Very chunky and quite large
I had no choice but to buy this printer (as i swore i would never buy another Epson again) but as there were no other ones in stock apart from this i had no choice. The print quality is great, but it is a slow printer. The main problem is Epson trying to block you using compat cartridges ( so be very wise on which ones you do buy) as they want to force you to use their mega expensive cartridges, which for a home printer is extortionate

Considerable disappointment
I bought this on the basis of it's very small footprint and its low cost - there it is good, but everything else seems to be a struggle. I am a normal level of home/small office computer user but whilst straight forward printing is ok both scanning and straight using it as a copier is fiddly. I will probably cope but my wife who is a "non-techy" may never master them.
I'm not saying don't buy this but proceed with caution.

Dreadful. Don't buy under any circumstances
I had this printer delivered today. Nothing wrong with Amazon. I set the printer up and got it working. I had bought another Epson as I had unused inks from my last printer and I cannot afford to waste it. It worked until i needed to change the ink, then it refused to recognize the Epson ink. I tried another full cartridge and again it refused to recognize this. I went onto the Epson site and this is what sent me ballistic. They want £5 just to give you advice on how to make your new printer work. I have long thought the ink prices were just a scam, but to then ensure they cannot be recognize their own product is merely a scam to rip people off. I am so angry about this that I am now going to my MP about this. The whole thing is a scam. DO NOT BUY any Epson product. .

Ink Scam
This isn't fit for purpose. Set up fine in my phone but connecting this to a laptop was an awful experience. Still can't get it to scan and the software / help is ridiculous.
The worst thing is that you cannot print in just black - you have to buy a full replacement set of cartridges.
To add to the mess, Aaron recommended the wrong replacement cartridges so have had to go through their painful return process too.
Awful.

Do not buy printer .... MoreFrom great
I would give the seller MoreFrom five stars, but the printer only only one star. The printer developed a fault in that it kept saying paper jam. Eventually the paper couldn’t be unjammed. MoreFrom were really quick to respond to emails and organised a pick up of the printer so I wouldn’t have to go to the PO during lockdown. And when they received it I got my refund. Do not buy the printer, but do buy from MoreFrom.

Bad quality and ink costs a fortune
This printer costs a fortune in ink and the quality is basic. One set of cartridges does 20-30 sheets. It won’t let you continue printing even if you have only ran out of one colour ink. It prints with lines. I do run a clean function on it but it only fixes for a few sheets then lines again. Honestly it has cost me hundreds over lockdown and I’m only printing a few sheets a week for the kids homework but I guess I’ve had no choice.

Avoid! Lasted three months then stopped working.
This is, without doubt, the worst printer I have ever bought. I had misgivings about buying an Epson, and this confirmed them. The first thing I learned was the printer drinks ink like you wouldn't believe, so you'll be buying new cartridges all the time - and they're not cheap! Then the thing packed in completely. Now it's just another piece of junk heading to the recycling centre. There doesn't seem to be the slightest attempt to build these things to last.

Printer
Always buy Epson but this is the worst one yet. The set up disc wouldn't play on any of cd players.the info sheet was one page with lots of different languages. So little in english.couldn't get up web site until the second day.would not work ofwi fi so I had to go had to use cable.so noisey.at the end of it all it prints well but I don't like it. A big price for a cheap printer.

DO NOT BUY
I purchased this printer for my daughter to do her school work on. It's complete rubbish. They send ink with the printer which lasts all of 5 minutes, then its printing with all lines over. I contacted the seller they told me to replace my ink so I did. I put the new ink in the printer and tried again now it's just printing black and white still with all lines over. I printed 5 sheets of this and its telling me my ink has yet again run out. My ink lasted 30 minutes just on black and white as it wont print in colour. I would NOT recommend buying this item unless you just want black and white prints and have lots of money to spend on replacing the ink everytime you print 5 sheets off. TERRIBLE PRINTER.

Not easy to set up, but worth the effort.
I need my printer to work wirelessly with MacOS, iOS and Windows 10 devices. This no doubt explains why the setting up process presented something of a challenge! Or it did to me.
However, once achieved the results are excellent. The output both in colour and monochrome is fast and good quality. The Epson cartridges are not cheap, but compared with my previous printer (Canon) running costs are very reasonable, even more so with alternative cartridges from Amazon. The copy function also works very well. Good buy at a very good price.

Inks run out REALLY quickly
A day after I bought this printer, I already had a notification that I need to replace ink - after I printed literally 10 pages of my uni project.
After another 3 days- another ink is low and I need to reorder them.
The quality isn't the best as well. Colours are really faded, maybe it is also settings/ configuration's fault so I may try to change it, but so far my prints have been really faded.
I haven't tried scanning yet but copier works pretty well. I am keen on this one.
Unfortunately, overall not really worth the money I'm afraid- £27 for inks, If I can print only 20 pages is not worth even having a printer.

