Got these speakers to increase the low volume on my laptop for watching VOD's. I couldn't be happier. The sound is crisp and clear; and these speakers have the capacity to to be quite loud and still be clear. They are easy to setup too. My only wish is I wish the power cord was longer.

I was a little lost at first but once I got this baby hooked up to my macbook, oh the joy! My internal laptop speakers were weak and tinny and these were the second set of speakers I had purchased. My first purchase was from eBay for a nondescript, generic brand. I had to be refunded due to DOA status, so I was understandably skiddish and hesitant for the next time around ENTER; , LOGICTECH AUDIOHUB NOTEBOOK SPEAKERS. compact, stylish, powerful; I most likely will never use the webcam extension thingey since my notebook has one built in but, I was so pleased, I danced around in celebration to the tunes of Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor and Stabbing Westward. The bass is powerful. One quick note: once I hooked the speakers up, I had to go to system preferences to route the sound to the AudioHub, it wasn't automatic. That took some time to figure out, (Not a Logitech issue) but once set up, very very pleased. Thanks [...] Inexpensive, efficient, simple to use, very stylish!

The AudioHub is one of the best Mac-friendly peripherals I've ever owned. It really helps consolidate the MESS of cables a separate 2.1 speaker system and USB 2.0 hub normally entail. 1-cable. 1-power supply. But the best surprise was how the volume and mute button triggers the onscreen volume and mute icon of Mac OSX! Nice touch - without any additional Logitech software needed to be installed. It just works!I'd love to see a revision of an "AudioHub II" with... oh perhaps a TONE control or additional UP-pointing USB port for removable Flash Drives and such, even more refined speaker drivers, heck there's enough room in it's case to add the ability to slide in in a 2.5" laptop drive for a Back-up system! This is a GREAT well-designed product. No regrets.

The packaging was appealing and innovative, almost similar to something Apple would use for their products. The sound quality from the speakers was very good but lacks tone, treble, and bass adjustment. The highs don't sound "high" enough, but the low and mid-range notes are quite audible. The entire speaker assembly plugs into a USB port on your computer and replaces your sound card. In XP, I noticed that the computer recognizes the AudioHub as a "sound card" instead of my Audigy. The positive aspect of using a USB interface is that you no longer have to manually turn off the speakers when you leave the room (something I often do) because they shut off as soon as the PC is turned off. You do get 3 additional powered USB ports with the AudioHub.The AudioHub was designed for Notebooks, but I noticed that it required a large piece of real estate in order to use it with a laptop. The only way you can use it as intended is to use your laptop on a very large desk, like one you would have in an office. I use my laptop on a small table since the whole idea of a laptop is portability and compactness. Instead, I am using the AudioHub on my gaming PC which works out quite nicely.Pros: The subwoofer does a decent job of producing the lows, while the woofers perform well for the mid-range notes. The innovative design of the speaker makes it very sleek and attractive, taking up less space than other 2.1 speaker systems.Cons:The high notes seem to be missing. While playing some games, the lack of the high notes made it an awkward experience. For instance, in Race 07 WTCC, I was expecting to hear the shrill sound of a 4 cylinder engine sprinting at 8000 RPM. I could hear it with my Creative 2.1 speakers that has a tone adjustment knob while the Audigy could be adjusted for treble and balance. None of these 3 adjustments are available with the AudioHub. The size of the AudioHub makes it a semi-permanent desktop resident. I even had trouble locating a spot on my desk to use it with the gaming PC! The satellite speakers are attached to the woofer unit so you are limited in mounting configurations. If the speakers were detached, it would offer more flexibility.Overall: As a replacement sound "board" for a notebook audio system, the AudioHub does a fantastic job. It even works extremely well on a desktop PC. However, it is quite a large unit so make sure your workspace has the room to accommodate it and do not expect to bring these speakers with you on a trip. Consider these speakers a permanent attachment to a docking station. Logitech has improved by leaps and bounds for PC accessories and I am not disappointed with the AudioHub.

I have a 2.1 speakers for my desktop so when I do stuff on my laptop like watching movies or listening to music while I'm laying down, I feel disappointed at the built in speakers. The built in speakers are too low so I always have to turn the volume too loud.Pros:These speakers work great, I actually enjoy watching movies and listening to music on my laptop now; I love the sound quality on it for its price. It's plug and play, no software installation or anything neededCons:It's not really portable (big and no carrying case).

