Modem arrived after a short wait. Modem was packaged as promised, except that the bar code was removed. Modem works great.

Good docsis modem compatible with comcast cable systems. Comcast is converting to docsis 3.0 in some areas and this modem is not compatible with their new systems to fully take advantage of comcasts higher broadband speed. However, it is a sturdy modem within an acceptable price range.

This is an excellent product. It suits my needs perfectly. I was extremely satisfied with the seller, Tim Davis. I would recommend him to anyone. Easy installation and setup. Great product!

Setup took about 15 minutes including my time on the phone with Time Warner. It would have taken less but the model number needed to be added to their system (I could not have been the first could I?). The DCM202 connected on the first try! I did not have this kind of luck with the standard issue Motorolas that I've had in the past. I'm not sure about speed boosts yet but so far so good.There is one error in the documentation - web administration may be accessed from 192.168.100.1 not any of the other IP's they list and you don't need to reconfigure your TCP stack to connect to it. They probably made it look more complicated than it is to deter the average user. Passwords may vary so search google.

The D-Link was easy to configure and get going. Plug in the cable from the wall, plug in the power cord and run an ethernet connection to your wireless router or directly to your PC. Been running for over a year as of 8/09.

I bought this modem because Cox sent a letter telling me I had to upgrade my modem to a COCSIS 2.0 modem or I would not get the service after March 3. Cox wanted to sell me "their modem" but I decided to buy this one instead. After setting up this new modem I was not able to connect to the Cox service. When I called tech support, I was told this was an "out dated modem" and was not supported by the Cox service. I tried to explain that this modem was new and met their published specifications. They could only say it was not supported by Cox and I would not be able to get Internet service through them with this modem. Of course I then had to go to Cox and buy "their modem" in order to connect.Though I believe this is a good modem, it will not work with the Cox Internet service.Too bad....

although i had read some negative comments about the D-Link DCM-202 DOCSIS 2.0 such as ..."would not work with Cox cable and there would be no support for it..." i found those claims to be untrue, not only was it a snap to set up, but Cox had no trouble detecting it on my computer and everything is fine.

I got this one as of recommendation of one guy from Micro Center... They ran out of them, So i went on-line and found it on amazon... Works great had no problem so far using it 1 month...By the way, this one is the only one of "D-Link" brand product that in the list of supported modems by Comcast.... 5 stars...

After 18 months of inconsistent performance this product failed. After hours on the phone with D-Link they led me to believe that I could send back under an RMA and get it fixed or replaced. I was ready to pack up and send and then received email that it was out of warranty and I was out of luck. This company doesn't care about its customers. Buyer beware.

My ancient cable modem was on the fritz which prompted this purchase. I have Mediacom here in the south and they are less than impressive to make it kind. So, I was impressed with the boosting feature of this process to improve downloads--which it works like a charm to improve such substandard internet service. One of the best features is easy setup! I have a home network with router. Literally, I disconnected the old modem, turn off computer, connected new modem to cable and then to router, turned on computer and then turned on router---it was that easy!! I did not even have a need to install the software.

I've had my D-Link DCM-202 for almost a month and I am in internet heaven! I used to have airless internet(radio and antenna) for about 2 years due to living in rural area. Speeds maxed out at 1 MPS. Then along came Charter (Thank God!). Now I am receiving 10 MPS(!) with my cable internet, the D-Link DCM-202, a D-Link EBR-2310 Router, Vonage Motorola router, and X-Box Live. I'm never leaving the house again, LOL! This was so easy to set up. Inserted installation DVD (which helps you step-by-step), plugged it in (has it's own DC adapter for power) through ethernet (also has USB connection), called Charter to register the MAC address (the technician will do this for you if you are technically challenged) with them (which is listed on the side of the DCM-202) and Viola! Speedy Gonzales! I've already been tempted by Charter to upgrade to 16 MPS but 10 is just fine for now. Buy this modem if you are looking for ease of installation, cost and value of product ($65 on Amazon plus $20 mail-in rebate by July 31, so hurry!), and a cool looking addition to your system! I haven't enjoyed the internet this much since the original dial-up days!

