This sprinkler is very easy to adjust and has excellent range. The width adjustment levers on either side of the head work well. Adjusting the range of rotation is done easily with two sliders on one side of the head. They allow virtually any pattern from full spread to a narrow sector in any direction between full left to full right. One of the best features is that you can hold the head in place as it operates because it has a clutch mechanism, which allows you to adjust the width and the rotation while its operating without having to pick up the sprinkler and turn it away from you like conventional models. The sprinkler holds a lot of water when it's sitting level, so it's important to drain it before a freeze. All the exterior components are plastic and this is an expensive device, so I've been more careful with it than I am with other less sophisticated sprinklers. As for longevity, I've had mine since September 2011, and this comment is being written in October 2013.

I purchased this unit near the end of May 2012. I was pleased that it was adjustable to water a narrower front lawn (26' wide) and NOT water the street as well. When the watering season ended in late September, I removed it, drained it and let it stand upright to remain water-free over the winter. When I went to use it again in April 2012, water just leaked from all of the stationary central nozzles. This is very disappointing for a sprinkler of this price. I also had a I have written to Gardena and am waiting a response for either replacement or some place to send it for repair. I also had the 8125 MiniZoom which was great, which only lasted 1 watering season in 2011, until it broke off of it's base. Gardena products work as advertised and are pricey, but just aren't built to last.

I love this sprinkler! I’m able to do my entire front yard without having to move it around to get full coverage! I also love the special coupling that permits easy attachment and detachment of the hose. Wonderful product and well worth the price!💕💕💕

I was hoping that the spray range of this unit would be superior to others. With no wind and surplus pressure (I've measured my water pressure at this spigot before and it's well above average), it reached a length of about 47 feet, not 59 as claimed. I was otherwise happy with it and the adjustable features are nice to have. Being curious, I went to the local wally world and picked up a melnor metal oscillating sprinkler for $15. I measured the range using same setup/conditions and to my surprise the melnor had about 2-3 feet additional range. I can't attest to longevity but I am more in need of range than life, though the quality of the cheaper one seems fine in comparison. I am returning the gardena.

I'm not usually given to gushing over yard appliances, but this one completely rocks. "High tech" adjustments allow you to fine tune the watering area in all directions, both the width of the spray and the arc of the oscillation. I was able to water a tight spot in my yard that is 6 feet wide and 20 feet long without spaying my neighbors yard or the driveway on either side, then by moving a few gliding controls,turn around and water a very wide but short area with the same precision. Controls are very intuitive, and while I don't think it would survive being run over by a car, feel like they will last for a while. The quick release mechanism is a dream, no more trying to screw a reluctant sprinkler one to a hose that you're trying to clamp off to keep the water from spraying all over. Just a quick click-click and you can switch the sprinkler for a nozzle with hardly a drop wasted. Amazing- I just bought another one to sent to my mom.

Gardena Sprinkler worked for about 20 minutes...then would no longer oscillate.... Tried to correct but it did not help. Will have to drive to UPS store for return which is about 45 minutes from our rural location... I bought two of these... Hoping the second one will work properly...

I really hesitate to give this thing 5 stars because it is dang expensive for a sprinkler but after burning through 3 cheapo sprinklers in the past 2 years I figured I'd give it a shot. The Gardena is definitely the best of the bunch. It made it through an entire summer without and problems. I really like that the sprinkler is very easy to adjust both width and oscillation. The snap-on / snap-off aspect is a bit gimmicky and maybe if I invested in the "system" for my other sprayer attachments it would be valuable but I don't use it. I'm curious what others who gave this 1-3 stars would propose as a better product? This is the best sprinkler in a world of bad/mediocre sprinklers.

10/17/2013 - It's been another year and this thing is still going strong and is as smooth as when i first bought it. It now has earned its starts.

I have good water pressure, 50 psi,tested. And this sprinkler does come close to covering the area they say it does. Also, each spray pass is not equal if you stand and watch it changes its range setting by a foot or more after a few passes then goes back to settings then changes again. Also it is quite large and obvious with the bright orange pieces. Since it is so unusual and obvious I have no doubt someone will walk off with it if I leave it out, so I detach it and out it away after every use. Kind of annoying to have to do that. But that's not the sprinklers fault.

