My Klipsch Pro Media 5.1 ultras finally failed, I picked up both the logitach Z906 and the Corsair SP2500 2.1, I took the Corsair back, and I configured my new Z906 using a Creative recond 3d atality. the Z906 are a good replacment for my beloved klipsch system, if Klipsch made the 5.1 I would go back, but this system is an a amazing system for gaming. Highly Recommend.

i just recieved these speakers i'm a little disappointed because i feel you have to turn the volume control half way to start getting some punch and power also wish there was a bass contol, i'm going to upgrade to 16ga copper speaker wire and try hooking up with Digital Optical Audio Toslink Cable, i have a samsung flat screen tv with a samsung bluray player, if anyone has any helpful hints to better hook up please let me know, all and all i'm happy with them

These speakers are awesome. The bass rocks my entire building if I want it to(it is very adjustable). The sound quality is amazing. The speaker set looks really cool in the living room. If I try to turn the volume all the way up while playing music, I can't even adjust it to the top without covering my ears because it can get so loud, without loss of quality.The surround sound for movies/games is great and makes playing call of duty on my ps3 really immersive. Playing blu-rays and dvd's are also awesome with surround sound.Some minor complaints: Doesn't have hdmi port like newer home theater systems, so you will have to buy a digital optical cable pretty cheap) for 5.1 surround sound with games/movies if you are not using a computer(it comes with a 6 channel computer cable). If you have a laptop, you have to get an external sound card (20 bucks for a cheap one, 55ish for a high quality one)that allows you to plug in the computer cables (unless your laptop has them, which is rare).I am very happy with these speakers, they are some of the best speakers i've ever heard and are worth it, however, it would be nice if they had an hmdi port for my laptop so i don't have to buy a sound card separately for it.

Just bought those speakers along with a X-Fi Titanium HD.I used to have X540 and onboard audio. The difference is unbelievable, two different worlds.Everything is much clearer, crispier ! It's very powerful, I rarely go above 60% of the max volume ! The walls start shaking above that limit anyways !I personally love the 2 optical connections, as I was able to use one to plus it to my computer and the other one on my PS3.Be careful though, you'll need one of these cables if you want to plug the PS3. Monster THXI100-FO8NF THX Certified Toslink Fiber Optic Audio Cable (8 feet)If you only want to connect it to your computer, you'll be fine with the included cables.

I've had this sound system for some time now and i have had no problems with it so far it gives out great sound and average Base. Its a great system for playing games to listening to music. Its a pretty great system for the price as well. Well i recommend other people give the Logitech Surround Sound Z906 a try. I know i have enjoyed it..

I purchased this product to replace the Logitech Z5500, which had served well. Unfortunately, the Z906 had a number of flaws that makes this a "no-buy" review.1. The quality of sound coming from the (500w!) system was markedly lower than the Z5500 -- particularly from the subwoofer, which is about 30% smaller than with the older system. While apparently good enough to be "THX-certified," nevertheless when connected to a PC with the same (new) soundcard, the bass was less powerful and tinny,and the front channel speakers, even after adjustment, had a thin sound quality.2. More importantly, the control unit was a dud. After about 1-2 minutes of playing, the unit would turn itself off and no audio would play. The unit had to be manually turned off and on (accompanied by a loud crackle) to restore the sound, which would then go off again 1-2 minutes later. When calling Logitech support, they advised me to reset the unit (by powering the control unit down, and then pressing the input button for 8 seconds). This restored the sound for a slightly longer time (4 minutes) and then the unit again shut itself off. When I called Logitech Support again, they admitted this new product must have some manufacturing defect and they could not troubleshoot. They advised me to return the product to the retailer, which I have done through Amazon's easy return system.When I checked the Logitech forums, I realized that several others (in the US, in Germany) reported the same problem with the Z906. For Logitech's flagship audio product, this unit was a disappointing downgrade from the solidity, ease-of-use, and better sound quality of the Z5500. If anyone has a recommendation for a replacement system (particularly a non-Logitech system) for use at a PC, let me know.

This system is great! Doesn't fall short in the bass that's for sure this system packs a PUNCH! Actually if you were to compare this system to the Z5500 i'd say its better. It has much clearer sounding satellites, same pounding bass just like the z5500 despite the 2 inch difference. 5 stars if your debating whether or not to buy this system BUY IT! for 340 bucks its a steal.

