Great camera with all the right features. Easy to learn and use. Nikon gets two thumbs up on this camera.

Just came back from a 2 week photo journey using this camera all day - it meets or exceeds my expectations in every way. But, most importantly of all (and admittedly subjectively), the sharpness and clarity of the photos seem to exceed any of my previous dSLRs (D2X, D300, D7000) - maybe it's the removal of the anti-aliasing filter, maybe it's the 24 MP, (although I'd like to say it's my technique (not)), but the image quality just is mind blowing. The focusing is faster than the others-I guess due to Expeed 3. The menu system is similar to the D7000: so customizable, it will suit virtually anyone's needs. My only minor complaint is that, with the larger files sizes, the camera's buffer fills after 3 quick shots (in RAW) and one must wait (momentarily) for the camera to write to the card. (I've ordered and await the fastest possible cards and I advise this for all-they're pricey). The 1080 p 30 fps video is stunning. I highly recommend this camera - it's the best one I've ever used by far.

this camera really surprised me, I wanted to find a camera that could be versatile and able to capture what I want, this camera is great I have just a few small eh days with her and tested with high ISO and surprised me ah, the quality is very good. memory is recommended to purchase not less than 90mb transfer, and in this way does not look to miss the smallest detail

Love it! All my lenses from my d80 work on this. So I dont have to purchase new ones.There's alot to use on this camera!!

Just starting my business, this is my fourth camera I have bought absolutely love the features and the quality of pictures!

i got this camera about a month ago from amazon. photography has become a main hobby of mine that started about 10 years ago. i've been through at least 8 cameras in these years, with the last 4 being dslr's. i absolutely love this camera. it has excellent low light capabilities and very fast. i have 5 nikkor lenses,(2 prime), and a tokina lens. this camera takes absolutely gorgeous pictures. the BEST cropped sensor dslr money can buy! $1200 for just the body may seem too much, but it's worth every penny. get yourself some good glass(lens), and get pictures at pretty much the way your eye sees it in real life. you'll feel like a pro just holding it. the video on this camera is bar none, the best on any dslr i came across. HD at it's finest. arm yourself with two 32G extreme sd cards and let the fun begin. Aloha.

I grew up with Zenith 12xp (still have it :), few years back I shot Nikon N70 panorama, recently I decided to go back to the hobby and purchased D7000 + 35mm/f1.8. I loved the feel and functionality of the D7000 and as soon as I have learned about D7100, I pre-ordered it on Amazon + 50mm/f1.8 + 85mm/f1.8. I am not a professional or even a good amateur but I have noticed immediately problems with autofocus. In low light conditions, straight out of the box in full auto mode, camera would "hunt" constatly to focus with my new 1.8G prime lenses. In good light conditions camera would "freeze" after 1st shot and hesistate before 2nd shutter accentuation (focus on the same stationary object). In addition, autofocus was very loud. I have never experienced this problems with D7000/ never had to fine tuned it. Overall, D7100 feels great in the hands and quality of the pictures is astonishing. Portrait pictures of my German shepherd taken with D7100 + 85mm/f1.8 are superb. I am hoping, I have received bad copy and awaiting for the replacement from Amazon.

As far as value/performance is concerned this is the best camera you can buy. Don't let full frame snobs convince you otherwise.

LOTS OF PIXELS!!!1 It's a great camera. I would recommend buying it and a large and fast SD card. The resulting raws are between 10 and 40ish MB each.

After several months of saving I upgraded from the Nikon D3100 to the D7100. I am a photography student and knew I needed to upgrade sooner or later. I wanted the abilities of a full frame, but couldn't quite afford it (D600, $2,000). I read Ken Rockwell's review, comparing the D600 and the D7100. The D600 obviously had advantages, but surprisingly the D7100 won. It had more focusing points and a better auto focusing system for only half the price. I got the D7100 as well as the 85 mm f/1.8 and I absolutely love this camera. It's sturdy, has weather proof sealing, two SD card slots, bracketing, and an improved auto focusing system from the D7000. This camera is said to be, by several online reviews, better than the praised Cannon 60D. This is an amazing buy and for $1200 it's a bargain!!See samples at emilyturnerphoto.com

I've used a D80 for the past few years, so this D7100 was easy to catch onto. What I particularly appreciate is the D7100's dramatically better low light performance. I use it primarily to capture indoor sporting action and the D7100 enables me to get much clearer shots.

