Loving this complex device!
I am loving this printer! I read an earlier review that talked about how long it took to setup. Yes, it does take awhile! But, it's a multifunction device. You need to configure the network, wired, wireless, and fax. You need to register it with HP. You need to establish a connection for your printer's email address, and customize it. You need to install the current HP software. You need to test everything once it's installed and setup.
But, once you do. You've got a fast, quiet, high quality device. I think it was worth it! Very happy!

I’d buy this again if i needed another one.
Great printer, the only thing i don’t like is how small the touch screen is. Very easy set up and prints great copies. The paper drawer is a bit small but it works. I think it’s worth the extra money.

Poor WiFi , print shadowing, paper tray settings do not work, terrible choice
We replaced a Office Jet Pro 8710 that had stopped powering up. We attempted to get HP assistance, but got COVID shut-out. We needed a printer for e-learning, so purchased this printer, based on speed and reviews. Well, it was terrible out of the box. It keeps losing WiFi connection to the point that I had to go out and buy a printer cable so I could ATTEMPT to print. Next issue-although I clearly have saved tray 2 as the default, the printer ALWAYS attempts to pull paper from tray one (manual feed source). This means I have to sit by the printer for the entire print job to periodically remind it to take paper from tray 2 (which is saved as the default). Third issue-when the printer DOES decide to print, there is light text shadowing. The text printed at the top of the page is also printed lightly about 4 inches lower. Fourth issue-every now and then, when the printer decides to print, I get a bunch of gibberish characters all-of-a-sudden in the middle of my print job.
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER. Unfortunately, we kept it too long in trying to troubleshoot it, and now cannot return it. Looks like we are sucking up this purchase price and switching to Epson. I have heard you don't need to dig into your savings account to buy ink with Epson also (we'll see).

Cannot get Scanner to function as required
All was good except the scanner not function properly. This is without a doubt the slowest most temperamental scanner function that I have ever tried to use. More often than not it takes two or three tries to get the scanner to send the documents to the software on the computer. It is wired to the router

Works great when it works.
It prints good when it works. My wife complains that sometimes it skips pages when printing. The con with this printer is on WiFi it drops signal. I’m not sure if it’s my network or what but it’s a pain in the butt to get it working again. I ended up having the printer connected directly (wired) to one of my WiFi satellites. After doing that it sort of worked better. Still had to delete printers off Win10 and reinstall it. I have another HP inkjet printer on WiFi and I have no problems with it staying connected. That’s overall the biggest con with this printer.

Unfortunately, the printer network connections drop fairly frequently, making the printer useless. It’s unbelievably frustrating.
I have spent several hours working through HP’s support, eventually realizing that their recommendation is to power-off all devices. This means that I have to turn off all the computers in the house, the router, the printer, etc.
It’s an understatement to say that it’s inconvenient.

Easy installation Fast printer M283fdw
Not sure why some reviews say it is not easy to install. This is the model I bought M283fdw and installed the software in 2 laptops (new and old); I follow all the recommended settings from the software and subscribe in the HP page and have no issues at all. Install it really quick, easy and fast. The printer is a very high quality as well and prints super fast. I am so happy!!!

Perfect All-in-one for Home
I purchased this HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw to replace an older model HP CM1312nfi. This one takes up less space, and prints faster and quieter than the old one while still allowing fax, scan and copy features. It also does duplexing, which I like. The old one did not. I was able to print to either of them with my Android phone, but not with my iPad. The new one supports Apple's AirPrint, which the old one did not. Setup was very easy using the HP Smart App.
At the time I purchased this product, after-market toners were not available with the micro-chip included, which may require jumping through some extra hoops to make non-HP toners compatible if I decide not to buy HP toners in the future. If HP toner prices will dissuade you from purchasing the printer, you may want to check with after-market toner suppliers to see if theirs come with the microchip included before making the purchase.

Not compatible with Mac computer
Not until after I had set-up the printer and thrown away the box did I discover that the printer does not recognize Mac computers/laptops. Worse, customer service, does not exist. All answers to questions are automated and nowhere is there an automated response to the question of why the Mac computer and printer are not compatible. Having even a chat available would have lessened my ire. Instead I was left to swear under my breath on repeated attempts to reach a live person.
Descriptions of this printer should begin with the disclaimer that it cannot be used with Mac computer/laptops. Even the cable sent with the printer is not compatible with a Mac.
The description says the default setting is two-sided, but so far it has only printed one sided.
The print quality is fine.
I need a printer that can remote print by wifi.

