I have been using these for about a month to man the phones via Skype in a relatively noisy environment and I do have to say they are comfortable, reliable, have great talk time and can be recharged. They can be recharged via USB or by using a min-USB cell-phone charger (Blackberry) which I have found to be most convenient. I leave them on for about 8+ hours and they do get me through the business day, an overall great value for the money.

This is a great headset. Very comfortable to wear, even with glasses. Sound quality is excellent, controls easy. Does not have the range I expected, but close. A bit heavy but not bad. Overall the best headset I've ever had.

Call me picky, the the bulk of these headphones might be considered a step backwards. I have black and white pictures of my dad wearing massive headphones like this on a ham radio during the Vietnam war. All I need is a little face shield and I can play fighter pilot, or get some hair extensions to wrap around them and have my very own do it yourself Princess Leia instant hairstyle for Halloween. The sound is very good, but I don't know if the bulkiness of this set is worth the trade off.Your computer doesn't have to be bluetooth enabled to use these; it comes with a bluetooth receiver that plugs into your USB port for that. Just make sure you've got more than one USB port free, however; because you also have to charge the headset via a USB port, and it isn't exactly a quick process. After running some tests on them last night, I've got them plugged into a USB port charging and after 10 hours they're still not fully charged.The range on these is about what they say on the box-- 40 feet, unless you go behind a wall or refrigerator, at which point they will begin to cut out on you. This is for when you want to walk around the room or nearby area with your computer in range. It is nice to not be tethered to my PC-- how many times have you tried to turn around with a headset on only to cause a minor disaster on your desk with the wires pulling everything around? It's also got on board controls for power, volume, and even skipping ahead to the next song.The phones also double as a cell phone receiver but i did not test this aspect of the device as I have no intention of walking around the house with the modern day equivalent of a satellite dish on my head. If shutting out background noise is an issue for you this might be a great solution, but I need to be able to hear the world around me in my home office. The other thing to remember about these phones is that you are limited to devices which already have bluetooth capability, or devices with a USB port. Unless your MP3 player came with bluetooth (and a lot of them probably didn't) you won't be able to use this headset with it.I can see how this might fit the needs of some home users, but for me this wasn't a hit. Overall this is an OK set of headphones, but with limited capabilities, slow charging time, and the bulky throwback to 1967, I think that there are better choices out there.

Although this unit is better than being tethered to your computer as you communicate, the range of it is not near as high as I expected. I cannot go 10 yards to heat coffee without loosing the signal. The sound quality and voice recognition is great but it is limited in mobility.

If you need a clear headset that allows you to walk around, this is a good choice. The only small downside is that it's somewhat bulky for my taste but that won't stop me from using it.

I read several reviews on this product before buying for my home office. It doesn't really work very well for VoIP applications. The wireless range was basically to the door of the room. Anything other than that and it cut off. I was expecting 40 feet and I barely got 10 feet. It works well for just listening to music and streaming though.

I use my computer with Naturally speaking 8 hours a day. I need a wireless headset with good sound quality and a good noise cancelling mic. Always trusted Plantronics name. Extremely disappointed with the two headsets we bought. They run out of battery in about 1 1/2 hours. I cannot stop and charge for an hour every 1 1/2 hours. Very unprofessional headset in my opinion. My complaint about the Logitech wireless was the fact that it also could not go 8 hours, but it at least went 5 or 6 and then you could plug in and use it on the charger. Plantronics makes you stop using it. When you change headsets with Naturally speaking you have run mic setup all over. May be good for games, but not professional enough for use at work.

I have had my Plantronics .Audio 995 headset for about 2 months now and it worked fine until now. The drivers for the USB adapter have suddenly changed from "Plantronics" to "Avnera." I contacted Plantronic's "Customer Support" with my issue the lady then transferred me to "Technical Support" I'll give them credit there was no hold time at all.. kudos. But once I got the "Technical Support" guy on the line all I heard was his kids in the background yelling and then he was just reading the same manual that I had been reading and googling the same information that I had googled.I advise anyone to NOT buy from Plantronics it's bad business. Logitech has better service if you should ever need it.

Its only drawback is the 8 hour limit on a charge, for a heavy gaming day it doesn't make it to the end of the day.

Plantronics is usually expensive, so I was surprised to find a reasonably priced wireless headset with the Plantronics name on it. At over [...], it wasn't cheap, but lots of lesser-quality brands sell for [...] or more. I was not disappointed! The sound is great, and the noise cancellation is AMAZING. I work from home and I use this headset with Skype as my primary telephone. There is a lot of background noise from the kids, radio, TV, and other sources. In fact, I used to have a window A/C unit in my home office, which sounded like a jet on the phone before I started using this headset. But with it, most of the people I talk to say they can't hear a thing, except me, during my phone calls. Every now and then they will hear a baby crying "in the distance", but most of the time it is very quiet. Sometimes they think I'm on mute when I'm not. Aside from that, the headset is quite comfortable, and I like the fact that it mutes the microphone when the boom is raised. The battery life is also quite impressive, too. I've been on on-line training sessions for 4 or 5 hours at a time with no problem. It is quite adequate for my needs as long as I keep it plugged in and charging when I'm not using it.I can't recommend this headset enough! But I guess I should point out a couple of things that could be improved.If I had anything negative to say, it would be that the all-plastic construction seems kind of flimsy, but as long as you don't plan on stuffing it in a suitcase or backpack often, it should last a long time. Also, I wish it would beep or something when the battery is too low. It seems to just disconnect without warning, and there have been times when I've been on a call and the other party thought I'd hung up because my headset got disconnected.

