I was looking for a headset for work and home office with:- good voice quality- one ear freeThis fits my needs perfectly!!

The microphone simply does not work, even my built-on mike from 10 feet away works better that this Microsoft product. Adjusting the position of the mike is completely inconvenient adn not quite possible, to be honest. Waste of money, do NOT recommend to anyone.

We purchased a very cheap Plantronics headset to record demos and trainings using a screen capture software. The headset was really cheap, but when recording it had a fuzzy sound. I wanted to purchase a more expensive headset to get a more premium recording sound. I looked for noise cancellation. Most reviews on the headsets I found still had background noise, even though it stated noise cancellation as a recording feature. This product did not have a review so I thought I would provide one for future buyers. I literally just unboxed this headset and hooked it up. I was blown away by the quality of the speakers. It fit very comfortably and most importantly it recorded a crisp and clean track. No background fuzz or anything. I cannot give my opinion on how long it will last, but the durability seems there. It came with a tie string pouch for it to be placed in. Overall very good product!!!

I tend to prefer the behind the ear design, but this headset is extremely uncomfortable to the point of being painful on the ears after wearing them for a short amount of time. Also the microphone is way too long. I have to contort the wire in a strange pattern to shorten it enough to be in the right place.No pros other than some sound can go in and come out of it.

My voice sounds tinny with the black foam piece on it. I keep having to repeat myself because no one can hear me. I also have to hold the microphone up because it doesn't stay in place. Not worth the price. Do not recommend.

it works perfectly. it's light, portable and sound is excelent for work purposes. microsoft is the best hardware company and i certainly recommend

This headset is excelent on all accounts but there are two that made me give it 4 stars instead 5.1. microphone hand is a bit stiff and can't be easily adjusted ad those on HAMA headsets2. it is not so comfortable, but that could be just my head shape. No negative points on this, just warning if you have bigger rounder head it might be a bit tight.Other things, mic quality, build quality, sound quality and all other - excelent! Love the carrying pouch. Did I mention they are completely collapsible and thus easier to pack?

OK. Maybe I have a fat head, but to comfortably use this headset, I had to fully extend both sides of it. On the third day I used it, when spreading the sides apart to put it on my head, the side with the earpiece snapped off. I can push it back into the slot and slide it closed and still use it, but it is not as comfortable. Just be super careful when bending the sides to put it on your head! The sound quality is excellent!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son. He used it every day, did not abuse it, and it broke after less than a month's use. The earpiece detached from the headband; it broke right off. Flimsy plastic, let the buyer beware!

The headphones feel cheap in your hands, the plastic hurts/pinches my ears (I have liked headphones like these in the past) and the microphone does not capture audio well.

I really do like this headset. I do a lot of online conferencing and I use them quite a bit.Cons:-I have long, thick hair and it's awkward to wear my hair down with these (I have to braid my hair and place the headphones over the braid -- which puts the headphones at an awkward angle. It's not the most inconvenient thing in the world, but I thought it worth mentioning).-I can't wear my glasses with these because of the way they sit on my ears.-I can only wear them for about an hour or two before they start to pinch my ears.Pros:-good price-great for travel because they fold up and come with a travel bag.-work exactly as I want them to.-have a little remote that allows you to easily mute the microphone and turn up the volume in the headphones.I have had them for about 18 months and they still work fine (I probably use them four to five times a month, two hours at a time).If you're very interested in sound/audio quality and/or using them for gaming, I wouldn't recommend these. But if you're doing a lot of traveling and need them for online conferences (or Skype sessions with your family), then these are great.They don't get five stars because they're not the most comfortable.

Although the title was (apparently) changed to no longer claim it was USB, it certainly doesn't say it was analog only. The photo doesn't even show the part that plugs into the computer. There is no way to tell from the photo or description what this product is.Only USB will serve my purposes and so now I'm stuck seeing if I can go through the hassle of mailing a return. Wish I'd have just bought it at a local store. This would be over already.

I bought 3 and they all work just fine. I had a little trouble setting up Ventrilo but that wasn't because of these headphones.

