I bought this camera about 6 months ago and it is great! It is not difficult to use and it takes very professional photos.

Still learning the camera but photos are fantastic and video in auto shooting mode. With a DSLR beyond a basic camera that fuflills your shooting profile, it is ALL about the lenses. I got a package with this that had a DVD training set which I highly recommend.

I had to get a new camera because my D60 auto feature mysteriously stopped working. This replacement is a nice upgrade. The additions of having a screen and the video feature have both come in handy. It is lighter than the D60 and the lens can be used on the 5100 body so I only needed to replace the body.

Small, light weight and a great introductory camera into the DSLR world.The flip out screen is sick. No motor in camera though, makes older lenses that have a CPU input impossible to autofocus with. Tan

My husband bought us this Camera for a present for me, maybe it was our Anniversary. ANyway, it takes great pictures, I just want to get a new lenses to get even closer shots. Took some action ones of our son, and it works great. Highly recommend. Thank you Amazon.

Nikon D5100 is really a nice SLR for the beginners within an affordable price range. Its size and weight are also impressive.

The speed was surprisingly fast, the color vibrance makes the pictures pop, and the settings explanations inside the camera makes them easier to understand.

I am really getting to know this camera, and so far I love it. As a yearbook advisor, I love that it gives good, hi-res images even just on the auto settings.

After my long wait, I finally receive my camera and I have enjoyed it alot...Excellent product to amateur photographers like me!

This is my second time to choose Nikon D5100 because previous expirience was wonderfull, one persons wanted to buy it and I sold it then I was aw for oportunity. Now i will take my pictures on this chrismass seasons...cheersss!!!

I've owned many Nikon SLRs and one DSLR and had no major problems. Like others I was taking photos and suddenly everything was black. I've read online this is happening to many owners, so it's not as if I got a rare lemon. Camera is 2 months past warranty and I basically have to pay the postage and to see if it can be fixed and then pay for have it fixed. Camera isn't even a year old! I've never dropped or neglected this camera in any way. Happened around photo #271 in a photo shoot with no warning. I'm very upset this has happened.

got this digital SLR on special and it was well worth the money. I did a lot of research and this camera is one of the top in its price range. If you want to shoot video, this camera shoots in 30fps..

The first week I had the camera I had the issue of "black screen" then after fixing this issue a few weeks after the shutter gets stuck and when I google this problem I come to find that this is an ONGOING ISSUE. This item should be recalled and money refunded. Not a dependable camera.

I got this for the boyfriend for Christmas. He absolutely loves it. The picture quality is amazing, and it has so many features that he is just beginning to grasp.

We upgraded from point and click to this SLR. We love it. The clarity is incredible. No more blurry flashes that are supposed to be kids and/or pups.

Delivery was on time and safely done. Love the camera with its swivel out display and high quality lens. Took me a little time to put on the strap correctly (read those directions carefully...) Overall, good purchase.

I bought this camera to replace my D80 so I could shoot video as well as stills. I use to carry a ultra compact camera or my DV camcorder to shoot video and would have to switch cameras. The camera is great for stills. The big problem with DSLRs is the auto focus during video. The D5100 focuses quickly, but unfortunately hunts for its subject in a pattern of 4 adjustments. It focuses slight in front of subject, then behind, then in front, and finally on the subject. This creates a distracting "in and out" of focus pattern that I felt was unacceptable. The auto focus function is also noisy and easily picked up on the build in mic. An external mic would be needed for decent sound capture if using auto focus. The D5100 can focus in single shot mode. Meaning you can depress the shutter button to refocus when needed. Ultimately, what I discovered is that D5100 is not appropriate for semi-serious video using auto focus. It is usable for casual video capture if you pre-focus and use manual focus to shoot videos.

This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. She is very happy with it, although she is still learning how to get the best pictures.

If you have never touch slr camera before I think this is good enough for you. you can use it to practis your skills. And it can make a very bueatiful pics~

THE PICTURES HAVE VERY TRUE COLOR! Not many cameras have the TRUE color but this one does! I recommend this camera, easy to use and excellent pictures. Very nice pictures with low light.
