I had my last receiver for about 15 years. Finally convinced myself to upgrade. I have always been a big fan of Denon sound equipment, so I have decided not to take chances with other brands, although Onkyo looked very appealing for the features it had in a similarly priced receiver. X2000 model seemed like a very good fit for me in terms of the features it had, so I have decided to go with it. Although my previous receiver, Denon AVR-2400, sounded very nice (main reason why I was always hesitant to buy a new one), when I set this one up, I was hooked. After I did the Audyssey setup the sound was just amazing. I am the kind of a guy who likes to spend quite some time re-equalizing the sound to fit my taste, and one of the features that I knew that this receiver had, and one of the main reasons why I wanted to buy it, was the built-in eq. Well ... after I ran the Audyssey sound setup, I didn't even want to go and change the equalization of the sound. It just sounded so rich, balanced and detailed, I felt that any change I would make with an eq could mess it up.
Aside from the sound characteristics of this receivers, it has some Video processing tools which are very nice, GUI is nice and user friendly. A remote is very nice and simple, although seems to have most of the features that I need in one. Manual is very big. This will give you an idea of the amount of features this thing has. I haven't really found any negative things about it yet. Overall I think it's an amazing receiver.
I would definitely recommend this.

This AVR meets/exceeds all of my expectations! As usual, Denon provided an excellent product in the Denon AVR-X2000. I needed an upgraded AVR to compliment my new Samsung UN65HU8550 UHD TV. Based on reviews and product info this Denon AVR-X2000 met the needs to have 3-D and 4K pass through/up conversion, ARC functionality and excellent sound options/choices. I am continuously amazed at the sound that this receiver puts out! My wife even notices the difference in the sound quality and really likes it (a big plus justifying the cost of a new receiver)!
Set up was fast and easy thanks to the awesome GUI! I down loaded a firmware update on start up. It wasn't fast and took about 40 minutes! ARC was easy to set up on the receiver! All of the programing and apps that come from the TV are automatically pushed back through the AVR and sound awesome! It syncs to other compatible devices and eliminates the need for multiple remotes!
All in all, this is a very good receiver for the money! I would highly recommend it to anyone needing to upgrade their AVR without breaking the bank!

Great! Does exactly what is says on the description (check Denon homepage - use comparison function to other X-products in same range).
The 2000 is the basic version, however has all important functions like 4k ready, airplay, etc. Do not see a reason why you should pay more for the higher X-product version.

Sounds great. I replaced a Yamaha receiver with this and immediately heard the difference. I have always had Yamaha until I purchased this receiver. Denon is warm and rich and this particular receiver has plenty of power for a small system. I would recommend this receiver to everybody. It does not have pre-outs for an external amplifier. I believe you will have to spend close to $1000.00 dollars to get pre-outs. I wish I would have bought a Denon years ago, my ears would have thanked me.

A solid receiver, especially for the money. Decent connectivity, though the Apple Airplay link is pretty poor on my example. Doesn't stream smoothly from my phone- cuts out often. Makes plenty of power for average speakers but not nearly what the specs claim. Not much of a problem if biamping the front mains is possible in your setup as it was mine but it definitely makes less power that the non-HDMI friendly Denon AVR-2105 it replaced. Connectivity overall is good with plenty of assignable HDMI inputs and all the decoding you could ever need. Audyssey equalization works extremely well and the GUI is far better than most of its competitors. A great receiver for the money but not necessarily a home run

awesome amp and great value.Paired with kef 3005se this amp is excellent flr the money. One connected to a router the phone/tablet app also works perfectly. Internet radio, detailed and powerful surround and excellent remote.