Unfortunately we have inconsistencies with the water pressure in our neighborhood. I should have purchased the larger one when I had the chance. Other than that the ability to adjust the watering area with the knobs/switches is fantstic. I hve more control now over the irregular areas in my lawn. The build quality for being all plastic is very good. Initially I was concerned about it's stability on the lawn under pressure as I have always used a metal framed sprinkler in the past. But Because of its low center of gravity there were no issues there.
This is not a sprinkler I recommend "pulling" from the hose though as the edges around the base are square and not too rounded as one finds on true ski-type metal sprinklers. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting more control on their watering areas.

It's simple, but it's fantastic. The adjustments, which are easy to use, make it able to cover my whole lawn without having to move it. It works so well - very clever. Definitely worth buying.

I recently had several new planting put in and didn’t really want nor need to water the whole lawn. With this sprinkler I was able to water just the various trees and bushes I had planted. This is my second one of these The other lasted about 6 years.

I purchased one, set it up and turned on the water. That same day I ordered a second. While I haven't had for very long and so can't comment on longevity, etc., I am struck by what seems to be an obvious difference between the other sprinklers I have--it just feels like a much higher quality sprinkler. I was surprised that with low water pressure, an issue I struggle with the other sprinklers, this sprinkler seemed to obviate the problem. Now for the test of time . . . .!

I purchased 2 units, 1 works and 1 does not work. Rotates to the left and stops. A few years ago I purchased 2-350T units with the timer and shutoff and experienced same result, 1 worked and the other did not rotate. Poor quality, stay away!

I purchased this sprinkler a week ago to water newly seeded areas of our lawn that were damaged during renovations to our house. As our lawn is not too large, I needed a sprinkler that allowed me to dictate the length and width of the watering pattern. This sprinkler is simple to adjust and appears to be built well. Time will tell how long it lasts. A+ review so far.
Update: After using the sprinkler for a few weeks, I am really impressed. The width/length controls are easy to use and make watering very precise. No complaints whatsoever, in fact, I'm going to buy another so I don't have to swap one around the house.

Much more customizable than the other rainbow sprinklers. I have a small patch of bushes and fruit trees, surrounded by a neighbors property and my driveway. I have found you can get the smallest settings, not by shooting above it, but rather using the most angled and narrow setting... hope that makes some sense to save you guys the trouble of what took me 20 minutes of experimenting to figure out.

This is a great sprinkler. I don't typically spend much for items of this nature, but was tired of dealing with cheap sprinkler systems for the lawn/landscape so I thought I'd give it a shot. The adjustable pressure is great for controlling how far you want your water to travel, and the two adjustable endpoints are easy to use, and perfect for getting that perfect width in the coverage area. I don't use the easy release too much, but it's a nice option to have on there if you want to remove the hose and move the sprinkler around without having to turn it off at the faucet.

In response to the question about can this sprinkler take a standard quick connect- the answer is YES, you just leave the connector that comes with it in place and add a male quick connect.
I really wanted this to work and I don't know if it's my water pressure or the sprinkler but this did not cover as much area as my metal oscillating sprinkler that was much cheaper. My house is new so the pressure should be fine or maybe this one sprinkler was a problem - either way I am sending it back.

The first GARDENA Oscillating Sprinkler we purchase work great everyday for 20 years. We bout this as a replacement and the coverage is even better. This seems like it is just as well made as our first one.

We have used several of these for 2-3 years in our apartment's lawns and gardens. the water is very hard and tends to ruin plumbing quickly.
So far they have all worked as advertised and none have failed. the spray pattern is quite flexible.

This is my 3rd Gardena sprinkler. My puppy chewed one. They are AWESOME! Easy to use. Cover a wide area. German technology - nothing better than that! I use one in the back and one in the front. You will be happy with any of their products.

I've had this this sprinkler in service for 3 or 4 months and it is very quiet and smooth in operation. The build quality is excellent. If used to water along the fence or pavement, the adjustable width controls allow me to set one side to spray straight up with hardly any water wasted on the concrete or in the neighbor's yard. It can cover most of the backyard in a single sweep, if I decide to do that.The quick disconnect is handy but you really need one for each of the spraying devices you use to take advantage of the potential time savings. I recommend this item.
