Not the top of the line, ( I wish) but hey, the sound is so much better than our older Denon and we have room now to add the play station, blue ray, Apple TV.

Since it's not wireless (a good thing)We bought a Powerline 4-port Fast Ethernet PLS 400 by Linksys, which lets us use our existing home wiring system to connect to the router.

The only thing we are not happy about is that when running the speaker sound test set up it is either stereo or 7.1 surround there is no auto 5.1 setup.

I recently purchased this receiver to replace a Pioneer Elite that was only 3 years old. The main purpose was to upgrade to HDMI 1.4a (3D/4K passthrough) however after setting this device up I noticed some other valuable improvements. First, the Pioneer always seemed to have problems synchronizing with my AT&T U-Verse receiver. I'd have to toggle the input to get it to sync. The Denon immediately synchronizes every time that input is selected. Second, the Denon has a "Voice Channel" setting (+/- dB) in the menu options. While this may seem trivial, voice output from the Pioneer was less than stellar even with a Polk Monitor Series Center Channel speaker. The voice from the Denon is clear and crisp out of the box but by upping the center channel by +3dB it is amazing, even at lower volumes.

Overall, solid build quality and great sound out of the box. Once I use the auto-calibration I imagine it will improve more.

Setup takes about 10 minutes and a very intuitive GUI walks you through the whole process. I'm loathe to admit it, but this receiver processes surround sound tracks better than my $1000 Pioneer Elite...and it was much easier to setup. I'll definitely buy another one to replace the Pioneer.

My first Denon and could not be more pleased :-) The Apple Airplay amply awesome! I control everything with my iPad/iPhone. I use this receiver with The Polk RTI series it really doesn't get any better :-)

Great Amp. Slight problem with set-up but Denon help line excellent and soon sorted. Easy to use and good remote. Sound brilliant

A 'discrete' dark horse?. bought on spec, wanted enough watts for music (my 1st love!), home theatre set-up (films) & gaming (total immersion?), therefore hdmi, surround sound, analogue & digital hub, centre piece.

i can play xbox360 & xbox one, in 1 set of speakers, while listening to music, net radio, etc thru another. all eq & balanced. airplay my mac from bedroom, remote with iphone.
i haven't mentioned 4k up-scaling of dvds, (even vhs recorders, 'hang on?'...wow), hm movies etc.

Excellent Receiver and a great companion to my Sony 4K TV, incredible picture and audio quality. This is my third Denon receiver and yet again they have pushed the boundaries of my expectations.

I'm really satisfied of this AVR, with this price it's definitely a best buy. Superbly detailed and entertaining sound, very good specs.

Love this receiver. It sounds great and was very easy to setup with the on-screen setup program. This is an upgrade for me and I can't believe how much different the same speakers sound with this new receiver!

I replaced an old receiver and the difference is great. all it's cracked up to be and came right to my door.

I love the networking capability. I use the second zone for the outdoor speakers and can control everything via smartphone app. Amazing receiver!

Had purchased the X1000 and really wanted a little bit more power. The app remote works great and the sound is just the same as X1000 except volume is a little lower since it has more power. Perfect for my apartment living.

Haven't had any problems, does everything I expected it to and more. Sounds good driving my pioneer floorstanding speakers and polk sub.

This beast will power up to 500W of speakers of your choice, which makes it really mighty. Am using it to bi-amp two 160W floor-standers - never even tried 98 Volume (that's max). HDMI pass thru and many many othewr great features, including LAN and multiple decoding and up-scaling options. Easy to use, awesome sound. Best spent 300 on an AVR

I bought this receiver to drive a 7.1 surround sound system for my home theater. What amazed me is how everything worked right away without adjustments. This is truly a plug and play receiver and works great for cable TV, Blu-ray movies, or Netflix streaming from my tablet. The receiver's processor detects the speakers and subwoofer and the setup menu simply walks you through an easy calibration process. There is nothing to figure out. Just follow the on-screen instructions and enjoy great sound.

The item is excellent and its functionality is immense. I have noticed that the sound quality is much improved and filtering is far more advanced than i expected.

We read a lot prior choosing what to buy and indeed it is a wonderful product. Easy to set up and use, lots of options available. Excellent value for money.

Excellent AVR. Sound is clear, snappy and a joy to listen to. I have it hooked up to a pair of Canton Chrono SLs. I probably need a bit more power but this can be done through a separate power amp as this AVR has pre-outs. Great great product. Highly recommended at this price point.

based on specifications this unit is great value for money and I am very happy with it. My previous Denon of which was similar yet and older model did die with the dreaded flashing light so I hope this new model is more reliable.
