I've wanted to get speakers for my laptop for quite some time but didn't want to spend a lot of money. Deal Barn had a great price for them so I thought I'd try them out.I'm impressed by the sound quality and bass for something this size. The set up was very simple: plug the speakers to your power source, plug in the USB and it's ready to use.They definitely are not portable speakers. They take up about 4" of space behind the laptop. The specs say these speakers can work for laptops up to 17" but I had 1.25" leftover with the speakers are fully extended and I have a 14.1" widescreen. If you don't want to cover the speakers with your laptop, your laptop can be no more than 14.5" wide. The speakers are designed be level with your laptop so if you have a cooling pad like I do, you'll need to play around a bit to get everything to fit right.

This is an incredible speaker system for the price. It sits behind the notebook and really needs to be used as a stationary speaker system. I would not recommend you buy this if your need is portability as this speaker is a one piece system and a little clunky to carry around from room to room.Other than this, it is an exceptional sound system, especially for the price. The sound quality and volume capability is very good and does not crackle when the volume is turned up. However, there is no bass or treble options with the volume control.Overall, I am very pleased with this speaker system. Also, it was delivered as promised and actually arrived sooner than was stated.

The opening beneath the main speaker is too narrow for my laptop electric cord and the internet wire to pass through. But it is made of solid materials and I paid below $30, which was a steal. Overall I am glad I own them.

I have three computers in my house, an ancient Windows ME machine, an XP desktop, and a notebook/laptop. I occasionally take my laptop on the road, but mainly use it while sitting on the couch at home watching tv. When not in use I close it and store it on the lower shelf of my coffee table. In my opinion, this type of use does not lend itself to this Logitech speaker system. If I carried my laptop to and from work everyday, and while at home used it at a desk, this speaker system would be ideal. So for this review, please understand that my particular situation was to use this speaker system with a desktop computer.In use I found these speakers to be remarkable! The sound is very clear, there is a surprising amount of low end (bass), and they do not distort even when turned all the way up. By the way, considering these are computer speakers, turning these all the way up produces very loud, very good quality sound.The addition of a usb hub is sheer brilliance! Because these speakers connect to my computer via a usb port, and my older computer has limited ports which are hard to reach, I now have the ability to connect the speaker system and then connect up to 3 other devices in a convenient, easy-to-reach place.Overall, the footprint of these speakers is small compared to the sound they produce. I am thrilled to have them, and would recommend them to anyone. No matter if you need good speakers for your notebook, your desktop, etc., these are outstanding performers!

One thing that always puts me on edge about new electronics is the set-up process. I'm not completely technically inept, and I can follow written instructions, but that doesn't mean I look forward to any of it. With the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers, my fears were easily cast away. This product - well packaged, with nary an inch of wasted space - could literally not be any easier to use. Plug the AudioHub into a power outlet using the AC adapter, then plug the AudioHub into the laptop using the USB cable. Within seconds my laptop detected and accepted the speakers. There is a big volume knob on the righthand side of the Hub, which glows orange when the speakers on On. Voila. Next thing, I was cranking up some Led Zeppelin - reveling in the ability to actually listen to music on my laptop without thin, tinny audio that I had tried to get used to (but never could).The clarity of the audio is startlingly good. The bass end is resonant. If I had to make a criticism, it would be a relatively minor one: the volume doesn't quite go as loud as I wish it would. I'm not looking to damage my eardrums or anything like that, I just find that in a larger room, I want to boost the volume above the maximum level. But then again, no one said these speakers were designed for filling up a huge space. For sitting in front of the computer and watching a DVD or listening to music, I really am satisfied.

We love the strength and output quality of these speakers. Our only beef is when getting some feedback (via webcam calls with grandparents) the unit automatically switches back to laptop speakers. Otherwise, a great choice!

Bought this as part of my son's Christmas gift. Arrived when promised in perfect condition. Great size, great price, great sound. Fits perfectly behind his new laptop and it's nice to have the USB connections. He's really going to enjoy having it at college in the fall.