HP NOT SO GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE
The product is great when it is working, but the customer service was not so good.
What do i mean? I bought a brand new printer which came out to almost $500, and it was defective, turned off after a few days and could not get it restarted. after speaking with HP customer support they told me to unplug for 5 minutes and see if it will restart, To my surprise it did. great! but after a few more days it went off again. and I did the same thing and it turned on again, then it turned off again. decided to return only to receive a Refurbished one.
What's wrong with this picture? I bought a brand new printer now I have a Used one that just arrived today. I wonder how long this one will last. To be continued.

Love it!
Bought this to replace my inkjet printer. I've been using it pretty heavy these first 5 days we have had it, printing jobs from my computer, copying from the glass and using the document feed for an individual sheet and multiple sheets. I've scanned pages and found it very intuitive and loved that I could direct where I wanted it saved.

The performance is fantastic. Although I read in other comments it does not print photos well at all. Since I don’t print photos it’s perfect for me and my small business at home.

Great Printer, Easy Setup
dont know what others are complaining about, setup was quick and easy for me. maybe they have updated the install software. 1 thing, wasnt odvious how to sw connect over usb, works great over wi fi. also if do Full sw install, comes w OCR sw. Print quality great, not too noisy, etc etc

Great Little Printer
Pleasantly surprised how much smaller it is than our old unit. Great color, full duplex printing, the whole house uses this like crazy. Kind of loud so I would not want to sit next to it, and the paper tray is smallish. But happy with this after the first couple months

Excellent quality at a reasonable cost to operate.
This family of HP Laser printers are excellent for an individual or small office. Setup on Windows 10 is entirely automatic and very quick. The toner cartridges are already installed and ready to go. We have used several of these over the last eight years, and they are all still running great. The print quality does not change as the years and pages go by. The cost of operation is very reasonable even using HP toners.

Took a chance and am glad I did!
I’m the type that normally reads reviews before purchasing products. I was reading them on this printer and almost didn’t order. I’m glad I took a chance. It was easy to install. I haven’t ran into any problems. I use it to print waterslides to put onto custom tumblers that I make.

Great quality printer!
I was looking for a smaller, desktop printer to replace a behemoth office-style printer in our church office. I did quite a bit of research and I’m so glad I chose this. It is very simple to set up, instructions are clear. Printing is quick and the quality is superb. The printer doesn’t take up a lot of space, which I also appreciate. I’d highly recommend to anyone in either a small office or for at-home use.

Major Issue is the Initial Wireless Setup
The problem with this printer is getting it to work in the first place. It is NOT plug and play and its ridiculous how much time one has to take to get it working on a wireless network. Not sure its worth the money paid for the crazy amount of time it takes to get it working.

Misleading Feature
I really like this printer except for one thing--it doesn't really scan two-sided docs. They say it does but nope. You basically scan one side and then have to take the paper out, flip it over and scan again. The software organizes it, but feel it is dishonest of HP to say this. Further, I HATE having to use HP software rather than the standard print/scan functionality on my Mac. I don't know why HP insists on trying to make you use their mediocre software.

Not up to the Expectation
Regret to buy this Printer. There is no background light in the display. Very difficult to see what is being displayed. Print quality & Copy quality is worse than the HP Inkjet printer which I have been using. Duplex printing is not working. Since I started using the printer after the expiry of the return window, I could not return the product.

Good printer very costly toner cartridge
Nice printer overall, easy to install and use. Print quality awesome too.
The downside is their business model of fleecing money with ink toners, hp cartridge costs around 4500 when outside cartridges cost around 500, it's ok to have 20 or 30% markup but 900% feels like robbery.

I don't recommend if looking for a best:Check the reveiw .
It has been 20 days since I have bought this printer.
Over all print quality is OK .
The quality of the print of colors like blue (light) is very bad in the grey scale ,it is printed very lightly .Not checked with all the colors .
Scan quality is good .
Support from hp is also great .
16k I expect the printer to be better...
Go for a better one .
Or if your print job is frequent,go for a inkjet printer color .

not serves wifi purpose efficient.
Although it is printing nicely, but main purpose of printing directly from mobile does not serve. U always should have a wifi router between ur mobile and printer. Second thing cartridge given in this printer does not print as many copies as much as 1120 prints,small cartridge cimpare to that printer. Setting up of wifi with router is also not easy.