These are great speakers, and for the price, it's hard to beat. If you have a room or apartment, this is more than enough to fill the place with sound. I have this in my bedroom, and I can be two walls and about 30 feet in away in my kitchen and hear the music just fine. No distortion or buzzing at loud settings either. The built-in sub is small, but if you're close to the speakers there is enough bass. I keep mine on my desk right behind my laptop, and it's really fantastic sound. Couple this with $19.99 from TigerDirect and this is a great deal. Also included are three USB ports in the back. So even though it takes up one USB port on your computer, you get two more. And it includes a USB extension cord. The price of those two extras alone would probably cost 1/2 the price of this system.I have two negative critiques: one minor and one probably my own fault. First, the size. Look carefully at the user-added pictures, it is a pretty bulky speaker. Although this isn't a problem for me, others may find it a bit larger than expected. Second, there is only one manual control, and that is volume. I haven't found a way to adjust the bass, but then again, it could be doable through Windows and it's my own fault for not exploring more carefully. But I haven't really had to look because the default setting sounds good enough.I have already recommended these speakers to others, and if you're looking for something under $40, this is the way to go!

I bought this item in Costa Rica, completely unfamiliar with the product. One listen and I thought it had been priced wrong. This is an INCREDIBLE value. I have a MacBook, so I'm not real audio enhanced when using the standard built-ins; normally I use headphones, which is just one more wire, cumbersome, and a bit difficult to hear the telephone. This product has been a welcome addition. The sound is surprisingly rich on the low end, and not at all tinny or hollow on the high end. Having the USB docking for accessories such as an iPod (with charging capability) makes this an absolute no-brainer purchase. It is seriously worth twice the price. The only potential issue would be the size and weight, but if you mostly use this as a fixed add-on to your laptop, you will be thrilled.

Being the owner of several different types of speakers for laptops and iPod's. Thus far, this unit, as a stand alone is my favorite, and for these reasons:1) The Orange Button on the side. It gives you a clear indication as to whether the sound is on or not, so no unnecessary blasting your face off and wondering where the volume is at when the music kicks in.2) The sleek design is cool enough to warrant the device to be used as a stand alone unit on my kitchen counter. It doesn't stand out or need a foolish amount of wires to plug it in to the computer and the wall, unlike my JBL speaker set which can double as a clothesline or belay lines up Everest.3) The incremental volume control is sensitive enough so that you can actually fade the music out if need be instead of hearing a drop off when you're trying to listen to something incredibly quiet. Like in the middle of the night, for instance, when everyone else is asleep and you want to hear Marvin Gaye or something. No problem.4) No installation of anything at all. Wow! Amazing concept. I'm tired of installing drivers and unnecessary software for the most simplest devices these days. I plugged it in via USB and viola ... done. Didn't even require a manual.5) The sound that the little unit feeds throughout the room is quite impressive and when strategically placed could probably replace a larger system for casual listening.6) Wide enough to do what it says it can, judging from the picture on the box. I have a 17" screen and it does fit nicely behind it and the speakers slide out 2 inches on each side if necessary if you need to adjust it.7) I didn't need the extra attachment that came with the unit as I have no intent on ever using a web cam.8) Also, I'm not going to use it as pictured, and I don't think placing the unit behind my screen, giving me stereo sound, was necessary - as the unit a few feet away provided more sound than anyone could ask for from such a small unit.9) This unit is good for a consumer level usage, students, casual internet surfers and folks wanting to listen to music from their laptop without an obtrusive set-up.10) The unit also provides three extra (powered) USB ports which do come in handy.11) I'm using this speaker system in conjunction with my Dell Inspiron 1721 Laptop with a 17" screen.Very cool unit indeed.