The thing is- this modem is great, but requires a little more effort from Comcast customers. Having said that, it runs circles around the refurbished Motorola sb5101 I had from Comcast (yeah, I didn't know they did that either...) and as a result I'm seeing speeds MUCH faster than before.KNOW THIS COMCAST PEOPLE: 1. You must install the firmware update, even if you use the ethernet connection. 2. You may have big problems if you use the USB connection- so don't. 3. Comcast may tell you not to do the firmware update- but you'll have connectivity issues if you don't (I sure did). 4. It is a good idea to ONLY use the firmware update for the DCM-202 avail from Dlink's support site labelled "for COMCAST" and download it using your old modem first. 5. Don't hook up the cable to the modem until after you have upgraded firmware. 6. When you upgrade the firmware- be smart and connect with the ethernet cable, not your wireless router and be careful to follow the pdf directions EXACTLY. 7. Turn off your firewall and wireless adapter in your laptop BEFORE trying to update firmware. 8. After firmware update and cycling it by un- and re-plugging- call comcast to set up and register it.These hints should help you avoid some of the problems. If you REALLY don't know what you're doing- call Dlink to walk you through it while you're still connected to the internet through your old modem or phone line, and remind them you will need the firmware update. Then call Comcast and have them walk you through their thing. Good Luck.

I originally bought this modem when I subscribed to Comcast internet service, but had a series of problems that we eventually traced back to the modem. Replaced it with the Motorola modem and things are working well. The problem could have been an issue with the particular unit I had or a general problem; I did read quite a bit about Comcast customers having troubles with this unit.

I have been using this cable modem for the last six months with zero problems. Setup took maybe 5 minutes.Pros:I have never had to reset itIt does not generate much heatI am always able to get the promised speeds from my ISPSaves me $6 per monthCons:not DOCSIS 3.0 compatible so it may need to be replaced in the (near) future.

I own several D-Link products, including router, printserver, and USB hub, they work pretty well, since D-Link's good reputation, I purchased this DCM-202 cable modem for my new cable internet installation, it worked for a few hours, then the connection started to drop constently every 3-4 hours, especially when downloading big files and causing heavy downstream traffic. I had to reset it when connection was dropped. I have read several reviews about the connection drop issue before I bought it, I still gave it a try, it really disapppoited me. I think D-Link makes good networking products, but not this cable modem. I will get a Motorola Cable modem to replace this D-Link DCM-202. If you are looking for a cable modem, it's better not to try this one, don't waste you time.

I bought the D-link DMC202 about two weeks ago to replace a motorola Surfboard SB5120 It has been working great.ats on the D-link DCM202 compared to the Motorola Surfboard sb5120.I am using optimum online the basic broadband service in NY no boost.average speed after 11 pm usually around 13.2 Mbpsaverage speed after 8 am usually is around 9.8 MbpsNow let' s go to D-link DCM202 Statsaverage speed after 11 pm usually around 15.2 Mbps average speed after 8 am usually is around 11.839 Mbps D-link modem t works faster than the Motorola Surfboard SB5120.I did not even call Optimum Online to set up the modem.I just connect the modem directly to the line and then I click on the web browser and the instruction popped up and ask me for my account number. I put the account number and then follow the ISP provider Instruction.I was very connected to the net.

D-Link DCM-202 DOCSIS 2.0 USB/Ethernet Cable ModemI PURCHASED THIS TO REPLACE THE MODEM SUPPLIED BY MY CABLE COMPANY. IT WAS EASY TO SET UP, WORKED PERFECTLY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. IT IS FAST, STYLISH AND WAS A TERRIFIC BUY! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

The D-Link DCM-202 is just a cable modem, i.e., a mature technology product. It is compact, attractive, and supported by my cable ISP, Cox Communications. Other than the call to Cox to authorize it on their network, the setup couldn't be easier. Plug it in and wait about 20 seconds. It works.

Repair man had to come out... says modem is shot... have to buy another one. He recommends Motorola or Linksys... No more D-Link for me!

It works with Cox... only needed to give them my MAC address and I was up and running in no time. No complaints for the frist few days. I'll update if I have issues later. Running with a Netgear router over Ethernet, no issues. Bought because I love my Dlink NAS, and I've known lots of people have issues with the Cox-reccommended Motorola modems.

I purchased this modem new and installed it by following the instructions on the quick setup card. I contacted my cable internet provider (Comcast) with the MAC address and after they did their thing it has been up and running. I am also using a D-link wireless router and a Motorola Vonage device for phone service via Vonage. Everything has been working perfectly since day 1. D-Link DCM-202 DOCSIS 2.0 USB/Ethernet Cable Modem

have been using it trouble free for 4 years. runs hot but works all the time. even survived a thunderstorm that blew out my pc ethernet card. note that you can also use the usb connection but not simultaneously with the ethernet. usb is much slower but an option if you don't have ethernet card. very hard to grab because it is smooth and doesn't have handles
