The quality of images is excellent, it is easy to handle it, the battery lasts for days, the different options for color is fantastic and it has a very good size, easy to carry on.

Resolution (max 16M) is good.
I wanted HD video and pictures, and this works very well for the purpose.
It is very easy to use and the touch screen is wide and big enough
to handle touches.
Finally, connecting to PC is direct and easy.
As a secondary portable camera, I want to recommend this !!

I chose 4 stars because there is always room for improvement in anything a person purchases. Therefore 4 stars to me means way above average. I like this camera I bought for my wife for the ease of use and pretty much mistake proof use. It is very easy to meander through the menu(the icons could really be replaced by words though) by scrolling through the icons until you find what you need. A great camera so far. The touch screen is a plus. Time remains to be told as far as the lifetime and usefullness of the screen before it becomes unviewable though. Send me another request in a year or so on that last concern and we'll cover that.

I have been wanting a touch screen camera for a long time and when I found one on Amazon at this price, I couldn't resist! It was unfortunate that I couldn't get the color I wanted, but I have had no problem with the camera. Just make sure you buy a memory card when you order it.

I wanted to buy a small shove in your pocket camera , not spend a lot of money. well S4300 was one on my list Costco had one left for $100 so bought it. So after being totally confused reading articles on what to look for and nothing seemed perfect in any reviews I just bought one. The S4300 works really well takes great pictures , feels solid and looks good and fits my needs. I did buy an additional charger ( make sure it's for the S4300 not the 4300) battery and 16GB san-disk. So it's good camera to consider for the price you can't go wrong.

I had a previous camera fail and repairs would have been as much as purchasing a new one. I found this refurbished camera for a very reasonable price and it was an upgrade to my prior camera. It is very simple to use and quality of the photos is great.

This camera is similar to my old Coolpix but has a touch screen which is a nice enhancement. I haven't used all the features yet but so far I'm happy I didn't get a different brand.

The camera is excellent, takes very nice pictures and scene modes as well exploit the effects too.
Tactail screen can sometimes complicate matters, but it is about adapting. The only negative that I find, is that the battery charge is at the bottom, which makes have to stop lying on the front or the screen, it certainly makes scratches easily.
Then to see the pictures on TV, is half troublesome, because it does a good fit to the screen and passing them to go with the touch interface goes sometimes.
For the price it is a great camera to get and renew the old.
The video is acceptable. undoubtedly recommend it.

I have a Nikon p500 ( a big model with all the bells and whistles for us old time photogs) For a point and shoot camera with a litle zoom it works great. good pix quality and easy to move to video.

I love this camera. I found that you can take pictures black and white with a one color pop.. did not know this when i bought it. very satissfied with this except i just lost my charger :/

UPDATE to Review:
s4300 piece of junk as well. The thumb hold keeps falling off - NIKON doesn't seem to have their parts group prepared to handle the junk. Should have learned not to get a second one. BUYER BEWARE!!

S4100 with LCD Screen LEAK. No broken glass. Apparently pushing on the screen as it is a touchscreen ruined it. due to Have to be super careful with the LCD back. REPAIR options were slow and turned out to be about the same amount as what I paid for the camera. So it's trash. Its not the easiest camera to use and has some funky software useability layouts. I have learned to work around. BUT I will buy a different model next time.

I bought this camera because I was told it would be great for concert footage, one of my must haves in a camera. Even after technical support and trying all of their recommended settings, I was not able to get a single decent picture with over three hundred concert shots! My old camera did ok, but was damaged in a fire, last time I try to make a "change for the better". What a waste of my money!

Camera was about what I expected, I do wish I had known it came with a camera case and memory card, I had bought them separately. Contrarily, the included accessories made it a great deal.

The bottom line is that the pictures are beyond poor quality. I did not purchase mine on Amazon as I did not want to risk the product being damaged in shipment, but I bought one for myself as a Christmas gift last year. I was impressed with the first few pictures, especially the quality of the flash (I have always been a fan of Nikon's flashes, which was I chose this product in the first place). However, that is just about the only good thing I have to say about this product. I have tried not to hate it, using the excuse that I was just used to my DSLR and I had to remember that this was a smaller camera. Anyway, here's the truth:

1.) Outdoors -- This camera takes great outdoor shots...in the day light...as long as the subject is standing perfectly still.

2.) Indoors -- This camera does not take clear indoor shots at all! It doesn't matter what the lighting is, or whether or not the subject is standing still. And the bigger problem is, it only gets worse over time. I have had mine for a year now and have used it only 4 times and each time the pictures come out more and more blurred.

