I purchased this for my little cousin recently (he is 9) as he is not allowed by my aunt to be on a 360 or PS3 console. I have been around the block with gaming since I was his age, so I figured the Wii was a good jumping off point. I still have fond memories of my days playing Super NES and N64, but I, like most everyone else in my age group, gave up on Nintendo long ago.What I found relatively shocking after I sat down with him and fired the system up is that Nintendo has not changed much in game play, graphical content, or interface in the last decade. From a person like myself that plays mostly on a 360 or PS3 console, the Wii looks horribly dated. I would compare the experience to having to go back to a dial up modem after spending years with broadband. Yeah, its that bad. The interface and games are lacking in both function and realismThe issue of the "control" is really a matter of personal taste, but the motion games I played with the remote were haphazard and imprecise at best. Sometimes I was beginning to wonder if the system was even responding to my motions at all. It essentially came down to a "button mashing" technique that you would use on a normal control (minus the control of course). Granted that I am not big into motion games in general, but if these types of games are your thing, the Kinect sensor for the 360 or the Move for the PS3 is 100 times more precise in its physics and technology.Another potential problem I could see for a newb purchasing this console is game selection. If you take a look around amazon, you will quickly notice that many of the heavy hitter game developers don't not even bother to put out a title for the Wii console in numerous franchises, and I suspect that much of that has to do with its severely lacking tech capabilities.In the end, I can really only recommend this console to children or to those who have fairly low standards for interactive media. The controls, game selection, graphics, and tech capabilities on this console are all way below par and reminiscent of the "bad old days" of gaming.Unless you happen to fall into the above demographic, do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money on a console that can actually deliver the goods.

As a big sports fan, I figured I'd give this console a shot over the more expensive XBOX 360 and PS3. However, I found I enjoyed several Mario games, than many of the sports titles. The Tiger Woods golf games are probably the best sports games on the Wii Console, but for whatever reason, it gets old playing it over time. It is also disappointing that the best tennis game on the Wii is on Wii Sports. The Mario games that I've played are terrific though. From Super Mario Galaxy to Super Mario Bros., Mario games will keep you entertained for hours. If you need a break from that, the Wii Sports or Wii Sports Resort is a lot of fun, especially when playing with at least one other person. Overall, I would say I have a great deal of fun with the Wii, just some games, like on any system will be a little repetitive over time.

Its true this console lacks gamecube inputs. But in all honesty a gamecube runes like 20 or thirty dollars. Plus the models that have backwards compatability come in white red and black. basicly this is the omly color that isnt

Here I am, with all my family for the first time in 10 years so I buy this "BUNDLE" deal for all to enjoy. One of the discs/games worked so it was great fun Chrstmas Day but the other one looked as if it had already been opened & repackaged from SELLER FOCUS CAMERA LLC/Amazon seller and so it did not work. I was devastated. Now I find out as I head from Ohio (whee family is) back to Florida (Tampa area) that to get this ONE disc/game replaced, I have to package up the entire game, take it from my family & all the KIDS and return it so I can get another hopefully NEW unopened "Bundle" so I can pray that all games work when I have to resend it back to my nieces, nephews, Dad, cousins and the rest of the family. So now they are all upset that the game they not stopped played only becuse the day after Christmas I trudged through horrible lines of mean people I went & got some games for the kids to play, for which they have played NONSTOP. Not real happy on this "RETURN POLICY!!!" Won't do this again with them or a package deal. Only through Amazon. They are the best in handling return. I will also let them know my dissatifaction!!

I am a Senior Citizen and live in the Northeast where getting out to walk is not always easy, and at my age, that is about the extent of my exercise. I had purchased "plug and play Wii type" games in the past and would dust them off once in a while. I kept seeing ads for the Wii showing Seniors using it, and I read good things about it so I decided to buy it. I only wish I had done this sooner! I bought the Wii Hardware Bundle with the motion sensor remote and love it! Setting it up was as easy as setting up a dvd player. I started off playing the "Sports" disc and love the fact you can play, or you can practice different aspects of each game, teaching you how to get better. The Wii Fitness feature is great! When you choose to do this, you are given 3 different aspects of different sports and are given an "age" based on your speed, stamina, and balance. I love doing this everyday and seeing my "age" go down as I improve my game playing.When I frist did the Fitness, my Wii age was 67 and I am proud to say that I now average between 24 and 30! This bundle also comes with the Resort and that disc is a lot of fun! You can try your skill at Wakeboarding, or archery, or several other games that are not just fun, but again, for someone my age, help you with your coordination. I have also used the Wii ability to connect with the internet, so I can check my email, read the news,or check the weather if I want to take a break from playing. I use Netflix for renting movies and now I can have them streamed right to my TV using the Wii console and my "unlimited" Netflix membership...no more waiting for the movies to come in the mail. You can purchase games to suit everybody's type of genre. Yes, the "new" games are pricy, but you can find older games,for good prices.I would truly recommend the Wii for everyone, and especially for Seniors who can't afford to go to a gym for exercise and like to have fun! Yes, this entire system is designed to satisfy gamers of all ages, but I can only rate it as a Senior.

We all love the Lego games. No matter what gaming system they are played on, the Lego games are the biggest hit with our entire family since the debut of Mario. From the youngest to the oldest members, Lego Batman is super fun and it is in constant play.
Challenging, but not overpowing difficulty makes this game another in a series of well thought-out play.

After buying several Wii knockoff controllers and accessories, I'm here to tell you that you'll regret not buying Wii brand instead. This nunchuk has stood up to the abuse that two little boys could give it. Other brands are a waste of money. This seller has the goods in spades. Affordable and reliable.

Had a dreamcast on my video cable, needed a component for the wii. Looks really good, even though the wii is only 480i, this component looks great, crystal clear picture on my 46 inch panasonic 1080p 600hz tv.

I have an 8 yr old and a 5 yr old that both LOVE this game. We've had this for a few months now, and I don't think any other game has been played since we got it! It's easy enough for the younger one to play without getting frustrated, while being challenging enough to keep the interest of the older one. I especially like that they can switch characters and also play together to help earn points.

I love my Wii. Always have, always will. I know there are "better", more advanced consoles out there, but I prefer the Wii. I've always been a Nintendo fan in general. The Wii has games I like. Period. Other companies just don't offer the types of games I like. No, the Wii does not have the best graphics in the world. That's fine by me. I don't play games for the graphics. I love to exercise with my Wii, as well. I think the selection of exercise games for the Wii is a lot better than other consoles.
Netflix is also a perk to having a Wii. I love being able to stream movies and TV shows straight to my TV. It's so convenient, I don't know how I put off getting Netflix for so long. Overall, I would recommend the Wii to anyone who likes good ol' Nintendo and isn't into first-person shooters.

Wii has a some good games, and the motion controls add a new game play experience.Although I think the Wii is kinda of expensive for what you get. The system is like 5 years behind the others in hardware and graphics, and still sells for around $200. Kinda of pricy considering you can get a PlayStation 3 for around $250.If you plan on getting a Wii; try to buy a used one for around $100, or just wait for the New Wii 2 coming out in late 2012.
