Needed an additional monitor to move to dual monitor processing. This was a perfect match with my HP system. The only down side was there was no DVI cable that came with this monitor.

I read many reviews for this and other monitors. I decided on the HP215M 21.5 inch HD LCD Monitor and have not regretted it. The delivery was quick, and the setup was truly plug and play. After a month the brightness and clarity of the screen still amazes me. I would purchase it again if I needed another screen. I am looking forward to splitting the view so I can have 2 programs open on the screen side-by-side.

I paid more for this monitor because I had to have it the same day, having gone to work one morning to find my other monitor completely dead. I WISH I could have ordered from Amazon, because no one else seems to offer the $30 rebate!I studied the reviews here on Amazon and decided on a Gateway monitor with the rotating screen. No stores had it. The salesperson where I bought the HP said you had to go to 24" to get the rotating screen. As soon as I pulled mine out of the box and saw the double-hinged stand, I knew this one would rotate, too. Yay!The reason I chose the HP -- besides it matched my HP Media Center Tower (not really my main reason, but a factor) -- is that of all the glossy screen monitors I looked at with the same refresh rate and resolution, the HP was th ONLY one with a height-adjustable stand. All the others had tilt only. As I thought it through, I realized I had adjusted the height of my chair and keyboard to match my old monitor, because it wouldn't adjust to me--only trouble was that left me touching the floor with my tiptoes all day long.When I first started using it, I was disturbed that black text on white wavered between black and green. I'd failed to double check the front panel pushbutton settings after finishing the physical desk placement. To change between movie | photo | gaming | text | custom, you push one button (marked with a + sign) to bring up the choices, and push it again to change your choice. Then push the Select button to set the choice. Now it's perfect, and I remembered to change it when watching video clips. You don't have to, but you get even better quality by setting it for what you're doing.The wide screen is fantastic in business. You can see your Quickbooks check register and reconciliation sheets side by side! Copy from one doc to another in full size. Refer to one website in full size while researching something on another.Very good value for the money.PS: The negative point I read over and over about the Gateway monitor I first chose was that it had only a 1-year warranty. Well, so does this one! I purchased two more years because I need a monitor all day every day.

I have been browsing for well over 9 months for a monitor to replace the HUGE 19 inch CRT monitor I was using for my business as a professional photographer. After deciding that I could not afford a monitor that cost twelve hundred dollars I looked for alternatives. I was shocked and surprised that out of all the so call professional brand monitors and consumer monitors that this monitor had the best net wide reviews. (excluding the super expensive ones). For just over $300 I decided it was worth the risk.I am NOT disappointed. When I took it out of the box I was shocked at the lack of packing. It had formed fitted Styrofoam at top and bottom but nothing in between other than a thin piece of card stock over the monitor to protect from scratches. It's footprint is so much smaller than the old CRT monitors I have had. I gained almost 8x22 inches of desk space.Setup was easy to plug in. Right now my current video card does not have dvi (next upgrade on the list) so I hooked up the monitor via VGA. Once I installed the included drivers and tweaked the video card output the aspect radio was perfect.Windows XP does have a problem with background stretching for this monitor. You may want to make a custom background to make it look right. I ran HUEY a color calibrator and it is just as good if not better than my CRT. MUCH MUCH cooler in temp and the space saved it wonderful.I have edited a few portrait sessions and have had really good results. I am looking forward to album layout with this monitor. Having a two page fit completely on the screen at 75% instead of 10% is going to make a huge difference.The monitor does have a slight amount of washout on the right hand side that I noticed during calibration. It does not hinder my editing at all. I believe it is from the lighted power button on the top of the monitor. I don't notice it at all unless I am calibrating blacks.If you are into photography and you are on a limited budget. This is the monitor for you as of this moment. That may change over time but for now and for just over $300. This, in my opinion, is the best.

I bought this monitor as a second monitor for my computer. I already have a Samsung 22" and was about to buy another one but when I saw the price of this monitor, I thought I would try it out.I have to say this monitor is fantastic. The picture is clear and sharp. And the best part is that I have my cable box HDMI output to go into HDMI input of this monitor through a switcher. So now I can switch between cable TV and my second monitor without any trouble, and since the input is HDMI, I get sound too without any additional setup.

I have had my share of computers and monitors and the HP w2207 is by far the best monitor I have ever owned. The clarity is awesome, pictures and videos are displayed in vivid detail and color spectrum is just awe inspiring. There are multiple settings but I have never touched them, right out of the box this monitor set its self up, just turn it on and go! The added bonus of a two socket USB hub on the side of the monitor just adds to its great functionality and style. Just plug it in to your computer and now your ready to plug in any USB device on your desk without the wires running everywhere. Plus it has built in speakers but I like my volume turned way up some times and my desktop speakers and sub-woofer complete my system where in my opinion monitor speakers never really quite cut the mustard. This is really a great monitor and one of the best for this kind of money. If you are thinking or double thinking this monitor, just buy it and try it, you'll love it guaranteed!

