I'm new to the webcam world but have viewed other webcams. I had high expectations with Microsoft's currently 'best available' webcam. The camera does come through in a few important areas: Image quality is VERY good and auto-focus works great. This cam works great in rooms with low light. The UI (User Interface) is easy and quick to make sense. The only down-side is trade-off between image quality and frame-rate. Keeping moderate quality imaging brings the FR down a little. I've also experienced occasional frozen frames for about 30 - 60 seconds -a little annoying. The interface does allow you to drop resolution for higher frame-rate... Again, it's all about trade-offs!I do reccomend this webcam!

I've used the webcam several times to make video calls and have been very satisfied with both the image and the sound quality. It's almost as good as talking on a phone. Would definitely recommend to others...can't beat it for the price.

This webcam has all the capabilities you'd look for, and a very competitive price to boot. Take 7.2 MP photos and record video at 2 MP quality. I'm happy with the purchase.

I bought this for my laptop so I could stay in contact while traveling. It works as advertised and recommend it. The clip that hold it on the laptop is a bit strange but I dont think it will break...if handled with care. Software is basic but I only needed it for the drivers anyway. Works perfect on Skype. Great price on Amazon, way cheaper than local retailers!

This webcam works very well for me. I am totally satisfied with it's operation. My HP laptop has a curved edge which makes for a difficult surface for the calmp, but it stays on just fine.

Granted, this software is obviously geared at the teen market ... simple to install software, mediocre quality video and childish cartoons (which another user also mentioned above).What's ridiculously disapointing is that setting a zoom on the camera, applying it and then hitting Record... the zoom returns to default settings. Why did I bother setting the camera's zoom then in the first place?The picture quality is mediocre. Sound quality is above average. Ease of use is certainly great but software is almost pointless.Not impressed. I should have dug around more before investing the $129 into this.

No problems thus far. Easy to use. The attaching clip worried me the most before i bought this product but it has held up fine.

Hi folks, I am certainly a challenged computer person but one of our grandson's who is now residing on the west coast of Mexico--we think they are legal residents !!--- requested that we get a webcam so we could comunicate via Skype. In fact there were several requests because I did not think I wanted more electronic gadgets to try and learn to operate. Well, I finally did order the vx-3000 and found that it was a pre-school exercize to get it set up --WOW ! I think it is awesome and highly recommend it!! Doyle

Easy and simple handling and using. Good picture quality. Transport bag could be more robust. No cover for the lense.

I bought this for my frequent trips to Korea so I can keep in touch with my wife and daughter. The picture quality is very clear. The clip mechanism held on my Thinkpad T60p with no issues. I would prefer if the mechanism wasn't springloaded because I think this will break eventually, but that's hard to tell. The neoprene travel case is very useful for protecting the camera in my laptop bag. The camera worked flawlessly with Windows Live Messenger.

I bought two of these webcams, based on the reviews I read here. I installed one of them on my son's computer (running Vista Home Premium) so my 5-year-old grandson in Washington state could video call me in Ohio. Installation was a snap. It's so easy--just a push of the button on the webcam, and my grandson's video call comes through on Windows Live Messenger. The image and voice are very clear.I installed the other one on a computer running XP. Again, installation was problem-free, and my sister is thrilled with how easy it is to use. I recommend this inexpensive little webcam for widespread family members everywhere!

Very pleased with this product. My family in England say I am much clearer than my previous webcam and the microphone is excellent. It seems to adjust to the lighting in the room which is great. I love the fact that it attaches to my laptop so I'm more mobile when using Skype. It does seem to get quite warm when I leave it plugged in but that's my only complaint.

This webcam does have good video quality, but the clipping mechanism to hook it onto your laptop LCD is about the junkiest I've ever beheld. If your screen bezel is not absolutely flat or squared off (my Thinkpad has a little lip on it) you'll do all sorts of interesting contortions to find a way to hold it where it's usable.If you're not sure this will clip on to your laptop screen based on that description, then I'd suggest you pass on this one.

I was about to give up on webcams. I had nightmare after nightmare - especially with the support from HP. Worst ever! I am not a Microsoft groupie, but I have to say this is one hell of a webcam. The picture is fabulous. I don't know what else to say besides - If you are on the fence between this and another brand, this one stood out leaps above the rest at the same price and more.

Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000 Win USBWe've enjoyed videocons with our distant family members, where previously we had to communicate with audio only. The installation was a bit cumbersome and I'd like to see a larger view onscreen, but the product is definitely worth the price.

hello. anyone reading this, will be interested in the details of actually having this item. I ordered this from amazon, after some personal debate, going from website to website, searching. finally decided on amazon. first get this home, out of the box, you start to run the software, and it asks you to install the MSN software FIRST. after you get through MSN, you get to go back to the cd-rom, to install the rest of the cd that comes with this. of course, if you do not wish to have MSN on your system, you can go to add/remove in your control panel. after I got it all installed, and started to run it, it has an auto-update in it. THIS took a LONG time to download, but I finally got it done. and I picked out my victim for trying it on first on my yahoo msngr. they say it looks good, and it sounds good, with the built-in microphone.all in all,..I like it.it is fairly cheap to buy, easy to install, and easy to get started.all the others claiming they had an issue with the cam base, must be doing something odd. mine seems to sit still and I have had no issue.I gave this a perfect 5...but maybe I am too easy to please.of all the reviews of video cams, the vx-3000 was my favorite to pick and I am not sorry.

I use this camera with my laptop, when I run Skype.Setup was easy. A few minutes and I was done.The resolution is good. My only qualm is that the button on top of the camera can only be used (as far as I can see) for running MS Messanger. It would have been nice to be able to program it.

I've been using the cam for a little bit now and like the video quality. My wife and I can see each other pretty well! Like the small design & cool carrying case. There's a mic on the webcam too and it provides pretty good sound. The only thing that I don't love about it is that I can't use it over on my desktop PC because it won't attach to that monitor (monitor is too wide)...only to my laptop monitor. Overal - great webcam.

This product works as advertised. Pix is clear. Audio is good and easily controled on screen. I like the 1 button push to activate feature on the cam itself. It has a whole bunch of effects that u can add to liven up any video conference with pals around the world

Works great, just as advertised. Clear, sharp video, even in low light conditions. My only beef is that the Microsoft software is optimized for use with MS LiveCall; I'm using with Skype and some fun software features included on the driver CD do not work within Skype, i.e face tracking, user defined background scenes.

this a great product for those of us who technology updates are a challenge.The directions to install are easy to follow and the troubleshoot is also easy to understand. I love this product!!!Great images, focus and angles, just great!!
