I have had this printer for about 3 months now and have already had to buy a $175 drum and countless toner cartridges. And I don't print anywhere near the maximum output of 30,000 pages per month. I might do 2500 a month. Yes the printer is cheap and prints high quality, but it isn't worth all the extra costs associated with it. And it is very slow if any type of complex document is sent to the printer, VERY SLOW. To upgrade the memory from HP is $500. If I had it to do over I would not have chosen this printer.

Great improvement over HP's 2500 and 3500 series. Print quality is excellent. Color output is banding free and vibrant, B & W is as good as it gets. Postscript, expandable memory and not being host based are all good things. Macintosh compatibility is excellent in OS X. Printer is very acceptable in terms of noise. Its fast enough for a single user who needs to get quick copy in under a minute. Doing the math, thanks to the high yield toner carts (6000 pgs), cost per page is highly competitive against just about everybody. Very nice build quality! What's not to like? Minor gripes include, USB is only 1.1 and not 2.0. Status display panel should be backlit. Duplex feature can't be added later. Pretty LARGE for a personal class printer.

I bought one of these and packed it up to return tonight. There is no paper tray. The only way to feed paper is by opening the front door and sticking in sheets of paper. Then they hang out the front. The paper tray is an option that no one has in stock. I am going to swap for a 2550N. It comes with the tray and is supposed to be networkable.Bob

I purchased the printer with a lot of excitement about owning my own color laser printer. As a small business owner who sends out proposals almost daily, it would have a significant increase in the presentaion of the proposals. What I didn't expect when I purchased this was that the print quality would be surpassed by my $150 inkjet printer. I printed out 5 different proposals on this. The quality was so poor I decided to print 2 more on my cheap Epson inkjet. The quality on the Epson far surpassed the HP. I had to pack this up and return it. I could not legitimze spending money on an inferior printer. Also, when you buy the 1500L instead of the 1500, you don't have an actual paper tray. You have to keep the box open and slide paper in sideways so it stick out the front at an angle. This is both unattractive and annoying on a desk. Overall, this is a surprisingly poor printer from a company I normally have some faith in. This printer got an excellent review on a trusted site, but they must have a different opinion of quality than I. One good thing; it does print very fast, it just prints in really poor quality.

Pros:- Easy to install. Expandable memory.- Print quality is excellent.- Fast and quiet for an economy color laser.- Prints excellent color photos much cheaper than inkjet.Cons:- Be ready for size shock, it's big.

this printer fails to perform as expes.ected. Its quality is not as good as my inkjet but for the price of this printer you'd expect more. HP has gone down the tub