Denon AVR-X2000 In-command 7.1-Channel 4K Ultra HD Networking Home Theater Receiver with AirPlay is truly a high quality item. I'm floored by the sound I'm getting through my speakers. I always thought it was really good but with this receiver, man, the sound is over the top and down the block. Wow.
I just have 2 3-way speakers and am looking for a sub-woofer and another set of speakers to create a surround sound atmosphere. Still, the sound is unbelievable with just 2 speakers. I'm imagining a sub-woofer will be the cherry on top.
Having an outlet to connect my iPod is a real bonus. The receiver seems to recharge my iPod while it's connected. It's been a long standing complaint of mine that I have these great 3 way speakers and all I can get to play my iPod through, outside of headphones, are chintzy little specialty speakers.
I had no problems hooking up my DVD player. Everything works fine.
The FM stations come in loud and very clear. The AM stations had a lot of static even while using the enclosed antenna. I only listen to AM radio at night for Coast to Coast so I'll just use the radio on my boom box. Plus, you have to change from FM to AM on your TV screen which is nothing but a hassle anyway.
As another reviewer stated, the manual is on a disk in pdf format. I am also someone who like a hard copy manual. Trust me, I am not going to use up a lot of ink and paper to print it out. The idea that I have to fire up my computer just to look something up in the manual is so annoying. It's also harder on my eyes to scan down page after page looking for something when I can just flip through a manual while sitting in front of the item and be done with it. As it is now I have to go back and forth between my computer and the receiver. No, we don't ALL have laptops and iPads to carry everywhere we go.

The only 2 things keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the hassle of changing from FM to AM radio, or from AM to FM, picking up a sub-standard AM radio signal and the lack of a hard copy manual.

decided it was time to upgrade my pioneer system got this one and what a difference in sound is amazing and thats with theold speakers cant waittohear it witn new speakers souns acrisp and ucanhear a pindrop set up easy with microphone ucant setitwrong if u do it tells u onscreen luv plenty imputs

I bought this because of the network functions and find it hard to believe that networking has been around as long as it has and can be delivered so poorly, but this will enable you to get your music and movies off your pc or media centre and play them. The mobile app is ok but can't see your playlists or files but you can switch it on and off and change the input with it. It'll need a bit of jigging around until you get it sorted.
I don't know if I'd ever buy it again, I'd probably look at something else but then when I did the research before buying this it was one of the best performers for the price range so it's quite possible this is as good as you'll get at this price point.

Great feature set at a great price.
Volume (power output) is a bit less than my similarly spec'd (older!) Harman Kardon but realistically it's plenty loud.
HDMI switching/standby passthrough, while it initially seemed awkward, turns out to work quite intuitively. Definitely getting used to this.
While the standard remote doesn't provide it, I did find discrete power codes for my URC universal remote. I've now got single button on/off for my different modes and the family is loving it.
Last switching receiver I tried (different brand) had a bunch of noise in the audio, easily heard when there was no audio signal. This unit is quiet.
Auto-EQ seems to have worked nicely. Definitely like the adjustments when I switch from "Direct" to Audysey EQ.

i am very happy with this the sound is great on the multi stereo setting.... it seems to suit all kinds of listening.. i mainly use my pc for music these days and really enjoy the sound...

Bought this to replace my old Yamaha RX-V565, whose HDCP chip bit the dust (and would therefore no longer route HDMI video). For the most part I'm pleased with the unit. I do wish it wouldn't engage the HDMI connections when on a separate source (as this causes my computer to think the screen is active and shift away from my dual monitor) but it's a small quibble on an otherwise good piece of tech.

Nice receiver works great. Few complaints like it could use a second HDMI as output so you can power two TV's. Also when second channel is on it only works in stereo for the primary.

While I do not keep abreast with all the latest and greatest AV receivers on the market, this Denon unit works pretty well!
My only gripe is the lack of Wi-Fi but I simply plugged this into my living room's Apple Airport base station and I can use any network enabled feature without a hitch.
My favorite is Airplaying media from my iPod or iPad. Works perfectly every time. My only gripe is the apparently "lag" from when press Play/Pause etc to when it actually happens.

