Good product.
I brought this filter to protect the front element of my lens. It does this job perfectly but can't speak for the uv protection. Be sure to check your filter diameter(ø) before buying it.

Not sure if it actually prevents the haze but it certainly keeps my expensive lens from getting messed up! That's the reason I bought it and serves its purpose well.

Hoya lens guard.
Made in Philippines Hoya filter metal ring not of the quality as one I bought 30 yrs back which was Japan made.The glass is quite ok and should serve the purpose of protecting my new Nikon 50 mm 1.8 lens.

the filter is really great for the price
ok... the filter is really great for the price. it kills less than .3 f stops and does not really flare up in ordinary situations. good for protecting the lens.

A must buy for photographers.
Awesome lens filter. it has kept my lena protected till date. A must buy for all photographers if u r photographing in a dusty environment.....n the best part it doesn't affect ur photo at all.

Perfect.....as expected from HOYA
Superb piece of glass. Really sturdy....build quality feels premium. And there is very slight reflection (cuz its not the PRO series) and transparency is great.
A lot of reviews say that there is loss of image quality when using a filter and so on. I never noticed any significant difference in the image quality though. There is a bit of softness when you zoom in a lot in the picture but in reality, why would anyone zoom in to the maximum! Instead get yourself a better lens.
My main aim of buying this filter was for protection and believe me, it's really quality stuff that can withstand bangs; not those cheap plastic filters!
This filter was never made for the professionals but was made for those amateurs who want to consider photography as a profession and want quality equipment in a budget.
Definitely a thumbs of this filter. I'll recommend it to anyone.