This thing is awesome! If you're looking for a headset (i.e. with microphone) to use with your computer this is the way to go. It's a bit bulky, but definitely the best wireless USB headset on the market at this point.I looked pretty thoroughly, but there's no over-the-ear bluetooth headset that has the speech quality AND USB connection. Most of the over-the-ear models are designed to be used with wired phone systems or cell phones so they don't have a USB dongle. Also, if you read the reviews carefully none of the bluetooth models have the speech quality required for applications like Dragon Naturally Speaking.I was also concerned that this headset used proprietary 2.4 GHz technology instead of bluetooth / DECT, but it works perfectly with my b/g/n router, microwave, and 2.4 GHz portable phones.Just plug the USB dongle into your computer, turn on the headset and away you go. No software, no messing around. The controls on the headset are well designed and very functional.Granted, this beast looks like you're going to suit up for Apollo 15, but it's actually very comfortable. I don't particularly like big leather-type pads on my ears because they get a little warm, but these are very comfortable.Range is EXCELLENT. My computer sits in the home office on the top floor of my 2-1/2 storey house. I can be talking to someone on Skype or dictating into Dragon Naturally Speaking and wander down to the main floor in the kitchen, grab a coffee and never lose the connection.Yes, you read that correctly - dictating into Dragon while I walk downstairs, turn on the microwave, wander around, and go back up stairs. When I return the document is perfect. Surprisingly, my voice recognition score is BETTER with the Plantronics 995 than the headset that came with Dragon Naturally Speaking. This was a very pleasant bonus.Once in a while when I forget to turn them off and they're out of power I have to resort to using my wired headset or wired earbuds. What a NIGHTMARE! It's unbelieveable how much you depend on the wireless after a couple of day. There's no going back to wired for me - EVER.

Under tech specs it says "Noise-cancelling microphone includes fast-mute technology."Not so. Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.1 said that the audio quality was inadequate, and the results were accordingly awful. I've been using a corded Plantronics DSP400 Foldable Multimedia Headset (physically a piece of garbage, but audio quality is excellent), and there is no comparison.If you only want this for VOIP, it may be OK; I didn't even bother trying it with music, because if it won't support dictation it's worthless to me.

I loved the sound quality and I liked being able to walk around. There are several problems although. Very bulky and they make you sweat. I lost signal after about 20 feet, mind you this was going from a front office to a kitchen so the signal would have to travel around two walls. The signal was only about one foot behind the first wall but I guess that was just enough to not allow it to work. Also, if you hold the power button for too long, it messes them up. I had to call tech support and they walk you thru a series of steps to correct. Also, found out the battery is not replaceable, so once battery dies [...] down the drain. I will stick with my wired headset and have to stay put while on the phone. Would also be nice if they would shut off automatically if not being used but they don't. Also, found out you cannot charge while using, another downer. Dealing with [...] was a good experience and they were real helpful and made it easy to return.

This is my second headset. In fact it's for a friend and now i'll get two more for other friends. I like the ability of being able to walk around your house while talking in MSN, skype or whatever voip software you have.What i don't like ? not being able to use them while charging. I wonder why. Even cell phones could (although i've heard you shouldn't) be used while charging. Also, although it's not my concern by now, i wonder what will happen when the battery goes out completely. I've used it for over a year in a twice per week basis and i charge it almost always once a week. It's still working and i've never had problem with it. Only at the beginning for sure. IN general it allows me to speak dor during 2- hours with no problem. It's just that i wonder what will happen in the future. I'd like to be able to change the battery.Else, all is great. 10 mts range (40 ft), good quality. Some complain about it being a bit too tight which after two hours could hurt your ears. It's true at the beginning. But after one year either you get used to it or they're wide now :) Anyway for [...] bucks, it's the best i could find. I'm not sure but i think the closest match cost about $110. And after all they work for what i need: being able to talk with my friends in other countries while reading the newspaper at the toilette :)