The AudioHub is the first USB-based speaker that I've used. As with many USB items, I figured it would be plug-and-play, ready to go after I plug it in. It wasn't that simple. However, Logitech's quick setup guide made it relatively painless.I was throwing a party at the office and wanted to put on some entertainment for the kids. I grabbed the AudioHub because it was portable, and it gave me the opportunity to test the clarity and volume. The audio for the movie I played came out crisp, but was lacking some bass (what do you expect out of a compact speaker without a subwoofer?) The volume was a bit too low in a open area, forcing me to raise all the volume controls to the max, and even then it was not that loud (However, I was impressed that I didn't hear any static). However, I understand that it this speaker wasn't designed for that purpose; the volume would be more than sufficient sitting behind your laptop.The USB hub makes it convenient to keep my external hard drives and devices plugged in. The unit comes with a webcam clip, so you don't have to remove it every time you pack up your laptop.One thing I would have improved on the unit is the ability to turn the unit off rather than leaving it on or standby.I recommend this product to people that have limited space on their desk, aren't happy with the sound output of their laptop, and have many USB gadgets to plug-in.

There have been a sufficient number of reviews to provide in-depth background information for these speakers. What I can provide is a brief opinion. I found the set-up of these speakers to be simple and straight forward. If you can handle a laptop then you're savvy enough for these. The sound is better than speakers usually provided with a laptop so they are definitely a step up. I hear a slight bias towards the mid-range. The highs are good enough, though slightly reticent for string instruments such as violins. The bass response is a bit weak. Good enough for Classical and Jazz, but probably a bit light for Rock. I assume that this is due to the speaker's relatively anemic 15 Watts total RMS power rating, a little weak for my taste and something that could be improved if greater bottom is to be provided. The speakers lack the punch of my Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers, now 6 years old but rated 80 Watts RMS total. The difference is audible in their sound as well as volume. The Logitech AudioHub speakers are easy on the eyes, with a nice design. All in all, if power is not a major criterion for what you desire in laptop speakers, then these are a good choice. But an increase in power would make them just that much better. If bass response and a strong feeling of live presence is what you desire in your music, then I would choose a different set of speakers.

This little unit has great sound, and the built in USB HUB is a great addition.Plugging in and out is not as smooth as one would hope. I have sometimes had difficulty both getting the unit to work and then restoring normal on-board speaker function, and restarting sometimes is the only solution.But, for $25, there's no beating this guy.

All I can say is WOW about these speakers. Who knew so much power could come out of something so small. I didn't know what to expect at 1st as in the past I haven't been the biggest fan of Logitech's product, but I must say I am impressed!! These speakers will fit nicely behind your notebook, don't know that I would nescasarily reccomend these to people who want something on the go though. It's doable, but these might be just a smidge awkward moving from place to place. This product won't replace your home theatre, but would be perfect for someone away at college, work, or even a home office. The thing I really didn't expect is how great these speakers sound. No annoying hum at either high or low volumes, just clear sound at all times. Super easy installation too, no installation discs, just plug into your USB port, plug in the power cord & you're rockin'. When comparing price, you really can't go wrong either, other speaker sytems on Amazon alone are running for $400+, now granted Logitech is by no means top of the line; but with speakers that sound like this do you really need top of the line? You're gonna get much more sound than you'll probably ever need from a notebook. These speakers will also work with you PC, don't know how pleasing on the eyes they'll be, but they will work never the less. Bottom line is, I would HIGHLY RECOMEND these speakers to anyone needing speakers for their PC, these are definately the way to go!!!

These speakers are so much better than I'd hoped -- great sound, very loud, with none of the hissing I've seen other reviewers mentioned. I still can't believe how inexpensive they were, given the quality. One of the best Amazon purchases ever.

I'm not really a maverick when it comes to diagnosing the fine points of electronic equipment. Other reviewers here have done ample job of delineating all the technical pros and cons of this little set, so I'll just give you the stance of the Average Joe, pretending for the moment that my name is Joe.Set-up is, as they say, a breeze. Talk about foolproof. Just plug the thing in, and you're ready to go. My laptop (an HP Pavilion dv9000) has a 17" screen, so the telescopic speakers only extend 3/4ths of the way on either side, and the webcam stand is about half an inch shy of clearing the top edge. A moderately sized novel set under the speaker base solves the webcam problem, and I don't notice much sound reduction from the partially concealed speakers.The speakers have three USB ports that help clear up some of the cord-clutter both behind the laptop and on the various side ports. The giant orange button, while conveniently tactile, is a little garish for a set with such a sleek design.The sound is great for its size, although the set's weight and structure don't lend much to mobility. I almost never transport my laptop anywhere (much less to my lap), so this doesn't pose a nuisance to me, although people in the market for something on the go should look elsewhere.Good sound, good quality, good design. Not great, but certainly good.

