Awesome card, just what I wanted. Works perfect and it was no problem installing it into a Windows 2008 server and also testing it on a Windows 7 PC using the drivers available at the HP website. For the incredible savings on this card I do not complain about a bracket! The card does get a little to hot for my taste but solved this by mounting a small 40mm fan on it using double sided 3M tape.This card offers better speeds than my build in motherboard Lan chipset which is Marvell.The card came well packed in bubble wrap and a static bag. It was shipped very fast, it came within 3 days. I will be back for more.

I was using this to bridge my xbox and ps3 through my pc so I could throttle the speed. I had all Cat6 cables and routers so it picked up manual full duplex gigabit without any problems. (the xbox is just 100mb though, that one worked fine on full dup 100) the two things I didn't like was that this card has no full PCI metal plate and the properties would not allow me to set in/out buffers below 80 to combat thrashing + buffer bloat, but it works, was the cheapest deal I could find, and only had 2 minor dislikes that were already expected, so 4 stars.

I ordered 7 of these through a local supplier who gets them direct from Amazon, however when the cards arrived they arrived in nothing more than a static bag with no manuals, any other packaging or low profile brackets. I'm very disappointed as although it doesn't specifically state that these cards come with low profile brackets, the picture of the item shows it with a low profile bracket attached, and all info I could find on HP's website state that the packaging includes a low profile bracket.I specifically bought these to put into a bunch of HP microservers based on a previous reviewer comments that he was using these in one of his servers. As it stands these are now totally useless to me unless I completely remove the backing plate and since these are going into servers that is not good enough.Product Documentation on HP's website : [...]The local supplier contacted Amazon who stated that they receive these as is from a 3rd party supplier.If you are going to buy these to put into low profile servers, rather look for something else and don't waste your money.Extremely disappointed and won't be importing anything from Amazon anymore. :(

I ordered these for 2 new HP Microservers. After seeing the complaints about the brackets, I used the Amazon "contact seller" option to make a "customer customization request". I asked for the LP brackets and the seller responded within the hour saying "yes, i can ship with lp brackets no problem."Cards arrived today with the LP brackets installed.For the price, I got what I paid for and then some.

They put a heatsink on this thing for a good reason. I don't think I've ever installed a network adapter that gets as hot as this thing does. You can burn your fingers, it gets that hot. I'm actually looking around my old parts for a bigger heatsink I could put on it.This adapter supports a variety of protocols and options, however, you will have to find the documentation and research configuration options on your own. The documentation is available at HP's website, but it is somewhat incomplete. This adapter is meant for servers, but it works fine on my X58 based motherboard. The drivers support 802.3ad (a link aggregation protocol for binding multiple ports), so if you have a managed gigabit switch, you should have little trouble utilizing both ports.The adapter arrived in a box by itself. No documentation or driver disc, but most likely if you're buying this thing you already have some idea what you doing and know where to go. The adapter appears to be a surplus replacement part or from of some kind of bulk inventory.

Since this is sold as new I don't understand why it only comes with regular bracket. According the HP site for this NIC it should come with a low profile bracket as well.[...] (check whats in the box tab on the page)As mentioned by another reviewer I bought this for microserver but I can't install unless I can find a low profile bracket on ebay perhaps.The picture is misleading not showing the actual product picture. Amazon should correct it.

This is an excellent NIC and works perfectly with VMware ESXi 5.1.If you are looking for a good, fairly priced, dual NIC to put into an ESXi build, I highly recommend this one.

I put this card in a HP Micro Server with VMWare ESXi 4.1 and worked perfectly both ports detected as NICS. Instel? esta tarjeta en un servidor HP MIcro Server, para ser utilizado en virtualizaci?n y fue detectada sin problemas, ambos puertos.

Let me say that you will never find these features in a server network adapter anywhere else. I can honestly say that I've never purchased an ethernet card that claims a nonstick interior or an audible tone. I'm not normally one to judge people's diets, but I can only assume that the toast, salmon fillets, etc are sized per the people that create the serving sizes for cookies, potato chips, etc. (Freaking TINY portions). I've never considered the need to fit a 9" pizza on a network card, but it's nice to know that I could... (Though it would presumably only be supported for a 2.5" band across it's diameter...)
