Picture quality is amazing capturing every detail. I really like the large LCD for quickly reviewing pictures. Dials for changing settings are easy to use. Only complaint is that there is no auto focus in movie mode. Other than that I'm 100% satisfied!

As my second new Nikon, the D90 attests to Nikon's continued perfection in photography. Purchasing the D90 through Amazon.com was an excellent choice; I am very satisfied with Amazon's service. Thank You Amazon.com for being there.

I still have my D70 which I still love. The D90 has everything I like about the D70 plus more. The larger LCD is a big improvement. The increase in pixils is helpful when trying to extract a "picture within a picture". Had some issues with that with the 6 mp D70. Most of the buttons are familiar so that helps previous Nikon owners. My favorite new feature is the incredible upgrade in low-light situations.Overall, I'm extremely happy with the D90.

I have just purchased this NIkon D90 with 18-105 mm lens. I had an SLR many years ago and loved it. I decided to buy this one after much research and being unhappy with the digital point and shoot camera I now own. I have not had an opportunity to go out and really put it to the test, but the photos I have taken from my kitchen window are phenomenal, so I know it will not disappoint. A little heavy,but worth it for the quality of the pics! Have not yet tried the video.

Absolutely phenomenal DSLR. The sensor is more sensitive than a D300 and the camera body is much lighter. If you don't need a lot of whistles and bells, why get a D90 instead of a D300? Beats me!

The D90 was my first jump into the world of dSLR's. I have always loved taking pictures and would use a mid-range point and shoot digital camera to do so. I would then use Photoshop to enhance the pictures to make them more creative or to correct shadows, color, etc. With the D90, not only has my love of taking photos jumped to a new high, I find I have to do less "Photoshop-ing". This camera takes wonderful pictures if know how to use it. For me, it took only a few short weeks to be comfortable with aperture settings, shooting speeds, and focusing modes on the D90. Take the time to learn the camera and you will have a great experience with the D90.

After starting out with a used Nikon D70 and then upgrading to the D80 which was also used, I was torn between A used D300 and a New D90. After much research, price comparisons, and reading some of the great reviews here at Amazon, the answer was clear. Many of the controls are similar to the D80 so there were only a few areas to learn about. As a fashion/glam photographer my main subjects are models in outdoor settings. Within a week of receiving the D90 I gave it a workout in 30+ degree weather. IT performed flawlessly!! NO fogging despite it not being weather proof like the D300. The images are brilliant, vibrant, and sharp. The exposure meter seems to be dead on. A highly recommend piece of equipment!!

I purchased this camera from Amazon. But then it started giving CHA error and the camera would freeze up and each time I had to remove the battery to unfreeze. I am returning to AMAZON as NIKON was not willing to take it back. I will not purchase another NIKON product. I am buying T2I CANON instead.If you want a good product and good service, stay away from NIKON.

I am a Nikon aficianado...enthusiast photographer...used since NewYear w/ 18-200mm VR II...unbeatable combination...wonderful low-light ability...very little if any noise at highest ISO settings...auto-focus is right-on...most all settings "tweakable" to your liking...really nice level of in camera photo-editing...best camera I have ever owned...will be purchasing another w/ 70-300mm VR...Amazon was the best deal...had very good combo price w/ 18-200mm at Christmas time...by the way, did I mention?, that I love this Camera & Lens...!!!

The Nikon D90 is a great camera. I stepped up from the D50 and am so glad I did!!! I'd recommend it to anybody who's seriously into digital photography as a hobby or even professionally.

The D90 is packed with features, control over settings is quick and convenient, and photos are professional quality. The kit lens is very good and versatile. All this (plus video) make this an excellent choice.

I wrote Nikon and talked with two reps before they unveiled the D90 about those concerns but they seem not to have a plan to upgrade any time soon. Yet other cameras like the Canon 5D and Lumix GH1 have mic jacks. It's clear that video needs sound, which is the most important thing; if your sound stinks, it can make video unwatchable. So I now want to sell the D90 and try the Lumix GH1.

My previous digital camera was a Canon Powershot (an excellent little camera) which I've had for several years. Prior to my vacation to Colorado this year, I wanted to invest in a serious digital SLR. After studying reports, handling different cameras at the local retailers, and talking to acquaintances about their cameras, I decided on the Nikon D90 with the 18-105 VR kit lens. I also purchased the 70-300 VR zoom lens in anticipation of the wildlife that is prevalent where I was going. It took me a couple of days to become familiar with the features and capabilities of the camera, which are very impressive. The controls and menus are intuitive and the 3" Hi-res viewing monitor is a joy to work with. The results on the trip more than met my expectations. The vibration reduction feature of both lenses worked well and my hand-held shots were crisp. The one aspect of the purchase that is less than stellar is the Nikon software program supplied to organize and view the photos.

I had a huge problem by ordering my Nikon D90 to another website "X" , that supposedly are great with costumer service. I always buy my stuff thru Amazon but I really don't know why I didn't consider Amazon as my first choice as a source of purchase for this product. I had several problems website "X". I was so angry already because the day the product suppose to arrive its the day that I had discovered that my order was cancel. Then I rapidly accessed Amazon.com and I found the camera cheaper and it got to me the exact next day without any worries. The product was intact and as good as I was about to buy it on a nearby store (in the same box and everything". So for you that are looking to have this camera faster and cheaper (and without any worries of security and all) use Amazon.com. As the product per-se Nikon D90 is one of the best inversions on an electronically device that I ever have done... If you are an amateur or professional photographer in your intermediate level, that is looking for that next step, Nikon D90 its the camera for you... So dont think twice on order it.