I'm using this setup with my MacBook or my boyfriend's MacBook Pro and a CreativeLabs SoundBlaster wireless transmitter, mostly for watching movies, but sometimes for listening to music. What a HUGE improvement over the little Altec Lansing computer speakers I had been using!As other reviewers have noted, I'm not entirely sure what the intended use for these speakers is -- seems like overkill for a standard PC situation, but not enough for a true home theater system. It may be that the intended audience is someone like me -- enjoys good sound, not about to shell out $1,000+ for speakers. I think if you fall into that category, this is probably a great option.I wish there were more adjustments that could be made, and that not everything plugged directly into the subwoofer (seriously annoying), but it's attractive, sounds very good (even turned up loud), and seems like a good price for what you're getting. Using it wirelessly with the laptop is also pretty freaking awesome.Overall, recommended.

I was a little worried with spending $325 on a sound system...It turned out to be worth the price I love the sound and am glad I made the investment. This are very good speakers and I love watching movies with them because it sounds like you have your own personal theater. Thank you logitech!!

This small speaker system packs a real punch. I was surprised at how great it sounds and so crisp. The Bass provided by the Sub is outstanding. I have it hooked up to my new Visio 47" LCD LED flat screen TV and it is wonderful. The sound is extremely clean and clear. The Bass is strong. The remote works perfectly. The only thing I wish it had that ir does not is a HDMI inlet to run from the television to the control box. I am using a Digital Optical cable from the TV to the control box on the speaker system. Before I bought the digital optical cable I was using the standard stereo in/out two wire set that enabled me to shut down the TV speakers and still use the TV volume control for this speaker system. Once I connected the Optical wire, I lost that ability. But that is probably an issue with the TV and not the speaker system. Plays CD really well and I really like the individual adjustments it has for Bass, Front and Rear speakers and once set to your liking, it switches over to the main volume control. Sounds every bit as good as my other much more expensive system.

I've owned many speaker systems for my computers over the years, including the best computer speakers offered by Bose and these Logitech Z906 speakers are the very best. I've read the other reviews and can't speak to other uses folks have tried but for computer use, all I can say is, buy these speakers! You won't be sorry! They'll blow you away!

The z906 system is one of the better speaker sets on the market for that price. The sound is superb instillation was super simple and the fact that the speakers use reg speaker wire makes it ideal for odd shaped rooms. I saw a ton of reviews saying it wasn't as nice as the z5500 I never had that set of speakers so I don't know, but the bass on this is great, better than my 10 inch car sub for sure. The bass is ajustiable so if u like more or less it's not a problem. The lights on the console are not as distracting as some ppl say they are I didn't mind them at all. The remote is small but sturdy, it has a nice weight to it so it doesn't seem like a toy. I didn't give it a 5 because my buddy set up his own sound system (costing a little over 5k) and it's not quite as nice as his but defiantly the best for the money!!!

This is an amazing sound system! Very easy to set up, I did it in 20 minutes. The only CON was that I had to order an optical adapter to connect it to the flat screen TV. All that was included in the box was what looked like a stereo connector with yellow/white plugs. I got the optical adapter on amazon for about 3.50(including shipping!) which lessened the blow. I just didn't like waiting to test it out!I love that the satellite speakers don't have to plug into an outlet, and the length of the cords work fine for me. We do have a smaller living room though(about 12x11), so if you have a larger room you'll need more cord. The sound is fantastic, it feels and sounds like being in a movie theater! The remote control is simple but effective. The only thing I noticed was missing was being able to adjust sound(treble,bass etc) levels or the speakers individually. This is clearly a simple system, but for me it was about the sound. The sound quality is there, so this is all I'll ever need!!

I don't like to leave negative reviews, but when I spend this much money on a PC sound system I expect quality. I saw the MANY negative reviews about the system locking up and decided to try my luck anyways. I wish I would have listened to that little voice in my head and stayed away. Sure enough after I got the system all unpacked and set up, it started failing hours into use. iTunes songs would lock up a few minutes in, sound would cut out on my PC games. I tried the factory reset button and it didn't work very often. I had to physically unplug the unit to reset it and then cross my fingers on how long it would last. I think the longest I got play out of it before a lockup was 40 minutes. Do yourself a favor and avoid this clunker!I decided to "downgrade" to a 2.1 system and purchased the Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 High-Power 2.1 PC Speaker System (CA-SP211NA) also available on Amazon and I have not been disappointed yet. The sound is great for my needs, I'm not an audiophile but the sound is very clear and LOUD! The bass has a nice thump to it as well. The system is sturdy and was easy to set up.

I bought these speakers to replace the Kiplisch pro-media 5.1. Been looking at speakers for over a year and therse was the best ones out there on the market. I have to admit the Kiplisch doubles the wattage of these speakers but for the money these are the best out there. Just wished that there more companies makiing 5.1 or 7.1 speakers without having to go buy a blu-ray player to go along side of the bigger wattage home theater systems.