I'm a fan of Plantronics after finding their Bluetooth headset to be higher quality than any of the several headsets I used prior. These headphones are up to par with Plantronics' other products and the design and ease of use impressed me!I expected to install software that added plug-ins to all my apps, but the way the device works is you just plug the USB receiver in. That's it! Skype instantly recognizes the wireless headset's mic and earphones, and iTunes and other programs start diverting sound to your headphones when you close and reopen them (any running programs will use whatever speakers they started out using instead of the headset).The audio quality is solid. Definately better than most ear buds and other cheap headsets, but not quite up to par with headsets costing several times as much (as you'd expect).The mic is crisp too, producing voice quality on Skype that's on par with my iPhone (which has the Skype app installed to test) and I like how the mic folded up when not in use.I also love that the headset comes with a rechargable battery (charged via mini-USB), and I found that the controls on the left ear are a brilliant touch! You can adjust the volume, pause, and fast forward through songs all with a quick move of your arm to your ear.I usually use wired headsets, and it feels freeing to be able to walk around the room listening to music, not having to navigate to iTunes with my mouse to fast forward as I get tangled in a headphone's cord. In fact, I'd actually use this headset even if I didn't need a microphone for just the awesome wireless headphone capabilities!If I had to dig deep for a negative, I guess it would be the comfort. There are cushy pads on the headband (nice!) and on your ears, but the pads on your ears are designed to go ON TOP of your ears instead of AROUND them. It basically smooshes your ears to the side of your head, which you don't mind at first with the soft pads, but it gets uncomfortable after awhile.Overall, it's hard to find a flaw with these and I'd wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a headset with or without a mic! It would be hard to design this headset any better and it's a great value!

I bought this headset for PC telephony. The fist unit could not hold a charge for more than one hour. The second unit worked fine.Charge the headset, plug the dongle, switch the headset on and it's done, instantly. This is not a bluetooth device. The headset works only with its dongle.The sound quality is good. Microphone sound is very good as my listeners told me; no echo, static, tunnel sound etc.Battery life could be better, particularly in talk mode. Better to switch it off between calls if you talk a lot. Switch it off by pressing the power button for two seconds.For a headset optimized for telephony (Skype, Yahoo IM) I would have expected a button to accept or reject incoming calls. Not a big deal though.

Kind of bulcky compared with Logitech ClearChat Wireless USB Headset, but what's more is it doesn't automatically work on MACs without having to go to audio program and select the unit for output there... And you have to do that every time you unplug the USB or switch to your speakers. So, if you are on MAC, DON'T buy this unit.Their support line don't seem to know much about MAC either. So, I told them they should remove their claim that its compatible with Mac, but offcourse that won't probably happen..... just disappointing.

I have Windows XP on my desktop. Recently I purchased a new Gateway laptop which came with Windows 7. I purchased this new wireless headset to use with my new laptop (Windows 7). The headset is not compatible with Windows 7. Had I known this, I would not have purchased this headset.

I purchased this headset to use with SKYPE.I run 3 businesses from home and spend lots of time on the phone. After using a wired headset with a cordless phone for several years I decided to make the digital switch.When I got this headset it was truly "plug n play". It was a snap to set up and I was making calls with it within 2 minutes.OH MY GOSH!!! The sound quality is amazing. I have had dozens of comments about how good that call quality is, most comments are something like "It's like you're standing right in front of me". Since most my my clients are senior citizens this speaks volumes for the quality.The headset is very comfortable. I would probably liked to have had larger ear cups as I am a large framed man with large ears but it has not been a problem.The music reproduction is phenominal. And with the mute feature you get absolutely zero backgrouond noise.I have easily exceeded the 8 hour battery life several times. It just keeps going and charges quickly. But you don't want to forget to charge it over night.Now for the negative. The best range I have gotten so far is about 28'. I am going to get a USB extension cable and try mounting the broadcast unit up on the wall rather than just stuck into the laptop sitting on its stand. I believe that will add 10-15' to the range. If that is the case I will have nothing bad to say about this.This may be the best online purchase I have ever made.I highly recommend this headset.

Good sound and quality. Very long battery life.Wireless range is good enough for me, I never go out of the room while chatting so I haven't tested that out to full extent.Sucks that you can't talk while charging.

Pros: Great sound quality of both microphone and headphones. Very comfortable fit for long-term wearing, on both the headband and ears. More noise cancelling than other headsets.Cons: Larger than other headsets. Very short charging cable (1 foot, mini-USB). Cannot use while charging. Somewhat confusing and erratic light indicators while charging. A bit wobbly on the arms where earphones slide into head band.

I have to agree with other reviewers, this is currently the best available USB wireless headset on the market. It is very comfortable to wear and lightweight enough that I am not overly conscious of them being there. The sound is excellent with the over ear coverage. The headset is extremely easy to install and use with MS Windows. Charge first using the USB to headset cable. Install the USB wireless transmitter and Windows (XP SP3 in this case) will install the device drivers and enable direct PC to headset sound.I too wish the battery was replaceable and that you could also use the headset whilst charging. Apart from those minor although important shortcomings, this headset rocks and was definitely worth the wait it took to get it delivered. Despite the quietness of this headset, I'd like Plantronics to add noise canceling too to eliminate any extraneous background noise, although that would likely increase the cost even more.

If I say I love them will the price go up? this head set is one of the best and worth every cent, clear, comportable and I am not tied to my computer what more can I say.
