Awesome Product
What can I say about a product that is know know for it's superiority. I can say that this filter is one of the best on that market. As a vlogger I need a good variable density. I bought a cheap one but the image was muddy and garbage. Ever since I started using my Hoya I have been nothing but pleased.

I didn’t do my research
I bought this because a friend had one. After doing more research online, I found out that there are better ND filters out there. YouTube Gerald Undone’s review of ND filters, you’ll find something you like.

It’s ok, with limitations
Nice having the ability to have just one ND filter and being able to adjust it. However, it does add a bit of a color cast to your images. Make sure to take a picture of a gray card to be able to adjust the color in post. Also be careful not to turn it too much, or you can end up having a dark X in your image. Its ok for lower ND filters, but for darker ND, you’ll need to just get the single ND filters.

I bought this variable ND filter strictly for daylight video purposes. In an effort to keep the 180' rule, this allows you to achieve proper exposure even in harsh sunlight.
I have also used it for some photos and I find that there are some odd vignette areas that show up on it. I think for photos, you would be better off buying individual stop filters to achieve an even look across your images.

the only problem Is that the step between the highest is to narrow with the lowest and making a seen as a chess board easily. but what that matters for me is that it is working and colors are good enough to get 5 stars

Great Variable UD filter
I have this on my sigma 18-35mm 1.8 lens and the quality is excellent. No threading issues and you get about 8-9 stops down. Beware if you take it to the minimum like 1 or 2 you will get an X on your image. Other than that Hoya makes solid stuff. I would recommend this.

Lot of discussion wether you need one or not now days, what with all the lens coatings etc. I like them as a safety against scratched lens glass, yes they help, but if your using Polarized, effects, graduation filters etc you might not need one.
The choice is yours. This particular one fitted the bill for me at the right price.

I took this ND filter on a waterfall shoot and ...
I took this ND filter on a waterfall shoot and it functioned perfectly on my 17-85 mm. I stayed within the marked parameters and, upon reviewing my images on a 24" monitor saw very clear images. No checking at the more open end nor an big black X at the closed down end. The images were clear and well focused. This filter has a permanent place in my camra bag.

I purchased this for one purpose and that was to protect the lens on my Nikon d3400. I used the camera for a few months with no filter and was worried i may damage the main lens. Without the filter the photos are amazing. I have not yet tried the camera with the filter on so hope the picture quality is as good or I will have to use the filter in places where damage could occur, example the coast, and take it off elsewhere.

Works well
While I've only used it about 8-10 times, I've gotten very good results. I primarily use it on a Fujifilm 58mm lens, with the adaptor. Using a slightly larger VD filter reduces any flaring or vignetting. I'll probably end up purchasing a more expensive VD filter setup as my landscape photography prowess increases. But for the time being, it's a very good lens for the money.

A really brilliant UV filter that is slimline and does the job. Most photographers use these as lens protectors ensure the original glass doesn't get dusty - or worse - damaged. This is slimline so there is no evidence of vignetting at any focal length. Fits perfectly. Lovely item.

The problems of cross vigneting occurs just when you exceed the marks on the filter ring. if you handle this, you would have a great quality in the images you shoot

Quality filter as you would expect from Hoya, bought to fit my Sony bridge camera. Perfect fit, protective of the lens, and picture quality both inside and outside is superb. Recommended.

Perfect Mid-Budget variable ND filter.
Holds great on my sony a6000. I bought the 52mm which is the smallest and I am using it with both my 40.5 kit lens and a 49mm lens (downsize ring bought separately). This is my first filter and did not know exactly what to expect, so far so good as it does the job specially for video recording. Aberrations? Well, it is on the manual included but not a problem. Color issues? Not noticeable, not a pro and doing basic color correction but always check your WB just in case.

I've used Hoya filters for many years and they are excellent. This 55mm unit is an odd size these days but it arrived within 48 hours of ordering, and I am highly pleased both with the filter and the speed of service.

Perfect for DSLR Video in Full Sun!
I bought this for my photography and video for when I'm shooting outdoors in full sun. When shooting DSLR Video you have to use a slower shutter speed usually 1/50 this can be a pain because you may not be able to cut enough light. While you could just pick up a regular ND filter having to adjust your setting can take up too much time and give inconsistent results when going in and outdoors all day. This was a great investment and doesn't cause the autofocusing issues that you get from cheaper filter brands. I couldn't recommend it more!

straight forward lens filter that protects the lens coating from sticky fingers. I always use these to keep lenses safe and Hoya are always good and reliable. Not cheap but does the job well.

Wow I’m very impressed with the quality of this ND filter. You pay for what you get, and this is proof.