I was looking at buying a receiver and a set of speakers that would have cost about 5x as much. I am so happy that I did not spend that kind of money on the same thing I got in the end by buying this Logitech product. Blu-rays sound excellent, PS3 and games sound great, HDTV sounds even better, and even the Ipod sounds good. Buy it. You will be impressed.

This is a great surround sound system! The sound was clear and evenly balanced and I never knew how many details I wasn't hearing before this system. I could hear the fire crackle, the foot steps on the ground, the people talking in the background, etc. It also kept everything in balance and gave a nice even sound without the bass overwhelming everything or the background noise distracting. It is easy to setup if you know what you are doing. I did not. So I take off one star for the instructions because I found them to be lacking for a complete novice and thought they could have provided more in-depth instructions on what cable was to go where when hooking up to the tv and dvd player, and it wouldn't have hurt at all to have some kind of diagram. Other than that I love this system!

I'm no expert on quality speakers or anything. I just wanted something nice and loud with surround sound. I use this set primarily for PC gaming and music. The sound is great to my ears. The bass really thumps and the music sounds fine. My only complaint has been the volume of the rear speakers. Even after adjusting them up they seem pretty quiet. I'm not sure why this is since as far as I can tell they are identical to the front ones. After configuring the set as 5.1 in Windows 7 the surround sound works perfectly in Deus Ex:Human Revolution and Counter Strike: Source. All in all I'm satisfied with the product, and the abundance of inputs means I'll have no trouble hooking them up to my PS3 or other devices.

One of the best kept secrets in the home audio theater market is Logitech's high-end speaker line. Traditionally considered a high-end PC speaker system, the immense power and audio detail that these speakers deliver are a match for many high end, purpose built, home theater solutions.For the past 3 years, I had been using the Z-5500, but when I heard that it was replaced by a new model, I had to give it a try. What I liked most about the Z906 from a specification perspective was its ability to accept many more optical and coaxial inputs. Also, the more home theater 'component' looking control box better suited my family room entertainment system.From an audio performance perspective, the Z906 is easily as good, if not better, than the outgoing Z-5500. At 505 watts continuous, 1,000 watts peak, this system absolutely thunders through my home. The speakers are specifically tuned to work with each other and the subwoofer, so the sound is rich, clean and full.If you are in the market for a high quality, integrated home theater speaker system, look no further. This system is excellent all around. The sound quality is superior to many other more expensive systems I have owned, the bass is rich and deep, and the overall power is unbelievable. If turned all the way up, you can hear it down the block. I have my cable box, PS3, and iPod all hooked up simultaneously. Buy this system.

nice sound and the toslink its great sound i love the sound quality, price is not important. I connect my blueray by hdmi to my LCD Tv and conect by toslink to the speaker, now I put a fiber optic from my computer in the restroom to the living room

Z906 WOW ! I had a set of Logitech Z506 for a long while which my daughter is using now, the difference between these and new is Night & Day! These are excellent quality speakers for music and gaming. Crystal Clear and pounding bass if you want it! I did have a Polk Woofer with old speakers but not needed with Z906 so that also went to my daughter. I have had all Logitech speakers since the 90s, I believe this is set 3 now and nothing was wrong with last set just wanted to update them after updating my PC. Amazon is 1 of the 2 places I will/would buy PC parts and accessories online.

I bought a set of G51 speakers Nov '09 for my new computer for music/movies etc & the control pod quit working this wkend, so emailed Logitech cust support & they're covered under warranty & being discontinued they offered to send me the new Z906 as a replacement. WOW! Considering I paid a little over $100 for the G51 & this is their top end setup, blew me away. Have had nothing but good experiences with Logitech & cust support. Recently sent back a Wave combo as the mouse didn't work right & they sent me a new setup right away. Awesome!! Since I didn't have the highly touted 5500's can't say if the Z906 is better, worse or about the same. All I know is it sounds just fine, almost as good as my home theater setup which isn't "high end" (Mordaunt-Short Carnival's) and I'm totally satisfied with how Logitech handles their customers. Base is a bit boomy but maybe it'll tame down after some finigalling. I like em nonetheless!! Good thing about a Realtek sound card is you can manipulate the eq, so have done what i can with the base & treble & sounds fine. Setup is a breeze.

I just helped a Bud install these for his new home theater system. For $400 they ROCK! I only gave the sound quality 4/5 because it IS a small system after all. No, they are not going compare with a set of full range passive speakers driven by a top notch a/v receiver. But they are good, there is plenty of low end and oodles of power. I can't imagine anything better for anywhere near the price. My friend is driving them from the toslink out of a new i5 CPU rocking W7 64 bit. Just really excellent!

