Disappointed
The print quality is poor. It has an ‘offline’ error regularly. Print cartridges are expensive and don’t last long. It has never functioned on double sided print so I’ve given up on that so wasting paper instead. Using options are clunky and no touch screen. Forgets Wifi password each time. Spend more if you can afford it. Scan works well. Looks ok and is light to carry. Can’t think of anything else good to say. Cartridges dry out quickly. Lots of print quality issues over the 3-4 months I’ve had it. Can’t return it now but am planning to buy another printer and review a bit more first this time

Avoid this product....
Literally zero stars for all categories but wouldn’t let me do this! Print quality awful and watery. Cartridges tiny.. did last long either and replacement set was £35 as it’s a new type. When I changed them printer wouldn’t communicate through WiFi. Had to dig out an old usb lead. Thus got it printing but the print quality went worse..basically unreadable and unusable... very disappointed.

Just another inkjet printer
My XP610 died after it decided that it had done the arbitrary number of copies. So I looked around for another printer. Of course none of the new models use the old ink cartridges. I chose this as its Epson cartridges were not the most expensive (still pricey) and it uses separate cartridges for black and the three colours. Set up was a breeze using an online programme. None of the sin makes of printer got rave reviews. I had thought of buying a Canon but stayed with Epson as we already have the iPrint apps on our iPads and iPhones.

Cheap and Cheerful
bought this as I needed it next day and it was so cheap it was almost impossible not to. A couple of months on maybe I should ave spent a bit more, it has issues with some brands of paper that cause constant jams, and the print quality can be lacking - it seems to have a mind of its own - one minute everything is fine, the next its checking out blurred text. For a dead cheap printer for low usage, I guess its OK, if you've two kids banging out homework during lockdown I'd spend a bit more and upgrade

Easy to use. Good print quality.
I like the look of this. The print quality is great too. The seller was really helpful and got back to me really fast when I had some questions. I was able to install everything but I prefer a set up card, rather than having to watch videos. Maybe you could have both? It just took me a while but maybe that's because I'd been having trouble with my lap top too. The set up is actually easy once you have the instructions to hand. I am really happy with it so far and have managed to set up all my devices to print easily.

Would not install all necessary software and it would not scan,the 2 previous epsom 3 in one's were great but this is rubbish even with the tech support

I wouldn't buy another Epsom
I bought a XP-3100 over 6 months ago. It's fine as a printer but there are some really annoying aspects to this printer. Firstly, it constantly wants to do firmware updates. Occasionally they hang forever unless you do them via a USB cable, which is a faff due to where we keep the printer (not near our computers). You then have to turn the printer off (even though it says not to) in order to restore functionality. Secondly, I wouldn't buy another Epsom because it's the one brand who's cartridges cannot be properly recycled. Other brands you can get money (for yourself or charity) by recycling the cartridges as they can be refilled. Epsom cartridges are made with a thin plastic and would just fall apart in processing. Bad for the environment. One plus point for Epsom is that I was able to get support quickly from their website using their live chat.

Epson is great!
Bought this about a year ago for home an sporadic use. Not sure why some bad reviews, either faulty units or people that don't know how to install or use properly. Very easy to install, it does the job pretty well for the price paid and it prints well even if after weeks without use. The cartridges didn't clog or dry and I'm very happy with the double side printing as it makes long printing jobs much easier. Scanning and the photocopying are brilliant and work flawlessly with the mini screen option or the Epson app. The Epson enabler driver also works very well with other apps, e.g. printing from Microsoft office app on the mobile, although with some limited functions. Great printer overall for its price. On the other hand, the cartridges are expensive but I usually get them refilled and works well for a few more times and thus make them cheaper too. Very happy with it after 1 year of use.

Ok printer for casual printing, expensive ink.
If you are printing rarely this printer is great. However if you print on a weekly basis it is not worth the money. This review is after owning it for 4 months. We have had to purchase ink a couple times over this time period and we have not gone through a full 500 blank pages. It has been quite expensive, and this is purchasing second hand ink not official epson ink . If you are purchasing the official ink cost will easily double. Additionally scanning has not been straightforward, we have had software issues. Nothing that is deal breaker but it has not been a smooth operation. Would not recommend unless you only print a few pages a month.

Brilliant printer!
Really pleased with this printer.
After much research we picked this one and it doesn't disappoint!
Brilliant print quality and SO easy to use, if really is is proof to be honest. Scan and copy features do what they say on the tin.
The Epson print app works fantastically too and the wifi feature is great and we have had no connectivity problems. Very easy to set up and very easy to change the ink too.
It is relatively quiet, quick printing and fantastic 2-sided print option too.
I would highly recommend for people wanting a decent home printer for moderate use.

Easy but lengthy set-up. I now have 9! Icons on my desktop that are solely for this printer. Scanning is good but extremely longwinded to set up.
This is a thirsty printer so if you can get away with it use draft rather than final. The cartridges supplied will get you going but ensure you buy XL replacements at the same time as you buy the printer. Or live close to a shop that sells such things!
Faster than the Canon it replaced but this is, in my opinion, designed very much for the domestic or sole-trader market.

Dont buy this printer - it lies about ink use and forces you to use Epson only cartridges
Somehow my colour inks seem to go down even when they're not being used. Sometimes they run out when I am printing in black and white. This is a nonsense that never happened on my HP printer. It says it cant use non Epson cartridges and it does nothing to actually measure how much ink you have left. It just counts pages and lies.

