NOT IMPRESSED

If you are looking at this and you are considering buying this mobile device i would strongly recommend you not to. I have had several problem with the phone. I recently took my phone to samsung to get it repaired as the phone was no longer usuable (i must say at this point, i am usually someone who uses phones for atleast a year and a half) But for someone reason this phone has had major problems, mainly internal things like the phone crashing, the camera not working properly and more recently the voice receiver not working meaning people not being able to hear me AT ALL,Like really? Its a phone to call people on is it not?

Now after taking my phone to samsung they have said that my phone is not under 'UK' warranty because its a model from another country. I was furious and disappointed that such a company would falsely advertise a product on a UK based website and not even hint that its not covered by warranty.

I am currently having to go through a battle with them and amazon claims to get a full refund as it makes no sense having a phone that if its damaged you have to send it back to hong kong for it to be fixed and thats IF they can even fix it. This also means i have to go a minimum of 10-12days without a mobile device.

If you are thinking about getting a phone from this seller i would advise you to go else where and be careful to fall for the trap like i did, as there are other companies just like this that advertise on amazon selling customers false dreams.

I am very disappointed and have definitely learnt a valuable lesson. I didn't think amazon worked alongside companies like this!

Great phone and gorgeous screen

After owning this for several months it's still almost all I'd want in a phone. The screen is fabulous.

I decided to encrypt mine for added security. Not sure it was a good idea as it now has a log in screen at boot up and then does a second boot after the password. Also it seems more sluggish.

As I switch it off a lot the logging in is a bit of a nuisance and to add to that it always prompts you to ensure the usb cover is on. The usb cover is a nuisance as well. It has got fingerprint recognition but I have some doubts about using it, so haven't.

There were 2 updates to the phone software recently and they worked well. I read they were security fixes.

There's also a lot of stuff on the phone I don't want and can't remove. Nothings perfect so another phone will just have other foibles. Overall this is a great phone as was my S2 which it replaced after years of good service.

BE VERY CAREFUL - DO NOT BUT FROM MARKET DEAL

I upgraded from the S4 and I'm very impressed with the phone, if not for a few software limitations that weren't carried forward from the previous versions. I went for this instead of the new one as I like to be able to add SD cards and change the battery at will.

I bought my first phone from Market Deal and it was not brand new, it was a refurbished model and the battery life was 12-14 hours with power saving activated. Please be careful as to where you buy it from. Amazon do a brand new model for £30 more expensive - not worth the lottery if you ask me.

Absolutely love my phone

Absolutely love my phone, haven't had it that long still learning the basics with it, but I highly recommend it if your not waiting for the S6 to come out, I wanted a phone that will last me a couple of years and hopefully this phone will do the job, was a bit worried about the shipping of the phone from America but soon as I contacted them, they reassured me that it was on its way and came 2 weeks before I was expecting it. It may be complicated for older people to figure out but otherwise no faults nothing. Well fingers crossed nothing happens :) x

Also the price being £100 cheaper than anywhere else seems a bit too good to be true

I was a bit weary when ordering this phone after reading some reviews claiming it was not the European model. Also the price being £100 cheaper than anywhere else seems a bit too good to be true, which often means it is not genuine.

But I ordered this from iheadphones, knowing they are fulfilled by Amazon incase there were any problems. But there was no need to worry, it is a genuine S5 European model, and I have also had a proper look into it to make sure it was not a fake. Everything is fine with it.

When ordering this phone make sure you check that it is coming from a UK company, not a Hong Kong one, as a lot of them are shipped from Hong Kong, I can only guess that the people who have received the non-European models ordered it from one of these Asian countries without realising it.

I have found this a really great phone, good screen

Bought this phone from Amazon Warehouse and have it for over a year now and I have experienced no problems, so I thought I would I would leave some feedback.
I have found this a really great phone, good screen, water resistant, speedy cpu, good battery life etc and if you are like me and don't chase the latest tech then this phone is still a great option.
However on the negative side I don't think Samsung could have made the phone construction feel more cheaper, lots of plastic used.
I would still highly recommend this phone.