The AudioHub from Logitech is a great speaker system. It's a jet black system and comes with a hookup for your camera if you want it mounted above your computer. Since I have a laptop with a built-in camera, I didn't connect the "crane" to the speaker frame, decreasing its profile. It looks nice. It sounds better. The smallish speakers slide out to fit beyond the sides of your laptop, and the sound quality is clear and, if you want it, very loud. Surprising loud! The coverings over the speakers seem fragile (so be careful when you are pulling them out; they may be more resilient than I imagine, but I don't want them to tear) but, apart from that, it's a very sturdy system. It was a little hard to get my system initially hooked up. I have a MacBook and it didn't work immediately. I looked at the handy-dandy easy instructions and squinted to read the troubleshooting guide (Mac users are notorious for plugging things in and expecting them to work). After following the instructions (this time), I was able get it all set up and working, but now every time I unhook it I have to adjust my computer settings again. This is kind of annoying, but it really only takes a second. What I have to do is go to system preferences, click on sound, and switch it from internal speakers to AudioHub. It automatically goes back to the default when unplugged. The USB cord is short, but it comes with a 4 foot extension. The only problem with this is that the cord that is connected to the AudioHub can easily disconnect from the extension if you snag it lightly. Use some tape to hold it if it bothers you.If the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers set is taking up your computer's only USB socket, no worries. It has three more USB sockets on the back side. The power cord is long so you don't have to be right next to the outlet. But wouldn't a battery system be nice!I used this initially for music, but I found myself really liking it for movies. So why wouldn't I use a pair of external speakers instead? I have a pair of external speakers for my desktop, and I could get another pair for my notebook. It's nice having choices, and this speaker system is nice and tidy, part of my MacBook's "natural footprint" and with a low profile.Overall, it's a nice device that produces the sound you deserve.

I purchased the Audiohub for a new Desktop Computer System with a LG 22" LCD Monitor that I got recently and didn't really think this thing would be a good fit for it as it is made more for a Notebook Computer but I just wanted something with decent sound for listing to Music and Videos on the PC and boy was I surprised when I hook it up to my PC running it with Windows Vista Home Premium. The Sound Quality is Excellent with Crystal Clear Highs ans Lows and believe it or not, Pretty Good Bass Too! I played back a Movie with this and it Souded Great, like a Good Expensive 2.1 Surround Sound System and for a much lower price you can't beat this thing. So anybody out there thinking about getting this nice little piece for their Desktop PC don't hesitate to do it as it's definetely worth it to hook it up to a Desktop PC so just take my word for it as you wont go wrong with the Audiohub!

Hardware:When it comes to speaker systems for laptops, in my humble opinion, size and weight should be utmost design concerns. If you can't bring the form factor down to a highly compact and highly portable system, forget about it, might as well go with the traditional form factor. Straight out of box, the one-piece Logitech speaker system is about the size of a foot-long meatball sub and weighs in at a hefty EIGHT pounds! To add insult to injury, two ends of the speakers are extendable to add another 5-6 inches to its foot-long Hummer-like profile. The whole reason for me to own a laptop is to be highly mobile, which means I will probably never travel anywhere with this extra eight pounds even if it provided pro-quality studio monitor acoustics.Performance:First, a few words about installation. The good news is, it's easy. The whole thing connects to your PC via a standard USB, not a whole lot to say there. The bad news is, there are many nuisances once the speaker unit is connected to your PC. If a program was already producing sound on your standard PC speakers, after attaching the Logitech unit, the sound will continue to play on your standard PC speakers. You have to do a couple of things: 1. go to Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Device->Audio->Default device, and choose the USB audio device; 2. restart your program. The reason for this absurdity, in my opinion, is the poorly designed and implemented driver. Now, on to performance. Despite the inexplicable size and weight, the "premium audio" produced by the unit is rather a lackluster let-down. Sure, it sounds decent and way better than my Thinkpad built-in cheapos, but at 90 dollars and 8 pounds, I expected much more. Another very infuriating thing is that the unit does not appear to be magnetically shielded. My wife's PDA phone is known to produce static on cheap speakers, and guess what, I hear them loud and clear on my new "pro audio" unit. Conclusion:Hardly worth it. If the unit was 30% of its current size, I would consider day-to-day use with my laptop. If the unit was 30% of the current price, I would consider day-to-day use with my desktop. With its current size and current price, I honestly don't know what to do with it.