If you want a simple to use straightforward printer don't purchase this one
I have purchased many printers over many years. I really dislike this one. Its far to complicated. Then after I used it a couple of times, it said I need new printer cartridges. This meant I had to wait over a week to get some. I had to use a friend’s printer until it arrived. It does not have OCR capability when you scan a document so you cannot edit it. This means you may as well just copy the document. I had printers twenty years ago that had this capability and were far easier to use. It would be fine for someone who wants to be able to print a document from anywhere, but how many of us need to do that

Stay clear of this printer unless you are prepared to pay for expensive ink.
This appears to be a good piece of kit but at the time of purchase both Amazon and Epson failed to inform me that this printer will not accept 3rd party inks. When I came to install 3rd party inks (Epson inks are so expensive) the printer stopped working. Recent new ‘punishment’ firmware installed by Epson had ‘bricked’ my printer turning it into an expensive paper weight as soon as I installed the 3rd party inks.
Epson technical support failed to solve the problem. Surprise, surprise. I have had to resort to the hiring of 3rd party technical help in order to get the printer working again, and yes, with Epson’s expensive inks as there is no alternative. Not true, however, it you are clever enough to downgrade the firmware to the original version that does not have the ‘punishment’ device. This will allow you to use the cheap 3rd party inks providing you do not then let Epson install this latest firmware.
Stay well clear of this printer unless you want to pay for expensive ink.

Great home printer.
Excellent replacement for an aged printer (Epson) which although still working well, was no longer fully compatible with Win10. First time I’ve had a WiFi printer but it was very easy to set up straight from the box. So far so good, all straightforward and working well. Great print quality with the supplied inks to set up. Time will tell of course. Rather unfortunate that the cost of a set of original replacement ink cartridges is almost as much as a new printer. Must try compatible ink suppliers.

Fantastic WIFI printer very pleased quick delivery
Fantastic wifi printer!!! Prints well ,will conet to all devices so far and photo paper printing comes out really well, The only two things I've found is 1.it can take few trays to conet your phone or device to print from but once connected it works brilliant
2.does not like having too much paper in the printing try and if too much is in there it either wont print or paper gets jammed (Jams paper is very easy to remove if it happens 😊👍🙈) would suggest looking around for printer ink replacements .

I love this printer!!
This printer was so easy to set up and the print quality is great.
I love the fact that once it’s linked to your WiFi, you can print direct from your phone.
The only downside was that it didn’t come with a usb cable to connect to computer/laptop so I couldn’t scan.
But printing isn’t an issue which can be done via WiFi or Bluetooth.
I would highly recommend it, just make sure if you have an older laptop or computer, you get a cable to connect the printer to the device.

Worst printer ever
I'm quite technica and have never had issues with printers before either at work or home but this one is ridiculously obtuse to set up. Constantly declares itself to be in an 'error state' with no more details provided. Constant messages telling me to 'update firmware' but no instructions as to how and where to do so. The ink also runs is expensive and doesn't last long. The scanner works reasonably well but if you actually planned to print anything with this I wouldn't bother.

Quick delivery and excellent price
I bought this printer to replace an Epson DX which I have had for a long time. This new one is smaller which suits me very well. It's a bit noisy but as I don't use it very often this is not a problem. The scanner works well. The print quality is very good. I was thrown by there not being a manual but actually installing it was a breeze! I was sorry my old ink cartridges did not fit this one but it's not a major problem. All in all I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.

Basically doesn’t work with Apple products
Doesn’t work printing from an iPhone (AirPrint), also doesn’t connect with a Mac unless you do it manually typing in IP address (I discovered this after 4 hours and 7 phone calls to Epson). Direct WiFi works, but who wants to switch WiFi every time you print. All in all a terrible purchase

Clearly a cash cow for Epson
I took delivery of this printer on 29 January 2020. I am a fairly moderate user, so I didn't go for a more expensive model. Now I know why it's cheap: Epson make their money on the ink sales. I paid £60 for the printer and have so far (it's now April) spent £98.97 on ink. The first purchase was the 4 pack from Amazon which was £54.99. I then needed black and cyan replacements which were not available from Amazon so I had to buy from Epson at £43.98. For two cartridges!! I have never had anything but Epson printers for the past 20 years, but that's about to change. I'll never buy Epson again.

Worst printer experience ever.
Could not comment on print quality as I have been unable to print anything. I have failed to be able to set the printer up to either the internet or WiFi. I am not inexperienced having set up in excess of 20 printers in the past on various networks. Technical support is poor. Every step is very convoluted and geared to enrolling or purchasing other products or subscriptions. I will be returning the printer and will never be buying Epson products again. I would have given no stars given chance.

Scanner would not work
After downloading everything there was to download, including event manager as that is what it wanted on the window on the printer, the scanner would not recognise any of it. Had to return and buy a better model. Printer itself was fine. with the exception of the scanner!! Did not recognise the disc either.
Had Epson printers for years, ,never had this problem, Epson very helpful , even sent downloads, but still it would not work.

I had a Epson for some time before this one and was always pleased with it until it started having issues.
So why not buy another
I don’t do a lot of printing It arrived, easy enough to set up but noisy, slow and easily jams. I’ve spent to much time playing with it, naturally the ink supplied did not last long but we all know that’s why printers are cheap because the profit is in the ink sales!