Great Phone but some help needed

I have had the phone 1 day and so far so good. It's a lovely phone.
I would have liked some help with getting the Chinese default language reset into English. Perhaps the seller could put something in the package ? I blundered my way through it and found a small grey drop down menu symbol in the middle of the Chinese, which luckily was the language menu. I then had a Chinese keyboard so by pressing "HK" on the keyboard I got "EN" English.
Someone has alluded to the fact that we may have no guarantee with a ZHU1AN12 model. Have I ?
The seller was very quick sending the phone and used an efficient courier service.

The withdrawal of an FM radio tuner capability was very disappointing. This is something I do occasionally use to listen to BBC Radio 4 while out and about.

I have added a Kiwibird extended battery pack to increase battery capacity to a sensible (>1 day) level.

The handset as delivered seemed to be preconfigured for the German market, but the hardware is the same as the UK so this was easily sorted out.

Otherwise and on the whole I am very satisfied with the device, which replaces my earlier Galaxy S3 handset.

Great Phone - bigger than I thought it would be...

I received this phone the other day, it started quickly and the initial signing in etc took no time at all. This phone came with a European Samsung plug and a separate adapter for the wall, which is not a complaint but was a surprise and led to me watching videos on youtube about how to identify a fake S5, this phone did not tick a single box and I have concluded that it is just a European model. The phone is unlocked and works well on both GiffGaff and TescoMobile. The Camera is amazing, the screen is amazing and can take a 128gb memory card so pretty much has unlimited memory, which is why I chose this phone over the S6.

A great deal to save £40

This is a preliminary review, 1 day in from receipt. I ordered this as a warehouse deal. Described at "repackaged". It arrived in an original S5 box, all accessories in place, all protection film in place, and not a blemish on it. A great deal to save £40!
The phone itself looks great, very neat, sleek. Crystal clear and bright colour on the screen. Easy to set up, and better signal than on my previous S4.
Will up date more later when i've had better use.

Great phone

Had this phone for about a month now after spending a long time deliberating as to whether to buy (previous phone HTC one HD) in the main because of potential problems with it not being compatable with the UK networks rasied by other reviewers. It was no problem, all worked fine straight out of the box. As others have said, the phone is lightning fast, screen is fantastic as is the camera, yes you need to be careful with the charging port cover but that is going to be necessary to help with the water resistance. Its an expensive phone and as such most will treat it with respect and care so it should not be a problem. It does everything I want it to do and a load more I have yet to discover I'm sure. Delighted overall.

Misleading advertisement product not genuine!

I've given one star because i cannot seem to give ZERO!

Boy has this purchase been a pain. First the delivery was delayed i did not get the phone until a few days after the estimated date, which normally wouldn't bother me so much had it not been a birthday present for my daughter. Next the package was just left in the middle of my driveway for all to see, there was not attempt made by the delivery guy to knock on the door, in fact the man exited his vehicle with the package, walked towards my home, looked at his watch and then all around (presumably to have a look if anyone was watching) and proceeded to throw the package from the pavement into my driveway...yes i said THROW! I was in the middle of getting ready for work when i noticed the delivery vehicle pull up, so I was lucky enough to see the everything unfold. This is not something i would normally expect from Amazon as they are the ones who fulfilled the shipment, normally they provided a 1st class service, one can only assume I was due a bad experience.

Now onto the phone, and the biggest issue of all the charger! To start with the charger within the box is an S4 charger even though i purchased and S5. This in itself proves the phone was not new and the package has been opened prior to delivery. I opened the package began following the instructions on how to set up the phone, as soon as i plugged in the charger i heard a worrying noise (spark/ small bang) at which point the phone stopped charging. Having inspected the charger plug itself i noticed it was extremely hot and smelt of burnt plastic. This is a major safety issue, had i not been next to the phone at the time, god knows what could have happened. Furthermore, a closer inspections of the charger plug leads me to believe this may be counterfeit as there are major differences (safety warning & CE mark) when it is compared to a genuine something which was verified by Samsung themselves. I have tried to charge the phone with another charger and it works perfectly fine, therefore the only conclusion is the charger supplied with the phone is faulty/ counterfeit.