This is possibly one of the best add-ons i can think of for a laptop. The speakers on my Inspiron 1525 were poor at best and were just barely good enough for Youtube videos. So today i said enough was enough and what i find but the Audiohub. At this price I didn't expect much but WOW, these babies can blow. Highs and mids are perfect, bass could be a bit louder if you ask me but you can expect much from a 3" driver. By all means these are no Studio Monitors but for a semi-portable system the peaker system with comparable sound is the Bose® SoundDock® Series II digital music system for iPod® - Black and we can all see the price difference, not to mention the fact that it's not for laptops. All in all if you're disappointed in your laptop speakers output you shouldn't be reading this review you should be checking out already. However one word of caution before buying, Logitech advertises this as being able to expand outwards to accommodate screen sizes up to and including 17". If you have a widescreen laptop, which means any AR past 4:3 you may be S.O.L. My 15" Inspiron 1525 fits by a margin of about 1/4 of an inch per side. So if you have a larger screen it may block the speakers. Other than that I cant say much else negative about this product.

The Logitech Audiohub is an external speaker system and a USB hub for IBM-compatible and Macintosh laptops with a USB port. The dual satellite speakers and the sub-woofer are inside the case and use a custom-tuned three-chamber design. There is a cable control device on the back to help keep wires from your devices tidy. The packaging double boxes the speakers for extra protection. Removable plastic film seals help to protect the finish of the unit. The directions provide easy steps to get connected, and connecting the Audiohub does not require any software installations. The operating system on the laptop seems to recognize the unit, and I was then able to control the volume of the Audiohub with either the volume controls on my laptop or by an illuminated knob on the right side of the unit. Logitech has a reputation for making excellent computer audio products. That said, the Audiohub did not deliver the expected sound quality or volume level that I had anticipated. In fact, I would say that the audio from my MacBook (the MacBook MB063LL/B 13.3" Laptop) is similar in quality and volume to what the Audiohub produced. The chief advantage I can see is that it provides additional USB ports, probably more valuable for those who possess multiple USB connected devices they prefer to use simultaneously. There is also a Webcam stand that connects to the Audiohub. While I can see a better height could be achieved for video chats and conferencing, I personally found this to be an unimportant feature since mine has its own built-in webcam that already has height flexibility. Overall, I found the speakers were very easy to install, but the end result was less than optimal. Louder volume with greater tonality would be the first enhancement I would like to see with these speakers because that would be the primary reason I would purchase external speakers that do not provide portability. Second, I feel the bass response could be significantly improved in the sound quality. In sum, I am disappointed with this Logitech product given my strongly positive experience with their Harmony One Universal Remote.

For those who use their laptop computers largely in a fixed location, the Logitech AudioHub speakers would be a worthwhile addition. The most important consideration, of course, is sound quality. I am not an audiophile and so most likely don't even know the nuances one would listen for. To my untrained ear, however, these speakers sound excellent. The bass is somewhat lacking, but is fuller than I've heard from many other external speakers, including some with dedicated bass units. The AudioHub's internal amplifier can drive the sound to more than room filling levels without distortion. There is an easy to adjust volume control, but no tone controls. I found using the equalizer function on WinAmp brought up the bass response nicely, but still not to floor shaking levels. Overall, for music and movies, the AudioHub delivers a very nice experience, certainly (and expectedly), much better than the notebooks internal speakers. Both slick and sleek appropriately describe the unit's design. The main housing is of a trapezoid shape, which is quite pleasing to the eye. Each end of the unit extends to accomodate wide laptops and to provide greater separation between the units. The front of the unit is covered in a black fabric which I hope doesn't become a nasty dust catcher. The main unit sits about an inch off the surface which not only minimizes vibration and creep, but also allows cable passthrough, should such be necessary for power cables and so on. The unit has three unpowered USB ports built-in and connects to the laptop with a single USB cable, allowing for quick disconnect if you want to take your laptop with you. An AC adaptor is provided. There is no provision for battery power nor is there an on/off switch. Taken altogether, the Logitech AudioHub is a clever piece of design that works better than external speakers with all their cables. The sound is good, though audiophiles will probably find the lack of powerful bass response undesirable. The provision of the three USB ports will serve the needs of many people. A very nice piece of work overall. Logitech is really getting better and better at merging design and function in their product line.Jerry

