Speakers generally require size to sound impressive, so it is difficult for a manufacturer to build a notebook speaker system that excels in all categories: detail, soundstage, clear highs, stirring lows and wide stereo separation. Therefore, I approached these speakers with somewhat low expectations. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the speakers' ability to reproduce clear midrange and highs and to provide good detail in complex musical passages. I was underwhelmed, though, by the speakers' ability to reproduce mid to low bass with authority and no distortion. Unfortunately, the speakers were unable to deal with certain types of music, such as electronic music with somewhat exaggerated bass riffs, without getting muddy and distorting easily. Moreover, even though there is a clever extension or pull out option that allows for better stereo separation, the speakers sounded somewhat closed in and almost monoral. On the whole, these notebook speakers are adequate for notebook applications, but don't expect them to dazzle you with spectacular sound.

Ever since I got my ibook 18 months ago, I've had no complaints...except for the speakers. Listening to anything was okay at best, and sometimes you really want to hear the fine details of music.I considered to be one downside of a great laptop. I thought about getting external speakers, but the bulk and wires meant I'd be tethered to a desk.The Logitech has been a graceful compromise: it's sleek, attractive, easy to move around, and the sound is amazing fcoming rom such a small device. The music on my ibook suddenly has a million more dimensions, and i don't mean just volume. It's given my ibook an entirely new lease on life!It's easy to put together, a big plus for a non-techie like me. The price is emminently reasonable, and IMHO, definitely worth it. Highly recommend!

First off, the speakers are quite good for their size. I can't complain about the sound. The bass was pretty impressive.I enjoy that the speakers come with a built in 4-port USB hub.The fact that the speakers are attached as one unit has its plusses and minuses. There's no way this thing will fit in my laptop bag, but I don't get a tangle of cables. It's also a little big to be really portable.The biggest minuses in my book is that the speakers don't extend far enough and they require external power. I realize powering the thing from USB would be a drain, but taking up a socket with powered speakers isn't great. I have a widescreen laptop with a 17" screen, and the speakers don't fully clear the width of the laptop - they are about 2" shy.I think this would be a great solution from someone who had a smaller laptob but did a lot of gaming or watched a lot of media from their desk. Just plug in and go. I can't see too many people lugging these things around.

I have Logitech X-140 speakers for my desktop and found that these speakers actually sound a little better. The "AudioHub", as Logitech is calling it, is just the right size for carrying a concise, solid sound system with your notebook/laptop. The left/right speakers adjust to fit any size laptop with a long power cord and integrated USB cable for your laptop. There are extra USB ports behind the speaker for convenience and an attachment for a webcam. It's all very compact, but I thought the sound was better than most systems this size. Although the sub-woofer is only 3" in diameter, there is an open port to allow air mass fluctuation for maximum bass. The two 2" tweeters are crisp and clear. The volume control is conveniently located to the side and adjusts `all' sound. Note that this is not a high powered sound machine (15 watts), but it is about perfect for a transient computer system. Once again, Logitech has designed a system that is appropriate for personal laptop use and the price is very reasonable.

Logitech has always made solid products and the AudioHub is no exception. It is well built and well designed - the 3-port USB hub is great addition as it puts them at your reach, but out of the way regardless of whether you use this with a laptop as intended or under your LCD monitor. The webcam stand is also a nice addition (not usable if these speakers are placed under an LCD monitor).But it is the sound that you want to know about, isn't it? Like all of the higher-end Logitech speaker systems, the AudioHub delivers good quality sound with sharp highs and good mid-range. Where it falls a little short, but to no surprise, is on the lows; there is only so much bass you can get out of small speakers.All and all, this is a good sounding speaker system with nice design and construction. if you are looking for this level of speakers with good design and extras, the AudioHub will be a good choice. If you are looking for superior sound quality, then this unit will fall a little short of your expectations.

This speaker system for notebooks was really easy to set up. You plug it into an electrical outlet, you plug the USB port into your notebook, you turn the power switch on the speaker system and you are ready to go - the software was automatically recognized by my IBM ThinkPad X60 with Windows XP. I had this up and running within 5 minutes of opening the box. It doesn't get any easier then that! The speakers themselves are pretty good quality. I blasted music and the volume got very loud (when used in connection with PCs volume setting) with little to no distortion. This speaker system is not portable but it takes up little space on my desk. When I use my laptop elsewhere, I missed the speakers and the existing system seemed sooo weak by comparision. I've gotten cheaper speakers with the same quality (Creative Labs) but they were not as simple to install.Measurements: 17" long x 3" height x 5+" wide

I'm not much of an audiophile, but obviously there's a HUGE difference between my laptop's tinny speakers and Logitech's AudioHub Notebook speakers. It's like night and day.The speakers themselves are incredibly easy to set up. Plug them into an outlet, then plug the USB cord into the laptop. It was that simple. The volume knob is readily accessible, and I really appreciate the fact that it lights up nice and bright so I can see that it's on.I leave these speakers permanently on the computer desk in our family room, although it's not a big deal to move it around. [...]Absolutely no negatives. Great sound, great price, great set-up. The only way the speakers could be better would be if there was some way to attach them to the laptop and run them off the computer's power source.

