I did turn off HDR for games as I found it just a little too dark. The vivid mode also added a slight delay to some games.
Remote is fine, not sure why prople are complaining about not getting a "magic remote" as it clearly states this is not included.
Bought it via the 5 monthly payments option which is great and made me feel more confident making the purchase.

This tv has ample smart features and apps and the ai really drives it forward. It has plenty of settings to get the picture and sound right for you and quick change options. Game mode activates automatically when using a console to help push HSR and surround sound capabilities.
The picture is a lower end 4k quality but HDR helps make that picture clearer.
For the money it's a good option, the reason it loses a star is the stand is two cheap pieces of plastic with one screw in each and sometimes the voices in movies is drowned out by other sounds even on 'clear voice mode'. You get a standard remote and not the magic remote but I believe it is compatible as for some of the settings it suggests you using one. These are purchasable separately but are definitely not required

Although when the background is sunny, the picture is excellent, I have noticed that at dark or night scenes, the screen is covered with a bit of gray filter and is not blackened as it should in order to contrast accordingly.
Am not sure why... I tried hard but could not improve it significantly. It's not visible that much but hey, for 340 pounds I can't recommend it enough. The remote is horrible though, you need to have ballerinas little fingers to operate it so I ll buy the LG magic remote and operate Alexa as well.

As I have only purchased the product, I will update this review in another couple of weeks or so but so far, so good!
Up to now, everything is GOOD - BUT you seriously need to purchase an Amazon 4K UHD firestick to make your smart TV, much, much smarter than you could imagine. The applications available are on a massive scale - everything one could want is there, within reason of course. Treat yourself, even if you are getting the 4K firestick to make your boring, 'run of the mill' smart TV a really SMART TV.

Interface on this TV is pretty good. And that's about it for the good.
Picture ranges from dull to overly bright. The dynamic range is so awful I couldn't see a neon light in a bar.
There's ghosting on any significant motion, it does not handle action scenes very well.
This was more expensive than my last TV and keep in mind I'm comparing it to that older competing model.
I've never used alexa but I've seen nothing of it in this model. I'd return it if I could be bothered with the hassle.
Everything about this model feels lazy.
TDLR : you can do better for less.

The sound quality is OK unless you want to watch the PROMS.
Be warned though ..... currently, BBC IPLAYER is not available because of a licensing issue.
They don't tell you this !!!!
I spent several hours trying to install it until I phoned LG and was told they are still in negotiations with the BBC.

The remote that came with it is truly one of the worst remote controls I have ever come across. Very difficult to use in dim lighting by feel, and even in bright lighting when you can see what you're hitting it's exceptionally confusing. Waaaaaaaaaay too many buttons, and too easy to hit the wrong button. The "magic" remote is not included, and it's pretty expensive as an add-on that I cannot justify.
Sound wise, it's not the best. I would have expected a little more from the LG brand. I find it very muffled watching TV/Netflix/Prime, but it's generally OK listening to the radio. And that's after changing the sound settings in the somewhat limited options available. (There is no bass/middle/treble individual adjustment). I might be connecting it to a soundbar soon....
This does NOT have the full Alexa experience that is apparently available on some LG models. Even though it clearly says "Alexa Certified" on the description page. It has the "basic" ThinQ, not the "complete". That was very disappointing to discover, but I had already got rid of the packaging by the time I tried to set it up, so it was too late for a return.
Picture wise though, it's reasonable.
Overall though, I simply cannot recommend it even at 329, let alone over 400 that is currently being asked. I would strongly suggest looking at alternates.

Firstly I must say that I have spoken to LG customer support but. all I got was excuses for why the TV was not working as it should.
To start with the TV takes about 60 seconds to change TV channels so you end up pressing the button several times so it skips past the channel that you actually wanted in the first place.
The USB record feature of live TV does not work at all.
The installed Web browser is very basic so it doesn't work on a lot of websites LG said that the web browser is only there to check internet the connection but I don't think that's good enough for a 2019 smart TV. That said as smart TV's go this LG has some great features, it's just let down by the bugs.
For anybody thinking of buying an LG smart TV I wouldn't if I was you.

Channel set up is easy enough, mostly auto options but plenty of manual if you want to diy.
The remote supplied is too small for me with lots of buttons squashed onto a small frame. My fingers were pressing 2 buttons at the same time, frustrating. The buttons were also not making proper contact, having to press the same button 2 or 3 times before getting a reaction when only a few inches from the tv. Again, frustrating.
The worst thing is the stand. I know these modern flat screens are mostly meant to be mounted on walls but for the moment I have to use the stands. 2 small, low, 3 legged supports screwed in to the base at either end of the frame. For the size and weight of the tv the stands are unsafe and unsuitable leaving me worried about not if, but when the tv is going to topple over and I'm not there to catch it. For the weight and cost a much stronger stand with a higher and wider leg spread should be suppled.
'Thanks for listening children'...

However, there is regular issues with what looks like pixellation or fragments or something, as well as any movement just seems juddery. I've tested this on both Amazon Prime and Netflix as that is what I will primarily be using the TV for and it appears om both platforms.
I may just be being an idiot, but if there is any advice people have that would be useful I'd love a hand. Either that or I guess you get what you pay for.

Having delved into some forums it transpires that these apps have to be approved by BBC etc, which I think may have slowed down due to COVID. The TV features compatible Apple airplay connection so we can use our phones but it’s a bit annoying.

The rest of the functions are good as any other tv, buttons on the remote are small in my opinion, like the ‘back’ button on the remote could be bigger and in a better place because it’s used all the time,, but this is the same with the Samsung remotes and most others I’ve seen.

BUT...when the unbroken one arrived it was great. Big fan of LG TVs, I have a bigger one than this and I love it. Bought this one for my dad and he is chuffed.
Such a great picture, the HD is crisp and clear.
Smart features allow for Netflix and other streaming apps.
Good picture for playstation gaming too.
A great tv at a decent price ( we got in black friday sales)
