Sound great!Overall quality is much better than a couple of similarly priced three-piece PC speaker sets I have owned. The bass on the other sets was fine, but the mid-range and treble does not compare to these Creative speakers.These speakers are not what you would want for a high quality stereo system or home theater; but for listening to music and watching videos on a PC they are perfect. They can also produce some volume. We sometimes listen to basketball and football games on the internet; these speakers are plenty loud enough to hear the action clearly in another room without any real distortion.

Fine pair of speakers 4 ~ up- close-up ~ listening ~ Luv the conveniently placed ~ speaker control dials (bass, trebble, volume) No hard wire cable is another + No problems w/ the volume control light ring (display is like the T40) & the light acts an indicator The control dials are metallic slick (not good 4 pizza fingers) I mainly purchased this product~ bcoz ~ Envy's audio control wouldn't fair well w/ games ~ Fn + audio ~ would result in a ~ crash or reversion to the desktop ~ so ~ I was looking for a compact pair ~ which equaled or surpassed HP's beats ~ w/ ~ built in volume control This unit definitely produced richer n' more diverse audio~ than~ My Envy's beats audio ~ Built-in speakers ~ The T40 version ~ sounded more hollow ~ They mayb great 4 a room ~ but ~ up-close ~ is an over-kill ~ in my books ~ If Ur like Me ~ & ~ just need a fine pair of speakers, w/ a diversity of sound ~ that are compact ~ & convenient to use ~ ~ U should b happy w/ these ~ I believe ~ these speakers ~ R 1 of a kind ~ I don't know of any other companies ~ selling this kind of setup ~

I own both the T20 and the T40 speakers and I must say that after several years of use, I prefer the T20 for two reasons:The T20 can be turned on and off from the front dial with much more ease than the T40 which requires flipping a switch on the back of the right speaker.Can very easily plug in MP3 player right into the AUX located on the front of the T20 right speaker. This is not possible with the T40's.As far as sound quality, I really didn't notice any improvement in the T40 and in fact, find that the T20's sound better. Maybe it's just my perception?For those who hate the blue light...I don't find it all that annoying during the day and I turn off the speakers at night. However, the T40's are more glaring than the T20's and turning them off at night is a must since they are next to my TV and light up the entire living room if I don't.

When these speakers arrived, there was a loose item rattling around inside the passive speaker. I asked the manufacturer for a replacement and they refused, unless I could provide proof of the problem. In able to do this, I had to mail the speaker back at my expense or take it apart and take a photo. Once I had the speaker apart (no easy task) I found a large chunk of loose glue. Instead of waiting for who knows how long for a new speaker, I bought a glue gun to fix the problem myself. The glue was to hold the tweeter in place. As goes life, this took two trips into town as the glue gun contained no glue sticks.After spending about five hours from my Saturday, I got the problem fixed. I asked the manufacturer to send me a replacement speaker anyway and they refused.Talk about lousy customer service! This pair of speakers cost under $40, which means the manufacturer's cost for the passive side is a few bucks. Yet they are too cheap to send one and they won't apologize of even attempt to make right in any way.I have now purchased three sets of speakers from Creative Crabs, but they have seen my last dollar. Like many companies, they like farm their work out to under-paid exploited workers, who use inferior materials. They sacrifice quality for profit. Typical corporation...

These speakers are incredible, you can really hear the power these babies got! Yeah, anywhere above 80% volume is distorted, but I think just leaving them at 45-50% is loud enough depending on the quality of the mp3 file 180mbps file is what is best, but just 120mbps sounds good. I don't recommend trying to download youtube converted audio it sounds horrible, reccomend downloading through itunes or I use my ipod touch 4th gen. when using these speakers and I've been using this app called grooveshark only works for jailbreak ipod/iphone/ipad and I think works for android devices. You pay like 9 dollars a month or 30 dollars a year and you can stream any song via wifi but if you're not by a wifi access there is a download offline feature to hear the songs which is obviously the way to go kind of a rip now for the app used to be 3 dollars a month, I'm probably going to cancel it b/c I'm dirt poor and saving for a car...anyway sorry for breaking away from topic these speakers are great, however you can buy them much cheaper on creatives website on their outlet store you can get them refurbished for 50 dollars its almost a steal refurbished work just like new ones

I have been searching for a pair of 2.0 speakers to replace my JBL Creature II's which still sound great after six years but, I got a new computer and wanted new speakers without a subwoofer. I brought home several Speaker sets from Logitech ( Z130, Z320, Z520), Bose Companion 3, and Creative T20 and T40. To my ear the Creative T20 sounds better than all those others even, the more expensive Creative T40. The Bose Companion 3 was very disappointing. The highs and lows were very good but the mid range was really lacking for a $250 set of speakers. The T20's sound great from low to high and there is more than enough clean base. I have read several hundred reviews on multiple sites and the negative comments come mainly from buyers who have defective units not because they dislike the performance of the T20's. Even if these broke tomorrow I would go right out and purchase another pair. Based on my experience, I believe the T20 is the best 2.0 speaker out there. I am very anal about the sound coming from my speakers so, I purchased my speakers from a local electronics store because, I knew I would be returning many before I found the one that pleased me. I am totally delighted with the Creative T20's and am sure you will be too.