Although I will never use it, have skype and I'm perfectly happy with it, I installed MS live chat to get it to work.Headset is recognized by the OS and can be used. It was easy to assign it's usage to all programs. Skype, the voice control etc. I thought that even though the start was shaky it will be smooth sailing from now on.Yeah, right?!I have kitchen conjoined to the living room. I can't go to there (roughly 15 feet, no obstacles, completely open space, no interference) without sounding like speaking from the bottom of the sea floor. If you go any farther you exceed the range and loose connection.What is even worse, you need to pair this device each time you want to use it. So lets say it is charging close to the place you sit.You need to take it of the charger, walk to the transmitter (USB cable connected to your PC), pair it, and then you can finally use it.Do not rely on recommendation of all the MS representatives pissing their pants with excitement how great this product is.It is not. It is wasted money, as all the MS products, W7 not being exception. This product sucks terribly. It will work somehow "if you spend time on installing, repairing, defending, protecting and all the BS so well known to all PC owners.It is like selling you a car that is suppose to be BMW but it is GEO Metro with the cardboard depiction of BMW attached to it.

Ive been looking for a remote headset like this.The typical ones are far, far more expensive. They usually range in the 2-500 dollar ballpark. I have bought them before, the high dollar ones do not give you many more benefits outside a longer range.This unit is perfect for internet telephone. You can walk all around without a phone cord, adjust the volume up or down and mute the microphone. The battery lasts for a long time (this was my first concern when I bought my first one). The first one I bought is still working, so when I saw the MS Lifechat 6k at this price, I had to buy another one. Now I have 2 units, the first one is 1.5 years old and still holds a charge long enough to use for 4-5 hours a day. I was surprised that I could not find this headset in any local retail outlets anymore, but i can find the lifechat 3k (which is a corded set with 2 huge ear muffs to make your ears sweat).

When I started out with this headset I completely agreed with every single one of these reviews and was ready to junk the thing. Although I decided to call Microsoft and at least hear them out. When I spoke with the tech on the phone he stated that this is a decent headset you just have to make sure you are setting it up correctly.1. Allow the headset to charge for 4 hours.2. Make sure it is plugged directly into a usb 2.0 port. (not a hub or anything like that)3. Hold down the power button until the lights on the headset start scanning back and forth (after I did this it started to work great..not sure if it is recalibrating or what), when they stop and resync with the reciever you should be good.One thing I was doing was trying to run the headset from a virtual environment and that was no good because the resources weren't there to support this hardware. I could hear one out of every 5 words the person on the other end was saying. So with this in mind if your computer is running slow to begin with..this probably isn't the headset for you. When I installed this headset on a fresh install of windows xp with the above steps. It worked awesome. My only complaint is the ear piece gets a little uncomfortable after a while.

I bought it 2 months ago for gaming , the microphone blew up and my friends said it didn't sound good , it was very static. It pinches my hair alot and that bugs me alot. the pads fall off easily. Don't buy this headset , it isn't worth it.

Needed a mic to do some screencast tutorials, should have done some more research before buying this piece of junk. Not only is the sound terrible, the headset is only large enough for an infant.

why exactly does this thing come with an xbox 360 wireless reciever????? it doesnt sync to my xbox!!! and when u sync it to the controller, what is that suposed to do? i did it and i couldnt use the controller at all and still couldnt talk to anyone or hear anyone in my xbox party. i feel cheated and abused right now. im not gonna send it back beacuase im afraid of how that would even work out. just dont buy it ppl

This does not work with an Xbox 360. 1 star for amazon having it under headsets for the xbox 360 and 1 star for microsofts deceiving tactics.

I travel extensively for work and use this headset for Skype calls, other VoIP activities and also for recording training material. I love the portability of this headset and it has worked extremely well for me. I love the convenience of not being attached to my laptop during VoIP calls. The headset is a bit uncomfortable when you first put it on your ear, but that quickly fades away. Call quality has always been great. I highly recommend this headset for road warriors.

I bought this product almost specifically for use in online gaming. However, my second headset has just had its microphone simply stop working (Microsoft replaced the first one free of charge). It's fine one day and then no longer works and the Microsoft help pages only deal with their USB headsets and I am again unable to resolve the problem. If you want a great and inexpensive headset for about a month, this is your product, beyond that, don't count on the microphone working consistently.

No where in the advertisement for this product did it say that the product was not compatable with Windows 7. Since I can't install it I don't know how it would work.