Having compared the box and its contents to my sister's, purchased directly from Samsung, its clear that DMCO have re-packaged the S5 phones with S4 accessories, charger, usb wire, headphones, and that's why the phone was so cheap.

This is the first time i have written a review and its safe to say I am very disappointed with the product (as well as the service from DMCO) and I just hope no other customers experience the same problems. Obviously having purchased and paid for a new S5, I feel I have been mislead.

The phone itself seems to be working fine and is everything i expected, but this experience has led me to re-think any future purchases from the marketplace and Amazon itself.

Phone excellent but comes with unnecessary apps.

Very clear big display. Battery lasts about 2 days which beats my daughters iPhone hands down.it charges up in approximately an hour and I believe that an extended life battery is available if required.
The deal clincher for me was the replaceable battery, so it is feasible to carry a spare. I was considering the HTC one M8 or the latest iPhone, neither of which have that, so bought this because a phone is more useful if it is not constantly on charge. Only had it a month but so far very pleased with it.
The only slight annoyance is the amount of unrequired nonsense apps it comes with, they update themselves as well !! I don't know if It is possible to get rid of them. It's on my list of things to do.

Brilliant phone

Had an S3 previous - wasn't sure if I was wasting my money, but this phone is excellent, super fast, good size, nice screen, keyboard for typing is so much better than previous ones. So definitely would consider this significant upgrade. Also 4G is great - much better. Overall really impressed. Got it on O2 and so far so good. I had excellent customer service (one small piece of advice I discovered send a 'long text' cost 33p which I was surprised about considering I had thousands of texts for free - apparently it converts it to picture message or something. Not a big deal but something that I was not aware of - so send text as 2 messages - 160 characters limit.

Brilliant.

Very happy with the phone. It came special delivery, firmly packed and 2 days early. I was a little disappointed with the phone not coming with headphones.

The phone did not have a smudge, scratch or mark and it was also unlocked.

The phone itself is fantastic. The screen resolution is amazing, the feel of the phone may at first be large but you learn to grow with it.
Its fast, reliable and very easy to use as well as having a lot of good apps and the like on the phone.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the phone and the service. Would definitely recommend.

Best phone on the market

Ignore the people saying the phone does not work on anew EU netword, it came the next day after ordering and was able to start using it straight away. This phone is so much better than any iPhone, admitingly it takes a few hours to get used to the Android operating system but once you've worked it out its a truly amazing experience everything about this phone is amazing from the water resistance to the camera. The only down side to this phone is the speaker on the back nut seeing as very few people would use it then there's no problem, the speaker just sounds low quality but aside from that this is the best phone on the market I am extremely satisfied I do recommend this phone to anyone

I was pretty disappointed.

I was pretty disappointed with the performance of this phone. It cost three times what I had paid for phones previously and it lagged just as badly as the phone it replaced which came out the year earlier. The fingerprint reader is also unreliable and Samsung never thought to actually make use of one of the primary advantages of an AMOLED screen which is to use black backgrounds to save battery power. After two years of use, the microUSB port seems to have widened so now the cable makes very temperamental connections and a nudge to the phone can electrically disconnect it.

good phone , buy it

galaxy S5
had now around 6 months
i bought an extreme case for it, i always do. my job in the building industry means it is a must
the phone has performed as well as i expected it to if not better.
i would recommend this phone. the photos are of a very good quality, the sat nave is exceptional with very good voice control
do not use the hands free voice software though as this is terrible. just use the google voice recognition as this is good.
i use the google voice recognition every day to check spellings, find out information, search for websites, navigation, etc
just a good all round phone

Brilliant!