This has great sound. If you have itunes loaded on your computer you would have a great time at your desk. It works like a docking station and fits easily up to your 17.5 in. computer. I love it!

I bought this on faith with no user reviews and just a few tech site reviews, but I am very pleased with the product for the price. I got it from TechDepot/Office Depot via Amazon and received it quickly, in 3 days. As I had read, the bass is not thumping but much stronger than my PowerBook G4 internals. Go to System Preferences->Sound to select the device after connecting it. It is nice to switch between the internal and Audio Hub (in System Preferences) to hear the big difference while playing some music. It has a very good full bodied sound. It is also very good on a desk with limited space, as it tucks nicely behind the laptop as you see in the promo pictures. For those of you who have been listening to built-in laptop speakers, it is especially great to get the stereo separation with this product. I hope more people will post reviews because I am very happy with this purchase and would like to "share the joy".

Love these speakers! I tend to listen to audiobooks while working on other things, and these speakers have made it a lot easier to move around and still hear well. They can be a little bulky if you tend to move your laptop from room to room, but they are easy to install and use. The volume adjustment is easy and there are extra USB ports for the user, but one thing I miss is the port for external devices ie: ipod or earphones.But I am throroughly enjoying my new toy and recommend it highly!

The sound quality on these small speakers are amazing. These are very easy to hook up to your notebook, looks stylish and most important of all delievers excellent sound quality.I was always frustrated with the sound provided by my laptop but these speakers fixed the problem. I am not going to get into the technical know-hows of digital sound and all because honestly, I wouldn't know where to begin.Rest assured that this is a sound purchase and will improve the sound quality for your notebooks. Now, my only qualm is finding something that will give my notebook a bigger screen. One can only hope.

I have the cheapest Dell laptop available and although it works really well, the volume through the speakers is fairly low. If I'm watching a movie, or something that requires good audio, this becomes a problem -- or used to, until I got the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers. They are a little on the heavy side, but they're very easy to install and use (practically plug and play) and the audio quality is amazing, especially considering the price.

I'm going to keep this one short and easy, like the product.Likes: good sound, easy to install and use.Dislikes: not particularly portable.I'll explain my dislike for this product as slightly schizophrenic and illogical: I mean, this is obviously not meant to be portable, but that's me I guess.Not the highest recommendations although it's great if your main computer is a laptop which doesn't do much moving around. Four stars!

I was a little apprehensive about buying such small notebook speakers. Usually these types of speakers sound horrible. But with a Amazon price of $50, I figured I'd give it a shot.Now I am very happy. The sounds is great and the design is simply outstanding. The subwoofer sounds decent. You can't expect much from a 3" sub. And the speakers sound great for the size and price. They do lack the crisp highs because they are tweeter-less. Even so, this is definately the best sounding notebook speaker set I've hear yet.

These Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers have great sound. I own GATEWAY MX6453 - Notebook Computer and The sound on the laptop is good but it could be better. My motherboard was replaced and now the original speakers have no sound. When I received these, my sound was back and better than ever. The Speakers have great sound. I could swear I was listening to my computer though my stereo receiver. Great Item.

I just these speakers after looking at them for a couple of weeks. I have always done well with Logitech and this was no exception. These are great speakers and loud, the bass is good for the size and it handeled a reage of sounds with ease. Punk, rock, metal and rap all sounded good. Movies were amazing compared to the built in speakers I had been listening too. Anyway this was a great investment.I am using them on a:HP Pavilion DV6000 15.4" widescreenWindows Vista Home PremiumI will recommened these to all of my friends, one of which already got them after listening to mine. Great product from Logitech.

Very easy setup and a unique way for the unit to acquire sound without a separate audio connection. But the selling point of high quality was not nearly met as sufficient bass is lacking. The unit also had a serious lack of available volume. In my opinion, a set of relatively inexpensive powered external speakers would do better in both quality and volume. The nice style and integrated USB hub fail to compensate for these inadequacies.
