Works with Tello!
Good phone for Seniors. Nice and light weight. Comes with earbuds and a charger too. Bought this to work with Tello. You have to buy a Tello SIM card first (you can get them here on Amazon for $1-$2) insert the Sim card in the back of the phone then you activate the sim card by going to Tello's website. Enter the activation code on the sim card packaging, pick your plan (I got the $6 a month plan) and then you are good to go! Took less than 30 minutes to complete.

Only if you’re looking for a temporary mobile
I needed a mobile phone for my travels… considering the price, it’s not bad at all. Might be a bit difficult for the new generation youths to work out.

Returning because i can't save contacts
It's getting harder & harder to find a dumbphone & I like this one except that I'm having the issue many others have mentioned where i can't save my contacts. When i go to that option, the screen just says "working on it." Ughhhh. I have to return for that reason :(
I bought this to use w/ my Mint Mobile service (it does work) while in Mexico in case I'm mugged due to all the crime there, they can take this phone instead of my smartphone lol

Good for those not ready for smart phones
My senior friend needed a 5G compatible phone. This was similar enough to her old 2G/3G Nokia to seem less intimidating. It still has had a learning curve, but less than trying to learn how to use a smart phone. It's a workable and inexpensive solution to the newer phone for a senior problem. If someone knows how to use a smart phone already, this phone seems out-of-date and awkward to use.

Works on Cricket mobile
Setup was a breeze. The sim was instantly recognized and picked up the signal. Overall, it is a good, basic phone to call. Voice quality is decent over the handset but much clearer when using earphones. Texting is a bit painful with the old-style keyboard and non-intuitive suggestions. For extensive texting, this is not recommended. For calling and basic use as a phone, it is perfectly fine. The "internet" feature exists but is not particularly useful or helpful. It would be helpful to be able to turn this phone into a hotspot. Also, the phone only has a slot for 1 SIM and not 2 as advertised. Overall, the rating is based on the low usage of calling and texting that this user has and for that purpose, it is a great phone.

Several Expected Downsides, But One Unacceptable Failure
This little phone had decent reviews, and the brand seemed reliable. Small, for someone who doesn’t want to spend a lot or surf the net on their phone.
Without internet to get backed-up contacts, I could use Bluetooth to carry them over from another phone.
I miss flip phones and phones with a real keypad after having a smartphone touchscreen fail when trying to call 911. Still, you know going into it that texting a few times is considerably more painful. Again, an expected drawback for those who don’t text a lot.
But this thing takes a very long delay before ringing when called. Several other times, it did not ring at all – and nothing showed on the call log. Being unable to receive communication is emphatically not one of the small drawbacks of using an inexpensive phone. A phone exists to provide communication; lack of connection is unacceptable.
I ruled out the possibility of it being the carrier network fault. Other phones use the same Tello SIM card seller and same network carrier T-Mobile, but apparently without this problem.
If someone is not getting incoming calls, then all of the other benefits or trade-offs are useless.

Nice Phone Nice Features
Liked: Many features. Easy to use. Not a smartphone? Works with T-Mobile Prepaid service.
Disliked: Buttons a little small; wished were a little bigger. Battery life o.k.; maybe less than listed. No quick mute for ringer.
BIG Dislike: The speaker cracks/crackles/distorts at all volumes! Not sure if it's just this phone or a design flaw in all of then.
Maybe stuck with it as the choices in my price range are limited.

After 2 months line of pixels died, 1 year warranty not honoured
After just 2 months, a line of pixels completely blew out on my phone. When I contacted Nokia about it, because there is a 1-year manufacturer warranty, they said to contact the seller. This seller is impossible to contact so buyer beware

Good for voice communication.
Budget phone that provides adequate voice communication. Box contained no instructions in English and a charger with a European power plug. User will need to provide charger with micro-USB interface. Only volume control is in software via awkward interface.

Love it, theres a Facebook app but its only a web link, ~5 days of usage between recharges, with Bluetooth on and moderate usage. Camera is meh, it does have a little low power light on the top.

Such a damned disappointment.
I bought this phone because I won't be able to use my Nokia 3310 in the US for much longer. The last 3G networks are shutting down in April. I thought the 225 would be a worthy successor to the 3310, what with its S30+ OS and 4G capability.
One word. J2ME.
There is no J2ME functionality on the 225. As it turns out, the Nokia 3310 3G was the only feature phone from this 'new' Nokia to have J2ME functionality. Indeed, the 225 lacks ANY form of installable apps. No app store, no side-loading, and the MediaTek Runtime Environment is so dead that no trace of its SDK exists anymore. It cannot run the ancient version of Google Maps I found for J2ME. It cannot run the slightly-newer-but-still-old version of Opera Mini I found for J2ME. I didn't even bother trying to figure out its other merits.
With KaiOS being absolutely abhorrent to use, and Nokia eschewing their perfectly fine Smart Feature OS for this spartan S30+, I can no longer stay in the distraction-free zone of feature phones once they shut down 3G in 2022. Considering my current academic status, I will blame this phone if I end up in a failed standing. Not because of what it is, but because of what it isn't.

Best purchase of 2022 so far
I'd give it 6 stars if I could.
This is an amazing digital minimalism phone. Sure, it has it's quirks. But they don't detract from the phone's functionality. I've had it for three months and I'm beyond pleased.

