I am very pleased with this product. The camera is small, has a good quality picture, and has a very flexible stand \ mount. It can be perched on top of your monitor, or on an appropriate spot on you desk (if unlike me, you have free space on your desk!). The unit comes with 3 interchangable face plates - a maroon red, white, and a blue face place. To switch them is rather easy.A light shows on the webcam when it is in use, and it has a microphone built in. The install is quite easy - you just load the drivers via a supplied CD. There are some rather numerous downloads and updates that it grabs from the internet. MS Live is installed.I set this up as my default device for Skype and MS Live, and it works admirably. This camera is small enough that it could easily be put on a laptop.

I really can't tell if the camera is any good because I haven't been able to get it to work with my computer. It works well with Windows 7 RC.I now have a new computer with windows 7 professional and this camera works great. Just plugged it in and windows installed the drivers and it has been working great. I don't know why it wouldn't work with RC.

This VX-7000 provides a good image quality with a higher resolution and also has a nice fancy design. The installation of this webcam is very easy and stable on the top of a stand-alone monitor. Or, this can be stood on the desk. But this can not be installed on the top of notebook PC monitor. If you use Window XP in your computer, Service Pack 2 is required to install this webcam.

The reviews I read on the Microsoft LifeCam VX-5500 convinced me that it was far and away the webcam to buy. In fact I bought three of them. Two for family elsewhere. After a week of trying; loading and downloading; deleting and reloading 5 times, I have yet to see the parties on the other side. I hear them fine, just cannot get a picture of them. I followed all instructions to the "t" as well. I downloaded only using Internet Explorer. Kept getting error messages. What a disappointment. Worst thing is, I bought it through Amazon.com but did not receive any return documentation, so I'm stuck with the thing. Would not recommend this webcam! And my family receiving them as gifts must be upset with me by now.

My sister is the one that told me about the vx-7000. I told my daughters in N.C and S.Cal. They bought one too. It's like being in the same room with them. We have alot of fun with the camera, plus we can now visit every weekend.

The drivers that come with it don't work on Vista, so I had to search for an upgraded driver, which was quite a pain. I eventually found one that did work on Microsoft. The description says it will work with Vista, and technically, I suppose it does, but it does not with what is originally packed in the box.

I TRIED MANY WEBCAMS, BUT THIS ONE IS FREAK WHEN IT COMES TO VOICE QUALITY. yOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE CLOSE TO THE MIKE TO CHAT. APART FRO THAT THE VIDEO QUALITY IS CLEAR AND SHARP.

It's not top of the line and it's not HD quality, but for the low price, it does a great job. I have a VX-1000 and this one was for my wife, there is defiantly a difference in video quality.If your looking for a cam to chat with friends or family, you can't go wrong with this one.

If you have Vista, you don't need the setup disk. Vista automatically recognized the Livecam and five minutes later you are up and running. Good pictures and live video.

I bought this for my laptop and it works great! Plugged in and ran smoothly with Skype - no issues so far. It has a clear picture and I have had comments from those on the other end of the line, that the picture is great.

This is a beautiful camera that has a very clear picture and some fun packaged software with it. The picture colors seem to get reduced in low lighting conditions but not as bad as other cameras that I have used. The microphone is very clear although I only used it for a short time to test it since I still prefer my other microphone. The software is fun but I would not recommend letting it start up with Windows automatically since it is uses up resources and does not serve a function other than waiting for when you want to use the camera.

This is a good camera. It has a clear picture and great sound. The only thing it lacks is the ability to manipulate the shot with animation. It has some...like insert a basketball or a heart. I like Microsoft Live Show camera because I can do more with the actually shots...my neices and nephews love when I turn myself into an alien or make my eyes bigger than the rest of my face :) For basic web conferencing this is a good choice for the money. If you are skyping, I'd upgrade to Live Show camera.

The microsoft lifecame was to work with Skype and the video part came up quickly. I had difficulty getting the audio to work but now it is working well. The instructions are not user friendly.

Works well with Skype for both sound and picture. Make sure the camera is OFF when you activate Skype or AIM and let Skype or AIM turn on the camera. I am very pleased with its performance and the price was excellent.

The "Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000" is a great little webcam that installs fairly quickly (on my Vista PC) and provides good video and audio quality.This webcam was very easy to install and setup, taking less than a half hour so before I was able to make my first test shots. The automatic recognition by Windows Live Messenger was great and did not require any additional settings.The video quality is good for web and video chatting, but I wouldn't use it for taking photos that are to be printed. The audio is also good for video chatting, but not much else.This is a good solid webcam that performs better than expected!Recommended!

We had difficulty initially setting up the web-cam, perhaps as we're not all that computer literate. But finally we succeeded and it is now working fine.

The Webcam is very good particularly it can be used with Notebook and PC (flat monitor or conventional) due to its base design. The quality is good but I only wonder my purchase because its quality is same as NX-6000 (I also have this) which is available for $25-29. I think if you want to use your Webcam only on notebook first consider NX-6000 before buying VX-7000.

The webcam is wonderful. I had to do some searching around to find how to operate it but once I decided which way was best it took about 15 minutes to be able to talk to my daughter across the United States. Yeah, a definate must to have.Tech is great.

Having used several other webcams, I'd rate this one very positively. The flexibility in lighting is great and the built in mic is pretty good. Connection would be easier with at least two more feet of cord; it's difficult to string it (or any other webcam I've seen) optimally on a full-sized computer desk.The next step up would be wireless connectivity and signal compaction - but manufacturers don't seem to have figured that out yet.

Clear picture and sound quality not always available. Could have to do with time of day as it appears to work better in late evening.