Great printer, easy to use and set up, just connect to wifi and then appears as available to print from on my pc. Quality and print speed is good enough for me.

Good Quality Printer
Received the printer today and it has already came in very handy, due to the current situating some of my work has to be done at home and this printer is just what I needed. Once out the box its very simple to set up and easy to follow instructions. The printer did come with ink cartridges but if you want the XL you will have to pay extra. Overall very impressed.

Very Tidy Compact Printer
We bought this printer as the ink for our old one was more expensive than a new machine, so far it seems to be fine, we have printed from it and done a copy which were both fine. It doesn’t print too darkly, it is a bit noisey, I think for limited use it will be fine, if you need to use it regularly I think you would need a more robust item.

Do not by this garbage
Very slow wi-fi printer & not much better hardwired.
I have been trying to use the scanner since yesterday to copy a colour 23 page document, slow is not the right word to use almost 2 hours to copy 20 pages at 200dpi in colour then it messes up and i had to scrap the whole thing.
If you want a piece of technology straight out of 1984 that operates on a high speed fibre network like its a 14.4k dialup then please feel free to come and fish this garbage out of my bin.
Give this, and I'll be honest all epson printers becsuse I've never used a good one yet, a miss.
You won't regret saving your money and opting for something probably cheaper yet far superior.

Printer will not print black ink
Thank you for asking me to review this printer unfortunately after the black ink was used the printer head has gone blank. I have fitted a New Epson Black cartridge 603 to fit the XP3100 but I am not getting any black print. I have tried cleaning the hands but with no success if Amazon could give me the contact details for the printer company. I would like to give the company a chance to resolve the problem then my review could be different at the moment I cannot use the printer. Thank you Eamon Rush.

Avoid like the plague
Avoid this printer its utter garbage!!!!
Ran out of ink in 2 days, bought several diff types of cartridges and none work, finally got it working, unplugged to put in another room and when i plug it back in the actusl power socket snaps and dissapears inside!
Done with this piece of junk, returning and buying a completely different printer!

Simple to use
Not easy to install , had to use my computer guys to help (at a cost) it took a while to sort out and still not working correctly .The cost of the machine is now less than the charges to install it .Wish I had purchased a system that still requires connection to my computer it worked far better , and I have a very strong signal.

Endless connectivity problems
Bought this printer in January. Once we figured out how to install it (came with no installation instructions, just a CD rom but I don't have a CD drive these days) it worked fine for the first 2-3 weeks. Since then it has been a nightmare with endless wifi connectivity issues. Lights on the printer indicate fine and connected, laptop or any other device says its offline and/or in error state. Sometimes a full reset of everything cures it again for a few days, but not always, but the same issue always returns within a week, it is really unreliable and when I've needed to print things urgently it seems to almost always let me down. When I call Epson for support the wait time is usually 30-40 mins minimum. Unless you want to spend more time trying to make it work than actually printing things don't buy this printer.

Worst choice ever
Brough this printer few months back and printed around 30 to 35 printouts in total and now the ink is over. Ink price around 24 for the duplicate. Seriously, is this printer drinking all the ink? whilst my neighbours Epson EcoTank All-in-One Wi-Fi Printer ET-4700 is printing 4500+ black and while and 5500+ colour prints in one refill.

Yes it keeps losing connection with my pc (being right next ot the router) and the scanner is an absolute joke. It puzzles me how this kind of scan quality can pass quality control; its a disgrace.
The original cartridges' prices are one of the highest and the support is non existent.
Honestly after having 4 printers in my life this one is the worst. I guess the price reflects quality.

Good value for money and working remotely
When I bought it for my office, it wasn’t working for a while as it’s office network issues. Place it for a long time but during this covid19, i brought it to my home and it’s beautifully working.
Surely it’s network settings are very important. I now can print with using my phone and laptop even remotely. A bit noisy at night. A part from this, everything is fine. From Happy customer

The Worse Printer I have ever bought.
I bought this printer to enable me to work from home and it does not print color. The ink cartridges that came with the printer have no ink in them and I have wasted a new set of cartridges, trying to get the printer to work. I don't know if this is a one-off, but at the moment am having to self isolate and might have to go out to try and print this document. Very disappointed. I have a MacBook Pro running Catalina and it also does not print color from my IPAD or iPhone. I followed all the instructions, but no luck.

No Brainer
Easy to set up and good quality prints. I've bought this printer for my son-in-law so he can print great quality CVs and research material for interviews. I've been buying Epson products for years and always been happy with the quality I get for the competitive price I pay. From what my son-in-law says this machine is no exception.
