives at the beginning of this year, and I had one that worked for 1 week and quit. I have since ordered a new one and it has been work for over a month and am very happy with its performance.

I bought two drives to RAID together in a NAS to allow redundancy and easy access from multiple computers. Both drives were placed in the D-Link DNS-321 and connected to my Gigabit wired home LAN. So far, I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. The hard drive died after 2.5 months. When I brought it to the data recovery lab the whole place was filled with the Seagate 500DB 7200.11. They all have the same SMART problem where they keep hanging forever. I got it with a brand new Dell PC (last time I buy Dell) and because it died more than 21 days later Dell have only agreed to send a refurbished replacement (Western Digital).

I've installed over 20 Seagate 1 TB drives into our servers and for an "enterprise class" drive, this one is fails just as often as our standard Seagate drives. For us, it has been no more dependable than the cheaper 7200.11 standard 1 TB drives. Seagate does have a good warranty/replacement program however. I've went through the process many times.

Recently I bought this item. I also bought SATA to IDE converter as I have IDE interface. The integration is very simple. Now I enjoy a extended space for all my photos and documents.

This drive performs without fail. I have seven of these 1 GB hard drives and all have been excellent. I use these formatted with a Mac so I can speak only for Mac performance.

This does not include SATA cables and they dropped the price a day after I ordered one. The local computer store is charging $8 for the cable but I need to get this operational.

So far the two ST31000340NS drives I bought have worked fine. I was less than impressed with Amazon's packing of the drives. The drives were in their simple plastic packing shell and then placed into a box about 8 x 6 x 4 with no packing. Basically the drives could slam around in that box through the shipping trip. Usually Amazon is good about packing so to see an item like this without packing in its box kind of put me off from buying something like this again from them again.

Shipping was sooner than promised and hard drive works without a flaw. I had to download the installation utility from Seagate's web site but that was no problem. After my computer recognized the new drive, formatting was simple and now I have an extra tera-byte of disk storage. I am using this drive for a 4-camera security system and now I can save 6 weeks of security video without having to write over or delete video files.

not much to say. It was good while it lasted. Vista began acting weird until it wouldn't boot anymore. Luckily I have two more hard drives, a 160 gb seagate and a 40 gb western digital ( I kept this one from the first computer I ever bought like 10 years ago and it still works!!). I've been reading a lot of negative reviews about seagate hard drives and with my experience I will not buy another seagate drive ever again.

The dern thing is almost TOO quiet. Just intalled 2 of them raid 1. I can't tell when they're spinning. WOW!If you are installing in an older pc, like me, that doesn't support sata 3.0, you will need a jumper (not included) to change to sata 1.5.

It bricked right around the six month mark. My BIOS won't even recognize that it exists anymore. I've switched SATA cables and power plugs and tried it in a completely different machine and it still isn't recognized and so I'm reasonably certain that it just plain failed. I am a complete backup fanatic and it is still under warranty so this is nothing more than a slight hassle for me personally, but beware!

I'm surprised more people have not posted about what a disaster this product is, with many many early failures. There is a very long and heated thread on Seagate forums:[...]Mine: Installed 24 Nov 2008, died 19 Jan 2009, with about 60 hours of video files I had copied from family camcorder tapes at 1x.Too bad to see a company that used to have a fine reputation going down the toilet.