This was a lot more than I was expecting, in every aspect. There was hardly any setup, no discs, one simple on/off volume button, and a usb connection.A nice sleek black finish on a unit that adapts to the size of your laptop. You simply set the unit in the desired location, and place your notebook in front of it. No added weight. Connect on usb, and you instantly have a multi-usb port with no mess of wires. Hookup your ipod, external drive, whatever. All go into the speaker unit with no problem.The most important part of course is the sound. And this is where it went from one extreme to the other. For testing, I went to YouTube and played a few videos. I was satified with the sound and the ease of adjusting sound without having to deal with equalizer settings etc. But, when I started iTunes, it was a completely different experience. The sound of digital audio is AMAZING. Maybe not Bose, but certainly a great facsimile. The sound fills the whole apartment without being loud. I am extremely impressed.The only drawback for some might be for those thinking the speakers attach. They stay on your desktop, and do not follow to a new location easily. Especially with the usb wires etc. But, for what it is, it's a no brainer.There is also an attachment for a web cam, if you choose to connect it. But you don't need to use it. I don't need it. But it was a nice addition.

These speakers were very easy to set up and sound very good. I have tried some other solutions for the laptop like the wireless Saitek A-200 Portable 2.1 Speaker System but the sound was not as good as these speakers. These speakers perform well at low and high volume and have good bass and treble for laptop speakers. The retro styled lighted volume knob on the side is a cool feature, especially if you are just listening to a CD or watching a movie.However, despite being nice speakers they are not getting too much use as they're pretty bulky. If you use your laptop like I do - on the couch with your feet up on the coffee table - they are too big and cumbersome to have on your lap. Also, they have a couple of wires - one to the USB and the other to the electrical outlet which makes them "desktop" notebook speakers rather than "lap"top speakers. I watch a ton of movies on my laptop while crashed out on the couch and if this speaker system was lighter and more compact I would have loved to be able to use them when I watch videos/movies on my system.In my opinion, these speakers are ideal for college students dorms or for anyone who uses the laptop at a desk. For them these speakers are ideal as they offer great sound for the price, are compact and semi-portable.

When I first set up the speakers I was disappointed. The keyboard drawer I keep my laptop on had exactly 3 inches of space and the speakers were just over 3 inches. Moving past that I used the included USB extension cord to wire the speakers around my desk. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find out complete installation was simply plugging the USB cable into my laptop and allowing Windows to install the driver in about a minute or two.I tested them and found them to have strong treble and powerful bass response. I was excited when I found that you could turn off the speakers without disabling the USB hub. However, I found that turning off the speakers muted my computer and vice versa. Plugging in headphones is useless unless you unplug the speakers, disabling the USB hub. This, even now, frustrates me to no end.I also have a Logitech VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks installed on my notebook. I have it configured to control the volume on my laptop. However, it uses a different scale than my native notebook volume control. I was pleasantly surprised though, to find how well my mouse's volume scale controlled the AudioHub. Although if the speakers are used themselves to control the volume directly it uses my notebook's native volume scale, I find the mouse's works much better - just a little tip for anyone out there buying these speakers with a Logitech mouse which can be configured in a similar way to mine.

This speaker system is designed for use with a notebook computer. It is very easy to hook up with a USB port. The speaker width slides to fit your notebook's width. There are two USB ports in the front that you can then use for your MP3 player or anything else you need.The sound quality is excellent. This is so much better than the speakers I owned before. There is a large range of volume control which is better than my old system which didn't have much difference between too-low and too-high.There is an optional arm that holds a webcam, which extends upward and would be placed just above your computer screen, you can attach if you want it, or you can just leave it off.The directions were very easy to understand giving short written directions (one sentence per step) and good illustrations for each step.I can't figure out what else to say other than it was ridiculously simple to set up and the sound quality is fantastic, much more like a stereo sound system than the older `computer speakers'.I am actually using my speakers right now as speakers for a regular desktop PC. It can sit on the desktop. Since my monitor is huge I actually have the speakers up on top of the big, flat topped monitor.I am very happy with this speaker system.

