Great budget earbud

These earbuds hold up very well against even some of the higher end earbuds like AirPods and Galaxy buds, the noise pass through option works well and is handy for talking, the ANC is pretty good but doesn’t block out louder noises such as drills, generators and, saws. They block out crowds and car noises pretty well, has very good bass and nice punchy highs, only compliant is the buttons don’t allow for much customization, I would like to see a update that would allow each function to be bound to a button instead of both sides being set, they fit in my ear very comfortably and I can’t shake them out no mater how hard I shake my head, they should fit almost all ear sizes big or small

Awesome, get the APP as well!

My teen daughter absolutely loves these. She downloaded the APP and had to show me all the different settings. If you have it on full noise canceling I can tell you she can’t hear us. That part gets a little annoying as a parent as I can’t just yell for her when I need her lol, trust me they really work. She says the sound quality is awesome as well. It does have settings for the ability to hear your surroundings either soft or loud, the noise canceling works so well I suggested she not use it when alone and in public for safety reasons. We have went through many wireless headphones and she said after these ones she will only buy these ones again if she needs a new set in the future.

Comfortable and Convenient

These earbuds are versatile and comfortable, but the case has scratched a little and the noise cancellation is not the best. However, for this price they have more than satisfied my expectations. My favorite part is how they come with three different plastic ear adapters so you can change the shape and size to fit your ear better. The battery life will last all day even if you use them a lot and the sound quality has definitely exceeded my expectations. In my opinion these are just as good as Apple while being over half the price.

JBL Tune 230NC Good Sound, Bad ANC, Superior Battery

Sound quality is really good but ANC is not near as good as my Echo Buds 2 or my coworkers Jabra 75's and 85's. Yes I know how to fit them. Call quality is really good listening and people say that my voice comes through very well even in my noisy environment that I use them in. Possibly better call quality than my Echo Buds. I work with a lot of noisy analyzer equipment that has pumps and stuff running all the time. It's not at a threshold that our sound safety people require ear plugs or muffs but it's not too far off. For the $50 I paid for them, they will make some adequate backups in case my Echo Buds get lost or broken. The biggest positive seems to be the battery life. i can play an audiobook or music for a lot longer than my Echos, Raycon's, or any of the ones that my coworker has or had. Any questions, just ask.

Great quality sound, function and fit.

These sound amazing! Especially when you use the downloadable app for customizing them (Equalizer, Noise Cancelling, earpiece functions, etc). The noise cancelling and passthrough functions are perfect for every day use and work very well (better than expected). The batteries in both the headphones themselves and the chargeable case last quite a bit of time and don't require a lot of charging in between uses. However, I don't use them for long periods of time every day so I don't know the exact number of listening hours and charging times. I've owned a few other brands in the past and these fit comfortably and without adjusting them every so often when they slowly come out and are close to falling out. These earbuds meet all of my needs as a casual user and I would definitely buy JBL in the future....definitely!

Better than beats and at half the price

I have purchased multiple brands of war bids when I see them at a price you can’t beat and I’ve had the the $40 tozo brand and the Beats Pro but Jbl tw230 easily had the best sound to both pairs. After that I seen the Jbl tw300 on sale and bought those thinking 300 is more than 230 so there’s a reason these cost almost double but was disappointed to find out they weren’t. The Jbl tw230 are my #1 choice for earbuds especially if you find them for $50 like I did. That’s a price you can’t beat but even at $100 they’re still worth it.

Only buy it on sale

I bought these during the 50% of Christmas sale which honestly a fair price compare to the usual $100 price tag. The battery is solid so far. I've fallen asleep listening to music and it's still playing the following day with battery to spare. The quality for music is good. You can hear the lyrics and beats clearly. The call volume is absolutely awful. They can hear me fine but I can't hear what the other person is saying at all. That's a critical pitfall for a hands free experience.

Great In-Ear buds

I love these buds. I'm a business traveler and have gone through all kinds of audio options over the years. Most recently I had the Bose wired over the ear head phones which work great but are cumbersome (wire). Today I have these as well as a set of Beats Head phones that I like too. I would say these are my go too every day use. I use them working in the yard, at the gym and on the plane. They work great for picking up a call as well as listening to music. I mostly use them for music but its great they can be used for a call with my active/busy life style.

Great earbuds for the cost. Noise cancellation works very well!