I'm no expert with sound systems, I just wanted to get something that would be close to the sound I got on my Altec Lansing 885 system which finally died. After reading the reviews, good and bad, I bit the bullet and bought a set of these speakers. Listening to my considerable mp3 collection, they have a deep, powerful, rich sound around the room, however despite the instructions saying I should be able to adjust the volume of the rear speakers separately, (from the control panel) I could not. So, after 2 emails to logitech,who were very responsful, I am returning them. I'll update my review when I receive the replacement set.I would like to know if anyone else has had this particular problem.

the logitech z906 is a great speaker. this speaker is recommended for pc,dvd player,ps3,xbox 360 and others but not recommended for those people who want an cinema quality speaker because the logitech z906 is suitable for things like i mention above. i tried this speaker on my ps3 and the dolby digital and dts sounds fantastic

This has to be one of the best deals I've run across by far,You could definately say -big sound ,out of a small box. I replaced my old Yamaha surround system with this Logitech sound system and was not the least bit disapointed, and at a fraction of the cost.Over all ,I'm very happy wih this purchase.

Logitech Surround Sound Speaker System Z906 (980-000467)I chose to wait 2 weeks to do my review to really test out the system. So far so good for me personally. The sound is good could be a little better but I can live with it, you do get the SURROUND SOUND FEEL.

The speakers sound great and are very loud crisp and clear, the sub however is WEAKKK SAUCE and a half, my z2300 sub pounded way harder? so idk these speakers are good for listening to songs and don't want pounding base!

I have this and the older z5500 which I have owned for 2 years and use this about 6 Months. The highs and lows on the Z5500 is a little better, you can tell if you listen very careful. From my option this don't look as nice.Wish I can give this t 4 stars,..but this is a downgrade compare to the Z5500.

Buy this equipment, and not tape-worm the remote control, contact amazon and they placed a reimbursement of 50 dollars and contact to logitech and they say that they cannot solve the problem in my opinion logitech he is the person in charge is a fault of the manufacturer and not of the seller

this thing is fantastic. I love the look of the speakers. the weight on them let's you know, "hey, these things are quality." and the sub is just amazing. my neighbors are definitely not fans of my new speakers, lol. i have my i-pod, ps3, and computer hooked up to it, and during games you defenitely feel immersed in the thx 5.1. great speaker system.

One of the better surround sound speakers I have heard in a long time. It is almost the same as the Z5500 but it has a better bass and slightly clearer satellites. The design is beautiful and the speakers have a nice build quality.

Hello There i just got my first Logitech speakers system and if is there anyone new to Logitech speakers system the brand new Z-906 isn't that bad at all, I didn't have the Z-5500 before I don't know whats the difference but it sure sounds well, you just need to plug the right way I hope it helps !!!

Purchased and noticed something was wrong as soon as I got it. One of the satellite speakers vibrates/ rattles.Contacted Logitech to find out that I have to wait a full month before one speaker will come in stock.

I just got the Logitech x-120 Compact Powered Speakers for only $9.96 with free shipping it was worth every dollar. The sounds is really great quality for loud or low music or other sounds.

They're okay in the world of super cheap speakers. The slight hum they have even when turned all the way down is quite annoying. Bass is surprisingly decent for not having a sub (granted a sub would be leaps and bounds better still).

Excellent sound for the price, good and solid build. However be advised if you connect your headphones through them it will sound a lot worse. So if you want to switch between these and headphones I recommend getting a Y-splitter to pipe sound to both and turn off the speakers when you don't need them.

When there is sound for these speakers to play, its fine and sounds quite nice. However, regardless of the volume setting, there is a residual hum which only stops when you turn off the power. It is very noticable and very very annoying.Unless you are in an environment where there is a lot of background noise, you will be driven you to return them. Even though these are approx $10 in price, it is still not worth it.Don't buy them, you will be wasting your money.

These speakers have a hum that is quite audible and unpleasant, even when the volume is at zero. Another reviewer also had this problem. Either it is a manufacturing defect, or poor design, but a $25 speaker shouldn't suffer from this problem. For this reason, I recommend not purchasing this speaker.

For $20 the sound from these can't be expected to be room-filling but if you want an attractive and compact 2-piece set for casual music listening and computer "event sounds" you could do worse. Even at high volume there is little distortion.These are unusual in that they don't use a separate power cube; the 120V power cord goes right into one of them, and a fat wire connecting them probably carries both power and signal to the other. None of these cables are detachable. Separate bass and treble controls would have been nice, but the trick here is to make use of the equalizer function built into most modern PC music player programs to boost the higher frequencies. However, bass can become muddy if you try to boost the lower end more than just a little. Good placement and orientation also is critical. In my case I have added a separate subwoofer; with all of the preceding elements I'm hearing sweet music indeed.

I bought these speakers because my old ones would interfere with my cell phone. These speakers do not.