Mine came from Eastern Europe (in English) so I had to delete some of the pre installed bloatware but it works brilliantly here in the UK. It's a great phone, completely replaced most of my electronic devices for one sturdy unit. I'm 100% happy with it except that sometimes on reinstalling or updating it tries to reinstall the default bloatware, but no boggy.

I just love it, I always buy my new phones from Amazon and once again I am not disappointed it is a peach.
I had to make up my mind wether to buy an iPhone or the new Galaxy 5 and I am so glad I got this one as it is amazing and I really am pleased with it.
Highly recommended guys give it a go. My only comment would be that it seemed to take ages to arrive but I am sure that is because there was a BH weekend in the middle and I couldn't wait to get it.

Poor considering the price

As a phone it's mostly ok but there are a number of very annoying things.

1) Sometimes I can't receive incoming calls when I'm on wifi - they just go straight to voicemail, which is extremely irritating
2) The charger cover has now broken twice, despite me being very careful with it - certainly not designed to be open and closed to charge the phone
3) The wireless chargers are bulky, not very efficient and sometimes stop charging if they're not quite in the correct place, on more than one occasion I've set my phone to charge on the wireless charger overnight (and it was charging when I went to sleep) only to find it stopped charging overnight and I wake up with a phone at half charge
4) Despite Samsung having apparently released Lollipop a few weeks back, I still can't update mine
5) On a number of occasions something goes haywire on my phone using up huge amounts of battery, I notice this when my phone becomes quite warm in my pocket - restarting it seems to be the only way to get around this.

Was good to try something different but I think I'll go back to an iphone after this.

Great price for an incredible phone

This phone has one of the best cameras, plus you never have to worry about it getting wet. It is 200% waterproof: I have gone to the pool with it and nothing happens. But probably the best feature is the heartbeat monitor, it's really accurate and addictive. This phone is a must if you want to stay in shape. The downside is the battery duration, this phone is so powerful that it drains the battery in a flash. But luckily you have good power saving modes that help you counter this problem.

Samsung Galaxy S5

upgrading from a Galaxy S4 I decided to go for the S5 rather than the S6 as you are able to insert a micro sd card into the S5 but not the S6 and you are also able to change the battery in the S5 should there be a problem with it, but not the S6. The S5 is so much faster than the S4 and the battery lasts me for more than a day, where the S4 had to be topped up during the day. All round, I find it a much improved phone, and now that it is a lot cheaper than the S6 good value for money.

I have always been cautious when buying phones online due to previously buying one that never worked, but the reasonable price of this S5 made it a must have.I ordered the phone late Wednesday night and it had arrived that Saturday by using only free delivery! Impressive!
I upgraded from a s3 and having used a mix of androids and iPhones I would never go back to i Phones after this!
The phone is brilliant and has so many durable features and the battery life is also very good!
Very happy with this purchase

Be careful.

Excellent service. Phone is the 'f' model so it works perfectly in the UK, I'm sat in my house in South Devon right now using it. I ordered this on Sunday and it was here at lunch on Tuesday, the guys even sellotaped a sweet in the box for me.

Update.
The charger they sent with my phone caught fire and melted. I was asleep at the time.
I've emailed you and have heard nothing.
Not good enough, I'm speaking with Samsung tomorrow.

This is not the 4G edition ... It's SM-G900H the international edition .. Be carefull

It's 4 stars for the phone itself ... It's really good and the screen is amazing and sharp. One problem with the description of Amazon is:
This is not the 4G edition it's the international one, i.e., you can't use it with 4G network. Also, it has octa-core Exynos processor not the quad-core snapdragon 801. The seller was not clear about this issue. I got the phone from Smart-deals seller.

So now I have a nice slim brick which has no warranty and cost me ...

