great for hoses around the place
Many years ago we found the gardena stuff at local greenhouse and fell in love. Lately they are not stocked at greenhouse as they carry Melnor. Have found that Melnor products do not work as well or last as long. Looking to get back to gardena and this was great chance to do that. Would love to find oscillating sprinkler from gardena at a reasonable price but not so far.

The Best Connectors I've Used
These quick connectors work very well and make switching out watering equipment quick and easy. I have also used them with Melnor and Gilmour quick connectors, and all three are interchangeable with each other. Out of the three brands Gardena is definitely the most ergonomic and easiest to use, but also the most expensive. I'd say that these are worth the premium, though, but they're not necessary for more or less permanent applications. As a result, I use Gardena connectors on hoses and equipment that I will frequently handle and then cheaper connectors on hoses that are ran permanently along my house.

Fits great - no leaks
These use universal metric/US hose connector sizes that should fit either or (I'm using them on US sized threads). I bought two sets of these to go on various hoses, pressure washer, sprayers, sprinklers, virtually every watering device and hose I have has these connected on it. It makes it incredibly simple to switch devices on the hose without having to shut off the water. For the past 6 months I have heavily used all of them and none have leaked at the quick connector or the screw fittings! You can pick up a set of o-ring from harbor freight or buy the proper ones from Gardena to replace the quick connectors if they fail (haven't had any issues yet). You can also try to oil them to bring them back to life, especially if you've left it out over winter.
These seem really durable. I have had these on hoses and sprayers that have dropped on pavement and not broken off. I've had several cheaper hose fittings that either started leaking within the first year or broke apart the first time they touched pavement. I expect these to last many years without needing replacement.
Had a slight issue when I ordered one of the packages was missing one of the female quick connect fittings from the box - Amazon quickly replaced though. Otherwise these are quality connectors that I will continue to stick with Gardena from now on.

Great little gadget!
If you don’t have these connectors, get you some quick! They are wonderful little contraptions and make changing out nozzles and sprinklers so much quicker and easier. One feature that I’m really enjoying is when watering with a handheld garden nozzle it swivels on the connector. This makes it so much easier to control my heavy water hose. Rather than the water hose controlling me I’m controlling it.

Great Starter Set
The only reason these aren't 5 stars is because I discovered the all metal ones. The all metal are my preferred connector - that said if budget or just an easy way to get started is what you are looking for - this is a great set at a great price. The hole GARDENA system is the best I have ever used. Working in the yard my whole life, I truly appreciate the speed, ease and comfort provided by the fittings. I have had arthritis for a long time in my hands. These are so easy for me whether it is 50 degrees or 100 degrees that I have forgotten what it was like before

leaking
the return window has closed but I have had problems with this all summer. I have to shut off the hose at the faucet and cannot let it sit. I have replaced the rubber washer seals and installed silicone tape but still leaks. never had a problem with this product before but this was a bad batch. Can't say I would order again.

Great product & super price, but durability is suspect
This is a great product! Here is a complete kit to get you started with quick connect use. It contains everything you need to quick connect your hose to the faucet, and to quick connect two devices to the hose.
The description doesn't mention it - but the hose end quick connect adapter has a valve which stops water when you disconnect whatever you have attached. This allows you to change devices on the hose end without having to turn off the water!
I found these items to be completely leak proof when tightened firmly. The best news is these fittings are all compatible with the Ames Tru Temper cassette hose reel systems!
UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: Every single fitting (faucet and device fittings) has broken. Some due to obvious abuse, being sheared right off - and some perhaps not so abused yet still showing hairline cracks that leak water. The problem is the fittings are made from plastic - it breaks, cracks etc. Meanwhile I have brass fittings that are compatible with the quick connect/disconnect hose ends. I wish I could find more of the brass fittings - they are impervious to normal garden wear and tear.

Connector just broke in half in 2 months. being 3-4 times costlier than other connectors was expecting it to last at least 3 years.

Unfortunately nothing beats gardena. They kepp tight even after years and years of usage. connect as well as disconnect easy.
My parents have some that are at least 20 years old and still fine.
I am not sure how many attachments are available in the US but in Europe, this is the Rolls Royce of water hoses. You can get sprnklers, waterguns whatever you can imagine....and of course they are REALLY expensive.....well, you get what you pay for.
Before I forget, one thing that makes these connectors so great. Once you disconnect the water stops! No dripping and when you connect the "hot" hose...you will not get drenched......

Total garbage. Don’t waste your money.
This product is a complete waste of money. The plastic threads disintegrate with normal use, causing leaks and then total failure. These connectors are made of cheap, soft plastic that is prone to cross-threading and guaranteed to fail. This is a product I would rate zero stars if it were an option.

tough water connectors that don't disappoint
considering they're plastic, they are strong and tolerate a lot of abuse. I bought these same brand ones a couple years ago, and decided since they withstood the test of time and abuse id go ahead and get all my hoses and sprinklers and wands connected ♥

They perform well
I hate to install a significant diameter reduction like these in a 3/4 inch water hose, but I was having issues with the removal of nozzles. My past experience with these in plastic over similar devices in brass have been very positive.

Leaks Galore.
Love the convenience and how easy it is to connect and change hoses and sprinklers. But haven't had these even a year, used very lightly, and the connectors all have developed leaks and spray water all over when under pressure. Not surprising since they are all plastic, but I sure don't want to have to be constantly buying new ones all the time as easily as these break. Will be looking for a similar system that holds up to use a bit better.

