I'll keep it short.
PROS:
-Prints at a good speed and good and easy Printing. Get many pages from one Cartridge.
-Good for printing a huge pdf at once.
Cons:
-Wi-Fi range is a line of sight. If Laptop in another room it would take a long time to get the information of data to print.
- Blacks are not deep black, even if it's not on Eco mode.
- I have a dual router at home that is 5Ghz and 2.4 GHz for my internet. So when you using this on wifi, the printer will only connect to the 2ghz one. So you have to disconnect the internet on your device and connect to the Printer wifi and then print.
- Printing on wifi is a SLOW process. The times I needed to print something quick its never been able to just work.
If you using only for USB or cable only then it might be good.
- The scanner has been getting some black staining inside which doesn't reproduce the best quality scans.
In short, this is the last time I am purchasing HP as a printer brand.
The Fact that to print 1 page I have to go through so much, doesn't classify this a friendly printer at all.
pros:
1.quality printing.
2. comfortable weight and build.
3.easy installation.
4. wireless printing, mine is from iphone. hassle free connecting also from laptop and desktop.
cons:
1. display of details in the panel needs a torch pointed at it. should have had a better display.
2. should have had a dust cover.
Overall a great printer
So m confused between laser black and white or inktank colour ,but after going through various reviews online pushes me to buy laser printer ,black and white and i dont have much requirememt for colour printing ,so initial cost for this printer is some what higher then both other competitors but the maintainance cost is less as said overall ,so finally choose this one ,those who want to use colour printing photos prinitng can go with inktank also its printing cost is lesser then inkjet ,
This is initial review will edit up after some more usage ,till now happy with my product ,as it has wifi connectivity ,also have scanning option ,and moreover easy to installl urself ,
One kore thing want to add on this review for newbies like me u have to install urself no demo will be provided so go through material provided ,and thanks for making my review usefull ,enjoy
I would like to tell you how to install printer through wireless at home
1. Unbox your product and remove cartridge inserted in the printer
2. Remove paper strip and a plastic cap from cartridge. Insert cartridge into the printer
3. Keep your WiFi switched on and power on the printer. Do not connect printer to computer through usb cable
4. On printer console switch on the WiFi switch. (There will be a WiFi icon on the button)
5. On printer LED display you will see "searching for WPS". Your WiFi has WPS switch so switch it on.
6. Printer will be connected through WiFi and an address will be displayed on printer LED.
7. Insert your CD in the computer and do as directed. When it asks for Mode of connection then choose wireless instead of usb cable.
8. Your computer will automatically detect printer then go next.
9. After few minutes your printer will be ready
Any device (mobile, laptop) connected with your wifi can operate your printer.
My Quick Find outs are - stars:
1. Good Toners effectively accessible at just shy of 500 INR on Amazon so no stress over printing cost.
2. WiFi arrangement and remote printing is very simple (by telephone or workstations)
3. Utilizing it as system printer atm (by LAN port in my little office)
4. Print quality is wonderful 5/5 for that
5. Photograph Copy/Xerox are so fine, get befuddled which one is unique in the event that I duplicate (if duplicate b/w)
6. Examining quality is pleasant as well.
Cons:
A few interesting points before purchasing this printer:
1. Incapable to duplicate/examine huge size of papers (legitimate size)
2. No backlight in computerized show screen
Providing FEEDBACK to HP is also to no avail. They are not proactive and have not ever bothered to check back with the customer based on feedback. DISAPPOINTED with HP service and support.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY THIS PRINTER. If you do, please do so at your own risk.
Print quality is good. Only One page at a time can be scanned. this is a limitation.
After a few pages , the print has become very light.
Noway could the cartridge be over so soon.
Has been very difficult to get in touch with hp service centre.
No idea what to do. The 1800 number on Amazon is not working.. will have to go to local printer guy cause of no transparency in customer service.
1. It does not easily install drivers on computer.
2. It does not connect easily to wifi for printing.
3. It does not easily create a wifi hotspot to connect to for printing.
The printing part if fine. There are not enough options for formatting what you have to print. It's all very basic printing.
I would not recommend.
Now let jump straight to the product: Once you set your mind to purchase this model make sure you have good eye sight bc it doesn't have any light on screen which may affect your experience after purchase just like me. I didn't expect letters are such small so it's hard to see. Printing quality is moderate, have better experience with model M1136(very very satisfied, after 7 years and still running like a mad horse) which will save your 3k easily. Configuration of Wireless connection is really headache however somehow managed(you need seperate router), connection with smartphone: Haaaa!! I still wondering how it works, your phone could find the wifi of printer and ask for security password...but here is a twist..there is no password anywhere mentioned. You have to be Sherlock Holmes to find wifi password. Gist: Do not waste your hard earnings and go for Laserjet M1136 if you dnt need wireless printer and spend that extra 3k for poor old beggers or stray/injured animals through funding. BTW money is yours do whatever you want to do..