While this unit seemed like a great idea the reality was an entirely different matter. The sound quality was poor to fair and the power supply crapped-out after 2 days. The interface is a USB connector instead of the typical stereo pin jack and I think that's what makes the interface weird, meaning obtuse and clumsy. The unit's attempt to be a USB Hub as well is interesting in addition to having a headphone jack. I returned the unit for a full refund and bought Altec Lansing seperate powered speakers at a local discount drug store for almost half the price with twice the performance.

this is a really good product, logitech at its best. if you want some powerful speakers that don't take a lot of space definitely buy these. very good and clear sound, awesome bass considering the size. oh and there's also an integrated hub just to top it off.

Exactly as advertised. Sound quality is good for the price. I love that it has 3 usb ports for externals. I had looked at spending $100 for a notebook dock station, but I don't need that anymore. The unit is relatively compact with a small footprint.

-PlusesPERFECT for a dormby plugging just one easy USB cord into my laptop I get, an external mouse, a connection to my smartphone, my printer, and dont forget audio.This makes it a great makeshift cheap "docking" solutionNegatives-Compared to comparably priced regular speaker system the sound depth is lacking.BUTHow you judge things in general is about comparison though. Compared to your laptop speakers the speakers are terrific, so you get "used" to the sound so to speak.

The knob on the side that supposedly controls the volume still does not seem to work, (so I have to give it 4.5 stars) however, this tiny sound system way outperforms my expectations. Each time I listen to my personal CDs or to samples on AMAZON.COM, I continue to be blown away by the fullness of the sound that comes out of this small system! Friends are also always amazed at the full, almost "audiophile" like quality of the music from the system. I am totally satisfied with my purchase!!! Totally!!

I have started using my laptop for my main computer, and thought that I would give these speakers a try, since I am tired of having to drag external speakers with me and set them up every time. The great thing about the Logitech Audiohub, is that these speakers attach to your notebook, so they're somewhat portable and more importantly, they stay out of the way. They are however fairly heavy so you will likely find they don't easily fit in a laptop bag.As to the sound, it is incredibly rich and a huge improvement over the built in speakers of most notebooks. The sound is very rich with fairly deep bass from the 3-inch sub woofer, and clear treble from the two 2-inch tweeters on the side. It also contains an area for attaching a web cam to the top.My only problem with the speakers was that I actually had too much cable since it wasn't an exact fit, and was left with extra cable that was a bit in the way. I wouldn't exactly recommend these speakers if you travel with your notebook a lot, but if you watch movies and listen to music on it, and your notebook spends a decent amount of time in one location at your house, they are a great buy.

I am very satisfied with these speakers. The setup took only a couple of minutes. All I needed to do was connect the USB cable to my computer and then plug the power cord into the wall.I also like the fact that the speakers can pull out to extend to the size of your notebook. My notebook computer has a 17" screen, so they were about 1/4" shy of full reaching onto the sides of my screen, but that did not affect the sound quality at all since the actual speaker had no blockage. These speakers would work especially well for a notebook computer that has a 15" screen.Upon turning these speakers on via the side dial, I started up an MP3 and was very impressed with the full, rich sound these speakers produced. I cranked the volume up and the sound quality remained clear thanks to the bass port.These speakers are well worth it if you enjoy listening to music on your notebook computer. This one piece design is not only easy to hook up, but it looks neat and sounds great too.However, I feel that Logitech could have easily integrated an MP3 port so this would double as an MP3 speaker (not needing a notebook computer).The webcam stand was a nice touch, although I will not be using it since my notebook already has one built-in.

These speakers were an amazing buy. I'm convinced that they deliver the best sound that $35 speakers possible could. I would have expected to have paid closer to $100 for the amount of sound that I get from them. Definatley a great buy for the money. If your looking for portability this is not the product for you, but if you plan on leaving your laptop on a desk you will not be disappointed.