Muy buen producto, muy buena calidad, está muy chulo la verdad, me trae recuerdos y nostalgia de cuando tuve mi primer teléfono celular a los 13 años (un Kyocera Laylo M1400).
Me gusta en el hecho en que no es inteligente, tiene el famoso juego de "snake" o la "Culebrita" más 10 juegos instalados.
Para los adultos es Perfecto para desintoxicarse de las redes sociales por un momento para personas mayores o como teléfono de emergencia.
Pero dónde veo más acoplo y más comodidad este dispositivo en mi opinión personal es para los niños.
Para muchos padres de familia, darles un celular a sus hij@s , puede ser algo tedioso ya que no muchos les gusta el hecho de que tengan acceso Al internet o a las redes sociales debido a los peligros que pueden conllevar.
Si eres uno de esos padres que quiere darle a sus hij@s un celular sencillo, para llamadas y mensajes de textos para estar conectado en caso de emergencia o para cuando vaya a la escuela. Este celular es perfecto.

Satisfied with what the phone offers
I was just looking for a basic 3G phone that I can use for my Globe (Philippines) sim card here in the US so i can receive OTP for my Philippine bank accounts.
I only use it for that alone and it does its job so I’m satisfied with the phone overall.
I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a basic phone.

Smartphone "detox". Great audio quality. Good battery life.
If you carry around your smartphone, there is always the temptation to use it too much. At least for me. So the nice smartphone is now locked up in a box. I was looking for a 4G LTE feature phone as 3G is not existent anymore in my area and 2G only has a vestigial allocation with T-Mobile based carriers which results in dropped calls and poor audio quality. This one is the direct replacement I use for the Nokia 3310. Universal screen protectors fit much better as the screen is not curved. The audio quality is excellent. I only wish they would make one for CDMA based carriers as well so that it could be used on Verizon which undoubtedly has better coverage out in the boonies. But the quality of the GSM carrier based Nokia 225 is great. No regrets. I am using it with a magnetic charging plug in the micro USB socket which permanently stays in there - so I don't have to use a micro USB cable - those flimsy connectors are not made to last but that's not NOKIA's fault of course. Nonetheless they should've kept the round DC plugs from back in the days when NOKIA was the leading company for cell phones.

Happy with mine a week in...
Bought this to replace my Nokia 3310 (which I loved). This is basically the same as the Nokia 220 that I had about five years ago until ATT shut down 2g. Got this one to replace them shutting down 3g. Would give this a solid 5 stars for what it is (a sub fifty dollar dumb phone), but I can already tell the buttons are going to give out sooner than later, especially if you text a lot. Works with AT&T here in Oregon. All I had to do was move the SIM from my old phone to the new one and I was in business.

Terrible dumb phone
I used to LOVE Nokia phones. Model 1209 was the BEST. This 4G 225 is terrible. I wanted to get AWAY from smart phones and thought this would be a good choice. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
Texting is VERY difficult. Predictive text with capital letters at the beginning of a sentence (En) after a previously typed sentence requires moving the cursor back and forth until it actually changes back to capital or toggling through Abc, abc,123 EN, en to get it to begin with a capital letter again. For some reason, pressing a button to show a number causes that number to repeat itself. The entire thing then has to be deleted and retyped. Also, once a word is typed in that it doesn’t recognize, it can be added (presumably to its vocabulary). However, the word is NOT saved and must be retyped in EACH time that specific word is used in a text. Text messages received show the incorrect time (off by about 4 hours for me). The speaker phone distorts conversations. The display ALWAYS indicates a pending voice mail message even when there is none. When accessing contacts, I begin by typing their name. Once the first letter is typed in, it brings up EVERY entry that includes that letter, not just names that start with that letter. I have found that it is easier/quicker to simply dial the number instead of spending so much time trying to find it in the contacts folder. Icons cannot be deleted. Facebook and Games app icons CANNOT be deleted. The arrangement can be changed, but not deleted. I have had this phone for about 4 months. I am done and ordered a smart phone today.

Not worth it.
I'm revising this review to knock it down to from two to one star. As someone who has only ever used dumb phones, I have to say that this thing is garbage. Worst I've ever had, and it's not even close. Multiple times a day this thing will freeze in the middle of sending a text. I have to take the battery out to restart it and the text is lost. I am looking to replace it ASAP.

Biggest problem is that, no matter what I try with the time settings, received texts are displaying the wrong time. If I am trying to navigate a text conversation, I have to scroll all the way up past everything I've said because the messages from who I'm talking to get sorted to three hours ago. What little I can find on the matter seems to indicate this is just a problem the phone has and there's nothing to be done.
Other than that, it feels weak in the hand, I don't expect it to survive many hits. I don't see a way to change the displayed date format, it always puts the month first. It's mostly fine otherwise, but I'm sure I will have to move on from this phone much sooner than I would like. Already looking for a replacement.

Simple Phone
This is a very simple phone. It does not have a touch screen. It works well for making calls, or taking an occasional picture. It's OK for reading an incoming text, but sending one is quite difficult since you have to go through the keypad letter sequence to type in each letter. That said, my wife likes it.

This device is a phenomenal way to cut back on the notification overhaul that comes with owning a smartphone. So to still see that cell phone companies still produce these and at an affordable price is nice. The phone seems to be functioning fine. My only qualm is that when I first turned on the phone, the screen already had a row of dead pixels. Within a day of continuing to barely use the phone at all, several other rows of dead pixels started to show through. Some seem to be permanent. Some rows flicker. I'm concerned that by the end of the week, I won't even have a display anymore.
Apart from that, I popped my TMobile SIM and battery in, and the phone started working just fine. It is lightweight and for the most part, decent build quality.
*Changed my rating from 3 stars to 2. The aforementioned issue with lines seems to progressively get worse. Much of the bottom half of the screen seems to have pixels that shine all white regardless of what I'm doing. I guess I just got a bad draw.

Basic phone for emergencies
I bought this phone for my elementary school-aged kid for emergencies. I am using it with a Tello sim card and I am paying the plan that has 100 mins and unlimited texted for less than $10.
