great quality picture especially indoors is mostly where i take pictures,the aspects of this item i like most is the features its a touch screen,easy menu to read is a good thing ,and the tripod a timer of 10 seconds,and the scene's is ajustable,if need charging can do it computer or wall you will be pleased,i use it to take photos for my facebook outtings and so forth,i have used several cameras but this one is for keeps you can adjust the lightening for in doors i do use firworks more in scenes but potriate is good for the natural colors are great,this camera is attractive but the bad reviews are nothing if you havent explored it is a good little camera the greatest is the out look all together is easy for beginners there is nothing to dislike,ask more of its performance would be great.

This camera is nice for the price. It can easily fit it in my pants pocket and this is very convenient.
Indoor photos are good enough but not great. The photos indoors are a little dark and miss small details on the images.
To get crystal clear indoor and outdoor photos you'll probably have to buy a higher end camera.

I really love this little camera. Recharges on the USB, holds a charge, nice sharp pictures and all the functions are easy to use.

small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, it still is comfortable to hold in big hands. The 16 mp give very detailed and sharp pictures.

This is my second coolpix camera in two years. The first one was a real lemon and I should have sent it back but I kept coddling it along until I became tired of doing that. So far so good with this model.

My boyfriend got me this Camera for my birthday through New Egg and I was super excited about getting a new camera (mine had been stolen last Christmas along with my purse). I took it to my sister's wedding 5 days later and attempted to use the "party/indoor" setting. Every single picture taken came out like it was a 1.5 megapixel camera and the battery died in an hour after being charged all night long. I called Nikon and they basically told me I was an idiot who didn't know how to use a camera. The touch screen started changing settings on it's own and was taking pictures by itself.

We wrote to New Egg and they replaced the camera with a new one a week later. The new camera has worked great, when used outside on an outside setting in a well lit area. The battery has lasted weeks at a time in between charges.

I recently took this camera to his cousin's wedding where I attempted to use the "party/indoor" setting again. The pictures came out blurry, awful and they look like a 1.5 megapixel setting.

I don't blame my boyfriend for his choice, after all he doesn't just buy electronics, he researches them long before he decides to purchase. I feel bad when he's sitting right there and I start having difficulties with this camera as he bought it for me.

I had told my boyfriend not to get me a Kodak (even though I love Kodak) because I had read they would be going out of business or filing for bankruptcy. I didn't want an Olympus and I was going back and forth between Cannon and Nikon. I should've just asked for a new Kodak.

Needless to say, I thought Nikon was supposed to be a good brand, guess it only qualifies when you get the $1500 camera as opposed to the $300 camera.

This camera was purchased for me as a gift so that I could have a small,portable point & shoot camera in addition to my Nikon D40 DSLR (which I love). Unfortunately, I didn't use it until just after the 30 day return policy was up. On the third day of a family vacation, after using it for two days, I pulled it out from the safety of my camera bag to use it, and turned the power on. The screen showed a lens error, then it immediately powered down. A friend, who assembles computers for a living,couldn't even get it to work. About the only thing that I might have done to cause the lens error was that there was a small piece of fuzz from the camera bag in the lens, that I removed following the lens error. The day before, I dropped it from a distance no greater than 15 inches, but a camera should not be so fragile that it can't handle an occasional minor drop or two. I am convinced that the camera was poorly constructed from the start. After my vacation, when I looked at the pictures taken on the first two days with it, several of them had half of the picture missing, as if the shutter was stuck.

When the camera was "working," I was frustrated with the fact that I could take pictures by touching the screen; I found this very annoying as I accidentally took several pictures of my shirt, the ground, etc.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of quality from this Nikon camera. I cannot afford to keep buying $130 one-use cameras, so I will never buy another Nikon point & shoot camera. My kids have Canon Powershots that have lasted for 3 years so far.

For someone who wants to carry a camera in their pocket so they can catch photos on the fly, this is a great little pocket camera.
It has good clarity and does great macro shots which is what I use it for. It can also take pictures in low light without the flash and
they come out amazingly clear. It is easy to use, easy to understand and very convenient. Can't go wrong for a small camera and the price is nice as well. I would suggest an extra battery so you can have a spare for long days of shooting because you have to charge the battery while in the camera and that puts you out of commission for a while. You need to be able to charge at night when you are not using the camera.

This was an amazing deal and a great camera. The company was very gracious in honoring a once in a lifetime deal, and I am thankful for it. The camera takes great pictures, it may take some time to get use to but it is very easy to use. I did not get purple, It came in sliver - it didn't matter.

I purchased this camera a couple of years ago and am very happy with the quality of the pictures and that the battery holds its charge for a very long time. The focus works quickly without delay. I wanted to purchase another Nikon Coolpix as a gift and researched the newer Coolpix models. Some of the reviews indicated problems with the shutter getting stuck as well as other issues. Decided to stick with the Coolpix S4300.

Purchased this as a gift for my high school junior daughter, who is taking photography. She loves it and it help fulfill her assignments.

So just to start this off i want to say i have had this camera for close to 2 years now this is by far the best camera i have ever owned. It takes a nice clean picture and the video quality is amazing. The touch screen is sensitive and its is very user friendly. The biggest let down i would say is the battery is a little hard to understand it is very unclear as to where it is, i never know how long i have left. This however can easily be fixed, i carry an extra battery and i have no problem. Another thing to keep in mind is that it has the capability to take 16 megapixel pictures, but as it happens i never set it higher than 8. 8 megapixels is usually more than enough since i am not making posters, but if you are its good for that as well. Overall i would definitely recommend it anyone that is on the edge, or that read one of the bad reviews.

