Perfect for connecting TV to older Technics HiFi
Have been using this now for just over 3 years to connect my Samsung TV through my rather old Technics HiFi and the sound is way better than all these sound bars you can buy now. One day the Technics will fail - but until that time I'm sticking with it :-)

Great little device
At first i was sceptical but after listening to this DAC, I was amazed from the sound quality.
I connected it to my SKY Q Mini Box via optical audio cable and powered it via the usb cable provided to the
usb output on the SKY Q Mini Box and was amazed by what this cheap DAC has to offer. But the optical cable that comes with the device is rubbish. Buy A quality optical cable. I am using Audio Technica ATH M50 X Professional Headphones with this product. Really Happy With This.

A reasonable DAC for the price.
Out of the box, the product is aesthetically pleasing, it comes with a short USB cable for power and a short optical cable. However, it would be better to have the speaker sockets on the back as depending on how you plug in speakers it might be a bit messy.
The product is functional and does the job. Unfortunately I found that when I'm using headphones I get a constant hiss. Additionally there's random clicks and pops. The volume control in the lower volumes does not operate correctly and the sound in 1 ear will fade out much quickly than the other. I cannot recommend this product.
Edit: The seller sent me a replacement which doesn't suffer from the same audio issues as the first unit I received. Still a minor issue would still be with the volume control. When turned all the way down to the point there's no audio there's is some crackling, but to be fair no one would do this. Additionally when adjusting the volume it does crackle, but once you are done the audio is stable. It's certainly not audiophile gear and you wouldn't expect to be at this price point. If the manufacturer sorted out their quality control issues and used a better volume control it would still be worthy of being a 5 star product even if it was a couple of pounds more.

Great for what I wanted and now I can hear what actors say clearly
Does the job I wanted and great to have volume control.
I have a bit of a lash up TBH, 3 devices outputting optical into a remote control switch box with a single output. That goes into a splitter box, one into a digital amp, which has no headphone socket and one that goes into this device. I power the devices from a powered USB bank with on/off switches and although a little messy, it's quite effective. It means I can listen to the devices using headphones and the quality is very good. There is one down side though and that is a hum. It's normally not an issue once the sound is on, but it can be present occasionally and I think it is the optical in connection, so perhaps use a cable with a firm fit. Ideally though and I realize it would cost more, it would be nice if it had remote control and had phono in, but more importantly do something to reduce the hum issue. Another positive is you can hear people speak clearly, so much better than the TV speakers or through my amp and speakers for that matter, which is a big thing, given the mumbling and voice sound on Films and TV shows these days.

Simple way to connect modern TV to tried and tested amp+speakers
I have an old analogue hifi amp but a brand new Samsung Smart TV. My inputs (Apple TV, Virgin Media box, playstation) all plug straight into the TV but I want to get the sound into the hifi and speakers. This gadget fits the bill perfectly, and I chose it particularly because
- it handles 192kHz sampling which is 2x the default standard most other gadgets support. In theory this lets it offer higher quality sound from the high quality sources (like Blu-ray)
- it is powered off a normal USB port. I don't want yet another plug near the TV which is already a cable-fest. And I have a lot of gadgets near the TV with USB ports. So I am plugging the Neoteck into an Apple Airport Express's USB port which provides the power for it. Perfect.
I would have given it 5* but at this point I am not yet convinced the sound quality is completely up to hifi standard. I haven't really used it properly yet and suspect I will be impressed when I do; certainly via my amp and speakers it is already way better than the TV's own built-in speakers. But is it equal to the high quality I get from a modern digital A/V receiver? I'm not sure yet.

Functions as intended, good sound quality, but the headphone port is poor.
Bought this in order to use headphones with my Bluray player via the digital coaxial input (cable bought seperately). It functions very well at this, and the volume control comes in handy as a result. You only have the option to power this my USB though, so unless your input device provides USB power you'll probably want to hook this up to either a computer or another cable. Luckily my old phone uses the same MicroUSB connection to charge, so I just have its charger plugged into this. The headphone port itself feels very rough though compared to other devices. It quite clearly scrapes the headphone jack as it is inserted and removed. Since many jacks have outer coatings over them, I can definitely imagine this damaging them over time. This could probably be solved by using rubber internally, or however most headphone ports manage to keep the motion smooth. Some rubber feet to stop it shifting about and scraping whatever it is placed on also wouldn't have gone amiss, although I'm most concerned about the iffy headphone port more than anything. It is still a very solid option for what I wanted though, and the sound quality has been pretty solid.

High quality audio for a low price.
I've been trying to find a good optical to analog converter for awhile, now that new televisions do not come with the regular headphone jack anymore.
Tried a lot of cheaper versions of this kind of item, and they come with various issues this one fixes
The best thing about this one is definitely the volume control knob. Since optical audio will always come at full blast and televisions/consoles do not seem to have any way of changing that.
Then its power supply is just provided by a random USB port you might not be using, either on a TV, console or even the PC. Noise derived from those ports is virtually nonexistent (unless you crank up the volume to maximum, but why would you want to do that). That was an issue other brands I've tried had.
Audio out is clean, non distorted and high quality. At least stereo sound, I've never tried surround mind you.
L/R are not switched up for no apparent reason like another one I've tried.
I have this connected to a sound mixer with no issues.
Pros:
- Volume control knob which actually works
- No background noise
- Easy to set up
- Compact
- Price tag
Cons:
- None for me