The previews and reviews I read before making this purchase suggested it had new features rather than "tweaking". The standard lens 18-105 mm is a basic but acceptable lens but perhaps doesn't make the most of the D7100's capabilities. It has a solid feel to it, and because of its construction is heavier than my previous Nikons.There are so many new features that only time will tell, and with experimentation I'm sure will provide some excellent results.Certainly seems to be at the upper end of Nikon's "value for $$$" and fits into the enthusiastic amateur range very well. My previous NIkon experience lead me to buy this one, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

Just received my Nikon D7100, haven't played with it much but what I've seen, I like. This is my third Nikon DSLR and I've been happy with them so far. There's so much about this camera that I won't go into that here, you can find reviews everywhere on the internet. The one thing I will mention that seems to not get talked about is the in camera leveler, both in the viewfinder and on the live view screen, great feature.

it comes with a high rating, it's very versatile and has a lots of useful features. I have not yet mastered all of it operations as yet. but it is a great camera for the price

I have the D5100, and used for over a year, it has taken great pictures. During that time frame it had the same problem twice and both times I had to ship out for repair. It was hard to function with a camera, so I purchase a second camera the D7100. I purchase the body only because I already had several lens and they all worked great with the D7100. I find myself using it for 90 precent of the pictures I have take today. I still have a lot to learn about this camera, I fill I am still a beginner in photography, but with the D7100 I fill I can achive the next level sooner that later. The D7100 is very quit, on my first use of the camera I thought it was broken, but when I looked to see if any pictures had been taken and everyone taken was there. Although the camera is a little heavy, I like the fill of it.

Just an excelent camera. We love it. No complaints whatsoever. It is user friendly and one can learn quickly to use it, but do not get frustrated if sometimes you loose the shot because the camera would not fire! It does happen sometimes with some settings being wrongly selected.

Clean shots. Good Package. Nice combo set. No issues at all. Rechargeable batteries last a long time. Should of gotten sooner.

What can I say, it's fabulous. I am a beginner and this is my first DSLR. I have a lot to learn, but I am already enjoying this camera. And by looking at my brothers photos (he has this as well), I know what it is capable of. Great camera!!!

Great camera,. lenses work perfectly for portraits to wildlife shots, and the carrying case is nice and sturdy, and not too bulky

Great camera. 1st purchased copy of D7001 had 5 oil spot (not dust) visible at f/16, f/22. Unable to clear with rocket blower and built in cleaner option. Returned. Amazon kind enough to send me a replacement. Replacement now has left focus issue like D800. Not as tack sharp at 100% enlargement as center, upper, lower, right focus points. Others have reported similar issue. Good news is that good copies exist without these problems.I used my 24-70 mm Nikon, f/2.8 lens using high contract focus chart on tripod wide open to test focusing. Amazon is great, but poor quality control from Nikon. I was hoping this camera would be different from known oil on sensor problem of D600. Furthermore, JPEG images more grainy than D7000. But focus system improved. Not a real issue since RAW images can be improved with PP with Lightroom 4.4. Hoping next replacement copy will have no oil spots, L focus problems. Crossing my fingers.

Camera gives great images but I have some personal issues with the camera. One, the body would be more comfortable if it were a little taller so that my ;pinkie wouldn't be hanging below the camera body. Focusing drives me nuts in that if you have an object in the view finder to the side but closer to the camera it will focus to the side and miss the central part of the image. This may be an operator issue but I will do more reading to make sure as it is very frustrating. The other issue is chip related so it can't be fixed with the current technology on DX chips and that is that the noise levels above 3200 ISO is quite bad.Still a great camera.

The camera exceeded my expectations with unbelievable sharpness and color fidelity. The camera is light-weight and the controls and menus are arraigned logically for ease of operation.
