Bought this for a lawn overseed project. I never knew a simple lawn sprinkler could be so awesome. Great spread, adjustable in two directions. Worth the price tag, even though it's a bit more than other options.

I'm now finishing my fourth season with the Gardena 1973 sprinkler. I use it to water my small front and rear lawns. I water every bit of the lawn and hardly get a drop on the sidewalk or my neighbor's lawns. This sprinkler can be accurately adjusted. No problems whatever.
I handle it gently. Since I water at night, it doesn't spend much time in the sun. Things made of plastic generally do well under those conditions.

My yard isn't very large but wanted the ability to really soak the grass. This product really delivers! The adjust-ability allowed me to catch all the areas of my lawn without wasting much water on concrete. It's very well designed. The quick disconnect makes sense and there's even a feature that cuts off water flow if for some reason the the hose becomes disconnected while running. I'm already thinking about buying another one for the other portions of my yard.

I love this sprinkler. The sustainability is fantastic. My first one eventually did break... but it had 2-3 years of heavy use. I do wish it would last longer, but I would buy it again because it makes my life so much easier!

This is a very well made unit. It's definitely pricey, but if you're trying to target an area to water without wasting water, look no further. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the design of this unit and it was easy to customize to hit exactly the area I wanted to.

These sprinklers are awesome! You wouldn't think it, but there are a ton of features on this unit, both left and right sides can have their width adjusted and you can set the oscillation very easily. The quick connect system is great and seems pretty solid & convenient. Loved the first one I bought so much that I bought a 2nd for the backyard.

It's adjustable in width and length. Covers by garden perfectly without over-watering and allows for easy expansion of the garden without having to worry about getting a second sprinkler. It's held up to daily use, easy to clean, easy to set. I'm extremely happy with my investment, especially having wasted so much money on lower priced items that break quickly and offer no adjustments.

I've had a number of sprinklers over the year and Gardena has always produced the highest quality solutions. I was tired with the cheap sprinklers I've picked up at local that would either not live up to the claims on the boxes or simply break within a few months. I've owned the Gardena 1973 Aquazoom for 3 months now and it is by far one of my favorite sprinklers allowing me to get those trouble areas without watering the street. This sprinkler features the ability to shrink or widen both width and distance of spray. Well worth the investment. The only downside I see is the fact that the connection is a piece of ABS plastic. Thats the weakest point of any sprinkler and may end up being the weak point on the product.

I love all the adjustments I can make to this sprinkler. I've only owned one in my life (this one). But I have no doubt that this is one of the best ones out there to get your water exactly where you need it.
The only thing I could think of to make it better is an automatic on/off timer on it :).

I bought this early July and I loved it. If gives a lot of fine grain controls and allowed me to only water a small narrow but long strip of grass. Being able to adjust the width and length is brilliant. I even took it over to my neighbor to show him. That said it's not middle of August and the sprinkler doesn't oscillate . I can manually twist but it won't move on it's own. I tried to return it, but apparently you only get 1 month warranty. I saw in the reviews that a few others had similar problems. Sounds like they have some design flaw that causes these to easily break or something. I wasn't a heavy user but it did keep it outside in the elements.

Although this sprinkler works well now, I cannot see it lasting for more than 2 or 3 years. My last Gardena sprinkler lasted 10. All the materials were much heavier than what they are producing now. I am already being careful not to break the base on this one, as it is plastic and quite thin. For .25 cents more spent on the spinkler, they could have made it much heavier and durable. It hasn't broken yet, but my expectations are quite low. For $53. bucks delivered, I am not happy.

We've now had a full spring through fall of use, and the Gardena has performed flawlessly. This is the first time I've had a sprinkler that didn't require I tweak and jiggle its parts every so often to keep it working. I also really like the quick disconnect feature.

2020 UPDATE: I'm absolutely amazed this little guy has lasted 7 years, but it shows no signs of even slowing down. We've been at a much larger property since 2014 so it really gets a workout too. One of the best buys I've ever made.

This sprinkler is so adjustable, it will fit any yard. It is well worth the price to not have to go out and move the sprinkler from area to area. With a little bit of experimenting and adjustments you can get it to fit the entire area you want to water.

Found similar lawn sprinkler advertised on Hammaker Schlemmer as worlds best sprinkler selling for over $100 yet less than 1/2 price on Amazon. Allows you to set length and width of spray so you are not watering sidewalk or neighbor's lawn. A great product!

This product does not cover as wide an area as the good old Gardena Grande, which seems no longer to be available. Its width is adjustible, unlike the Grande, but the only reason for this more expensive product is that the width can be adjusted to be more narrow. Otherwise, it is solid, feels strong, and I presume will give years of service like my other Gardena products. But please bring back the reliable, simple, useful Grande.

First one didnt oscillate reliably so had to return it. Replacement works great. I like this sprinkler. Covers large area evenly with versatility in spray pattern. All in all one of the better sprinklers I have had.

This item is advertised as 46' maximum width and 59' max length, but it never went wider than about 24', and never longer than about 40'. And I have very high pressure (65 psi). Also, it hangs for a long time at both ends, resulting in the ends being overwatered and the middle area being under watered. I will try to see if I can return this to Amazon.

It works fine but it doesn't cover the 2700 square ft like it advertises. It may need a disclaimer like Results May Vary like the MPG ratings. It's possible with great water pressure you could get 2700 square feet of coverage but I'm lucky to get 1500-1800 sf coverage. For the price I would have liked the actual 2700 sf.

EDITED: Stopped oscillating, but I was able to disassemble it and tighten the inside mechanism. Now it works fine again.

Das ist unsere dritte Gardena-Akkuschere. Die früheren hatten noch einen NiCd-Akku mit geringer Ausdauer und den typischen NiCd-Akku-Problemen, funktionierten aber ansonsten gut. Die neue hat nun einen zeitgemäßen Lithium-Ionen-Akku, dessen Kapazität bei uns (ca. 400 qm Grünfläche mit entsprechenden Rasenkanten) noch nie bis zum Ende ausgereizt wurde. Die Verarbeitung wirkt stabil und hochwertig, die Oberflächen sind angenehm, die Handhabung durch den anwinkelbaren Griff besser als je zuvor. Sobald man die zum Paket gehörenden Räder eingerastet hat, fallen sie auch nicht ungewollt ab (wie das bei anderen Produkten berichtet wurde). Dass die Schere Gras bzw. mit dem separat erhältlichen auswechselbaren Strauchaufsatz dünne Sträucher gut schneidet, versteht sich von selbst. Wir haben die Schere zusammen mit dem Stiel bestelllt, der rastet fest und verdrehsicher ein (offenbar ebenfalls im Gegensatz zu Produkten anderer Hersteller), sodass man die Schere bequem im Stehen und Gehen benutzen kann. Kurz: Das Teil funktioniert tadellos und kann man guten Gewissens empfehlen. - Ärgerlich war nur die schlampige Verpackung: Die Bedienungsanleitung war dermaßen nachlässig ins Paket gequetscht, dass sie erstens beschädigt ankam (Seiten eingerissen) und zweitens noch nach Wochen völlig verbogen ist (siehe Foto).

this is an amazing tool, i thought i would try it for five minutes to see how it worked. Totally surprised by how efficient this was and how quick it trimmed the grass along the side of the paving slabs and fence. Before I knew it i had cut all the grass edging. Amazing battery charge, I kept thinking it will die any second but it didn’t.
Can’t believe how good this is for the price. I expected to be disappointed but i was very pleasantly surprised.
Will be buying some for christmas presents. This is an ideal gift for the person who needs nothing.