WOW best £20 iv ever spent!!! Easy to set up and it works a treat
Absolutely Made up with this little gadget, my old Tv set up included a 37" Panasonic first Gen Plasma Tv connected to a Bose Cinemate surround sound system, the TV finally gave out on Christmas Day 2016 just as i was just about to watch Dr Who, this lead to the purchase of a new 55"LG OLED Tv that came with some fancy sound bar attached which was to my mind a little disappointing! so recently i decided to connect the old Bose system and compare the two unfortunately the Tv didn't have the old style phono connectors that the Bose required and using the 3.5mm sockets for external sound hook up didn't work properly as i only got sound from one channel and the subwoofer didn't work at all, so i did a little research and found i could hook it up via a Optical connection so after searching on Amazon i decided on the Neoteck DAC Converter, literally within five minutes of unpacking i had it connected it actually took me longer to go through the Tv's menus to activate the optical output but once it was all up and running the difference in sound quality was amazing the Bose Cinemate had never sounded this good ever!! so iff you have equipment with the older style connections and a modern Tv that doesn't get one of these things easy to install and reasonably priced as well.

Great Device, And So Far So Good
My Neoteck DAC arrived today and I am just testing it out and so far it is brilliant, it has added more, clear midrange and volume to my system. I can now hear the lead singer's voice, on my digital albums, far more clearly than I did before, the midrange now has a whole new clarity to it and the background singers can now also be clearly heard. And this is all on the first few minutes of swapping out my old DAC and installing the Neoteck.
I have just started to test out this device and, so far, I am more than happy with it because I am now hearing instruments I have not heard before, they seem to have been buried in the background. However, I've got more albums to play and plan to conclude my review in a few days from now, but for now mark me down as being very pleased with this new DAC.
It's been over two weeks now and I am still very pleased with this device, and confirm my initial 5 star rating.
I have just started to test out this device and, so far, I am more than happy with it because I am now hearing instruments I have not heard before, they seem to have been buried in the background. However, I've got more albums to play and plan to conclude my review in a few days from now, but for now mark me down as being very pleased with this new DAC.

My TV has no headphone socket!.
I have a new Samsung 4k tv which I got during black Friday sales brilliant TV but there was no headphone socket! Crazy. I needed some how to be able to use my headphones so not to wake the family at night as I work shifts. I found this product which does just the job I have connected the Neoteck 192hz DAC from the optical port on unit with cable provided to the optical port on my TV then plugged in my headphones into headphone socket. The ability to adjust the volume is a good feature which was the main reason I bought it.One thing I found was I could not get any volume from the Neoteck this was not the units fault I found out the sound settings in TV settings menu needed to be changed from TV speakers to optical out which unfortunately also turned the speakers off which meant when the headphones were being used there was no sound to the TV speakers!.

Works well with my Panasonic TV
I've been using an amp and speakers from my TV output for decades. When I finally bought a new Panasonic flat screen TV, I was disappointed to find that it only had a SPDIF(optical) audio out and did not feature RCA/Phono analogue audio out. Although the TV speaker output was a step up from the old set I really missed the clarity of my Tannoys, especially as the volume on DVDs and Blu Rays can be rather quiet. I had to crank the TV volume to 100%, which is never recommended. So I ordered this little box. It arrived very quickly and is easy to install. Produces a nice sound so I give it five stars but reserve the right to edit or remove these comments if it doesn't stay the distance.
NOTE: Make sure that the output from your TV is set to PCM or LPCM because this box doesn't convert from 5.1 audio output to analogue. I suddenly found that Sundays' Match Of the Day had no SPDIF audio, altho he Audio Description channel was fine as was TV volume. (Not that I watch football, I was just puzzled as to why the box had stopped working. Turns out it was working fine). All other channels were unaffected. I went into the sound menu for my Panasonic TV and found that the SPDIF output was set to Auto. Once set to PCM, the amplifier volume was there.

Great little bit of kit
Great little bit of kit. You can plug it right into any USB port and it will power the device with no issues, I have mine plugged into the TV just for the power source alone. I bought this one as the sound quality spec is a lot better than others, the 192KHz makes all the difference to great sound output! If your a sound buff you want this one and not any other cheaper model. With the choice of 2 inputs and 2 outputs it makes this unit very versatile when setting up. Please make sure the unit is NOT powered when you first set it up as you will experience noise feedback and possible hearing damage. A handy feature is the volume nob, make sure this is all the way down first then adjust as required once you have set it all up. Comes with a comprehensive manual on how to set it up and 2 cables as shown in the images a short USB charging cable and a toslink audio cable.

Great Product Recommended
After carrying out homework and searching for some considerable time and mistakingly ordering a similar item which incidentally did not work, this is despite a considerable effort trying to make the unit work which failed. I eventually discovered the Neoteck NTK003 Digital to Audio Converter. This unit differs greatly from the other unit that I ordered in that the Neoteck has a volume control. Setting up is straight forward, insert the optical cable into the appropriate socket on the TV connect the unit to the mains, plug in your headphones and it will be possible to watch television late at night without disturbing the family, a great result fantastic !!
To all owners of Smart TVs Samsung etc who wish to listen via headphones without disturbing the family or the neighbours, this is the answer. I wholeheartedly recommend this product. The delivery was great I am totally satisfied. Thank you Neoteck.