These speakers work really well! First of all, the set is ridiculously easy to install. Just plug in the power, plug in the USB, and you're golden. The speakers basically start working right away.I use the speakers with my laptop, but I don't think I would ever carry them anywhere. They come in one stream-lined (but long and difficult to carry), long set, and they can adjust to lengthen or shorten, based on the width of your screen. The speaker covers are made of very light mesh material (not the plastic or metal mesh) and probably tear very easily. These are not the sort of speakers you'd take with you on a trip. But if you use your computer in mainly a stationery setting, or if you just wanted to use the speakers to boost sound on a movie or a CD, then I think they work great.Included with the speakers are a USB cord extension (which is pretty useful, as the cord that comes attached to the speakers is really short), a power cord, and a webcam bracket.Overall, I don't think you're getting top-end sound with these speakers. But they're less than $100, they're easy to set up, and they are a vast improvement over the built-in speakers on any laptop I've encountered.

In a first look I'd decided to buy it for my laptop and for travelling purposes. It has great sound quality and clarity. Add-on feature for webcam is awasome. Ease of operation for volume control style is also very well designed. Overall, it's good product to have in your home.

Most of the reviews of this product have been more elaborate than mine, giving a detailed account about the performance. Mine is going to be much simpler: They do exactly what I wanted them to do - enhance the sound on my laptop. I had my granddaughter over the other day and she wanted to play a DVD on the laptop as grandpa was watching something else on TV. We tried but the sound was so soft we could hardly hear anything -- certainly not good enough to keep a four-year-old's interest for a 90-minute movie. So I knew I needed something better. When these became available via the Vine program, I snatched them up. Not only do they perform as good as I need them to, the quality of the sound for playing CDs or something from iTunes is top-notch. And I didn't lose a USB port, I gained two. How great is that? They were very easy to install as well. As far as portability is concerned, no I won't be carrying them around the house, but they are certainly perfect for my little desk and perfectly fine to take with us on a trip. I really couldn't ask for anything more. I am certainly a happy camper. Highly recommended.

Logitech's AudioHub Notebook Speaker laptop dock is a stylish, functional accessory with great sound quality to boot. Basically, if you are in the market for a speaker upgrade for your laptop computer you'd be hard pressed to find a better solution at this price range, especially when factoring in Amazon's additional discounting. I found this particular 'dock' style of laptop speakers much more preferable over standard (2 piece) speaker add-ons because of the sleek form-factor it provides, as well as the added convenience of the built in USB 2.0 hubs along with a nifty webcam attachment. Plugging in my 15" inch Dell was about as easy as could be expected. I also liked the amber hued power lights which added to its sleek and cool presentation. Most important of all the sound quality was surprisingly good for a package of its size. I've now spent many hours with this setup listening to mp3's, CD's, DVD movies and countless podcasts. Am very satisfied with the overall quality, both in build and sound quality of this set.

I got the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers to use on my 15-inch laptop, since the built in computer speakers are not-so-good. The AudioHub speakers arrived very well packaged with almost every surface was covered with protective plastic.The speakers are easy to set up and use. They require external power, so they must be plugged into the wall. I connected it to my computer with the included USB cable and in about twenty seconds, the speakers were working.The speaker has a big, light-up orange volume knob on the side. The size of the speakers is adjustable, so they will fit behind bigger sized notebooks. Also, there are three extra USB ports on the side, which is a nice added feature. The speakers even come with an included stand for attaching a web cam, but this stand can be easily removed if not used.The sound of the speakers is impressively good. I was surprised with how good the sound was, considering the price and size of the speakers. Overall, these speakers are an excellent audio solution for a notebook computer.