Yes I like the quick connect
The white and orange connectors are intended to stop the water flow so one does not walk back and forth turning the water on/off. I have bought 6 sets of this package. ALL but one of the orange and white flow stop connectors are broken within a year, Yes I like the quick connect, but not the breakage, not at this price.

Leaked at first, then stopped
This couldn't be easier to use as you can imagine. Screw the end of the connectors to your hose/sprayer and then push the connectors together and voila! Only problem is the connection is loose and leaks horribly. So many other people have reported no leaks, so i wonder if i am doing something wrong... but can't imagine what.
UPDATE:
Still not sure what i was doing wrong. I unscrewed/disconnected all the pieces and put them back together. Connected/disconnected the quick release several times then turned on the water. It just drips a little bit now. So i guess i'll change from 2 to 4 stars. It still does leak, but not much and i'm still not sure how I didn't have a good seal the first day I tried it.

Good product so far
This is a very good product so far. There are no leaks and the product is easy to use. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I feel that it is overpriced. I went to Home Depot and picked up a starter set of the Melnor quick connects were are identical and interchangeable with this set. It was only 4 dollars, about 3x the cost of this starter set. Turns out Gardena and Melnor are essentially the same company. Maybe time will tell if this is a more durable product than the Melnor, but so far they seem identical.

Essential gardening items
The best! I've used these for years. Tried some metal ones recently thinking they would be sturdier, but they dented easily and then leaked. These just keep going and going. So convenient to quickly attach sprinklers, wands, etc.

Failed after one month light use.
I thought that a plastic quick connect might turn out to be cheesy, but I gave them a try anyway.
After only one month at the end of a light duty hose, the male end just snapped in half. The plastic sheared in half at the middle of the fitting with the male end still engaged into the female snap. Yup, it was under normal water pressure but it wasn't like I was using the hose as a tow rope, or pumping benzene through it.
I've had both brass and aluminum hose quick connects wear out over the years, but never snap in half like that.
Next time I'll listen to that little voice.

Love these for both RV and home. Plastic in Arizona is a gamble but 1 yr later still performing well. Wish they sold caps for the female ends

Für meine hydroponischen Blumenkästen musste ich bei jeden Gießen immer so um die 12 bis 13 Kannen Wasser zu mir in den ersten Stock schleppen. Das hat die Gardenapumpe angenehmer gemacht. Nun gieße ich mit dem Schlauch aus der Regentonne und man merkt keinen Unterschied ob der Schlauch an der Wasserleitung hängt oder von der Pumpe versorgt wird. Hier für mich die Punkte warum ich mir die Pumpe gekauft habe und was Sie so gut macht:
- Automatische Start-/Stopp Funktion, Schlauch abdrehen nach 5-7 sek. schaltet die Pumpe ab und man verbraucht nicht unnötig Strom. Einschalten nach Aufdrehen geht noch schneller, man merkt der Druck fällt kurz leicht ab und schon schiebt die Pumpe wieder an. Ferner ist die Abschaltautomatik super gemacht, selbst wenn der Schlauch fast zugedreht ist merkt die Pumpe das noch Wasser gebraucht wird und läuft weiter, das heißt man kann auch bei kleiner Wassermenge gießen und die Pumpe macht keinen Schmarrn.
- super Wasserdruck und Förderleistung, laut Aufschrift 4700l/h und 2.2bar. Ich pumpe das Wasser mit einen 13mm Schlauch auf den Balkon im 1.OG und mit der Schlauchspritze kommt man immer noch gute 10 bis 12 Meter weit.
-leicht zu reinigender Filtersieb, kann mit einer Hand entnommen und wieder eingesetzt werden. Finde ich sehr gut da ja oft von der Dachrinne nicht nur Wasser kommt
- nicht schwer und gut handzuhaben, ich hätte mir die Pumpe schwerer vorgestellt und dank dem Tragegriff (damit meine ich nicht das Kabel oder Steigrohr!!!) macht den Transport einfach
- Absperr- / Regulierventil an der Pumpe, macht die Inbetriebnahme und das Abbauen leichter
- praktisch selbst erklärend und funktioniert tadellos
Einige Tipps an die Leute die hier Probleme mit der Pumpe haben:
- Das die Start- / Stoppautomatik richtig funktioniert muss erstens die Pumpe entlüftet werden (einmal Schlauch voll aufdrehen und gut ist), das Schlauchsystem muss dicht sein (wie schon geschrieben, Pumpe erkennt Abnahme kleinster Wassermengen) und es sollte auch jede Luft aus dem Schlauch auch entlüftet werden (Wasser nicht gut komprimierbar, Luft schon...).
-Wenn man die Pumpe wegräumt oder einlagert sollte man einen Untersetzer unterstellen, da immer wieder mal paar Tropen Wasser noch nachlaufen.
- Und wie schon geschrieben, das Kabel oder das Steigrohr sind keine Tragegriffe!
Fazit: Super Gerät

Don't like it, even with the cheap ones you don't ...
You cannot connect them when the water is on; every time I want to disconnect the shower head and connect the sprinkler, I have to go to turn off the water, connect it and then back to the faucet to turn on the water back. Don't like it, even with the cheap ones you don't have this problem. Will never buy again.