I owned the HP 2007 20" monitor and bought this monitor to be used as a second monitor. It's good, it works, but the picture is not as sharp as the 2007 model. Also they lowered the resolution which caused me some problems. The screen isn't 20" from corner to corner either, more like 18.5. It's a good monitor for the price, but if you are used to an earlier version you may be disappointed.

I have a larger Samsung screen that has better specs than this one but I like this one better in several ways. The images are crystal clear and have a depth my other screen does not. It was also half the price. I highly recommend the HP 2009M.

I have always had good luck with HP products. Their 20" LCD monitor with 1600 x 900 pixels has cleared up my desk space and provided me with a clear wide display. Priced at $149 it is a bargain. Love it.

I held off on this monitor because I couldn't really tell how it would compare against some of the other good deals out there. Well, I think that this monitor compares quite favorably to my 4:3 LCD monitors from Viewsonic, Hanns-G and Samsung. A little adjustment to the settings and colors pop off the screen. Blacks are very black. Grays are gray and not color tinted. The glossy screen finish is not a problem with reflections for me in a sunny room. I use my own settings, not the 5 optimized presets for movies, photo, text, etc. Nor did I load the HP software. Just downloaded the latest drivers before connection and XP did the rest. I am using the included DVI cable. Backlight bleed is minimal, only around the edges, and not a problem for me.Love the deluxe stand and USB ports. Not using speakers. Very much enjoyed watching a DVD with my Surround Sound.The only negative is that there is a limited vertical viewing angle. Contrast changes as you move out of the sweet spot. This may be why one of the other posters noted a difference between the top and bottom of the screen. If I get close enough to the screen to where there is a difference in viewing angle from top of the screen to bottom of the screen, (about 15"), I could notice some difference on a gray scale test pattern. I know that it is caused by viewing angle because the gray density changes as I move my head. This is not a problem, or even noticeable), for most PC applications. If you run it as a TV and view from different vertical angles or move around the room, you may find it noticeable.Overall, this is a minor issue to me. The Vivid Colors and sharp images more than make up for vertical viewing angle. I think that this is the best monitor I own. I gave 5 stars.

This monitor has a great picture and works flawlessly with my MacBook. The 16:9 aspect is perfect for watching DVDs and hulu.com. The design is slick and modern, and the glossy screen is vibrant. For under $150.00 how can you go wrong?The built in speakers are a little quiet, but better than my notebook's built in speakers.When connecting with a Mac, I recommend turning the monitor's auto sleep function off, as it would sleep before I could get my Mac to output video.

This LCD monitor is just what the doctor ordered...the screen is bright, crisp and just simply good....the glossy screen is just what I have been looking for to render good color saturation.....I would recommend it highly!!Update: March 31, 2010I bought another unit of the LCD and it just died suddenly....while it maybe a nice monitor...the quality may have to be questioned....it just stopped working in less than 2 weeks of use....this is BAD!!!

The image and color is great on this screen. The size was alot bigger than I expected. It has taken a bit of getting use to, but now I really enjoy it. The sound is a bit weak on the speakers, but overall I really like this product

I wasn't sure about getting a widescreen monitor at first but I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. The monitor was just as described on the website and I am so happy with it. I would recommend this product for anyone. We opened the box and set it up, no problems. I believe it even got here a little ahead of schedule.

I purchased this monitor to go with my MacPro 15" laptop. Because of all the great Amazon reviews, I was all ready to buy a Samsung for about $100 more, but when I saw how crisp and clear my boss's HP display was I changed my mind and purchased the HP L2208w. I love it! The color is a little cooler than my laptop display but it's totally adjustable through the Monitor>Color>Calibration>Advanced control panel. The display is crisp with full color and saturation ranges and nice deep blacks for photograph editing. It took about 3 minutes to get it out of the box, plugged in and in use. At first I used it in duel monitor mode with my laptop but now, most of the time I just leave my laptop closed and use the HP as my sole monitor. It coordinates nicely with my laptop and Apple keyboard too. The only thing I don't like about it is the adjustment controls. I can't actually see any labels or icons on them to give a clue what does what, though I think they are there, they're so faint I can't see them. That said, there are an ABUNDANCE of adjustments you can make, everything you can thing of, and if you click around enough, you'll eventually get it exactly where you want it. It's a really great monitor at a fantastic price and I couldn't be happier with it.

This is a great monitor. I can't believe how crips the color is compared to my other older monitors. I don't use the speakers so can't speak to them, but this is so much easier on my eyes that I actually bought a second I wasn't planning on buying.

Every time I bought something from amazon, I expect good things and good quality. This time was not the exception. I liked the monitor, and it has a really nice image. I watch netflix and HULU movies/tv shows, and it is just great.

The picture is sharp and crisp with great color. The menu options make it very easy to tailor the display for different functions. All things considered, I found this to be one of the best values for the price available.
