Failed in its basic role as a printer.
I purchased a brand new sealed XP-4100 in October 2019 to replace my preexisting Epson 730WD that I had owned for 7 years. I wasn't expecting the features of the previous high end all-in-one but for the money I was expecting a printer to work without fault. Not what I got with this product. On the positive side it is lite and compact and scanning is good quality if on the drawn-out side even on 300dpi... That's the positives out of the way. Now the cons... It does feel cheap and flimsy with a minimal life expectancy. I could have lived with that. Printing quality is terrible in that it not only leaves lines, even when it has been set-up correctly, but the prints lack any depth and too creamy. Worst of all the printings I have done only a couple of pages have been successful as the machine is either dumping ink on the paper or chewing up the paper feed resulting in having to open up the unit and retrieve the paper. So I am going to have to look into returning it.

Easy setup using display
Removed from box powered up used the on screen display to connect WiFi to my hub (using the button on the hub as requested it connected in seconds) went through the usual set up printing configs for print quality all Ok. Powered up my IMac (Mojave) it found it immediately and down loaded the required programs. Did the same with a windows 10 laptop again found it. All printing and scanning now no problems

Print Quality
Bought this model to replace Epson Photo R 422 giving very high quality photo's for many years with Win 7 on Dell Isperon 530 until unrequested (not wanted) auto Win 10 update by MS.
Win 10 did not work on the 530 despite many hours work so bought Dell Optiplex 7010...10 WIN 10 on which the Epson R 422 is not supported so bought Epson XP 5105 which is good on text but dreadful on A4 photo' printing giving a 'pink' haze over the photo.
Tried all types of photo paper at great expense to see if his situation could be respolved but, together with advice from main Epson suppliers, togther with an email to Epson to which I had no resonse I am having to consider purchasing an other printer.
Any advice would be grealy appreciated !!! Many thanks Norman Carter

Good value
We use this printer for both home and business use and it serves its purpose. The print quality is good as are the features. Would recommend for light to medium home use - up to 500 pages per month.

Proficient Printer 🖨
Amazon prime delivery so excellent service there.
Ordered as a replacement for my 7yr old Epson which was becoming quite reluctant to print.
Set up was very easy, just follow the on screen instructions, took about 5mins and we're connected to the WiFi and back up and printing (quitely and quickly)
Definitely recommend.

It does what it says on the tin....
It does what it says on the tin, just follow the onscreen instructions and its very easy to setup. All in all I would say I'm very happy with the printer, and supplier, especially the speed of service. I recommend both.

The menu and screens are quite busy and not easy to navigate. Not for every user. Ink consumption seems high.

Good, fast printer
Good quality printer which can do double sided printing. Fast as well
Supplied inks last about 100 pages so you need to order replacements fairly quickly
In case of my PC (Lenovo Yoga) the wireless connection continually drops even though the printer is connected to the hub? Probably user error but annoying.
Has a connection check program which is handy but having to run every time is frustrating.

Utter piece of rubbish!
Having had an Epsom WF-2500 for around 6 years, it finally broke down so I went for the XP-3100. Despite the cartridge Amazon sent with the printer not working and then again send replacements that didn't work, I just purchased my own as I need my printer on a daily basis as I run my own business. The amount of grief this printer has given me I am surprised it hasn't gone flying out the window. It is forever paper jamming, scruffing the paper up, the corner come out bent up. I feed the paper in straight but it seems to take it down too violently and then gets bent out of shape when going through the printer. My old WF 2500 was a dream but this piece of equipment is an utter piece of rubbish. I would stay away, I am sending it back to Amazon today!

Compact and easy to install
The printer was delivered promptly and was easy to set up wirelessly.
However the one negative is other then the On-Off button non of the other buttons are illumated making it difficult to see them when the light is poor.
Print quality not as good as the Canon it replaced by a long way!!

Epson software doubts
We've had this printer about 5 months on a Windows 7 laptop, and it's just had light use. All was well until recently when the printer displayed the message 'firmware update available' on the lcd screen, and refused to do anything until this was dealt with. There was no option NOT to install the update. When the printer was new I had disabled all updates on the computer via the Epson software, so I was annoyed now to find that that this had not also disable the printer's ability to download firmware updates itself! As I had no choice, I let the printer instal the firmware update. This seemed to have messed up the PC's Epson software though, as it now thought the printer was offline, even though it was definitely connected to the wifi. I found no way to remedy this, so I uninstalled all the Epson software from the PC, and downloaded just the XP-3100 Printer and Scanner drivers from the Epson site. On installing these, the PC found the printer immediately and the printer worked perfectly again.
So, on reading about similar problems from other buyers, my advice is: if you have the same firmware updater problem that I had, uninstall ALL Epson software and then download just the printer and scanner drivers. Install them manually. Do NOT install the Epson auto Updater software! Turn off automatic updating of all Epson software reinstalled AND in the printer settings menu. Remember: if it ain't broke, don't let Epson fix it.

Replacement for an older version
With working from home I needed a printer and my old one decided to stop working. I did my research and decided this met my needs and was in stock. It is the new version of my old printer which I had for years and found good.
This was a little tricky to set up, I almost got there as a technophobe but my husband had to do it in the end.
Print quality is good and ink cartridges are easy to replace. They are individual colours too so are more economical in the long run.
Easy to use with wifi connectivity and I have been able to print off my android phone as well.
Really good value for money. It comes with ink already but not a huge amount just enough to get you started.