I absolutely love this device! My last Denon home theatre amp lasted over ten years before it died and made me very sad, however this does everything the other one did plus a whole lot more! You need one in your life!

Delighted with the sound quality and ease of set-up. Only disappointment is that my Sub-woofer uses standard speaker cable and this amp requires that is a RCA connection. I know that this is not the receivers fault but now i need to buy a new sub. Apart from that and its slightly clunky size I am delighted.

After a month, suddenly there is no preamp outputs for Zone 2. This however happened after we messed around with the set-ups, I'm still experimenting to see if the preamp comes back.Otherwise, it works very well. There is one inexplicable issue about unequal volume levels among the sound modes, for example, Multi-Channel Stereo mode seems quite louder than the rest.

I bought this under advice from a friend who owns a home theater business and uses Denon exclusively for their quality and dependability. I replaced an aged Yamaha without HDMI inputs to keep up with technology. What a great product. As complex as the receiver is, the set up function was easy, it walks you right through it all. It has great power and sounds fantastic hooked to our Klipsch speakers. It has plenty of HDMI inputs and I ran a cat 5 cable from our cable modem and can stream all the internet radio available, which is a bonus. This also allows us to update our blueray and tv as well. I bought it "used, new in an open box" at a discounted price, only to find the display panel was scarred. It is not terrible, but the company was not entirely honest either. Buyers beware....

I am very disappointed, after all the hoopbla I heard about this receiver from Avsforums and other websites. When amazon had the price come down I took a chance and pulled the trigger. The GUI interface is perfect and then some. But that's about all the praise I can give this receiver. The power rated is wayyyy over hyped. This amp can not even push my front speakers which are the Infinity primus p363. It was under powered by a whole lot. I since returned this and got the NAD T748v2 amp. It's like night and day compared to these two. Go check out my review on that amp. I have a 7.1 system which consist of Polk tsi-100 for front heights, Polk tsx250c for my center, and Boston Acoustics micro 90x for surrounds along with Bic F12 for the sub.

The first unit shipped did not work so Amazon sent another one out. It is functional but it doesn't limit the added volume from commercials as advertised.

I recently decided to buy an additional AV Given that I already own two feature packed receivers (wifi, and Bluetooth) I chose the AVR-X2000 based on a great price point ($100 cheaper than the Onkyo TX-NR 626), and a long time curiosity about Denon
The X2000's Clean, Logical layout of the back panel made an immediate positive impression! Making the wire, and cable connections was much easier than on my Onkyo's. I set up the Audessy MultEQ

I was a bit taken back by how simplified it is. I guess i prefer a more in depth remote like I've been used to on old Denon AVR's. Denon's remote app is terrible. But there is several other free ones to try. Very clean design with straight forward back panel layout. It has a plastic, not aluminum front facia. But this is a mid level AVR. More sound field settings than found on remote. Normally I would go though the manual but it's on CD and I didn't want to print 255 pages. I'm hoping using a Logitech Harmony remote will give more direct access to some features. Haven't set up home theater yet because i'm putting on finishing touches and still ordering equipment. I was disapointed that id doesn't have wifi or blue tooth. Not sure why I thought it did. Will not play MP4 from windows media. Only music. Getting wifi blu-ray for this function. Denon needs to add Netflix app and 1/8 inch input for those of us who don't have iphones anymore. I hope as i get used to it the next star will shine. Guess i don't like to rely on GUI for everything.....

My first Denon product. very competitive price point, used it over the last few days to watch TV, Movies and music, and set up Zone 2 for outside speakers. Has all sorts of great features. the Ability to stream music off the internet was a big plus. I used the iPhone app when outside, and it is a bit buggy, but nothing too major. I would expect them to work out the issues.
When connected to my network, you can manage the device on your computer, as the device has a web interface - very cool!
Sound quality is exceptional. Very easy to set up, as long as you do not have old devices.