I have had these speakers since they were introduced and have owned them for 2 yrs, had heard them at Fry's Electronics, and compared to other similarly priced systems at the store (I did not want a 3-piece subwoofer system), and felt this was a great compromise.What does it excel in: Clean and crisp mid-range and highs, vocals take on a natural sound, and acoustic guitar sounds very realistic. It is fairly compact, and heavyweight build. Has external inputs to connect to PC, and also a front input to connect an MP3 player to. The bass treble controls work well, but do not exaggerate the sound too much. Long cord when the power plug is not nearby.What are the weak points: Bass....but what do you expect from a non-subwoofer system. The bass is surprising considering the size of the woofers here. Don't expect to create rumble from the bass here. What bass there is, it is detailed and not boomy (no one-note bass here)I use them to travel (travel in car, not by plane) to other locations for when I travel on business (and use them in the hotel on the in-room desk). I am pleased with these speakers and was shocked when I read all the negative reviews???

So there they were, my new shiny Creative speakers. Knowing that they would come I already got my old speakers home ready to connect these ones the next morning in the office (where I can sometimes later in the day use the speakers - and on the weekend). I was excited to listen and experience if the sound was better than my old speakers. I connected the speakers to the computer, plugged the box for the power into the speaker, plugged the power cord - wait a minute... Where is the power cord?? Looking in the box, the trash, everywhere but - no power cord. So, how good are new speakers if there is no power cord. Stupid, Creative, ever heard of QC of the lowest level, check if everything is in the box? i will report on the sound once I can, I am pretty sure it will be as good or better than my older Creative speakers but this is quite annoying.EDIT: Amazon was fast and send a new pair in exchange - with the chord so I am sure that was an outlyer. The sound is very good (I am mostly listening to classic), well balanced if adequately adjusted. Nothing to complain and would buy again.

I don't like subwoofers. There, I said it. They're great for home theater systems and full-sized stereos, but for my desktop computer in my office, subwoofers vibrate the floors too much and disturb people in other rooms without giving me a significantly better aural experience, particularly since I'm just listening to stuff through my computer or iPod at relatively low volume.Most table top speakers are junk. So when I finally decided that I'd had enough of the throw-away speakers that came with my HP computer, I took my iPod (and the 1/8" plug-to-plug cord that I use to connect my iPod to my car stereo) with me shopping. (BTW, that was a really good idea...do the same if you can.) Almost all computer speakers have an "AUX" input jack, so I was able to go from one set of speakers to another comparing them using the same song from my iPod.The Creative Labs Gigaworks T20 series II speakers were FAR AND AWAY better than any other comparable speakers on the shelves at a retail store. It's that simple. They had both clearer highs and better bass than the others, including some with subwoofers, to the point that there wasn't even a real comparison.These speakers weren't cheap, and because I was used to speakers being free with the purchase of a new computer, I hesitated to spend more than, say, $20 on them. But after comparing the new speakers available at the store...and *especially* after comparing the T20's to the speakers they're replacing at home, I have come to accept that a reasonable amount of money spent on quality speakers can make an enormous difference with regard to how much I enjoy listening to music and watching videos on my computer. I consider their $100 cost to be money well spent.

I purchased the M-Audio Studiophile AV 20 Portable Desktop Speakers two years ago to use with my computer. They are made of a nice solid wood but do not have bass/treble adjustments - on/off only. I was fairly satisfied with the speaker until about two weeks ago one speaker quit working. I could not get it to work and the manufacturer advised me to return it for service. I'm guessing that to have the one repaired and all the shipping involved I'd be into well over $100.So, I looked into something more durable, something that might last more than two years when I stumbled across the GigaWorks T20. When the package arrived I was unimpressed; the speakers looked small at first but when I set them next to the AV 20's they were only slightly smaller and felt about the same weightwise. I set about the task of connecting the wires which took all of 2 minutes and turned on some country music and the sound coming from these little monsters was wonderful!! I hadn't noticed how much rich sound I'd been missing with the AV 20's.

I am very impressed with these speakers. I spent a few days researching tons of the 2.1 systems for under $75(my budget) but just could not settle on any of them. A few coworkers mentioned this set to me so I bought them on their word. within 24 hours of placing my order the had arrived at my house with free shipping! I spent the rest of the night testing them on many different styles of music, effects and movie trailers. I could not be happier with these.

Short & sweet..... For the price? it's quiet the level of quality sound. I'm also pleased to say that I'm also satisfied with the sound when I hook them to my 48" HD TV, it saved me from spending a hell of a lot of money to invest in those very expensive sound systems, perhaps they don't measure up but I say it again, for the price....they're worth a lot.

