There is an issue many people will run into, regarding messages of insufficient power, or the dock not working properly. The setting to fix this is in the advanced power plan settings named:
PCI Express
Change this from "Maximum power savings" to "Off". This should resolve any weird dock issues. Dell still isn't perfect, but at least this fix works.

Never buy dell mobile. Workstations, sure.. Otherwise no.

I am slightly disappointed because I was all set to upgrade this box with extra RAM and an extra internal HDD. But both the internal RAM slots are in use, and although there is space in the drive bay (because the SSD is just jammed to one side in the case) there is no spare SATA power to link an internal HDD to. The single power socket on the board powers the SSD and also the DVD. Luckily I hadn't actually bought any of that. Instead I will use a USB 3.0 port to connect an external HDD and see how it goes.
Bargain, nevertheless.

But beware. Because these machines come 'renewed' from different companies. You'll see 'sold by' The IT Buffs or in my case Level 3 Computers - & it appears these companies may have markedly different standards.
My computer arrived late having left Bradford for Leeds, (9 miles) but somehow reaching me via Hinckley in Leicestershire thanks to DPD - but they're another & very sad story. I only trust Amazon Logistics for shipping personally.
When the computer arrived it was well packed & marked fragile. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was a pervading smell of cellulose paint. Got the packaging off to find I'd been sent a completely different model of machine to the one I'd purchased - a 9020 instead of a 3020. Saw straight away the source of the paint smell - a gouge in the original paint on the side panel of the machine had obviously been very hastily - & badly, spray painted. The front fascia was also scuffed. Amazon Renewed's definition of "looks like new" is that "imperfections must be invisible at arm's length". These were visible from several feet away!
With the wrong model & shoddy renovation I decided to look inside. Couldn't get the painted side panel off though - the release mechanism was jammed. Very careful & gentle pursuasion got it off. Problem was the panel had been painted shut - the paint came off the edge of the panel with it. No apparent problems inside the machine - clean & everything seemed as described on Amazon for the computer I'd chosen. Replaced side with a little difficulty. Hitched the machine up to power & monitor & went through the initial set up. Annoyed to discover it's WiFi dongle was only a single frequency 2.4 GHz one, so confined to a slower speed - the cheapest offering available. Completely synical. The price difference between that & a dual 5/2.4 GHz is minimal. Little things like that speak volumes for me.
By now, somewhat cynical myself I ran Speccy analysis software to ascertain just what was in the box here. Have to say, it checked out - no nasty shocks. I was glad because, for example, whereas 3020s have a 240 gig hard drive 9020s, despite the higher model number usually have 120 gig. But no, ssd, storage capacity, CPU etc. all fit the bill for my buck.
So to summarise, the wrong model supplied with no explanation, or indeed anything at all, actually - just a machine & a plug, bit hard on any novice users out there, a shabby badly prepared computer with a cheap wifi dongle. Not the experience it seems of other buyers supplied by other sellers.
I didn't want to return the machine I had bought extra warranty & insurance for it & I needed it there & then.
Phoned Amazon Renewed. They were obviously rather unimpressed & have credited me with the cost of a new side panel which is coming from eBay for £14.70 & a real dongle bought for £12.00
You get what you pay for - or in my case, not what I paid for. You wouldn't expect to buy an as new car then have to find bulbs for the lights would you? Two calls to Ireland later & time spent buying replacement components, it's sorted. But I thought I was buying an as new computer - not a load of hassle.
So choose your supplier carefully folks.
Update.
Tried to complete first system backup to an external 1TB hard drive only to be told there wasn't enough space. It had over 800 GB free so new it wasn't meaning that.
Ran EaseUS to discover the installer had only allocated 50mb to the System Reserved partition when installing Windows 10. Er, 10 needs 500mb not 50!!!! To quote another grumpy old man - "I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!" 😂
Have had to re-size the SR partition - it's backing up ok now.
I'm not clever, but this is my hobby so I know a little bit. It isn't everyone's and they shouldn't have to, if you get my drift.
The computer seems fine overall & has now got it's new undamaged panel & a quality dongle - but when configuration isn't done properly, Quality Control could really do to take note I think.

Quality bit of kit, everything works as it should, unit is virtually silent and blindingly fast compared to my previous computer on win7.
Would highly recommend.

It's up and running now and is very much 'ok'. Really quiet (is that because it's got SSD ?) and very quick.Just to be clear, when it comes, it comes with no instructions whatsoever so you need a little bit of know how to set it up. Easy peasy. So far it does all I have asked of it. Well worth the minimal investment.

- Advertised as 8GB Ram, but when checking My Computer on Windows it seems to think its only 6GB Ram.
- Internet via Wireless was VERY slow, until I moved the Wireless dongle to another USB port, then it worked fine. Not sure if there is an issue with the original USB port it was in.
- No HDMI ports. I had to buy adaptors, in order to attach monitors to the display ports.

It arrived with Windows 10 fully set up with a user named OEM. With my IT skills I had no problem setting up a user name in my father’s name and deleting the OEM account, but I suspect this might have caused less savvy users difficulty. It would have been better if Windows had been properly reinstalled In its “factory reset” state, meaning when you boot it up you have to specify your account name, etc. I’m also sure the PC had a recovery partition on the hard drive when new - this is no longer there so you can’t easily reset the PC.
Overall, though, it’s an excellent buy for about 20% of the likely purchase price of a brand new one.

After an hour the screen went ble, message said there was a fault and pc needed to shutdown.
PC gathered info prior to shut down.
Message said No Hard Drive detected
Pc will not boot up now.
So it lasted an hour.
Caannot think of anything positive to say about it.
E-mailed the company , it shuts at 5 pm so waiting to see what excuse i get in the morning.
At the minute can only rate it as dreadful.