Speakers generally require size to sound impressive, so it is difficult for a manufacturer to build a notebook speaker system that excels in all categories: detail, soundstage, clear highs, stirring lows and wide stereo separation. Therefore, I approached these speakers with somewhat low expectations. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the speakers' ability to reproduce clear midrange and highs and to provide good detail in complex musical passages. I was underwhelmed, though, by the speakers' ability to reproduce mid to low bass with authority and no distortion. Unfortunately, the speakers were unable to deal with certain types of music, such as electronic music with somewhat exaggerated bass riffs, without getting muddy and distorting easily. Moreover, even though there is a clever extension or pull out option that allows for better stereo separation, the speakers sounded somewhat closed in and almost monoral. On the whole, these notebook speakers are adequate for notebook applications, but don't expect them to dazzle you with spectacular sound.

Ever since I got my ibook 18 months ago, I've had no complaints...except for the speakers. Listening to anything was okay at best, and sometimes you really want to hear the fine details of music.I considered to be one downside of a great laptop. I thought about getting external speakers, but the bulk and wires meant I'd be tethered to a desk.The Logitech has been a graceful compromise: it's sleek, attractive, easy to move around, and the sound is amazing fcoming rom such a small device. The music on my ibook suddenly has a million more dimensions, and i don't mean just volume. It's given my ibook an entirely new lease on life!It's easy to put together, a big plus for a non-techie like me. The price is emminently reasonable, and IMHO, definitely worth it. Highly recommend!

First off, the speakers are quite good for their size. I can't complain about the sound. The bass was pretty impressive.I enjoy that the speakers come with a built in 4-port USB hub.The fact that the speakers are attached as one unit has its plusses and minuses. There's no way this thing will fit in my laptop bag, but I don't get a tangle of cables. It's also a little big to be really portable.The biggest minuses in my book is that the speakers don't extend far enough and they require external power. I realize powering the thing from USB would be a drain, but taking up a socket with powered speakers isn't great. I have a widescreen laptop with a 17" screen, and the speakers don't fully clear the width of the laptop - they are about 2" shy.I think this would be a great solution from someone who had a smaller laptob but did a lot of gaming or watched a lot of media from their desk. Just plug in and go. I can't see too many people lugging these things around.

I have Logitech X-140 speakers for my desktop and found that these speakers actually sound a little better. The "AudioHub", as Logitech is calling it, is just the right size for carrying a concise, solid sound system with your notebook/laptop. The left/right speakers adjust to fit any size laptop with a long power cord and integrated USB cable for your laptop. There are extra USB ports behind the speaker for convenience and an attachment for a webcam. It's all very compact, but I thought the sound was better than most systems this size. Although the sub-woofer is only 3" in diameter, there is an open port to allow air mass fluctuation for maximum bass. The two 2" tweeters are crisp and clear. The volume control is conveniently located to the side and adjusts `all' sound. Note that this is not a high powered sound machine (15 watts), but it is about perfect for a transient computer system. Once again, Logitech has designed a system that is appropriate for personal laptop use and the price is very reasonable.

Logitech has always made solid products and the AudioHub is no exception. It is well built and well designed - the 3-port USB hub is great addition as it puts them at your reach, but out of the way regardless of whether you use this with a laptop as intended or under your LCD monitor. The webcam stand is also a nice addition (not usable if these speakers are placed under an LCD monitor).But it is the sound that you want to know about, isn't it? Like all of the higher-end Logitech speaker systems, the AudioHub delivers good quality sound with sharp highs and good mid-range. Where it falls a little short, but to no surprise, is on the lows; there is only so much bass you can get out of small speakers.All and all, this is a good sounding speaker system with nice design and construction. if you are looking for this level of speakers with good design and extras, the AudioHub will be a good choice. If you are looking for superior sound quality, then this unit will fall a little short of your expectations.

This speaker system for notebooks was really easy to set up. You plug it into an electrical outlet, you plug the USB port into your notebook, you turn the power switch on the speaker system and you are ready to go - the software was automatically recognized by my IBM ThinkPad X60 with Windows XP. I had this up and running within 5 minutes of opening the box. It doesn't get any easier then that! The speakers themselves are pretty good quality. I blasted music and the volume got very loud (when used in connection with PCs volume setting) with little to no distortion. This speaker system is not portable but it takes up little space on my desk. When I use my laptop elsewhere, I missed the speakers and the existing system seemed sooo weak by comparision. I've gotten cheaper speakers with the same quality (Creative Labs) but they were not as simple to install.Measurements: 17" long x 3" height x 5+" wide