While I was off at Lotusphere, one of my Vine review packages got delivered... It's the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers, and I finally got a chance to hook them up and take them for a spin. In short, I'm impressed...Once you take them out of the package, you're only about two minutes away from ditching the sound from your normal laptop speakers. You plug in the speakers to a power source, attach the USB plug into one of your laptop ports, and that's it. The speakers on the side slide in and out to adapt to the width of your laptop screen, so you don't have to worry about multiple components finding a place on your desk. There's an extension stand you can clip on the back in order to place your webcam at eye level as part of your whole speaker system. Volume knob is on the side of the right speaker, and it's absolutely no problem to adjust the sound to meet your needs.A nice touch is the additional USB ports that come on the speaker unit. Since you have to take up one of your laptop ports for the speaker, the other alternative would be to get a small USB port of some sort. But fortunately, you have three more ports once you plug in the speakers. In some ways, you can almost treat this unit as a laptop docking station when it comes to having all your peripherals plugged in. When you leave and come back, just plug in the USB speaker ports, and you'll have everything back for your desktop configuration.Of course, the important thing in a speaker system is sound. And this unit has it. The side speakers deliver clear, crisp sound rivaling most desktop speaker systems you'd normally use. Add in the base coming out of the center unit, and you have a system that will make your music and games sound like you're right there. There are some gadgets that I get that don't become part of my normal daily workflow. The Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speakers will avoid that fate, as I've got the space cleared off on my desk and there's no reason to have to move it. Now I can use my laptop as a music system while I'm using my desktop for real work. Can't beat a setup like that...

What is your primary consideration when buying external speakers for your laptop? If it's small size and portability, then you won't like this. If you want great sound, and you're going to use the laptop in pretty much the same location every day, then the Logitech Audio Hub is a great choice. I've been using it to listen to classical guitar and opera, and find it has a rich sound and plenty of range. You can turn the lighted volume knob up all the way and you won't get vibration or distortion. The sound isn't going to fill an auditorium, but it's more than adequate for an office. It wasn't clear to me in the pictures, but the unit doesn't attach directly to the back of your laptop, like a true docking station - it connects with a USB cable. It doesn't have to be flush up to the back of your laptop. While it does take up one of your computer's own USB ports, it gives you access to three additional USB ports that are part of the Audio Hub itself. There is an indicator light that lets you know when the USB hub is on/off. If you use your laptop with a wireless keyboard, or other non-portable devices, you can leave them plugged into the Audio Hub at your primary location when you're taking your laptop on the road - so, the Audio Hub functions as a kind of docking station, too.For those who use an external web cam, there is a special mounting bracket that you can add to the back of the Audio Hub. This is a nice extra with a more stable mount and a neater appearance than using a stack of books behind your computer. Using or not using the bracket has no impact on the other features of the Audio Hub, it was just a thoughtful engineering touch. Things like that make me believe that as much thought went into engineering the rest of the unit - the parts that don't always show.As speakers go, these have outstanding sound quality. The Audio Hub also includes some very nice extras that go way beyond what I'd expect from external speakers. My only quibble with the Audio Hub is that it requires yet another electrical outlet. Recommended!

I got it for my new HP 16 inch wide screen Laptop. It just fit, so don't think it will fit an 18 inch as advertised. The sound it full and clear, even at the highest volume, but this unit is made strictly for personal usage. It will not fill-up a room with sound as others have written, but within 6-7 feet away it performs well. just because it's self- powered don't think it will thump-up the volume like the Logitech 2300, the volume seems to have a fixed max on this unit that is OK for around the laptop usage. The added USB connector adapter is a good addition because it takes some of the stress off the much smaller cord that comes with the unit.All-in all, you get a rich sound from a set of low profile speakers. The only con is that the USB connector is much too long. I fear it could be bent or broken. My thinking is, if it's not wireless, why does the USB connector need to be so long?

Considering the discount (slashed?) price I didn't know what to expect. Since I needed more USB ports I decided to order one just to check it out. It arrived in good order, in fact, it was considerably overpackaged by both Logitech and the seller. When I plugged it into my laptop it hooked itself up, added itself to a few places and shut the headphone jack on my computer down. Then I pulled up my media player and was pleasantly surprised. Yes, I did have to tweak the equalizer a bit (high end response is really there; I also massaged the bass a little), but that was all. If you travel, you will love this. The USB port function works perfectly. It even comes with a camera mount and something I did not expect (and found out I needed): a USB extension cable. Aside from the USB and the power cord, that's all there is to it. I guess, and you could say it's me being old school, I expected the sound quality to be nowhere near as good as it is, but it is. Highs are clear and not strident, mids impressive, lows rumble just enough. I like this little outfit.