Oh dear. After just over 6 months of use this so called "Galaxy S5 SM-G9000F" developed a fault and now permanently reboots itself. Having followed multiple How-To's on the internet to resolve the issue (which is quite common) I decided to cut my losses and phone Samsung directly. After giving them the Serial and IMEI Number they promptly told me the phone is not an EU model, so I have no warranty. Strange I thought, but proceeded to reset the phone in other imaginative ways - and suddenly stumbled upon the ACTUAL model number described by the OS - turns out this is a Chinese SM-G9006V. Odd that this isn't on the packaging. So now I have a nice slim brick which has no warranty and cost me a fortune. This wasn't sold directly from Amazon and surprise, surprise, the 3rd-party store 'Prime Shopping' no longer exists, what a shocker.

It's just a phone.

It's faster than the previous phone I had (also Samsung). But the fingerprint scanner is rubbish and not very good at recognising.

Had it a while now and it's starting to slow down a bit and freeze every now and again...but only since the update a few months ago.

I think that if I'd paid any more for it I wouldn't be happy. I'm now considering moving over to an iPhone.

Great Upgrade from S3

I upgraded from S3 to S5 and received mine on Monday. I have tested most if its features since than and it is definitely a Great upgrade.

The Phone is super fast and Samsung Gifts has great apps for Free to go with it

The Fingerprint scanner works like a charm and havent failed me even once.

The Camera is undoubtedly great and the HDR mode is amazing.

I can easily use it with one hand and i don't even have very big hands :)

The Display is Super, just Super

Previously had a nokia lumia and hated the quality of the camera. The camera on the Samsung is excellent. Overall, the phone is easy to use and has loads going for it. Didn't go for the s6 as it was way too expensive.

superb phone

I love this phone. I use it a lot when cooking something in the microwave that needs a timer. It is so easy to use SVoice by pressing the Home button twice and saying start timer for 15 minutes. Sending text message is also easy using SVoice just say text (someones name) and the message. The screen is brighter than my old Samsung Galaxy S2 and easier to read, It is by far the best phone I ever bought.

Better than the S6

The S5 is better than the S6 in my, and others, opinions. The S6 has gone down the Apple way with a battery you can't change, and it does not last as long, and you can't add more memory, what is Samsung doing!! If you have the S5 I wouldn't upgrade to the S6, wait for the S7 and see how that turns out. you of course may think differently.

Samsung Galaxy S5

This phone is a great device. First time I've owned a Samsung and love it already. Smart features and cool tricks are amazing on this phone. In terms of screen size and quality it's perfect, nice size for texting and operating with one hand. The super AMOLED screen I think is the best on the market at the moment, this works well with the 16MP camera where pictures and videos look even crisper.

Very good phone and seller

It's a very good phone, running very smooth and quick. Even though it meant to be only slightly bigger than S4, it's not a pocket sized phone (at least for female's pocket!). It was a good buy.

I wasn't sure whether to buy the phone from a high street shop. But I'm glad I have ordered it from this seller as it's much cheaper than a high street shop and the product is the same.

I bought two if these phones. Strangely they came in different packaging and had different problems with setup and configuration on each. I wonder if these were international versions being passed on to the UK market? I've of them was pre-set in the Chinese language set..

WARNING! Any repairs required and you have to airmail product to Luxembourg!!!

Further to my original review in May 2015 (below), the phone became dysfunctional in January 2016. Still under guarantee so contacted the supplier. Very prompt response which included returns label, However, the returns address is Luxembourg!!! Not at all happy about having to incur airmail costs in excess of £49.00 to have the fault investigated. I have informed the supplier of my discontent as nowhere in the product description is this mentioned!!

May 2015 - So far, so good. Has met all expectations to date. Fingers crossed it'll stay that way. Certainly miles better than my previous Nokia!

Best phone I've owned

Best phone I've ever owned - having installed CM 12.1 the day I got it, this beats any other phone I've ever had before. The water/dust resistance element is a great security to have, and the phone is SNAPPY with INCREDIBLY GOOD battery life 5-6 hours screen on time during a full day's use is easily achieved. If you ever need more battery life than that it's easy and cheap to buy and use the spare battery kit which is also available from sellers on Amazon.