Do not buy
Please do not buy this printer. After 6 weeks it has stopped working, it needs the ink changing a second time but the icon which is meant to bring the ink to the station it can be changed does nothing at all, the ink remains hidden and can't be changed. I could send it to be repaired and be without a printer for 2 weeks only I can't even print out the label to take it to the location because THE PRINTER DOESN'T WORK. This printer is a complete waste of money, its the sort of printer if you want to only have a printer for 6 weeks before it breaks and you have to buy a new one and install a new one from scratch. Epsom printers never last past a year, but this one even for an Epsom is exceptionally bad value. Going to order a Canon again, a make you can trust.

Poor print quality for the price.
This printer had a very poor print quality for the price of the printer. Very grainy prints with lines on it, using the Epson cartridges that came with printer. These prints were slides with lots of images on for a professional context so I suppose quality is important in my use case. I also found out that Epson voids warranty if you use third party cartridges! Be warned. I honestly have seen £30 quid printers do a better job of print quality.

The printer itself is good and produces good quality print. Exceptional value for money but the problem is that the printer will only work with official Epson ink cartridges and a suitable pack costs more than the printer!!!

A beautiful thing printer the fails at doing its job efficiently.
This printer is compat, elegant and full of the features wi-fi which works well. Scanner that is great and printer function all for a cheap price but god forbid you have to actually print something. If you are thinking of purchasing this printer get yourself about 6 extra full packs of ink because you will churn through it in a few pages. You more than make up for the expense when it comes to the ink cartridges.
My one is barely 3 months old and it has been barely used because I cannot afford to keep buying it new cartridges. I am buying a whole new printer and donating this one to a recycle unit so it can become something more useful like a toilet brush holder. Useless.

Great printer for the home office and for printing out fun things to do in isolation!
Great printer. Cheaper than a lot of office printers and does a great job printing black and white or colour printouts fast. I like how the paper is hidden away rather than stuck up out the back bending over like most home printers. The duplex printing is also a bonus. I bought extra inks after some reviews say that the ink that comes with it doesn't last long but 100 printed pages later, about 30 in colour, and it's still printing fine. Setup is a breeze if you have an optical drive, which I did on one laptop. For any PCs with no optical drive downloading the driver and following the online instructions can be a pain as you may miss a driver (there are about 5). I found it easier to just rip the driver disc to ISO, copy the file to a USB stick and run on the other Windows 10 machines in our household (Win10 can read ISOs without specialist software). Note that there is no USB printer cable included but it works great over WiFi with modern dual-band routers. I found it useful to assign a fixed IP address in the router itself for the printer. I also installed Epson iPrint on our android devices so we can print from mobiles and tablets from anywhere in the house or garden. Great for when you see some new activities for the kids to do when isolating. Click, print, job done!

Partly my own fault. I had an Epson and it was absolute rubbish. I ditched it once it stopped recognising the ink cartridges.
I meant to replace it with a Canon but somehow, I managed to buy this instead. I still don't know how I made that mistake as I'm usually very careful.
Anyway, I decided to try to install it. There are no drivers included for Mac so I visited the website. There are no drivers on the website for Mac Osx 10.13 and no way to contact Epson customer services.
It's a complete waste of money, as is the Epson XP-245. I really don't know how there are so many positive reviews. The Eposn printers I've had have been a nightmare to set up.

Worst Printer Ever please DO NOT BUY
This is the worst printer I have purchased ever. There is not a single quality I can say good about this product. The user interface is horrible, the printer drags the papers always in such a slanted way that the paper get stuck inside each and every single time. The software update mechanism and user interaction is terrible, the selection between print, scan, copy is pathetic, it gives me a panic if I have to do anything with this printer. I wish I could return. I would like to request everyone out there please DO NOT BUY. Otherwise you will repent like me for the rest of your life.

An okay printer but....
This new Epson replaced an old one. After so many years the price remained the same which was good but I wish I had made an investment in a better model. I only really wanted something very simple but I am confronted by so many features that in all honesty I don't really anticipate using. I cannot afford the time learning everything, I cannot be bothered. I had trouble setting things up but that I accept was probably down to me and not the machine. Print quality is both good and quick. I guess it is a good machine but I wish it was simpler. I'm dreading the replacing of the ink cartridges.

Great value All in one
My last printer died on me when I bought a new desk top, so decided to buy an All in one. I don't print lots of documents so was looking for a reliable home printer at a reasonable price. The set up process was straight forward both using a USB cable and wi-fi printing from my android phone. the print and scan quality is more than adequate for anything I will ever print and the will include photo's and letter quality prints. All in all this is a great home printer, my only dislike so far is the paper load system, its a little bit flimsy and clumsy, but for the price this is a wonderful machine.

Setting up was an issue, once set up ~ ideal printer
Arrived promptly as expected in excellent condition. Psper instructions poor; but using the web link which was in instructions it was easy to set up on mac & windows. Mac very easy via wifi but windows via USB. It took over 1h to set up ~ the BLACK ink cartridge was a bad fit/connection. The ReadyInk Amazon DRS was not obvious; this I managed via google and even then not obvious. This could have been better documented or hyperlinked from ANAZON's page. But from EPSON it was possible.
Oh! and automatically pay-as-you-go via Amazon Dash Replenishment is a tad overexpendive when you can buy a pack of 4 inks for price of individuals

It's compact good for small printing
I had a professional printer with all in one including fax, scan tray, automatic 2 side printing etc so I came from top spec to mid range naturally I am bias and noticed a difference. I think the printing quality is not overwhelming, it's ok it's neat but not the best I've seen. However I bought it because it's compact the ink is cheap and as I don't print much that's the best solution. The feeding paper system is a bit of a pain and sometimes hit and miss but if you don't print much, like me, that should not be a bother. All in all it does it's job but not the most convenient. Installing...well...I mean I use it on mac and windows but there is a huge difference between the systems...a lot of apps and drivers needed. It would have been easier to build a single app that does all rather than 1 for scanning 1 for printing 1 for photos etc. Again it's good for a couple of pages here and there.