Great little camera. this is my second one,first one stolen. see! everybody want one ever if they can buy their own. i bought mine from Cameta both times. very fast service and good people to deal with. good service like Amazon .

I like this camera, because I wanted a smaller camera I could carry in my pocket and yet, take great pictures, view pictures with touch screen and store a lot of pictures. This camera does all of that, plus it has a 6X wide zoom and 16.0 megapixels. It's fabulous. I had the Nikon 4100 touch screen with 5x zoom and 12 megapixels, and this is so much better and it has so many more attributes you'd have to buy it to see all of them. Easy to charge and the charge lasts a pretty significant time. If you are taking a lot of pictures in one day, the charge will probably last one whole day.

My daughter received this as a gift May 2012 and it died in July under the warrantee we shipped it to Melville, NY and they repaired it. Oct 2013 camera is dead and out of warrantee. It will cost us the cost of the camera to repair it. Stay clear of this one. We got the LEMON!

Once again haven't really used the product yet. Took a couple of pictures in the house that turned out great.

The motor has a design flaw. Shutter quits opening. Pictures are great but Nikon has to fix the motor issue.

I am no expert. I just needed a small compact point and shoot camera. This thing takes really nice photos. Very easy to use. Decent optical zoom to get you relatively close to whatever you are shooting. No regrets on this purchase.

The pictures are good. Ease of use for the most part is good. Reviews say this is a wifi camera but I cannot find anything about wifi in the manual or on the camera itself. I did see specific storage cards that were upwards of $89 that said something about wifi compatible, maybe that's what I needed. I'm not sure, just dissappointed because I based my decision on price and features. I'd have picked a different one based on that single fact, as that was the most important thing to me, next was tying for ease of use and picture quality. Considering sending back but not sure my options. Will have to check into it.

Everything is looking good, the pictures are amazing and it is a nice camera !!! The price is compatible with the product and quality.

I bought the more expensive Nikon Coolpix a few months before for almost 3 times the money. I hated it, and began using my previous Nikon Coolpix that had cracked. Then, I happen to see this one and for the cheap price, I took a gamble. It works great. I love how easy it is to use (the other one kept accidentally taking photos and was very hard to open and close). This one is smaller and much easier to use. I never did find the video button on my expensive Nikon, but this one is right on the front.

Also, I love the zoom feature. I've never seen one that is so easy to use and has access to this feature right on the front top right of camera. You can zoom in and out while you are taking videos too. And, when playing back the photos, in order to view them closer, simply move your finger over the same zoom button. It's very light weight and fits into the pocket of my purse.

I'm glad I purchased this camera. Almost didn't because of some of the bad reviews. The touch screen is awesome on this camera. It comes with a stylus for you to use.. You can't use it like a cell phone touch screen.. You HAVE to use the stylus or your fingernail. It takes excellent pictures outside.. I'm still learning how to use it I've only had it for a short time. I'm planning on practicing until October and then I'm taking it with me to Bermuda.. Hopefully I will have worked out all the kinks by then.

All in all, awesome camera I would recommend, especially for the money.

DO NOT BUY AMAZON'S RECOMMENDED SD CARD. I really love my camera, it's great for a student who wants to take general photos at parties. I'm getting ready for vacation and realized my camera will neither turn on nor charge. Rushing to fix before my vaca and the Nikon rep told me I was using an SD Card that was not suited for the camera. The SD card killed my camera, but Nikon is willing to fix the problem since it's within the 1 year warranty period.

I rated My Nikon COOLPIX S4300 16 MP Digital Camera with 5 stars because the quality of the pictures far out shined the quality of the older Sony Cyber-Shot that I had. I took my Nikon to my 50th high school reunion and I am thrilled with how clear the pictures are. Those memories will last forever. Thank you for such a high quality product.

I purchased this camera just prior to going out of country for 6 months. I took 10 photos in the USA than 20 more in Mexico and from that 10th day I had it the lense would not extend outward to permit taking pictures. Camera shops in Mexico and then in the USA on my return home after 6 months had no idea how to fix it. It was quite a disappointment to take a new camera for an adventure and it failed near instantly.

I love it the pictures are very clear and the battery lasts a long time too I would definitely recommend this

I bought this camera a year ago, and i gave it to my mom as a gift, but what a surprise.. the flash didnt work; i live out of usa, so i couldnt return it, i took it to a special center for revision and it cost me almost the same that the camera. Too bad, not recomended.

Liked the Nikon S4300 for its picture clarity, quick response and touch screen.
Touch screen still would require improvement, overall this is worth the money spent.

Pictures were ok, but compare to other brands of cameras I own (that are still working after many years of use by me and my now 7 years old son)This camera lasted 1 year of random use!!!!

Replaced an earlier model of this Nikon CoolPix camera when the lens extension/retraction mechanism went Tango Uniform. Amazed at all the new features yet it's still simple to use and produces excellent images.

Although I haven't used it a lot, due to my forgetfulness, the pictures that I have taken are very nice.

I notified PlatinumBuys on my 1st purchase of camera being totally dead. I sent camera back to seller and within 8 days I had a brand new camera that worked great. Thank you for your fine service. I love the camera however, within 2 months the battery was completely dead and not taking a charge. I only used the camera a dozen times and charged it once. It will cost me another $40 for a replacement battery.

I bought this camera to take pictures of my children.....but the shutter lag is so bad that I barely catch smiles and/or them even looking at the camera! I even tried taking it out with friends for my birthday and it felt like we had to hold smiles for a full 10 seconds before the picture actually snapped! it's not a bad price but not worth the trouble...I put it up and went back to using my old camera!