3.) The touch screen -- This is more of a stylus screen. The touch screen will NOT work with the touch of a finger, you must use the stylus that comes with it, so if you purchase this despite the reviews, make sure you do not accidentally throw the stylus out!

The camera is small and compact and lightweight and thin, which makes it easy to carry, which was what I was looking for, but the picture quality is horrific! I am very disappointed! Nikon still has a few bugs to work out before they get this "point and shoot" thing down.

Yes I would recommend camera, BUT buy the insurance coverage in case it's dropped. So, here is the six more words.

I purchased this camera from the Staples store before going to a concert. I usually buy CANON cameras because they are much more user-friendly. But the store didn't have the one I wanted to I bought the NIKON. It took me about 2 hours of taking pictures to figure out which modes would work best for taking pictures of the artist on the stage. The pictures came out WONDERFUL, and I was able to zoom in completely, focus the camera, and THEN shoot the video so that it could come out clear from far away. It was crazy how much I had to play with it in order to figure it out. I would have preferred something much EASIER. I really loved the pictures I got out of this, and the video was not too bad either. The sound quality was good but not great. The touch screen was a bit lagging. The settings were hiding all over the options choices. They are confusing names on the options. This camera is annoying, and the battery ran out in 3 hours... though I'm not sure if this is normal for these types of cameras. It was also aggravating that the battery must be charged while its inside the camera. RIDICULOUS. I should be able to charge it externally. I am a pretty savvy user of cameras and have had many of them over the years. So I was really discouraged when I had to use this one for hours before I could find the settings I needed. I am returning this to the store ASAP and trying out the CANON camera I wanted in the first place.

I have several large cameras with long, clunky lenses. I was looking for a camera small enough for a pocket or small bag. The CoolPix is perfect for that. The photographs are crisp and clean. I would recommend this for any age.

I bought this camera because it had good reviews, it stated it took professional type pictures at the zoo. But I had one big problem with it. Even though the quality is great, the shutter lag (time between pressing the button and when it actually takes the shot) when taking pictures indoors is too long. Outside theres hardly a noticable delay. And because I bought it to take pictures of puppies, it was quite frustrating, as the little guys tend to move alot. Also the delay between pictures is longer than I'd like, after the flash I get the full attention of my little subjects only as long as the delay. Some of its good qualities are if you forget to put a camera card in, you have the option to transfer photos from camera to card. It also has a touch screen, so when getting your subjects prepaired for a picture you can just tap the screen to shoot. I know I need a more expensive camera but can't afford it, so with some practice I was still able to get some really good shots.

The pictures and video are good. You can NOT record while the AC cord is plugged in. The AC plug is on the bottom and makes using a tripod very difficult. The battery and card are on the bottom as well. The way the door slides it makes it difficult to grasp and the memory card. You can not record more than 8 min vid segments at a time. I bought this camera because it was special price at $62. If my Samsung I purchased 7 years ago had better picture and video quality I would prefer that camera over this newer Nikon. Sad but true.

Hello! I'm from Nicaragua I did receive this camera in August'12 I was very exited I had a another Nikon and had a very good experience with it, so I did decide to buy a new one because the other one was too old (over 4 years) I broke the display and over Nicaragua is too hard try to get replacement parts, the best option is buy a new camera

Pro: This camera is very light, a very comfortable touche screen, has a very good mode for HD videos, very clear and quality images like just Nikon can do!

Cons: Is a shame that every video on HD only can last 8 minutes so you have to stop and start to record other video if you get over 8 minutes, the problem is that you some time lost some good moments that you want on video.

Is a very good camera and I will buy it again, definitely Nikon is the only one brand of camera that I want to use!

I received it quickly and was excited, at first. I only got this because my old Nikon Coolpix broke. I find that the touch screen can be difficult to work with and is "touchy". Not sure the pictures are any better than my old Nikon Coolpix either, which was disappointing. I would much rather use my old Nikon Coolpix. The camera itself is a disappointment.

I needed something in addition to my phone, not to use my battery. This is
great touch screen! I would recommend this as user friendly!

The cover door for SD card and battery does not stay shut. If it wasn't such a hassle and cost for returning, that's just what I would have done. After my purchase I found the camera I thought I was getting in a department store. It pays to shop around. Convenience isn't always convenient. I was expecting a bright purple color like the picture but it is very dull. (doesn't effect quality of pic)

I received my S4300 a little while ago and I am very impressed so far. Setup is easy, the touch screen is great and the build quality appears to be very good - a solid little camera. I took some indoor shots and they came out great so reasonably low light is not an issue. It's small but not too small to be able to take great pictures easily and carry in your pocket. I got the Case Logic UNZB202 carry case to protect it and it fits perfectly and is small enough to stick in your pocket without adding bulk. I have a Nikon DSLR and set reasonable expectations for a point-and-shoot digital. For the price and what you get - I think it's a wise purchase. I expect I will take many more pictures now that I have a good camera that is so portable.