To get the most out of your Creative T20 speakers your music files should be of GOOD QUALITY.Why? Because the negative reviews, in all likeliness, came from people who tested their T20s with crappy, boot-legged MP3s. If you want to know why that's so important, play some of your store-bought CDs on your computer and compare them to the same songs on MP3; if you do that enough times you'll realize that MP3s often sound terrible in comparison, so much that you might mistake your speakers for the cause (or be confused why your friend's $20 speakers sound better... hint: different computers, different music files).Having said that, I've started purchasing my CDs from the store and importing them to iTunes in "lossless audio" format, that way I'm listening to them in high fidelity. They sound AMAZING on my Creative T20s!

I don't have much to say. I love these speakers. I bought them for use in my classroom. My school has many basic Altec Lansings which often leave me without enough sound to cover the room without telling my students to refrain from making any noise so that we can all hear. With these Creative speakers, the sound is clear, full, and great. I'm so spoiled, I can barely stand to listen to my old stereo speakers at home.As a final note, another of my colleagues bought the Bose Companion II speakers before, and he heard mine and said that the sound was so much better.Love them!

I was looking for a quality set of speakers to play music from my computer. These work great. The bass, mids and highs are solid. It's definitely loud enough. I've only pushed it to half it's volume and that's pretty loud. These are well worth the price.

They are pretty sweet. Glad I picked these up.Impressive audio quality and power. Very slick pair of speakers!My only cons:-There's no dedicated power button. The volume control turns it on/off.-They can tip over a bit too easily. Bad center of gravity.No big deal really. Too many Pros to list. Easily worth the money.

Among desktop speakers, these are the best sounding I've come across that do not have a separate subwoofer. The sound is crisp and there's a firm but not overpowering bass. Controls are easy to use, and the right speaker has both a headphone and aux in jack. The aux in is handy if you suddenly want to hook up an mp3 player and don't want to reach around the back.If you're looking for a pair of premium speakers at a fair price, this is a good option to consider.

Creative GigaWorks - If you want quality- not just good quality, but great quality, be able to tweak settings as YOU specifically want & desire. This is the product to get. Not sure why I did not discover this sooner - speakers with volume & quality that give you all the rich bass and highs that you want without a sub-woofer needed. I'm glad I did discover them. Great product 10x over! Once you buy, you will not turn back from them!

After going to 4 different stores to compare speakers I finally decided on these. I wanted a set of speakers for my laptop that I could occasionally take with me into another room. It's really hard to find a set of 2.0 speakers with decent bass, but I didn't want to cart around a subwoofer so these speakers were perfect. The sound quality is great. They have lots of bass and it doesn't sound muddy (even when turned all the way up). In my opinion these speakers sound much better than the $100 2.0 BOSE speakers. I also love the fact that you can adjust the bass and treble levels just by turning a knob. I've had these speakers for well over a year and they sound just as good as the day I bought them (even after being knocked off of my desk twice by my cat).

for just a set of 2 speakers I expected high quality from Creative, but I am much more pleased than I imagined. I have always been a Bose fan, all you need is to see my home entertainment set up to know. But I wrote a review for Creative on a set of headphones, which I bought before these speakers, as I wanted something for my la-z-boy, laptop, when I see something I like on tv I can research more on or if there's nothing on, I can enjoy myself. and when I want to crank them I can and I am not disapointed, and when anone else is watching tv, i just plug in my Creative gamer headset, and I get just as high of quality sound, and if someone comes online and wants to talk, just flip down the microphone and turn on the camera, and life is good.

I bought a set of these after doing a lot of research and considering the Bose Companions and MusicMonitors. I decided on the Gigaworks T20 and based on value I definitely made the right choice. These sound fantastic for $100 in my opinion. I have an expensive stereo system at home, and while you can't compare these to something like that, they are as good as anything in their class.I was looking for something I can carry with me while traveling. Size is a very big concern for me and this is the only place these really failed me. They are a bit bulky for my limited travel space and desk space. The sound from them is beautiful and natural sounding while watching movies. On one of my laptops I did find the volume lacking a little during soft speech in movies. On my Asus laptop the sound was great though.Due to size considerations mostly, I decided to get the Bose MusicMonitor. For my needs the Bose MusicMonitor are a better fit, but for 4x the price. I don't have the volume issue on either laptop with the Bose and find the speech much easier to understand on the Bose. However, I find the Gigaworks have a more natural and pleasant sound, besides that they are in a different world as far as price goes. I have to give the edge in Bass to the Bose. So much bass from something this size is something you really have to hear to believe. As for the T20's, the base is quite good but it's not going to shock anyone. The headphones jack, extra line in, and treble/base adjustments on the T20 are very nice also.

This is my first pair of Creative GigaWorks speakers (my purchase was based largely on all of the positive reviews) and I am not disappointed. Although their volume range is impressive, there is some distortion at the highest volume level. But these are for my office; their desk footprint is adequate, and their range at low to mid levels is impressive. Plus I like being able to adjust the bass/treble levels. Satisfied customer!

I like these desktop speakers. Low noise, good looking, decent sound for the price. Well worth the money for a computer system's audio. These aren't the ones I'd choose for serious gaming or for a bedroom audio system, but for a desktop computer they're great. Fine for watching videos at a home office, or listening to music casually while working on the computer.