The setup installation I installed from website since CD setup was showing error.
Normal setup via USB was okay to setup. But I struggled a lot in setting up wifi...Gone through many YouTube videos for the same..Its working good now..
Pros:
Scan, copy,print in one device
Wireless option available.
Cons:
Device little heavy.
Setup installation was difficult.
Slightly pricey than other devices.
Hopefully all should be worth it.
Reducing one star due to setup installation.
Works as expected.
Wireless printing is supported on multiple platforms. Android, IOS and Windows.
The HP smart app is really great.
HP e-print service seems really helpful when not around the printer.
Cons:
Prints, especially the copies can lack contrast. A quick change in contrast settings should fix that immediately.
The display has no back-light. Hard to see if the display isn't close (+- 30cms) to eye-level or when in dimly lit areas.
Printing Quality is good. Easy to use and there is no need of a technician for initial setup.
The only disadvantage that I found was it's toner cartridge and display. Refilling the toner cartridge is disgusting. Display is same as Calculator displays. I don't recommend this printer.
You can easily setup Wi-Fi on this and can print through your phone or even laptop, although the printing takes some time.
Bought it for 13.4k, which I feel is a bit expensive but the scanning and variety of options compensates that.
Does take some time to start up and start printing, not that fast if you were thinking.
Got around 400-450 pages from the starting cartridge and bought a new one for 800.
The Hp Smart app for phone doesn't work that quite well, faces issues like it couldn't scan or copy from the app, the printing was fine though.
Pros: I) Excellent print quality. ii) Scan/ copy quality is also very good. iii) sound less. Wi-fi is an added advantage. iv) comes with original packing. v) Amazon delivery is very fast, I received it within 1 day.
cons: I) price tag is little higher side ii) display is not LED illuminated, difficult to view without proper lighting condition of the room. iii) Printer cartridge which comes with the printer, does not come with full toner, exhausts very fast. iv) should have come with auto reverse printing in this price tag.
However i do like to mention some pros and cons for this printer...
* Pros-
1. It has great print quality.
2. Wi-Fi is hussle free just connect with Android app.
3. Easy Menu buttons i.e Photocopy,Scan,Double-Side Print etc.
*Cons-
1. Scanner is not upto the mark, having price range of 15K should have given some quality scanner.
2. Backlit Issue, Yes there is no backlit on screen provided on menu buttons.
3. Software/Drivers provided by them with the printer might be bit outdated so you will have to manually download the latest version of the software.
My printer is setup on the wifi and print from all the devices works just perfect.
Sometimes it doesn't print & you have to troubleshoot the program for printing.. not recommend for hig usage such as 700 print per month... Barcode not printing in .rpt files.
It takes 5 second pause to print next print out.
Also it misses some of the printouts in between and blank pages are in between .
Also after the prinout is complete it again starts to print out the same command again
Wi-Fi is easily auto connect from Android device after first time setup.
Print quality is super & also adjust the quality of print to save the toner from short time of changing toner.
Scanner size is support up to A4 sheet only.
I got this for Rs. 13500/- during Offer days.
Only thing is the backlight of menu option is not available and not visible in night time, but the menu controller is tilt 90° to 150° to easily visible the text in menu controller.
In doing some online research after I ordered it, I found several negative reviews on HP Laser Printers, mostly concerning set-up problems and the affordability of toner. While I waited for the machine to be delivered, I bit my nails a bit wondering if I'd made a mistake. It turns out I did, and I didn't. I was a bit worried about the size of the machine, since I wanted to place it on my desk near my desktop computer, and it looked pretty big on the product page. But it turned out to be only slightly larger than my old Inkjet printer, so it fit fine.
The set-up was a nightmare from the beginning. Following the set-up instructions, I attempted to set the printer up by myself from my PC, by downloading the set-up software from the HP website, and using just the software instructions. The software refused to recognize the printer at first, even after I went into the control panel on the machine and followed the instructions from the downloaded software. I tried this for several frustrating minutes, made more difficult by the fact that the commands I was seeing in the control panel did not match what I was seeing on my computer in the instructions. Finally, after doing a reset on the control panel and making several attempts, I successfully got the software to recognize the printer. That part alone took the better part of twenty minutes.
While the software was setting up the printer, the process took a great deal longer than I expected it to, and at more than one point the set-up on my computer screen froze. This was confusing and a little nerve wracking, because at one point the set-up said, "This will take a while" and then counted out the minutes before that step would be complete. But, a bit later, one process of the set-up gave no such indication that it would "take a while", nor did it count off the minutes remaining, and the process at that point "froze" for an extremely long time. I hate when set-up programs do that.