For the price I was expecting mediocre earbuds, but was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality and noise cancellation abilities. I have been having some issues with them slipping out during running and I am experimenting with the 3 sizes of inserts they came with to see if I can find a better fit. Out of the box the pairing to my newer Samsung phone was not without glitches. After messing around with them for some time on the JBL app, I was able to pair them, but it was not as seamless as it should have been. Since then, however, they turn on and reconnect without issue. Overall, these are great earbuds for the price.

Drowns out noisy neighbors

We purchased these as a gift for my son who lives in an apartment and is in law school. His next door neighbors are undergrads who may not last past their first year in school based on the amount of partying going on EVERY night. My son and his roommates have politely asked the neighbors to please quiet down on “school nights” by 10 pm as the rental contract states NO parties that will disturb the neighbors. The police have been called by other neighbors as well.
These in ear buds have been a god send to him. He is able to put them in and the craziness next door is gone! He said the sound quality is excellent as well!

Thank goodness we found these prior to finals!
He loves them!

Good battery and waterproof

Like the title says, battery life has not disappointed and I've used these for what feels like entire days at a time.

I have used these in the shower on days I don't plan on washing my hair. It's safe to assume I've gotten water on them, at least in the form of water vapor. No issues. I do refrain from charging them after a shower because of this. Not sure if charging with moisture would cause an issue or if there's a safety mechanism to keep from charging while wet.

An issue that recently started occurring is that when I try to control the volume, it lags for a few seconds. This could be a phone issue though (I have a Galaxy S9)

Update on issues from original review shown below.... For running, they still come loose a couple of times per mile or so. I might've just developed a hunch for how to position them better or gotten used to adjusting, but it feels much less frequent than at first. As for the interruptions, it mostly happens when windy. I've used them across rooms/walls indoors and little to no sound interruptions.

Just tried these for the first time today. Took them for a mile run. I had to use the largest bud and they barely feel snug. They didn't fall during my run but I did have to adjust them more frequently than I'd like. The JBL jump series are probably what I should've gotten, those don't budge.

Regarding connectivity, any bodily obstruction between the phone and buds causes audio to skip, like really bad. Phone is in pocket, I actually palm the phone, and I got stutter music for the next 3 seconds. Maybe getting a phone sleeve and carrying on my arm will fix this? Something worth to note if you plan on being active with these.

Great all around quality!

If you’re looking for a more cost effective alternative for wireless noise cancelling headphones instead of AirPods, I highly recommend these JBL headphones! Bluetooth setup is quick and easy, battery life is great, and they stay in my husbands ears even when working out whether on the treadmill or doing weights.

They fit !

I have small ears most anything that goes inside falls out. These stay inside. They come with 3 different size inner ear connections and the small ones work great. I don’t wear them very long so I don’t know how long their battery life is. The sound quality is good, but I’m not picky. I don’t use them for music.
I’d buy these again

Good buy.

This review is in comparison to my lost galaxy buds. Remember this as you read. I refuse to spend hundreds on another set of buds. I consider the JBL build quality to be good. The app works well(Samsung phone). I do not notice any difference in the sound quality. However, some of the conveniences are not as crisp as the buds. The touch command area seems to be narrow. I often find myself repeating the touch command due to slightly touching the wrong area. Noise canceling is ok but sometimes I get comments on the background noise when i'm in my truck. I get good range. Approximately 30ft before I start getting cutouts. Absolutely no range problems in a townhouse. I wear one bud at a time and I get about 4 hours of continuous music play. When the low battery alert sounds I switch buds.

For me, this was the game changer. It's an odd one. I had problems getting these to seal and stay while moving around at work. Frustrating but I dealt with it. One day I decided to try something different as the different tips didn't help. I put the left bud in the right ear. Amazingly that fixed about %90 of those problems. They sealed and stayed. Sound volume and quality become much better. The picture you see is the right bud in the left ear. The shape and size of my ear conveniently captures the shank adding more stability. Also, I routinely wear full faced mountain bike helmets. They never just fall out as before.

LOVE These Earbuds!

I'm generally not too enthralled with earbuds, and I'm definitely not an audiophile, but these are great. Noise cancellation works great, and I can wear them for hours without discomfort. Battery life is incredible, just be sure to download the associated app so you can shut them off when you put them back in the case. For some reason they don't always charge in the case if you haven't turned them off via the app. The app makes all the difference with these. You can select the level of noise cancellation so you can decide if you want to listen to what's going on around you, or if you want to block it all out. Sound quality is good with plenty of volume to work with.