These "notebook" speakers are designed for those who use their laptops in the same place, day after day. They weigh almost as much as my MacBook and, because they come in a long, solid piece, are more awkward to carry. If you are looking for portable speakers to take with you on vacation or on business trips, skip this product. If you're looking for rich audio at home or at school, read on.This unit is truly plug-and-play, with no installation disks and a minimal manual. Simply plug the power cord into an outlet (these speakers cannot run on battery power) and plug the USB cable into your computer. The end speakers can slide about two inches wider on both sides to keep various size screens from blocking the sound. The speaker unit comes with a USB cable, a USB cable extender (especially important if your USB slots are on the left side of your notebook), a bracket for holding a webcam above the laptop screen, and a 100-240 V power adaptor. Three USB ports are located behind the right speaker, although the topmost slot is too tight for fatter devices/plugs. These ports are essential since the speakers themselves take a USB slot on your notebook, and you probably have a mouse attached to another. The sound is rich and without annoying hum at both the loudest and softest volumes. While many portable speaker units sound tinny when the volume is cranked up, the Logitech AudioHub sounds surprisingly steady. Yeah, you're not getting the highest end audio here, but you'll definitely get quality sound for the money. The volume knob on the side glows orange, making it easy to locate even at night. The AudioHub is perfect for college students who don't have the space for larger speakers but who don't want to sacrifice sound quality as well as for people who use their notebooks in the same place every day. Although the speakers would work fine with a desktop computer, their single-unit construction makes them less than ideal. The only real advantage of this unit over similar sounding speakers is the ability to unplug it and move everything to the side with one action.

The Logitech Audio is a great piece of hardware. Not only is it a speaker system for your laptop (or desktop), but it is also a USB hub (it has 3 USB ports on it). Although not exactly portable, it is smaller than most 2.1 systems. It is the perfect size for a dorm, which is exactly what I bought it for. Most importantly, for the price I bought it for ($30 on circuitcity.com), the sound is mesmerizing. The bass is slightly lacking, but I cannot complain; there's still bass but not surface-shaking bass. The sound is crystal-clear and it is a HUGE improvement over the terrible speakers on laptops. The better the quality of the mp3 or movie you are playing, the better the sound output will be and the more you will appreciate it. The volume definitely fills a dorm room up. It's incredible how loud it can get without getting so distorted. I use this for my MacBook and setup is easy. Just plug it in a USB port, then plug in the power cord, and change your sound output to the AudioHub in the System preferences. You're done in about 2-4 minutes. Overall, I completely recommend it because of its size, price, great sound, simplicity to setup, and USB Hubs.

This is a great set of speakers, in terms of comfort, power, suitability and price. I bought this set for about $30 to go with my laptop as I moved away for school, and could not be more satisfied. They fit into almost any size laptop, standing right behind to serve as a backboard as well. The extra usb ports are a pleasant addition as well as the webcam holder. They are loud - I could hear them easily from two rooms down, behind doors, so power should not be a worry. They look superior to any other plain set of speakers, and the volume knob on the side is convenient as well. They are not portable, but better left on the table as a permanent set for the laptop. Regardless, it is definitely an item I would recommend to someone looking for complementary speakers for their laptop.

Хорошо
Being a sound guy, I'm pretty picky about sound, but am willing to not have extremely high expectations for anything under $100 that doesn't fit in the palm of your hand. However, the Logitech AudioHub speakers are a pleasant surprise. At about 16 inches wide closed, these aren't for casual carrying around in a laptop bag. BUT if you're stuck in a hotel and love your music, these are the best you're going to find short of wrapping up your messy computer speakers.Basically, there are two 2" tweeters and what looks like a 4" woofer which does a decent job in delivering bass. It's rare to have a set of speakers this size where playing with the iTunes EQ actually makes a difference and offers and analog to a real stereo system and sounding great and even 3x louder than laptop speakers.I'm taking a business trip and these will be in my bag for sure. The only real weakness aside from their awkward shape, is the thin layer fabric protecting your tweeters from getting dinged. I'll probably cut a piece of cardboard to go over it when putting into my luggage.

Великолепно
I really like this laptop speaker system. it works in conjunction with the volume control of your laptop. this speaker system will amplify the level of volume you set your laptop. it's really clear and can really boost the volume of your laptop. the only drawback is that it's bulky. it's not for someone that's on the go.but I definitely recommend this speaker system for someone that wants more than what the laptop speakers can offer.