Finally, after an unacceptable total time almost two hours, the software said, "You have successfully set-up your printer". The software said that the setup program would make the new M283fdw the Default Printer on my computer. That didn't happen and I had to manually (through my computer's settings / control panel) make the new machine the default.
However, after all the set-up glitches, I have to say that, performance-wise, this is a great printer. With some reservations.
When printing a number of pages, the printer is very quiet and produces the pages very rapidly, more rapidly than I've ever seen in any other printer, including the professional printers I've used in the office. That is, once it starts printing. Annoyingly, when you hit the print button on your computer (in this example a Microsoft Word document) it flashes "Connecting To Printer" for 3-4 seconds before the print settings screen comes up. Then, after you've adjusted the print settings (if necessary) it flashes "Connecting To Printer" again for another 3-4 seconds. Then it starts to print.
I had to get used to the default "print on both sides" setting; that is, the default print setting is to print on both sides of the paper. This is, of course, no problem if you're just printing one page, but if you have two or more pages and want to print on only one side, you must remember to adjust it. I rather like two-sided default, because usually when I print multiple pages I want to print on both sides.
The printer has two paper trays; tray one is a single page feeder at the bottom of the machine, just above tray two, which is at the very bottom of the front of the machine. The single page feeder is great for printing envelopes quickly because you don't need to remove the tray and fiddle with the size guides; you just need to adjust the paper width guide at the opening. The second tray - the one that pulls out at the very bottom of the machine - holds a generous amount of paper – I estimate more than a quarter ream.
There is also a document feeder on top of the scanner screen. With this you can load a single document to be scanned without opening the scanner.
As mentioned earlier, one drawback is the extremely difficult set-up. I am a fairly computer literate person. While not an expert, my experience with computers and my grasp of program logic makes me a better-then-average user. And if I had difficulty setting up this printer, I'm sure than there are many people who will not be able to set it up at all without assistance. But the second drawback, and the greatest reason for my Three Star rating, is the maintenance cost.
After I got it set up, I went to the HP Store and Amazon to price the toner cartridges. The prices were the same at HP and Amazon. The printer uses four cartridges, just like most Inkjet Printers. There is a choice between regular toner cartridges and high capacity toner cartridges. The high capacity cartridges print about 74% more pages but cost about 40% more than the regular cartridges. The shocker was that the retail price of the set of four regular cartridges costs a whopping 64% of the posted price of the printer itself and the high capacity set costs 88% of the price of the machine. That is expensive. Now, I realize that the cartridges for a laser printer should far outlast the cartridges for an Inkjet printer, but that doesn't do much to reduce the sticker-shock in my book. I have a friend who has a laser printer made by a rival of HP, who tells me his toner cartridges cost about 60% of the price for the toner for this machine. When we're talking about a total in the hundreds of dollars, that's quite a difference.
So, this machine is pretty good, but difficult to set up and expensive to maintain. Therefore, I do recommend it, but with reservations. I rate it Five Stars for performance, minus Half a Star for ease of set-up and minus One and a Half Stars for maintenance price. My total rating is Three Stars.
,just dont buy this, not logical to buy 4-5k cartridge after every 700-800pages print.
GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY.
Set up was minimal from start to finish. No network connection problems; smooth integration into our existing bluetooth network.
Print quality: Standard B/W printing is pristine. Color brochure printing is professional grade. Photo printing is more than satisfactory with careful application using the correct, HP recommended papers.
All total, we are SO very satisfied and glad to have made the switch from inkjet to laser!!!
I am very unsatisfied in this section. Actually I am surprised thinking "how a tech company like HP miss this kind of tiny things".
...
In my words......."You have been provided good food acording to your budget but you have to eat in DARK"
Haha...
UPDATE: So today I spoke to my 3rd HP rep who, after over an hour, suggested I return the printer. I processed the return through Amazon, and was given the choice to speak with an Amazon representative who could assist with getting the printer to work. That Amazon person reached out to HP who told them it's defective. Soooo now I have to pack it up and return it. The Amazon rep said they would send UPS to pick it up the next business day. Since the box is in pieces (I had to cut it to get the printer out) I asked the rep if he could make it 2 business days. He said no and we agreed that I don't have to pack it up... I can leave all the different pieces for UPS to pick up and ship however they want.
Toner come along with the printer is used one. It list only for 400 pages.
If you want to buy new toner, it cost around 5000 rs and it gives only 1500 pages.
To costly to print.
I didn't recommend this printer.
Worst customer care service.
Compared to this taking prints from out side is more economical.