Quality sound

The 1st set that I got was faulty, the left earbud just stopped working altogether. But I like the sound quality, the ease-of-use and the functionality was good , good battery life so I ordered another pair and sent original pair back. I’ve had no problems with the second pair. They’re great earbuds especially for the money they’re not very loud but that’s OK it will save my hearing in the future. They stay in earPretty good through many ranges of movement. Noise cancellation is pretty good 4 out of 5 stars. I chose these over air pods and I’m not disappointed in the slightest.

Best pair of earbuds I've owned!!!

The sound quality is amazing and so is the noise cancelling. Single handedly the best pair of earbuds I could've asked for at that price. And if you have the JBL app if you ever miss place an earbud you can find them with a high pitch beep that you can hear pretty far from you. The battery life is fairly decent as well about 6 and a half hours constantly going

Looks gr8, sound quality good

I bought these only bc the color matches my phone & they were on sale at Black Fri time, so got a good price. However, not exactly perfect...Don't fit well in my ears, took a lot of trial & error 2get sound quality 2 an acceptable level, as the equalizer settings are hard 2 master. Plus, not conducive 2 side sleepers, as they're very uncomfortable 2 lay on, which is why I wanted them.

Nice sound quality

Pros...Very good sound quality. Fits nicely and comfortably into ear canals. Holds a good charge and easy to clean when necessary.
Con...the charging case needs to be more handling friendly. Outer case is very smooth. Redesign the front and back of case, commonly gripped when opening or returning buds to the case. Perhaps make it a little "bumpy" or "rubbery" for a more secure finger grip. Case is not "impact" resistant so do not drop! As you can see, the case is sleek, but slick.

If you can catch it on sale, I definitely recommend

I bought this one. It was on sale for $49 for that price. These are absolutely 100% worth it. The noise cancellation is the only part I did not like as it did not seem to work well. The sound quality was pretty darn good especially if you catch it on sale for $49. If the sale ever returns I will pick up more for other members in my family.

Awesome for the price.

I bought these to replace my JBL over ear set. First noise cancelling set I have purchased so I can't compare to other brands out there.
Fit, these fit my ear perfectly. I mean perfectly. I know we all have different shaped ears, but perfect fit for me.
Sound quality, amazing is all I can say. I can hear parts of old songs from my youth that just didn't come through old 6×9s.
NCS, if I had to quantify it I would say 65% noise reduction. Somethings more some less. I use them sometimes with just the NCS running and nothing else. It's like closing a door between you and a noisy room. It's just maximised the silence, and for me that's amazing.
Cost- $99 list price, I bought them on sale supposedly for $69. Then when i recommended them the price was $49. I would buy again at 99.

Negative review is that they can't connect to both phone and laptop at the same time like my JBL headphones. But even with that I give it 5 stars.

Initial Review: Pretty good for 50 bucks

Follow up: these are awesome for 50 bucks. Don’t find much of a different between these and my wife’s AirPod pros. Only difference I’d say AirPods are a bit more comfortable but I’ve worn the jbls for hours and they’re good.

Got them because I wanted a cheap pair of headphones. They aren't superior to anything top-shelf, but an affordably solid option for ANC. I got these expecting to be rough with them (gym, commute, falling asleep, traveling internationally).

Plastic battery case, scratches easy. Not a fan of the connection process and needing to use a third party app on the iphone. The EQ option is alright but don't expect these to replace or exceed superior listening devices - especially because the majority of people don't always know what sounds good, but "it has a lot of bass".

Worth it when on sale. If they break sooner than expected, I'll be sure to update here.

Great product for price

These earbuds are great for the price. At times it is a bit hard to find a comfortable position for them in my ear. My only other complaint is that when using them as earplugs in noise canceling mode in an extra loud space they make an annoying static noise. They do this whether or not music is playing. Overall I am fairly pleased with them.

I’m amazed! In love!

Sound quality is the best, this item works even better with the app, the equalizer allow you to volume up a lo. Battery life works awesomely even with ANC on, they never fall out of my ear and I used them to workout, walk-in and running. They’re just amazing, best shopping of the year so far.