It's easy to use, the pictures are sharp, easy to download pics onto computer and very compact, I would recommend it.

Recently purchased this camera to use for work, images are clear, very easy to use and easy to carry with it's small size. Now starting to use it for personal when it is not always convenient to carry our Nikon 3100.

I bought this camera for my daughter 11/30/2012. I gave the camera to my daughter on Xmas day. She used the camera approximately two weeks. At this time the camera ceased to work. Of course the 30 days are up, even though she has only used it two weeks. The camera is now enroute to be repaired. I think a new product is in order, not a repaired camera.Oh yeah! Be prepared to pay all postage, and handling to return your defective product.I received my camera back today 01/28/2013! The camera is still non-functional, same issues. I now have to send this new product back again. Customer service is as non- functional as their product.

This little camera is very user friendly. It produces high quality pictures, is very lightweight, and is a great value. I would highly recommend it for a beginner photographer.

I gave this camera to my wife for Christmas and we both really like it. It takes good clear pictures and has many settings to help out. I like the fact that the screen is touch screen so it can help you focus a picture. the zoom for a camera this size is really good. Unfortunately our toddler also loved this camera and threw it in the washing machine unknowingly to us. We would buy this camera again though it seems to be hard to find.

I purchased this camera for my husband for his birthday, it takes great pictures and is light enough that he doesn't mind carrying it around. He loves that it's small enough to fit in his pocket, and easy enough to use that he can whip it out and take a picture in seconds.

I'm still trying to get use to it. The touchscreen makes it a bit different and so many options. Right at the moment I am regretting not having my old Nikon Coolpix 7600 repaired. I thought it would be more cost efficient to buy a new one. I liked the idea of being able to recharge it and not having to bother with batteries. I am sure I will get use to it--I just have to use it more! I do like the Nikon and have an old 35mm one.

So I was kinda skeptical about this camera after reading a few reviews, but I am SO glad I purchased anyway. I have not experienced the lag time between taking pics. It's actually rather fast. The picture quality is unbelievable! I always keep it in my purse for those just in case moments, and the battery stays charge for at least a week with minimal use. For the price, you can't go wrong. GET THIS CAMERA!!!

If anything it has more features than your average photo-taker would need. Touch scree is superb. My 11 year old granddaughter showed us grandparents how to use it.

Very good for carrying when you have to much luggage. I like this camera for it's clarity and because it is a light load. As a photographer I carry a ton of equipment but every so offten this camera does the job and provides me with simple solution and because it is 16 megapixals the finished product is outstanding.

I bought this because I assumed it would be simple to use. I was correct. The touch screen puts all the most used controls just a touch away. Quick and easy to use, it fits my needs perfectly. It powers up and focuses quickly. Picture quality is very good for my use.

I wanted something newer and a little sleeker than my old camera and this was perfect. I love the touchscreen capabilities and the zoom is great! I've only taken inside pictures so far, but I can already tell outside pictures are going to be phenomenal! I noticed what a few other reviewers said about inside pics not being great, but I think they are actually pretty good, you just have to be patient. Like others have said, if you want something that takes perfect indoor pictures you have to shell out quite a bit more money. I'm happy with my little camera!

Great deal. Used discounts, coupons and promos and got camera for just about half of the Walmart price. Very satisfied.

First Nikon product. Replaced older Canon models (A530, A580).
Quite a lot of features (technology keeps changing). Have not yet tried all the features but very happy with the pictures taken so far. Video quality is also very good (better than the Canon models we had).
Good thing is it has rechargeable batteries (no need to take AA batteries), the batteries do last longer than AA (though there are those Li Energizer batteries that do last long).
Like this camera so far for simple photography (not a professional photographer).

I would not mind having one myself for a pocket camera. Lugging the T3i around is always a worry. Though I love my T3i, I always afraid of it getting stolen if I leave it in the car etc. And its not there when that picture you could have took pops up! No complaints on the pictures from the Nikon so far.

I love this camera!! takes beautiful pictures, i took it with me to new mexico and we went in Carlsbad caverns and I got better pictures than anyone else. So clear!!

This is a replacement camers for one that was lost on vacation. I ordered the same one again because it's easy to use, takes great photos and video, fits well into your pocket or purse, has many esasy to use functions for non professionals like myself. we now own two of these cameras...one for my husband and one for myself.
