I bought this two weeks ago, great price, free and fast delivery from Beach Camera through Amazon. I got this to replace my old Epson 636U, which I loved but which was not compatible with my new Windows 7 computer.Well, this one could not have been easier to setup. In less than 10 minutes I was scanning. And the only reason it took that long was because I had to decide which photograph was going to be the first one I scanned. I tried the auto mode and the Professional (Photographer) mode and they both came out great: fast, great colors, and sharp. I can see that using the auto mode will probably be more than sufficient for most scans and most people. But, if you like to tweak with histograms and gamma and all that other PhotoShop-type stuff, you have plenty of flexibility. I haven't had a chance yet to try out the rest of the software and features but they look promising.Now, for the asterisk: it's not enough of a complaint to ding it one star down from five, but it is slightly annoying. I don't care for the placement of the power cable and USB connectors on the unit; I think they'd be better in the "back" of the unit, but maybe they are right next to the power/control buttons to save money and space. And maybe it's just a problem for me because I have the unit on the right side of my desk and the computer tower is on the floor on the left side. (I can't reconfigure it any better). So, since the unit is so compact, I turned it "sideways" and it worked out just fine. The cover flips open perfectly, the power/USB cable are out of my way, and the little extra reach to the buttons is no big deal. So: still five stars.Highly recommended, not only for the price, but for the features, and results. Now, on to the thousands of photos I want to scan in. Maybe I'll update this review after a few hundred....

This scanner was a replacement for one that wouldn't work on Windows 7.I must say that this is an extremely high quality device. I love how crisp and clear the image is that comes out.I use it for scanning my traditional art. And I couldn't be happier with it.Not to mention the scanning process is fast and easy!Love this so much!

I purchased this scanner to use on a very large 35mm slide conversion project. I had 6,000 slides to convert to digital format! The project took me over 4 months to complete while I fit it in between other work. During the entire time, the scanner worked like a champ!! It worked flawlessly and I was very pleased with it. All 6,000 slides have been converted as of today. I can't say enough good things about this scanner's durability, accuracy and quality. I'm very pleased with it and can strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a good scanner to convert slides to digital format.

I took on the project of converting my family slides to digital -- I have over 1500 slides to convert. After much research I picked the Epson V330 and I am not disappointed in my selection. While the scanning process is slow, the slide holder and slide review features make the project bearable.

Disappointed with the instructions. They assumed you knew what they were talking about. Made prints from negatives, the quality was poor. I'll be using Walgreens in the future for prints from negatives. I was so frustrated with my first attempt to use the Epson, I haven't touched it since. :(

I order this scanner based on all of the good reviews and the fact that it was supposed to work with windows 7. I setup it up and found that the scans it produced were terrible. This was not a matter of just being a bit picky but so bad that a scan of a black and white warranty booklet were illegible. The scans were all a shade of blue and so fuzzy and distorted that you could not even read large font black and white text. I wrapped up the product and returned it to amazon the same day. Buying electronics on line is a bit of a risk since there are always a few lemons. I apparently got one of them.

I love Epson Scanners in general. This one takes up very little space and I like that. It does what it is supposed to do but really is a scanner for the amateur. I don't think I'd ever use the stitch thing... it's too complicated (and I am a techie).We bought it to copy sheet music for my husband and it doesn't do it well because the stitch thing is not easy.I thought about returning this scanner but decided it would be a good gift for someone who doesn't require much more than a basic scanner.I like having a neg and slide scanner built in. This doesn't have it.So.. it's good.. but I needed it for specific purposes.

I haven't had much time to test it out. It looks like it will do what I need. When I needed support for some help with the installation path all I got was a Boiler Plate / Generic answer from support, which did not even address the question. I don't recommend their support.

The scanner works very well. The ability to scan negatives and slides is great as well. Also to send via email or straight to a printer is a major plus as well. The only down side is when scanning loads of pictures it takes alot of time because of the scanning process. Overall can't beat the quality for the price. Good choice.

Epson Perfection V33 Photo Scanner (B11B200201)Pros: Set up; Use; quality of output --> This was an easy & quick set up as well as being very user friendly. Exceeded my exceptions for such a simple flat bed scanner and does exactly what I had hoped for and then some.Con: Speed --> I gave a 4 star overall in place of a 5 star only because it is slow. I knew it was going to be slow when I purchased but it really is slower than what I had expected. However with all the other good points and since it is just a home scanner I am very satisfied with that said the product in its entirety is well worth it.

Pros: Good clarity. Good color rendition. Quick scanning. Flip flat top. Easy to use. I use it to scan in collages and have them reprinted. I wouldn't use it for enlarging (more than 150%) but it works great for same size or smaller reprints.Cons: Squeaks and moans like it needs oil.

I got this scanner for my wife because she is enrolled in college to get a photography degree and it works perfect. We have no complaints and this is definitely one of the best scanners we've ever owned.

This scanner makes very nice copies of photographs and they can be easily manipulated as needed with the Epson program. The slide option is a different story. The mechanism that folds slides for scanning is very difficult to load. The slides fall out more often than not. To date, we cannot get the scanner to actually scan the slides but rather is scans the "slide holder" itself. Very frustrating.

This is the first scanner I have ever owned. I was familiar with a sheet feed scanner in my office job but find this very easy to install and to use. I am taking all of my old family photograph albums, very old, and scanning the pictures so my children and grandchildren will not have to store these heavy albums. It is wonderful to put names on the pictures with Paint Shop Pro.

It was very easy to setup and scanning is great but some of the front buttons don't seem to work. A window pops up saying that some drivers must first be installed. The drivers are installed because it works just fine with paint or word. Maybe it is because it is installed on a Vista machine?Otherwise, it is fast, quiet and good price.

I bought a new Epson Perfection V30 scanner from Amazon in 2010. Some time later (but unfortunately later than 30 days after buying it, so returning it to Amazon was not possible anymore) I found out that the scanner is not scanning exactly but delivering slightly distorted scans.I called the Epson support (which is not an 800 number but a long distance call), explained the problem and went through a one hour procedure before the Epson person finally accepted the fact that the scanner does not work correctly.In the end I was told I had to bring the scanner to an Epson service center in Phoenix "to get it serviced". I live 125 miles away from Phoenix. To go there cost about $40 in gas and takes about 6 hours back and forth - and this I would have to do twice, to bring it and to pick it up. In the end this would cost multiple times the value of the scanner. I tried to get Epson to let me send the scanner in - not possible.I think it is an infamy not to offer customers to send defective items back to Epson and I think Epson does that deliberately to prevent customers from making warranty claims. People should know about this before buying Epson products (which I will, of course, never do again).

After reading positive reviews I decided to purchase this scanner over the more expensive HP. The Epson has equal features for half the cost. After scanning several 30+ year old photos I was very impressed by the softwares color restore & dust removal feature. If you are looking for a quality scanner at a decent cost this is the one for you!!

Moving around throughout the years I've managed to snap quite a few 35mm photos, unfortunately, the moves have not been so kind to the prints - luckily, I've retained many of the negatives and slides... books of them to be precise. For the price, this scanner does the job and more. I am more than satisfied with the scanning quality of both color and black & white negatives and slides, plus the freedom to adjust quality prior to scanning. I can't wait to use it's other features.

The drive system on both units I have had malfunctioned right out of the box. The belt driving the scan head made noises like the cogs were slipping.The scans it did accomplish were fine. The time it takes to scan 4 slides made it more aggravating when half of them didn't come out.Luckily, I had no problem returning both units.