I have traded in my D40 for a D90. I loved the D40 and the D90 is even more awesome and easy to use. I bought the body only as my D40 lenses (of which I have many) also fit the D90. This is a real strong sell point for the Nikon Cameras overall. The viewing screen is larger, you can edit and crop pictures while still in the camera, and fix red eye. My photos I have been told look professional. I used my D40 for a trip to Glacier National Park and to Canada to the Ice Fields although my pictures where outstanding I think my D90 would have done even a better job. For the money the D90 is a winner hands down. Just love it. I let my neighbor (who has a D40) borrow the D90 and she was very impressed and is thinking of purchasing the D90.

A lot's been said on the technical side and the rest of the story. I'll keep mine short...- Am I happy with the product? - VERY!- Any Complaints? - Average Kit lens. Plastic mount. - DUST on the sensor!!! Brand New out of the box!! [removed with careful use of the blower and activation of "Sensor cleaning at Start up and Shut Down" - NO more dust problem. I do swap lenses once in a while. - Lack of auto focus during Video is a bit of a bummer but then this is a still camera - HD video is more like a freebee......Conclusion:Great Buy!Am very happy with the HD video feature.....even though in a rather primitive implementation stage .....the range of lenses offers some very interesting and unique Video possibilities!!

After using my Nikon D70 for the past 5 years to take thousands of great photos I am amazed at the improvement in the quality of the images I am producing with the D90.Using the same lens I am getting much more detail and less noise in low light situations. I wish I would have made this upgrade a year ago. Highly recommended

I've been a Canon owner for years and this is my first Nikon. The D90's look and feel is super. The kit lens is a very versatile lens producing good photos. I purchased the Nikkor 70-300mm with the camera to give me a wide margin of focal lengths for closeup and nature shots. I like them all. I think I'll even use the HD video feature which I've never done before. Very high quality.

Since I have gotten this camera I have shot 3000 pics. Thats how you get the priceless shots is by shooting, shooting shooting. I paired mine with a 8 gig card. Think that is about right. gets about 1400 jpg files. Much less if you shoot RAW.Just an amateur shooter but have gotten some very nice pics. Video mode is not quite as useful as I had hopped, but I know that it was not a replacement for a video camera. After learning the basics, I am learning 1 feature at a time. I love being able to take 4.5 pics per sec. Wonderful for capturing non-flash action. Flash slows it down considerably. Battery life, no complaints. has been great. Nikon Software is not bad either.Would have gotten 5 stars except for the cons below.Cons: Have gotten a few errors, had to drop the battery and reset the lens. Apparently the lens contacts are sometimes flaky. Re-seating the lens does the trick. And has not done it for quite awhile. Think exercising the lens on the body occasionally is good for it. Video limitations as seen on other reviews.

Advertised as new and it is in very good shape but with 31,000 pictures already taken it does not qualify as new.

I will not put down cannon's, but I have owned 6 Nikons and they "feel" better, the buttons are where you need them. For a very complex camera its functions are fairly intuitive. It allows me to take pictures that are better than I could ever have take before. Whenever I pick up my camera there is the knowledge that I can take a photo and expand it to the size of a poster and it will still look professional. It is difficult to believe the details this camera brings out. Before you buy go to a camera shop and feel all the cameras you can. Most of the features in this camera came from the Nikon D300.***Now I have owned this camera for >4 years. Have never felt the need to upgrade. I am a serious amateur but have shot several weddings for friends. Love this old work horse camera. Only problem is it's size. Now looking for top of line point and shoot to carry all of the time. Not pleased with either the Nikons or Cannons. I am probably expecting too much. If you get a D90, AND learn it. Don't form opinions within first month or so use it for 500+shots, use all its features and I believe you will love it as much as I do.

I have used Nikon SLR's for 30 years with my last one being a F5. In recent years I've used a number of "point and shoot" digitals including the Nikon swivel bodied CoolPIX 950 and 4500. The way technology changes so quickly I couldn't see spending the money on a D3. When the D90 dropped to 799.00 I jumped on it. I'm taking pro quality photos again. The D90 is AWESOME! I just bought the body and am using the 35-70 2.8 and 80-200 2.8 lenses I use on my F5. The weight of the lens gives the D90 a feel similar to my F5. The more I use it the more I love it. What a great value!

This was a dream come true gift for my serious graphic arts son who has raved about the quality & versatility of this camera.We took it on vacation and I took a few photos myself and found it to be easy enough for me (who is use to a point & shoot type of camera) but the quality of the photos are incredible and you get so much more with this camera.My son has not stopped talking about this camera since he got it.I have to say that Amazon beat out all the other sites when it came to price...delivery and dependability. They made it very easy to make the final choice.

I've used Nikon products for nearly 40 years...stepping up to digital SLR about 5 years ago. One of the reasons I stayed with Nikon is the capability to use most of my 35 mm film/Nikon lenses with the digital body. The transition has been flawless.
